Rumbar at the ritz Key Biscayne had a great vibe, delicious food, and fantastic drinks! The atmosphere was lively and fun. However, the service was a letdown - our waiter and bartender/manager was unfriendly and seemed annoyed by our presence. Despite this, we enjoyed our time, but a warmer welcome would have made it exceptional. Great spot, but work on the hospitality!

I usually feel like a prisioner of my body and rarely get to have a pain free day.... As a Disabled American with a wheelchair and special needs family members, I can wholeheartedly say that the Ritz Carlton provides by far the most inclusive, amazing experience in a compassionate, elegant, kind, helpful environment. I love it and have been a loyal customer for many years. Osmar was absolutely kind and gentle to assist us. Unforgettable experiences. The rooms are ADA, the beach is private and peaceful, the cabanas at the pool are spectacular, the children's water park is superb, Cantina's Beach Front Restaurant is 5 stars with delicious meals and friendly waitresses/waiters. The ambience is on point. In the evenings at the RUMBAR they have excellent drinks accompanied by live music that plays melodious romantic songs, upbeat salsa numbers, fabulous merengues, and overall make the evening extra special. I love this place. I will continue to return for as long as I shall live. I hope you like the photos. I recommend their Quesadillas and their Fruit Smash cocktails.

Meal was good, but expensive. Good crisp fries, and very tasty ketchup which tasted homemade. Cuban sandwich was ok, only because it got soggy because of way it was served. However, service provided by Henry was outstanding! Staying at the hotel for a week, so I’m sure we’ll be back.

Google
There's only one word to describe this place "Shangri-La" If you have the budget for the creme de La Creme... look no further you've arrived. The environment was fantastic and the facility was impeccable. I'm looking forward to visiting once again..

Google
Advertised as a cigar lounge with beautiful leather chairs and a good selection. Upon arrival we were shown a small cigar selection and then told we would have to "sit outside". Walking outside we noticed it was not an extension of the bar but rather an undecorated patio with cheap lawn furniture. The prices were also sky high for the experience. Not worth it at all.

Google
Fantastic hotel bar staffed by a really fantastic team who make great cocktails. Just off the lobby, Rum Bar has a great dark wood fit out with big leather lounges. Alex, Luke and the rest of the team had great energy and looked after us all very well. Thanks for giving us a great time! (And big bonus they’re open late)

Google
We were there around 5 pm on Friday before labor day. It was pretty empty so I guess maybe not a lot of guests in the hotel (it's inside the Ritz). Anthony was working the bar and he whipped up some great cocktails for us. The wings, burger and the cuban sandwich were fantastic? It was pricey but that's to be expected at the Ritz. the decor was very classic and well done. lots of dark wood. a ton of rums and also bourbons but don't come here looking for beer variety.

We visited the Rumbar for about half an hour for happy hour. We ordered two simple drinks which were both delicious. They of course came with some house plantain chips and some very, very salted mixed nuts. As you can imagine, a HUGE selection or rums and many, many liquors. Will be back!

Yelp
Henry and Walter were amazing and recommended the white mushroom pizza. We are very excited to comeback and get Mojitos at the cantina next time

Yelp
Arrived at the Ritz early for a Wednesday evening Yelp Event at Lightkeepers, so decided to enjoy a drink at Rum Bar. During happy hour they offer a discounted Mojito, which seemed like a solid choice for a bar called Rum Bar. Quality Although it may be blasphemous to say in Miami, I am just not a big fan of rum. However, since rum was in the name of the bar, I felt obligated to select a rum based drink. I looked over the cocktail list and after learning about a discounted Mojito I decided to go with that. It was a very delicious and refreshing drink. A perfect mixture of lime and mint, with a nice tart flavor. I am always concerned about this cocktail being too sweet and leaving my teeth sore, but I am happy to report that it was not the case. Quantity The Mojito was served in a tall glass with a generous amount of alcohol. It was not overwhelmed by the taste of rum, but it was definitely present in each sip. Value Although this may not be a surprise, the cocktail bar at the Ritz is definitely not cheap. I was glad to take advantage of the discounted Mojito at $10 during happy hour because the other drinks were very pricey. The signature cocktails were all $18 and even the cheaper beers were $7. A guest on vacation may not be concerned by the prices, but as a local I would have had trouble justifying the cost. Ambiance Now what makes Rum Bar worth a visit is the wonderful atmosphere that the hotel has created. Located inside the Ritz Carlton on Key Biscayne, Rum Bar manages to transport you from the hotel lobby to a cozy lounge in the styling of Havana or maybe more appropriately Key West. Dimly lit and with a cool temperature it provides an oasis away from the heat. It is decorated much like a cabana that you would expect opened to the beach, completed with fans overhead, but in actuality it is an indoor bar with plenty of air conditioning. At the center of the space is the main bar, which beautifully displays the large selection of liquor. They also have two televisions that are incorporated in a way to keep the upscale feel, while still affording guests a chance to enjoy the game. Surrounding the bar are several smaller nooks complete with comfortable chairs and tables. It provides a level of intimacy that may not be expected. Almost everywhere you look you will find windows into glass shelves full of even more bottles of rum. The music was a perfectly suited mix of Latin jazz and dance played lightly as to not interrupt conversation. Crowd Located inside of a resort, everyone I was surrounded with were out of town guests. The sunburnt faces added to that feel. It appeared like the bar was a perfect meeting place for groups to organize before heading to a more formal dinner. However, a small family also chose to enjoy some bites here as well. It felt like a good spot for a drink either before or after dinner. Service As could be expected at a fancy resort, the bartender was excellent. Both friendly and efficient, he kindly chatted up all the patrons sitting around the bar area. Parking To get close to the Ritz the only choice is valet parking which will run you $25. Luckily the event I headed to afterwards provided complimentary valet because the other cheap option is much less convenient. Street parking exists outside the gated area near the park, but expect a hot and humid stroll that is a bit far. Extra Now Rum Bar may not a destination in itself, but I think it is a necessary spot to check out if you are staying at the Ritz or are going to one of the other restaurants located on the property. Either way you know you will be spending some money, which will make the drink prices a bit easy to swallow. But it really is the atmosphere that is incredible and not at all what I expected.

