I recently dined at the Mediterranean Turkish restaurant Rumi and was thoroughly impressed. The ambiance was warm and inviting, the service was impeccable, and the food was absolutely delicious. The Rumi Family Mixed Grill was a standout, showcasing the chef's skill and attention to detail. The staff were attentive and made sure every aspect of our meal was perfect. One more additional comment: Clean restaurant and supper clean restroom. I highly recommend Rumi restaurant to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience. I will definitely be returning soon!

This place kept coming up on my Uber Eats and my family and I decided to try it in-person. The food was amazing and the service was lovely. We will definitely be coming back!

We had the cold appetizer platter (tried 5 different kinds) and their grilled platter. We had their desserts at the end. Everything was delicious and portions were generous! Their desserts were perfect — definitely try them out! Arkan (the owner — I hope I have the spelling right) was so kind and even introduced himself. Service, food and atmosphere is excellent! Definitely bringing our friends here.

Came here for lunch on a weekday and it was fantastic. I ordered the lunch special of kefte with labni and shepherd’s salad. Everything was delicious and portions were perfect. The atmosphere was very pleasant and everything was clean. I will definitely be coming back to eat here again.

The food here is absolutely incredible!! Since it has opened, we've either dined in or ordered take out about once a week. The portions are big, and the staff is always so kind and friendly. We typically order the appetizer plate, chicken or lamb shish, lamb doner, and always get a Turkish tea/coffee. 10000/10 recommend coming here! Also BYOB which is always a plus

We had dinner with our family in this great Turkish restaurant. The hospitality of the staff is out of this world, owner of the place was very friendly and provided us exceptional service. The interior design is also thrilling and creatively done to have elements of the Turkish culture in a very modern setting. We had mixed grill and mixed appetizer platter everything was fresh, juicy and very very delicious. Their dessert selection is a true delight for any sweet tooth, we had kazandibi and trilice with turkish tea, every bite of it was just masterpiece. From the service to the ambiance, everything put together to leave a mark on our dining experience. Highly recommended!

Unbelievable!!! BEST Turkish food I've ever had, and I have it every chance I get with my Turkish colleagues and friends. Mixed grill is plenty for two, the value is definitely there. Liver cubes are authentic, juicy, flavorful. You cannot go wrong. Every veggie you can tell is chopped fresh, every thing cooked when you order. The owner is a fantastic person too. We'll be back.

Service was great for a Monday night. We got immediate attention and our server was polite. Food was very good and tasty. This food tastes authentic, healthy and yummy! It's very filling I had the gyro and was able to take my other half for lunch the next day. Ambiance was decent seems like a good spot to get a quick bite or even a casual date.

Nice dining area with comfy chairs. Service was excellent. Hummus was tasty and served with pita. I had chicken Adana which was cooked well but needed alittle more seasoning. My husband had the Iskander and he also wanted alittle more spice and he said the bread was alittle too thin - he likes thicker bread with this dish. We got the Baklava for dessert. I do like this place - just wish they'd up the spice a bit.

My go to dinner spot. I'm always greeted immediately and the servers are attentive. The intimate dining room is where I enjoy the best falafel in the area. My go to with every meal is hummus and calamari. The Grilled Branzino Filet was too dry for me.

Always a good go to spot. A little Bloomfield gem. Staff always nice and make you fell at home. Had the pleasure of meeting two great young people new to Jersey. Such a wonderful experience this was today. Not only was the food delicious and fresh but the service was fantastic as well. Absolutely recommend it for its food and ambiance. I would definitely like to hear some traditional music to add to the experience. Overall I'd go back. 10/10

Small local place. The staff was wonderful and very attentive. The food was fresh and well seasoned. It's a byob so bring your favorite bottle of wine and enjoy :)

Food was amazing. Meats were super tender and juicy. We got the platter for 2ppl and all of them did not disappoint. Also we got their almond and chocolate pudding for dessert they are the best pudding so far I've ever had. I will be surely be coming back for moreeee. Service was great they were all friendly and helpful.

