After a Nordstrom lap, Ruscello’s tomato basil soup is essential - Review - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Whether the day was spent pursuing unnecessary home goods or braving the millionth Anniversary Sale, chances are everyone needs a reliable and low-key meal at Ruscello, formerly (and affectionately) known as Nordstrom Cafe. The name may have changed, but the soothing, soft brown interiors and cushy booths are still the same—and so is that creamy tomato basil soup. Someone will have to sedate us before they ever get rid of it." - Kayla Sager-Riley

Attentive, friendly service offsets a mostly dim, stuffy department store restaurant with a forgettable, casual American menu. Ask for a window seat

This cafe is located upstairs in Nordstroms. Nice place to eat. We ordered one avocado & turkey sandwich with house salad to share and they automatically split the plate for us without us asking. Quick and friendly service. It wasn't very busy and we went around 1 pm. Prices were a bit pricey but decent if a plate was shared.

You can never go wrong with the Nordstrom restaurant, my brother and have been their customers for a long time, always had great food! Many thanks to the chef, and personnel.

Went in at 2:50 pm on a Sunday evening. I do not regret coming in . At first i was a bit unsure of what to order considering how small the menu was so i decided to ask the server for her opinion. She ended up recommending a meatball pasta which i loved so much. If i could go back tn i would. The only concerning thing is the size of the plate. It is a very small portion and didn’t even get me full. Luckily i ate my girlfriends food otherwise i would’ve had to order a second plate. Besides the serving portion every thing else including service was great. Would recommend for those who are curious and want to try it out.

Some Nordstrom Cafés (Now Marketplace cafe) did not offer the same menu but nowadays I started to notice that most Nordstrom Cafés offer the same menu which is a great news to me. Because back in the days when this bread pudding was not offered at most locations I had to go find the Nordstrom Café that offered this dish. A few years ago it was only offered at Lynnwood and Tacoma Nordstrom cafes in the greater Seattle area. The size was way bigger - see my 3rd photo - and the price was just a little higher too but that was better honestly. Now, the portion got reduced in half and the price has reduced a little but the taste and the quality have remained the same for my favorite dish - bread pudding. In my opinion, this is the best dessert you can get out of anywhere. Pretty high calories though, close to 1k if you eat it all including the whip cream and white chocolate that is molten on the dish. I still don’t care about calories when it comes to desserts and I will always go to Nordstrom café for this dish as long as they have it.

The menu features a good selection of hot and cold lunch items, including soups salads and sandwiches. Service is fast and friendly.

Google
We usually come to this location a lot and get Ashley as our waitress and she’s amazing ! Always has great customer service and gets our order right. Recently we came in and had a tall blonde/brownish short hair be our waitress, and we kind of felt non existent, she was talking to a male customer for most of the time so I had to ask another waitress for things that we needed.

Yelp
I know, who thinks of eating a department store? But, I promise it's worth considering. There are a lot of options when in Southcenter, but if you are in the mall and want a chill environment the quality and freshness of the soups and salad is worth the contemplating. Most salads come with an option of protein. I've tried the Asian, Niscoise, and Autumn salads. All delicious. It is a tad pricey for the portion, but then most portions in restaurants are a little larger than our recommended daily allowance. It's an experience to lunch in a store, try it even just once

Yelp
Nordstrom cafe used to be good. This is the third time in a row I have visited and left disappointed. The quality isn't there anymore. Wont be returning

Yelp
My absolutely favorite spot for weekend brunch! The service is quick and nice! I always get cilantro lime salad and a cup of tomato basil soup! Always make my weekend fulfilled :)

Yelp
I've have to the Tacoma Mall Nordstrom restaurant a few times but this was my first time eating at the Tukwila Nordstrom restaurant at the top floor. I went with my best friend and we really enjoyed the cilantro chicken tacos here ! I also had a small cup of the tomato soup which was also quite tasty and satisfying. The cup of soup and tacos are very small and more like appetizers but we wanted just a small meal today. I have recently gone on a diet and I'm very serious about losing weight as I've come dangerously close to developing serious health problems like diabetes so I was glad to find a place with lighter and smaller options. We were gonna go to homegrown which has natural and healthy options but most of their menu items sold out by the time we got to the mall. The ambiance is very nice here as is the service. Great place for a lunch with a friend !

