BUYER BEWARE- THIS REPAIR FACILITY MAY CHARGE YOU $700 FOR A $40 REPAIR!
I had my 1950's vintage Rolex watch sent to the Rolex Lititz Service Center because the minute and hour hands were not moving. I had the same watch fully overhauled by Rolex in 2014 for over $1,000, so I was naturally disappointed.
Rolex received my watch by mail then quoted $700 stating that the "timepiece has been out of production for many years; limited parts are available." Concerned with the expense, particularly since it had been overhauled by them just 4 years earlier, I refused the repair and took the watch to a local watch specialist. The specialist repaired the watch in a few days for $40, the hands were simply touching one another and needed to be separated. No parts were required. As a courtesy, before writing this review, I contacted Rolex and spoke to Wendy about the discrepancy with their fee and their explanation about "limited parts" (which were not required). They really had no valid explanation.
I urge you to check other's reviews (i.e. through yelp) before having your watch sent to Rolex for repair. Based on my experience you may also be charged $700 for a $40 repair.