This place opened recently in the old Glenwood Diner, and the interior looks really nice and updated from the old decor. The staff was friendly and helpful. I looked in the dessert case, and a staff member came over to tell me what everything was. They all looked good! I got a gyro to go, and the gyros are described as coming with "served with lettuce, onions, pickles and french fries" as having a side of fries, not fries inside the gyro, as I've never seen a place do that. The wording doesn't say it's on the side, but I think that's more expected and for the price, a side would have made sense. It came with a side of sauce, and the gyro was tasty. This place has some really promising items and nice atmosphere. There is some parking in a lot or street parking available. It's nice to see a new business in the area.

I catered my first order and the food was very delicious and fresh. The owner added a few desserts no charge which was very thoughtful and generous

Very quaint inside but very cold. The restroom was absolutely freezing. We both had the Lamb Doner Shawarma dinner. Sliced very thin, not much flavor. It was served with a salad, no flavor either. No sauce served. It would be nice if entree was served with some hummus or Tzatziki sauce. Our entrees were not served together which was very odd. I had to wait 6 more minutes for my entree to arrive and we had the same dish. Staff was very friendly.

Place looked appealing from the outside. Service was decent. However the food itself was very bland. My chicken shish looked as if it was cooked in oil versus grille. It was tough and dry and lacked true flavor. Apart from that they don't serve the true Turkish bread but instead offer pita with the hummus.

The quality of the food is OK. But for the price? No way. They act like this place is in Soho or the West Village or something. It's not even that good. I live in Brooklyn, spend $10 less and the food tastes better and it comes with way more food.

What a lovely ambiance. So cheerful and fully committed to service AND exceptional food. You feel transported to Turkey. It's so lovely and the food to go with it. Excellent authentic Turkish food served by an incredibly friendly and efficient staff! Bring your appetite and a-lot of friends so you could try a bunch of things like we did. Everything was just delicious from the various dips and pita to the giant sampler board of various meats. We topped it off with an assortment of desserts and some Turkish coffee. Will def be back!

Four of us went to RUMI last evening for dinner. Everything was great appetizers delicious entrées very good desserts excellent and sweet. Waitstaff flawless . We will be returning soon for another enjoyable evening.

I don't think this restaurant needs another great review, but I have to chime in. The place is nice and immaculate! The food absolutely outstanding. I had the Turkish tea which was delicious, the hummus, and the falafel wrap. The falafel wrap had french fries and a little bit of pickle in it. That was surprising but it was amazing. My husband had the lamb platter and he can't wait to go back to have it again. And my husband is super picky. . The staff are kind and attentive and overall this was an exceptional experience. We live 40 minutes away, but we will surely be back! Try it. I don't think you will be disappointed. My mouth is watering already lol.

This is a charming little restaurant with great food and a wonderful wait staff. I highly recommend the mixed platter for 2. Our waiter was so nice he comped us this delicious rice pudding and Turkish tea. We will certainly be going back

Rumi was the perfect place to celebrate a friend's birthday! We were able to make a reservation for 8 online, and they were ready to accommodate us with no issues. The staff were all friendly & informative. The food was all so delicious! We loved the cigar rolls, babaganoush, and stuffed grape leaves as our appetizers. All the entrees came out fresh & delicious as well. They had a great atmosphere, fun music, and even played the birthday song when it was time for the birthday cake! Will definitely be coming back. Thank you!

What a SPECTACULAR restaurant with amazing food and pleasant staff! I am almost sad that I am moving out of the area because this is some of the best Turkish / Mediterranean food I have ever had. The portions are very generous, with flavorful options. My husband and I have been here a couple of times since they opened, and we leave STUFFED with leftovers to enjoy the next day. Do yourself a favor and check out this new restaurant because they deserve to be a Bloomfield fixture for the next hundred years!