Yelp
stopped by for a late lunch. there were plenty of tables open and the waitstaff was friendly and prompt. i had a beer with a burger and fries. unfortunately about an hour after i left i got an extremely upset stomach, now i'm wondering if i might have gotten food poisoning. definitely a bummer because the meal was actually pretty tasty and affordable.

Yelp
Didnt know every Nordstrom has a restaurant? Stumbled on this place last minute looking for somewhere to eat dinner, grateful we found this place in Southcenter shopping mall (Tukwila, WA). We were their last seating for the night but the restaurant was super empty only had 2 other tables than ours? Thats not a good sign but service was exceptional. Server was nice and didn't rush us knowing they were closing in a hour or so. The restaurant is large compared to Ruscello in Honolulu, very spacious and high ceilings, it also has a nice window looking out at parking lot but nice view of trees in the background. Food blew me away, it was so good, nothing wasn't good that we ordered, was so full when we left, had to roll us out. Highly suggest if you in the area try this place out, pictures below of what we ordered.

Yelp
High quality food, generally very flavorful and filling throughout the different Nordstrom cafes. Some locations have different menu. Nordstrom customer service. Risotto at Tacoma Nordstrom cafe was amazing. Penne bolognese here at Nordstrom cafe Tukwila very tasteful. They have a salmon fish that is very good also

Yelp
I made a reservation online and was seated right away for brunch when I checked in. The server was really attentive and would come by and check on us. I am docking a star because of the excessive wait time of almost 50 minutes for a burger and 3 eggs brunch and another 10 minutes for dessert. Also, our server is a very hard worker but it was only him and he was serving 8+ tables. I will have to come back to try the other items on the menu.

Yelp
Perfect place to take a break from shopping to grab a healthy and hearty quick meal. I have always loved eating at the Nordstrom Cafes and Grills. They have great menu options and great prices. Today we ordered the steak tacos, tomato bisque soup (not pictured), and prime rib dip sandwich. I also recommend the salmon with roasted vegetables if you're looking for a healthy and filling option. Right now this location is following COVID safety guidelines so wear your mask and prepare to show your proof of vaccination before entry. I love the location and convenience of these restaurants and the service is always wonderful.

Yelp
I never realized that Nordstrom had their own cafe until my aunt took me out to lunch at one of their SoCal locations. I've been a fan of the franchise ever since and have found each experience to be very consistent across the board. I love stopping in to grab a quick bite to eat during shopping trips because I can always count on their quick service as well as their fresh and delicious food quality. Once you step in, you get in line to place your order and you can either get it to-go or have them bring it to your table for dining service. I always order the Arugula Shrimp Salad because I prefer to have something light while shopping. Also, it's so good--I can't bring myself to order something different! I love the hearty serving of arugula, the juicy jumbo shrimp, their light, buttery croutons, and the dressing (flavor and amount) is spot on.

Yelp
Delicious food! Prices have gone up since the last time I was here. Wish they had lunch specials. I had two appetizers for lunch: the cilantro lime chicken tacos (comes with two), and a cup of the clam chowder. The clam chowder was delicious and the slice of cheesy bread the comes with it is TO DIE FOR. I can just sit here and eat a whole loaf of it, if it was an option. The chicken tacos were also really good. I did ask for an extra slice of lime - it really makes the flavors pop.

Yelp
My mom used to take me here when I was little and now as an adult I stop here a few times a month. The food isn't cheap at all but you will always get a good meal with pretty good customer service. I will say they have changed a number of things that I'm not a fan of. First you used to be able to sit where you wanted and the server would come and find you. Now the hosts seats you in certain areas. Also, they used to have the desserts on display and now things are closed off. Also, they took pizza off the menu because they got rid of their oven. Nothing is a deal breaker but I miss the way things used to be. On the bright side they started having happy hour with some amazing prices.