Yelp
WOWOWOWOW!!! This HAS to be one of the coolest bars I've been to this year so far... and at the risk of sounding like a "lush," I've been to hundreds of bars and this one is BAD@$$! Walking into Rum Bar's dimly lit room you instantly get this romantic, intimate vibe. There's mood lighting, the bar is elegant and lit up really cool, book cases full of rum line the walls and then there's these giant comfy leather chairs that my wife and I immediately gravitated towards and just sank into ha. As we sat there sinking into these cushiony leather chairs, a smiling waitress came over, greeted us with some water, plantain chips and bar menu. 5 gold stars for anyone who comes bearing food, menus and a smile haha. Before we looked at the menu and because we such avid cocktail enthusiasts, we put our barman to "The TEST." The Test is something we came up with. Whenever we visit a new cocktail bar, we ask our bartender to make one of the classics... a Negroni, a French 75, an Aviation, or an Old Fashioned... you get it. I know, I know... This is SUPER pretentious, BUT, if he/she passes our little stupid test then we feel wayyyy comfortable spending dollar after dollar buying drinks from them and being a return customer haha. That being said, we ordered a French 75 cocktail and Anthony (our bartender that night) knocked it OUT OF THE MF PARK!!! Commence the drinking! I next ordered a Hemmingway Daiquiri, followed by a Caribbean Storm, and then a rum Old Fashioned, followed by a rum tasting flight that Anthony personally curated to my liking. You see what I mean? Pass our "test," we buy more haha. Anthony, the bartender that evening, was such a great dude! Kept us laughing, kept us entertained with great convo and made our cocktails in a timely manner! Overall, this bar was one of my favorite experiences at the Ritz-Carlton and we will def be returning sometime soon :)

Yelp
Went here on a whim after doing a run down on the paths in Bill Baggs state park. We were a little apprehensive about doing a bar in the Ritz Carlton (especially while looking like a sweaty hot mess), but I'm really glad we came in. Anthony the bartender was warm and welcoming, and gave us a great rundown on the history of Rum Bar, and the variety of what they have. We got mixed drinks, the El Floridita and classic mojito. Both were excellent. I'd definitely recommend this place. It's a beautiful spot with great employees.

Yelp
Rumbar has a pop up bar for Halloween - The House of Spells. We had a really fun time. We went during the week day, and the staff was not in costume which was a bit disappointing. Also, the drinks weren't served with dry ice as advertised, which was also a bit disappointing. That said, they had live entertainment on a Thursday night playing very good music. The bar snacks were also very large in portion size and very delicious. For the price, I was pleasantly surprised to see the size of the snacks (see pics I am attaching). We ordered the Kraken Sea Creature Dip (warm crab and artichoke dip with pita) and the Tombstone Flatbread (mushroom, truffle and arugula flatbread). The cocktails were also very good. My husband had the Witch's Brew (no special presentation) and I had the Vampire Kiss (which is served in a blood bag). Overall, the decor was very nice for pics, the music was very entertaining, the food was delicious and the portions were fabulous. Also, if you want a larger meal, you can also order from the restaurant menu which they will serve in the bar setting. I recommend trying it out if you want to try something different and if you are in the Halloween spirit.

Yelp
The drinks are fantastic. The Rum selection is endless. I felt like I was at home with friends as the bar is super friendly and cozy! They have assorted cigars for the consumer which is a nice touch. The lighting is soft and elegant, Its was my favorite things about the Ritz-Carlton in Key Biscayne, I love the low mood lighting and nice atmosphere. Nice to unwind and have a drink after a long flight!!!