The food is just wonderful. The service is attentive and friendly. . Cold appetizers like lebni, esme, baba ganoush are rich, flavorful. Lunch special is a great value at $20. Main courses do not disappoint, either. A fantastic addition to Bloomfield! Give Rumí a try!

Just had lunch here the other day. The food was very good, fresh and flavorful. The owners are super nice. There is a special lunch menu during the week that includes soup or salad, an appetizer, the meal and a soda. I've been back a few times now and everything is still wonderfully fresh and delicious. And the Turkish coffee, tea and desserts are good too.

We had a medium sized party of 12 here. The restaurant was clean...the staff so responsive and attentive, the food was delicious... Two in our party have restrictive diets but that did not stop them from enjoying the ample portions and great variety of options. Really excellent Turkish cuisine! Highly recommend!

As a commercial pilot....I've been lucky enough to travel all over the world and try authentic dishes.....well...I can strike Istanbul off my bidding list. The food at Rumi is as authentic as if I was traveling abroad! ALL the dishes are OUTSTANDING. I drool as I pull into the parking lot. The atmosphere is like a 5 star restaurant! The entire staff, from Owner to busboy are seeking to exceed your wants, needs, and expectations!! It's like they have 2 MICHELIN stars, and are seeking their third!! The dinning room is super clean, and cozy, providing for an excellent atmosphere for almost any kind of dining experience. So if you wanna save the 12 hours of travel time and some serious jet lag...take a short trip in a fraction of the time to Rumi in Bloomfield! Definitely worth the trip!!

Was out one night with my partner we decided we wanted to grab something to eat, happened to pass by Rumi and decided to go in. I am so happy we did. The food was on the money. We had the Lebni with pita; absolutely fresh and tasty. We each had a gyro wrap. Mine was lamb and my partner had the chicken. Both had plenty of flavor and very filling. We decided to take a look at the desserts on display and take some home. The owner came over to us and explained each dessert to us. As we asked for our desserts to go the owner offered us fresh brewed Turkish tea and a small plate with two cookies. He said it was on the house. I thought this was very thoughtful. We had a very nice conversation with him about the restaurant and everything in between. I will definitely be back. This place is a hidden gem in Bloomfield.

If you want authentic Mediterranean food, you MUST pay a visit to Rumi located on Glenwood Ave in Bloomfield. Went there over the weekend and was blown away by the food. Their chicken orzo soup was delicious. Had fresh homemade hummus with pita as an appetizer. For main course, the chicken shish kabob served with rice, grilled tomato and hot pepper, and thinly sliced onions drizzled with olive oil was the best I've ever had. Truly! Service was outstanding and we were treated like family. The ambiance is so beautiful and parking at the door. Do yourself a favor, try Rumi. You will be most pleased!

Delightful team. Good food. We've only done take out thus far, and it helps to remind the team that it is take out (and will keep cooking til it gets home!) so they leave it just right and it doesn't become overcooked in transit. But tasty!

Really good food, the lavash is amazing! The waiters are super nice and considerate. We had brought baklava from Turkey and they let us eat it inside and we shared it with the staff, it was a very wholesome time. The walls are filled with Rumi's poetry and quotes!

Excellent food, top quality Turkish food the Adana Chicken was my favorite and Cypress dessert is a must and please don't share with anyone you will regret. It is beyond delicious. And the people are very nice and polited. The chairs are so comfortable that make you feel you don't want to leave. Give 10 starts !! Also the Decoration also very pleasant with blue color super nice taste.

Went to Branchbrook Park for cherry blossoms and found this cafe on internet. The place is small and very inviting. The owner was very accomodating and friendly. The food was superb! It is a byob. We enjoyed a delicious lunch and will try to get back there. It has a small parking lot. The owner explained dishes we did not know about and we tried items we didn't think we might like but loved everyone of them.