Yelp
After nearly 15 years of coming to the South Center Nordstrom as a customer, the cafe has always been a comfortable part of our shopping experience. We recently returned and was surprised to see the complete make over to the cafe location. I was pleased with how much brighter the interior seems! As we were walked to our table, the expansive location seemed quiet and we were glad we had the quiet to settle away from the chaos of holiday shoppers. Once seated a staff member came and asked us our beverage order. Shortly there after our server came and took our order. We didn't have to wait long and out came our meals. The salad I had was outstanding and I absolutely LOVE the salmon, so I ordered a second slice. Once we were through the meal, half way, we realized we may have been forgotten about. Our drinks sat dry and we had to wait a good 30 minutes before someone came by to offer to refill our cups. When the team member finally came over, I asked why they didn't offer the carafe for the table with soda? The team member looked at me and said "I guess we can do that!" Rolling her eyes she walked away. Having been a previous Nordstrom employee, I know the incredibly high standards we were held to, to exceed the customer experience! So I was shocked. We ordered desert, the cheesecake was great! The pomegranate fruit was very chilled and made the teeth ache some as well if you bit down wrong. Needless to say, great finish to our meal. I am thankful for the quality of the food but as a previous Nordstrom team member, I hold myself still to that incredibly high standard of having represented Nordstrom. I know we can't expect others will carry themself to that standard but I want this cafe to continue to succeed so I hope this review is a received as feedback, not a complaint!

Yelp
Food is always good, a little pricey for the portions but always good. I had the Portabella mushroom ravioli this time. Filled me up and a nice warm dinner roll with olive oil. I have had the Alderwood Wild Salmon & Asian Pear salad (so yummy) the tomato basil soup and the beef dip. They have all been very good.

Yelp
Love coming here! The staff is always welcoming and we are able to get a table right away. The food is also always on point and so delicious. My favorite entree is the Santa Fe Chicken Pannini which you can get with their shoe string fries and some amazing aoili or a side salad. The sandwich is generously made with lots of cajun chicken slices, chipotle sauce, avocaodo, caramelized onions and roasted bell peppers. Since its a panini it's quite filling and you can even save half of the sandwich to eat later. Mmmm pure delicious! This is my usual go to when I'm shopping at the mall and need a bite to eat. My mom ordered the Nicoise Salad with Salmon which is also another fave if you're in the salad mood. It has mixed salad greens with argula, roasted potatoes, some green beans, capers, and boiled eggs all beautifully balanced with a balsamic vinaigrette. I've also tried there soups and they're heart warming and tasty. Also the freshly made lemonades are refreshing and a good compliment to the food. This place is a little pricer if you're looking for a more casual lunch like in the food court of the mall but definitely worth it for the quality and service they provide. This place has a restaurant setting and you pay at the end instead of in the begging like the Bellevue Square location. Tip: Women's bathroom is located in the children's area and is called "Women's Lounge" which is located outside the restaurant on the same floor. Men's bathroom is located at the entrance in the right side when you enter.

Yelp
Very nice cafe on a third floor of the mall with a good selection of food! They have kids menu too. The staff was very friendly and everything is clean. It's nice and quiet atmosphere. Overall I had a good experience.

Yelp
Fast, friendly and efficient service. The BEST, piping hot tomato basil soup around! Affordable, fresh options with great presentation! It was pretty slow and empty on a Saturday night providing a wonderful respite from the hectic stores throughout the mall. Every time I come here I ask myself "why don't I come here more often?!?"

Yelp
Nordstrom's Marketplace in Southcenter has absolutely the worst customer service and the quality of the food is mediocre at best . I have been to almost every Nordstrom's Marketplace and Grill restaurants and their quality is absolutely impeccable but the Tukwila location the food was reheated the service was horrible and management did nothing to compensate our bill, it's really bad . When I tried to reach out to the general manager to share with them my experience they never responded .