Yelp
There is no flash here, just a classic, dark, watering-hole, with plush chairs and stiff drinks. Come here as the clock nears closing time, when you don't want or need distractions, just a smooth pour and a conversation. One of my favorite late-but-not-too-late-night bars. One comes for two or three drinks, never to get sloppy. The first drink should be had outside, sitting on the sand, listening to the waves. Second and third rounds, sipped slowly sitting in the cozy, albeit masculine, dark room. This being a classic bar, I wouldn't deviate too much from the traditional cocktails on the menu. Save the fizzy, elaborate, convoluted, and now almost cliche -tinis, -itos, and -itas for other establishments. The house specialty here is rum but they'll serve you plenty more. They do have a drink named after Hemingway, which I always find fitting for this throwback.

Yelp
The bar inside the Ritz Carlton is nicely decorated. There was one bartender and one customer and the customer the bartender was more interested in a detailed conversation with the one customer then to serve us. He asked us if we could wait a minute I told him no go ahead and finish your conversation with the other customer and we'll go someplace else.

Yelp
Rumbar is VERY cool. Through its latin music, dark wood and comfortable furniture, this bar combines the impeccable service and the laid back energy of the Ritz with a world-class rum menu. Anthony, one of the bartenders, has an impressive knowledge of drink selections and is happy to pass it along. Prices are steep, but the experience is worth the money.

Yelp
The Spread: Seeking a quick dinner after a long day of travel, I popped into the lobby bar and ordered two appetizers. HUGE portions for both the (tuna tartar) Tostones Rellenos and the Ropa Vieja Empanadas. The tuna on the tostones lacked flavor, but I enjoyed the garlic aioli, which tasted like it had a bit of wasabi in it, and the plantain chips, which were extra chewy and crispy. The empanadas were flavorful and moist. The Scene: The place describes itself as a Havana-style bar. It's a dimly-lit, tropical, comfortable setting with rich, dark wood accents. The Service: Pretty awful. I overheard the server say it was his second day at work, but man, that excuse can only get you so far! It took forever to get the server's attention while seated at the bar to place a to go order. (I watched a colleague also get ignored for a solid 10-15 minutes after she received the menu. And when she finally flagged him down, and said she was ready, his reply was "Oh, you're really ready this time?") The food came out beautifully plated...but I'd asked for it to go. And when I opened up the containers in my room, it was clear that the to go presentation was NOT a priority. Someone had thrown the contents haphazardly into the to go boxes. How disappointing.

Yelp
I give this place a 5 star review for 3 reasons: 1. More types of Rum than I know what to do with (wait I know exactly what I should do ) 2. Great service! My bartender listened to me when I said my mojito was a tad on the sweet side so he added much more rum and seltzer when my drink was already half empty! 3. Great ambience, they are going for an old Havana feel with dark wood and big leather couches/chairs. Made me want a cigar, even though I don't like them! The ambience doesn't feel cheesy either (like most places in miami) And oh yah, their salted nut mix at the bar is so good, making you thirsty for some more awesome rum.

Yelp
Alex and Anthony are true professionals when it comes to entertaining guest and making patrons feel welcome, they are top notch These gentlemen make great drinks and run a exceptional bar. These guys are some of the best in the game. Hospitality is their forte. One of the best experiences I've had recently thank you gentlemen.

Yelp
The Rum Bar is located in the Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne. They have tons rums, cachaca, and piscos from 18 different countries, and a pretty decent cigar selection. The bar has a vintage Habana feel to it and a Latin band plays Thursday- Saturday nights. It's a nice place to stop by and have a couple of drinks. They even had a mojito list. I tried 3 of them and they were all great. The crowd is definitely older, but I'd rather that than one of 21 year-olds getting trashed and vomiting under a table.

Yelp
My husband and I opted to have some drinks and a low key dinner here while staying at the Ritz. We were there on a Saturday night during off-season and there were only a handful of people there, so I'm not sure if the experience is different other times of the year. Ambiance: Rum Bar is located directly off the lobby of the hotel but has a completely different feel to it. While the lobby is open and airy, the decor of the bar is a bit dark and very masculine which provides a cozy and intimate feel. There are a variety of seating options that provide the perfect setting for any occasion (whether you're just grabbing a few drinks or enjoying a late night snack). While I can't see this place appealing to the younger party-seekers, this would definitely be a great setting for an outing with a close knit group of friends or for a date. Service: Our server was great - he checked back often and made sure we had everything we needed. No issues here! Food: The menu had a decent variety of options from small bites to pizzas to sushi, and they can accommodate almost any request. We were given small bowls of mixed nuts and plantain chips when we were seated which were perfect for snacking on while soaking in the atmosphere (or waiting for your food to arrive!) We opted to split a pizza which worked out quite well. The pizza was good, nothing spectacular, but certainly hit the spot and was more than enough for both of us. We also shared a piece of the chocolate cake for dessert and again, it was good but nothing special. I suspect the food comes from the same kitchen that provides room service as their main focus here is obviously on drinks. Apparently they have a sushi chef on-site certain evenings, so that might be a better way to go. The drinks that we had were all great - you definitely can't go wrong there! Prices: Beers were about $7 each and specialty drinks seemed to range anywhere from $10-$16. Food was slightly more reasonable but certainly not cheap. Overall we enjoyed the relaxing and classic atmosphere of Rum Bar. I don't think it's necessarily a great destination on it's own, but if you're staying at the hotel or in the area it's certainly a good option.

