Rung Rueang Pork Noodle

"Depending on your appetite, choose between a small or large portion of clear minced pork soup and perfectly flavoured tom yum broth. Each steaming bowl is topped with homemade fish balls and, if you so fancy, crispy fish skin. The minced pork balls are also a highlight." - Michelin Inspector

Came after 1pm and still crowded. This is an excellent and very popular Michelin rated restaurant that serves street food noodles. The noodle was exquisite and tasteful even without soup. Pork balls were cold but yet delicious. The drinks were extremely soothing particularly in this heat and spicy dish (I added myself their homemade chili). Service was fast and obviously efficient. Advice: choose small portion and with soup, particularly if it’s your first venture into Thai street noodle style. If you crave for more, try other noodle and soup type. Like this you can easily try a variety of them. The price is very affordable especially for a restaurant

This place is a little intimidating for foreigners like me, but it’s really quite straightforward. Just read the menu carefully and order with confidence. The soup and noodles are tasty, the vibe is very lively at lunch, and it’s of course a very “eat and go” environment. This lends it to being a great quick and casual lunch option if you’re in this area.

Have not been here for years. Still serving good food. Quality apparently remains despite the hype of Michelin. Love their pork soup noodle with mixed part. The pork ball is good as well. If you are tomyum lover, you maybe just order their tomyum.

Go during off peak hours. Their rice noodle minced pork soup is my personal favourite—light, flavourful, and so satisfying. The broth is clear but rich, and the minced pork is seasoned just right. Simple, honest, and consistently good. Highly recommended if you’re in the area and want something warm and delicious!

This well-known Michelin spot really didn’t disappoint. I ordered the dry noodles (non-spicy) so good I ended up getting another bowl of Tom Yum soup noodles (spicy). Also tried the fish skin and chrysanthemum tea both were amazing! The only downside was that I went close to closing time, so they were out of fish balls :(

A Local Legend — Rung Rueng Pork Noodles is a Must-Visit in Bangkok! If you’re in Bangkok and looking for an authentic local food experience, Rung Rueng Pork Noodle is one place you absolutely can’t miss. This humble noodle shop has been around for decades, and once you take your first bite, you’ll immediately understand why it’s so beloved by both locals and tourists alike. The star of the show is the pork noodle—offered in soup or dry versions, with your choice of noodles (I personally loved the thin egg noodles). The broth is incredibly rich and flavorful, simmered to perfection with deep pork flavors but still light enough to sip till the very last drop. It’s not too salty, not too oily—just a perfect balance of taste and comfort. The dry noodle version is equally satisfying, tossed with a slightly tangy and spicy sauce, topped with crushed peanuts and bits of crispy pork lard that give it that irresistible texture. The pork slices are tender, the meatballs are bouncy and flavorful, and the liver is fresh and perfectly cooked—none of that grainy or overcooked texture you sometimes find elsewhere. What I also appreciated is how fast and efficient everything was. Despite the long line, the staff handled everything quickly and with precision. You’ll usually be seated within minutes, and the food arrives piping hot almost instantly. They clearly know what they’re doing here—it’s a well-oiled machine of noodle perfection. The place itself is clean and simple—don’t expect anything fancy, but that’s part of the charm. It’s straightforward, no-frills, and focused 100% on what matters: good food. Prices are super reasonable, especially for the quality you’re getting. I ended up ordering a second bowl just because the first one was so good, and honestly, I could’ve gone for a third if I had more room. Highly, highly recommend Rung Rueng to anyone visiting Bangkok. Whether you’re on a food hunt, just passing by Sukhumvit, or need a quick and satisfying meal, this spot delivers in every way. A true taste of Bangkok street food culture—simple, soulful, and unforgettable.

• Environment • At first glance, the shop looks like one large establishment spanning two shop lots. However, as our local guide explained, the two sections—despite sharing the same name and branding—are actually run by different family members. This may result in slight differences in taste between the two. The seating consists of typical light metal tables you’d find in many Bangkok street-side eateries. The entrance was bustling, with several Line Man delivery drivers waiting to pick up orders. • Food/Beverage • The food was comforting and satisfying. You can fully customize your noodle bowl, choosing the type of noodles, whether you want it dry or with soup, and the toppings like pork slices, fishballs, and more. We also ordered drinks to go along with the meal, which surprisingly came in bottled form. • Service • While there wasn’t much direct interaction with the staff, the ordering process was efficient, and the food came out relatively quickly despite the crowd. • Conclusion • A local gem with a bit of character. Great for a quick, soulful bowl of pork noodles in Bangkok—just be mindful that each side of the shop might give you a slightly different experience depending on who’s cooking.

We arrived early around 8:30am on Saturday morning, still plenty of seats. The noodles are very delicious. We chose the small size so that we can sample multiple different styles (soup, dry, tom yum, clear soup etc). One of the best noodles in Bangkok and will definitely visit again.