Yelp
It's been almost a year since if gone in a Nordstrom cafe...the usual order is the grilled cheese sando and tomato soup. This was my first visit at Seattle/Tukwila location and i must say i am very impressed! The server was very attentive and knew her stuff! Tomato soup was made from scratch as well as all their breads. Matched the wheat bread with some avocado and gruyere and whompppph the flavors were amazing!!! I will return when i get a chance. Great stuff 5/5 judochops!

Yelp
Ordered the Korean Beef Tacos, and they were delicious. Beautiful presentation and a very kind, professional waiter. Our drinks were refilled without asking as soon as they reached the 1/4 point. Great experience, decent prices for the quality of the food. If you're in the mall and are looking for a refreshing bite to eat in a calm, comfortable restaurant around $20 per person, I highly recommend this cafe!

Nicole K.

Yelp
No matter what time they say they are closed- it is always closed when you get there... we've tried going 30 minutes before closed and they say they stop seating an 40 minutes before. We got there 40 minutes early and they stopped seating 45 minutes early. We get there 45 min early and they stop seating an hour early. Every time they say it's because of staff shortages. My daughter, 4 years old loves eating there but I'm ready to give up trying to go. I think they will say it's closed any time you try and eat there.

Yelp
I had the tomato chicken Alfredo pasta ($11-$12) and it was delicious! A tad heavy for my taste, but the flavor was impeccable. Something I'll crave in the future. I took me so long to come try Nordstrom cafe and it won't be my last! Very chill place to have your lunch break, they're fast and they have wifi! Perfect portion, I finished every bite feeling full. I want to try the salads next! I wish they have this place near the UW or something because they'll have my business!

Yelp
I LOVE it at the south center mall location 3rd floor if you look towards your left youll see an organic stand that is new there super refreshing since they make everything with real fruit on the spot but as you look forward theres the cafe there is a display case filled with delicious desserts to tease you and the red velvet cupcake with creamcheese frosting and and and white chocolate shavings on top..... if its there i swear you have to try it. after you meal ... or before.. or during.. lol i always order the kids meal (yes they let you get it mmm) the melted cheese sandwich that comes with a drink of your choice (not alcohol) like juice or soda or iced tea, a tomato basil soup, and fruits in a cup. for less than 6 bucks i believe ! deals. ive had their other meals like sandwiches or pasta. Never have i been disappointed. Customer service is well, checked on us multiple times including to refill our drinks (fancy) and at the end for your check, theres always chocolates to finish. i never got to sit on the outside area before (seattle being rainy all the time) next time ill have to try if they have it available - not much of a view but you can see bahama breeze and all the people parking below. lol what a better way to enjoy a decent meal, at a great price and after your tired of shopping.. or you can meet up n relax if you didnt shop.

Yelp
It's now changed into a full service cafe with additional menu items. Tried the Market Burger this time. The meat patty is thick so the flavor was only prominent on the outside of the patty, on some areas more than others (salty). The bun was thick too so then I couldn't even bite down the whole burger in one bite . Fresh ingredients was a plus. I shared the fries with my 1.5 year old daughter . They were VERY crunchy, like the entire thing was crunchy - not just the outside . I'm fine with it but my daughter can't eat that with her little teeth. Overall kinda disappointed Bc I love Nordstrom cafe .

Yelp
We went here on a recommendation from friends of ours who we were meeting for lunch. I have never and wouldn't think of having lunch at Nordstroms but we were willing to give them a shot. I ordered the special which was a roasted cauliflower cussili which I certainly enjoyed. The portion size was perfect especially for lunch. Overall, the atmosphere was pleasant and certainly good for large groups or lunch with a colleague! That's probably where the good stopped. We probably waited 30 minutes for our food. When you are serving lunch, a good deal of folks are on a schedule like we were so this was not good. I realize that perhaps they were slammed prior to us getting there and maybe catching up but it certainly was slow. Another thing, which I guess shouldn't have surprised me since this place is inside Nordstrom, but $26 for two people's lunch was way over priced. Yes, it was good but I could see maybe $20 but even that was a stretch. Anyway, if you are already in the store it might be a good option, but it's not really a place I would go out of the way to visit, especially since I dislike malls in general and tend to avoid them.