Yelp
Rum Bar is a great place to have cocktails. My fiance and I went for the first time just last weekend and we will definitely be going back. Alex was behind the bar on Saturday night. He made a stiff martini (with Bombay Sapphire). I had my first with two queen olives and the second with a lemon twist. My fiance had a couple of Manhattans with Canadian Club. She said they were smooth. She was right - I took a sip and almost ordered one myself but decided against mixing. Aside from making great cocktails, Alex delivered impeccable service. He was reserved and friendly at the same time - no pretense. He even layed out some munchies - mariquitas and mixed nuts. True to our Cuban culture, we devoured the mariquitas. What can I say? It's in my blood. The bar is dark - dim lighting, dark wood, dark furniture, and dark bar. It's a classy place to sit back and enjoy some cocktails. For the rum enthusiast, this is paradise. There are over 50 rums.

Yelp
Genre for rating: bar This is a quaint, cozy rum bar at the Ritz Key Biscayne. It's definitely worth the stop in while you are on the key. Besides a vast offering of rums from around the world, they also have a surprisingly tasty small bites menu and a handful of cigar choices, which you can enjoy on the outside seating area. Food: *** Service: **** Atmosphere: ***** What I get: a unique rum, snapper or cheese plate
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Ridiculously overpriced drinks poured with a stingy hand. But, the fish and chip appetizer could serve as a fairly good dinner at a reasonable price point compared to the other food service options at this hotel. Only comfortable if you can score one of the couches. Head out to Dune, the burger bar and talk to Gino. He will set you up with reasonable drinks.

Yelp
The Rum Bar is located inside the Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne. It's right off the main lobby and has been recently remodeled. It has a colonial tropical decor. Come here on the weekends and you can hear the live Latin band playing in the lobby. Nice place to unwind and have a conversation over drinks, although drink are pricey. We were given a bowl of assorted nuts to snack on while we waited for our drinks. Service is top notch as you would expect in the Ritz. The crowd is on the older side.

Yelp
Anthony and Isabel are phenomenal. Best cocktail and service in a terrific ambiance at a fair price.

Yelp
Rumbar is my favorite bar in Miami. The bartender, Alex Rodriguez is phenomenal! He always remembers my preferences and goes above and beyond to ensure that I'm taken care of. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Alex was great! his knowledge of the rums and descriptions were spot on. i highly recommend the "bartender's choice" flight of sipping rums. you will NOT be disappointed. i can't wait to enjoy some more time at this bar!

Yelp
Great bar great barkeep....loved how he was able to turn all of our classic cocktails into rum infused hybrid cocktails.

Yelp
This bar is a beautiful bar. It is very classy and has a wonderful ambiance. It is located inside the magnificent Ritz Carlton in Key Biscayne that radiates elegance, so naturally this bar is amazing. They have very rare rums which are exquisite. Not to mention,m if you are a Mojito lover like me, where else can you get an amazing Mojito but at a Rum Bar. It has a cozy and intimate atmosphere. The service is top-notch. This bar looks like a dark tropical cigar bar. It has the dark red walls and dark wood furnishings. Inside you can hear Latin music played in the lobby in the weekends. I very highly recommend this bar.

Jerry S.

Yelp
Worst cigar experience of my life. Almost $30 for a standard Romeo and Julieta. *After* purchasing it, I was informed I was not able to smoke indoors, so they had to find a place for me to sit outside. While they were very accommodating, they were not prepared at all for a customer intending to smoke a cigar they just sold. They didn't even have a torch to lend out to patrons. Lastly, their claim that they have an "extensive cigar collection" is laughable; they must have had no more than 20 different kinds of cigars and were missing many popular ones. I mistakenly assumed Rumbar to be a cigar lounge given the images of the dark, lounge-style furniture I saw online, which was my fault. But for the price Rumbar charges for cigars, you would think they would at least be able to give you a light or have some sort of protocol for sitting you outside in a pre-designated area. Very disappointing experience, especially for a Ritz!
