The 9 Best Cookies In London

"Cookie of choice: dark chocolate and miso (or the elusive banoffee) The cookies served at London Fields’ Running Late Coffee, courtesy of Netil Market stall Mamma G Cookies, are handmade by an investment banker who quit his day job to make cookies full time. Outside of offering a promising plot twist for the narrative arc of Industry, we are here to say that this coffee shop's cookies are the antithesis of mortgage chat. They’re very sweet and chunky, and are destined for milk-dipping and profound whispers about banoffee. If you’re more of a grown-up flavours enthusiast, the subtle saltiness of the dark chocolate and miso cookie will hit the spot. They’re all great paired with Running Late’s brews.  " - rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, daisy meager

Running Late Coffee Review - London Fields - London - The Infatuation

"Are you currently a resident of Mare Street in Hackney? If yes, congratulations, you share a postcode with an excellent takeaway cafe that has a handwritten poem about coffee on the wall. If not, be warned that this teeny, tiny neighbourhood spot is likely to cause some zealous E8 Zoopla behaviour. Running Late Coffee’s chilli red branding is on point, the dark chocolate and miso cookie is chunky and hypnotically chewy, and the name speaks to us on a level that can only be understood if you’re our line manager. It’s owned and run by a couple of Irish mates who really know their coffee, so it’s a no-brainer for a caffeine kick, but it’s also worth going out of your way for the olive oil and brie masterclass that is the aubergine quiche. There isn’t any seating inside but if the weather’s nice, set up camp on one of the benches outside or go for a walk and introduce your cookie to London Fields. video credit: Koray Firat video credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat photo credit: Koray Firat video credit: Koray Firat Food Rundown photo credit: Koray Firat Dark Chocolate Miso Cookie A chocolate chip cookie for people who own under-eye serums and worry about being caught for not paying their TV licence. The bitterness of the dark chocolate makes the buttery dough taste even better and the saltiness of the miso keeps the sweetness in check. photo credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookie The cookies here are of the Ben’s Cookies school of sweet treat—as you weren’t friends with us at the age of 13, please know that this is a very high accolade and not a dig. They’re thick, gooey, and have that subtle, golden baked char on top. The dash of salt is great and avoids any ‘why am I consuming half a pack of Maldon when I just wanted a little treat’ woes. photo credit: Heidi Lauth Beasley Banoffee Cookie This cookie, this cookie, this cookie. Firstly, it actually tastes of banana, rather than those flavoured antibiotics of your youth. Secondly, the caramelised centre channels Dairy Milk Caramel in the best way possible. A want, a need, a must-order. Quiche Finally, a quiche with sex appeal. Forget any gritty little flecks of bacon and instead enjoy a rich, olive oil medley of baby potatoes, roasted aubergine, and tangy brie. The crust is excellent. Also, it’s not always on—sorry for being a tease." - Heidi Lauth Beasley

My boyfriend and I have a long list of coffee places we want to try in London - Running Late is definitely one of our favourites. The barista was super friendly telling us about all the cakes and indulging my partner explaining the really cool loyalty card system. The selection of cakes were great - we had a brownie and a Guinness cake and they were super tasty. We also had two flat whites which were really nice. A cute little coffee shop!

Unbelievable service and a lovely little shop. Would recommend the trip to see the shop alone or if you are local, this definitely should become your regular coffee spot. We were down from Glasgow and it was well worth the visit out East!

Great new spot in Hackney serving the best flat whites going round. Delicious selection of cakes, cookies and treats sourced from local suppliers. And of course super friendly service from Tom & Sean. My new favourite local :)

People who understand 100% what coffee shops should be. (It's not really about the coffee...) — even if theirs is absolutely delicious. You go there because the staff lifts you up, because of their social events, because it's a meeting point, because it's just a place of pure joy. The coffee, it's just the cherry on top. They should be running a global school for how to run a café properly. Absolutely perfect.

I got myself one espresso, so I can judge the flavour and texture, and then I got a latte just to enjoy and of course one bag of beans! The guy who’s doing and selling the coffee should be protected by law, he’s an amazing person 🙏