Yelp
The menu says I would get a margherita pizza. Instead, I received a cheese pizza with several slices of tomatoes and 2 leaves of basil. That's right, they gave me an entire 2 leaves of basil for the whole pizza. I'd love to know what the cook was thinking when they made it and thought that a customer would be happy, because this is the most pathetic excuse for a margherita I've ever seen. They need a new cook...someone who takes pride in their work.

Yelp
I had the warmed Asian Chicken salad, and it was incredible. I highly recommend. Service was great, restaurant was very clean too.

Yelp
Came here on the recommendation of the gal at the Buckle. Didn't know Nordstrom offered food. I ordered the cilantro lime salad with Alaska salmon. Omg! I've never had a salad taste so good! It was seriously fantastic. The only thing I didn't love is the atmosphere. But you cannot have it all. I'll be back. Thank you!

Yelp
I think this is a forgotten gem if you're looking to have lunch in Southcenter. Yesterday I enjoyed the roasted turkey and cranberry sandwich. It was good comfort food. Soup of the day was chicken pot pie, which sounded like another hearty option. Overall I like this place if you want a good sandwich and/or salad. The food was ready very quickly, but a little slow to get the check since it was two days after Christmas. Good service in my opinion considering the time of year.

Yelp
I'm very sorry to write that I missed this when it was the old cafe the way Bellevue still is. The main reasons I come to Nordstrom cafe is because I can get a yummy meal at a reasonable cost and it's quick. I needed to run some errands in the mall and it was already a little before 7 but we needed to eat and I wasn't in the mood for food court so we thought Nordstrom. I didn't know that they had changed the format back during the holidays cuz now it's a sit down wait service. I figured it couldn't be that much different and it was half empty at the time so we went in. I worked that day and literally had not had anything to eat so I was hungry. We waited and waited and I noticed the hostess was the one who came to get our drink order. I want to be very clear that although I'm writing a 3 star review the staff was very friendly and courteous! Things just seemed to take ...time. I ordered the chicken alfredo and the description matched the usual chicken alfredo tomato that I always order at the cafe (slightly changed the name) and the waitress said it was the same thing, but when it came out it was just chicken alfredo. Not particularly complaining as long as it was yummy and at first it was very tasty. However after about 5 bites (mind you I'm super hungry and it tastes like gold at that beginning) i started to notice how salty the dish was. After that bite after bite was just salt. I could have said something I'm sure but I was hungry and already eaten half the dish. I just downed my tea! (Bit of a tummy ache later) By the time we were finished with dinner it was already almost 8. I had one hour to complete my errands which I was unable to. I even left first while my husband stayed behind to close out the bill. Also need to note that the food was a bit more expensive then when it was the cafe and although it was decent I wasn't exactly blown away. The new format isn't bad but it was unexpected and could use some improvement. I realize that tukwila doesn't have a bistro like Bellevue but, again, if I wanted a nicer sit down I would have opted for something similar to the bistro but I needed good, reasonably priced and quick. I don't think I'll return. If I need my fav Nordstrom dishes I'll get them at one of the other locations. Just be aware before you head in

Yelp
Very friendly staff and very clean. There's nice decor in there and the French dip was the bomb!! My mom got the Korean tacos and she said they were kinda spicy but really good. Would totally recommend!

Yelp
Ladies who lunch If you haven't tried this place yet then shame on you. It has the world's best roma tomato basil bisque ($3.50 cup). I also recommend the chicken artichoke and goat cheese salad ($9.95). The service I get here is always outstanding. This particular visit I was waited on by Alexandra and she was very pleasant. My food came hot and quickly. And that is why I rated them five stars. This fat girl is already thinking about her next meal here.

Yelp
I work at the mall and on occasions, I crave for pasta. Unfortunately, Sbarro closed and all the other restaurants have pasta for a price that is more than my hourly wage (which means I will end up eating at least 2 hours worth of work). That is, until I found out about this tiny cafe on the 3rd floor of Nordy! I ordered the spicy angel hair with shrimp (probably not the actual name but thats what I call it), and it is really addicting. My favorite part about the dish is the shrimp that come with it. They are big, juicy and succulent. I need to take a picture of it, the next time I stop by. Some day, I want to order the dish, just for the shrimp. Their cheese crostini is also a hit. They usually put a couple slices with either salad or soup. But they will give you a couple with your pasta if you asked for it. If I could, I would rather have 10, but that is a lot to ask for. They will however, charge you 0.50 for a slice if you ask for extra. I took one star off because I have had a bad service one time. And I was just asking questions about their red velvet cupcake (delicious) and their dry soda (i've never had one and didn't know what it was), but the girl was super rude and she just answered "its dry soda" with that "duh" attitude. Tip: You can ask for half an order, but the price might not necessarily be half. If you are ordering to-go, call ahead so you don't have to wait.

Yelp
I'm definitely a fan of Nordstrom cafe.. or Bistro.. or whatever they call it. The food varies from location to location and at this particular one, I always get the Santa Fe Chicken sandwich and then sub out the chicken for portobello mushroom. SO good! My hubby gets the french dip and generally makes yummy sounds throughout, so I'd say he enjoys it. It's kind of a happy medium between the food court and an eat in restaurant. You order at the front, sit wherever you like, and a server brings whatever you have ordered to your table. Make sure you have some cash on you to tip your server since you pay for everything up front. =)

Yelp
I was actually surprised how good this place was. I never ate here before, I would always pass it on the third floor of Nordstrom while I was shopping, but never stopped in to grab something to eat until recently. My sister and I were shopping and she's been here before so she asked me if I wanted to grab lunch here. I said sure, why not? I ordered the California Panini and she ordered the Salmon salad and we went to go sit in a booth. I did not realize how big it was inside either! Plenty of seating. The waiters were very friendly and the Panini was very tasty. I would see myself coming back here while shopping at Nordstrom again!
google avatar

Jon L.

Yelp
This restaurant is so-so. Nothing compared to its bigger brother, Nordstrom grill. Cafeteria style dining style, place your order and your server will come and find you. The angel hair pasta is not too bad, however it's hit or miss and not very consistent. The desserts offering isn't always fresh. Whenever I'm dining here the same thought run through my mind, why isn't this a Nordstrom grill instead? Overall a satisfactory dining experience, better than the mall food at the food court for sure.

Yelp
I would give the Nordstrom Cafe one more star but I find them lacking in efficiency and an overall lack of consistent quality service. If you aren't familiar with the way you order food here...you can easily stand in front of the counter, thinking you have to wait for a table while the staff ignores you or other people walk up and place their orders ahead of yours. How simple & courteous would it be for them to have a bit of signage stating 'self-seating and order at counter'? Also, if a customer is there to order from a catering menu or for a large party you can easily STAND behind them for 5 or 10 minutes since only one person appears to take orders at the counter....most people are there for lunch and have limited time so this is a terrible disservice on that end! They get high marks for good food which is mainly comprised of bistro style sandwiches, soups and salads and an assortment of delicious baked goods. That's reason for the 3 stars...the rest, meh. But beware...if you don't get there before the lunch crowd does, you can wait in line 15 minutes just to place your order and you're are going to find your a** standing out the door over near one of Nordi's display tables contemplating whether or not you REALLLY need another scarf or beaded bracelet. My god already...you just wanted a simple LUNCH!. Another annoyance... once you are seated, the server is suppose to come over and go over what you've already ordered and paid for at the counter. This seems redundant especially in lieu of the fact that the servers offer spotty service at best. For eg., the order is for soup, sammy and a glass of water...and you've ordered dessert. Once seated you can easily wait another 10 minutes for the food to arrive and then never see the server again to fill your water and annoyingly, they've forgotten your dessert so you have to remind them - again. This cafe has a nice dimly lit interior and comfortable seating. The clientele - a mix from mall employees to business people to lunching Moms and daughters with little ones. The employees don't seem all that interested in their jobs to be honest. And its ashame....maybe the fact that you are made to order ahead at a counter and can't gage how good the food or service will be so you don't automatically include a tip. (or maybe thats why they dont care...most people automatically INCLUDE a tip already??) Otherwise, if you don't have cash with you to leave a tip you'll then have to do another 'ring up' just for that alone. So bring cash but tip only modestly or not at all if they haven't given you good service - then let the shift manager know why. The overall impression I get at Nordstrom Cafe at Southcenter is that it is not being properly managed nor marketed to its full potential.

Yelp
Normally this place is "OnPoint". Today, they missed it BIG time. I had to take my food back twice and they still missed it and another plate that was ordered was over seasoned. I noticed some changes with the menu among other things. My waiter gave me his card for next time and promised to take care of me but I'm not going back. Oh, the meal they couldn't get right was free....honestly, the whole busted meal should have been free. I'm not going back, at least not on purpose.

Yelp
Tucked away on the third floor of Nordstrom is their cafe. The Marketplace Cafe offers a small menu of soups, salads, pasta, sandwiches, and also dessert. The bistro style menu also includes meals for children. My favorite from Nordstrom's Cafe is their Angel Hair Pasta with Asparagus and Salmon. It's a very bright and light dish with a light creamy lemon sauce and Parmesan cheese over a bed of thin pasta and slices of seared salmon, topped off by chives and fresh lemon zest. It is simple and delicious, and above all, healthy. With quick and friendly service, I always look forward to lunch whenever I shop here.

Yelp
Nordstrom cafe has the reputation of having the best salads but the sandwiches and pasta are just as good too. South center parking lot is always a hassle to get in and out but the parking in front of Nordstrom is usually fine. The cafe is located on the third floor of Nordstrom right by the juniors department. There is an outside patio. This is an ideal place for lunch and great for groups. There is plenty of seating and the ambience is pretty casual. I would recommend the tomato Alfredo penne or the grilled California panini. The pasta is very light and not heavy. One of the best panini I've ever had. In terms of salads the berry salad is definitely a winner. Very fresh and filling. Don't forget their dessert menu. The carrot cake is very sweet and has a coconut twist to it. However, the strawberry shortcake is the winner. Sadly it's only available during certain seasons.

Yelp
I'm writing to let you know what a terrible experience I just had at your Tukwila store. My husband and I ate at the cafe at the Tukwila store prior to the event. My husband ordered me a glass of processo, which I carried over to the table. The server totally ignored me, even though the hostess of the event did not, as she saw that I had simply joined the four other participants from the dinner table with my husband. I had to ask for the complimentary beverage. Upon the session ending 22 minutes later, I stood and paid for the beverage included w session, with the gift card provided. I then walked out to a rack of lingerie right outside the cafe, excited to shop. I overheard the server who begrudgingly brought me the beverage I requested during he session, tell the woman who had rang me out at the cash wrap that I two drinks and didn't pay for one. To my horror, the other woman asks "are you sure?", again, I'm hearing all this as I have now several hundred dollars worth of product I'm excited to purchase. I put the product down, feeling very embarrassed and walked back into the cafe. I advised the staff that my husband had paid for the "stolen" glass of wine on our dinner bill. The gal who had previously rang me out, said "I believe you", to which I told her she could check the bill from 25 minutes earlier, I didn't need her to believe me. The server who served me dinner just stood there the entire time. I've never been so embarrassed, while trying to spend money in my life. You should never hosts these in your cafe again. You've lost a customer and a shareholder. Shame on you.

Yelp
I love Norstroms. Great service and staff. I love getting the attention I want from a dept store. Bought couple of suits there and am very happy with it. Ask for Tonya.

Yelp
Located on the top floor of the mall. This cafe has a nice casual atmosphere, not too pricey either. I'd say it's a little cheaper than Cheesecake Factory but much better quality. Food here is really good, great for chatting with friends and grabbing a quick bite. I got the cilantro lime chicken salad and my boyfriend got a pasta. Both very delicious, salad was fresh and more than filling. Perfect amount of dressing, salad was already tossed so that made it really convenient as well. Service was not bad, though I do wish our server would have smiled and looked more friendly. I noticed a lady checking on all the tables, I assume she was the manager. I did think it was kind of weird that the hostess sat us right in the middle of the restaurant when everyone else were in booths on the side but it didn't bother me too much, just thought it was a little awkward. I've been to the Bellevue cafe and enjoyed it very much, southcenter is not too bad either. Will definitely stop by again when I come to shop!

Yelp
I really like the Nordstrom Cafe. I had the portobello and baby artichoke sandwich and it was very tasty. Everyone at my table raved about the tomato soup. I would have loved to try it but I remember reading in the ingredients that the broth contains chicken fat. Why Nordstrom, why?? Service was really great. One of the women at our table had asked for her salad dressing on the side but the salad was delivered with the dressing on it. The server apologized profusely and quickly brought out a new salad with dressing on the side. This is also an awesome place to come for dessert and coffee. Best part is that it's rarely busy.

Yelp
Nice cafe with a good menu selection and food. My favorite is the chicken lime cilantro salad; it's healthy and light. You should ask for the complimentary house made garlic cheese crostini to go with the salad- they are delicious. The cafe is conveniently located in the store if you need to do some shopping.

Yelp
I use to come here a lot with a friend since she worked at Nordstrom so it was convenient for a quick lunch. I always get a sandwich, chips, and salad. The food is alright. Not really worth paying the money for it. The service is hit or miss. One day you'll get your food and drinks fast or wait 10 min or more for it. I don't work in the Southcenter area anymore but I won't be back any time soon.

Yelp
My bf got the Ginger glazed beef, penne Bolognese and the pasta with tomato sauce on the kids menu. The ginger beef dish was very salty. My dish the Penne was great and the kids pasta was good. The decor is a little outdated. It's needs to be renovated and updated to be a little more elegant. It just looks like a bed n breakfast for seniors now. Overall, the hostess and our waitress was very nice!

Yelp
I love the Chicken Apple Goat Cheese Salad. It's the only salad that make my mouth water just by thinking about it. It really is that good. I've read some of the other reviews and they are correct about the lunch time wait. On the rare times that I've eaten in the restaurant, the wait to get your food can definitely be 10 minutes or longer which leads you with very little time to enjoy your meal. Normally, I skip this problem by calling ahead and ordering my food to go. I get to skip the long line on the left and usually my food is waiting for me when I arrive (10-15 minutes after I call). If you do plan on eating in the restaurant and you forget to bring tip money, you can always ask them to add a few dollars to the bill for a tip when you are ordering. They will ring you up for that amount and hand you the change which you can then use to tip the waiter/waitress or not. Make sure they give you the money though because they've forgotten to give me the money a time or two. Once I didn't notice but the second time it happened I went back up to the counter and told her and she gave me the money.

Yelp
Service was great! My grandma was allowed to sample the soup prior to ordering. Once seated our food arrived promptly and it was delicious. I had the 1/2 turkey sandwich with split pea soup and salad. My daughter had the BLT Turkey and I took a bite of hers and yum. My mother had the French Dip and it was also delicious. Even my two young nieces had the grilled cheese sandwiches and they were very good. My overall experience was pleasurable and I shall return!
