What a gem in St. Louis! Cozy, home-like atmosphere with food that reminds you of family meals, so welcoming! The staff is very attentive and the menu is precious: delicious meatloaf, perfect pasta dishes! We got all our choices right. And, the carrot cake was incredible! The portions are super generous! We loved it.

Google
I wouldn't try it without reservations. The food is priced for the quality you recieve, which is exceptional. Their menu changes from time to time to keep things fresh, which is awesome. I don't recommend this place for kids unless your just going in for Togo dessert which is very affordable and delicious. The cake can be a little dry though. I recommend the cheesecakes and cookies. TO NOTCH DINNING for around $100 for 2 (unless you both get the steak)

Google
Carrot cake > cinnamon roll > chocolate chip gooey butter cake They say to never meet your heroes, and that’s kind of how I feel about Russell’s cinnamon rolls. After seeing numerous Instagram posts flaunting how fantastic these cinnamon rolls are, I finally got around to trying one. In some aspects, the cinnamon roll was great: it was the biggest cinnamon roll I’ve ever seen, the middle was as sticky and gooey as a bag of marshmallows left out on a hot summer day, and the caramelized cinnamon sugar was a unique touch. But in other aspects, the cinnamon roll was pretty disappointing. The dough on the outside had a crunch to it that resembled being overcooked, and this ratio of crunchiness layer to gooeyness layer in the cinnamon roll was like 80/20, which is definitely not what I’m looking for in a cinnamon roll. Is the cinnamon roll tasty? Yeah. Would I recommend someone to get it? Probably not.

Google
First time at this restaurant. They don’t have a parking lot so it’s all street parking. I ordered their quiche special with fresh fruit. The quiche was made with onions, bacon and spinach. The quiche was thick which was nice. It was cooked nicely all the way through and the top and crust wasn’t burnt. It was delicious. I chose the fresh fruit for my side and it was nice to have ripe fruit and none of the pieces looked like they were near turning bad. Our incredible waitress asked if we have eaten here before and I told her this was my first time. So she brought us slices of their gooey butter cake to sample and it was delicious. Their gooey butter cake is made differently. Their gooeyness was more like a custard and it wasn’t over the top sugary sweet. Our waitress gave us excellent service. We sat in a room with 4-5 portable heaters. The room was an enclosed deck, you could see the ground through the boards on the floor. It was freezing outside so during cold weather the room had pockets of very cold and very warm.

Google
I have gotten cinnamon rolls from here and loved them! Unfortunately this time my cinnamon roll looked like it had been torn off with little care and still given to me even though a big chunk was gone. I didn't notice until I got home as it was to-go. Normally I wouldn't leave a review about something like this, but these are $15 cinnamon rolls and there's nowhere on their website to contact someone. If you're going to charge that much at least make sure you give the customer all of it. I know that if I was getting it in person sitting at their restaurant they wouldn't have served me this so feels like they thought they could just give it to a to-go person and be fine.

Google
Best brunch I've had in St. Louis. Delicious. Lovely atmosphere too. Portion sizes are generous, and they even gave little samples of gooey butter cake for free.

Google
I had the grilled French toast and my partner had the biscuits and gravy, priced a little extra however, was very pleasantly presented, food came out faster than expected, and was very appetizing. I am very satisfied with our waiter, Maggy, and the restaurant. More than meets the eye, and I would love to come back if I didn’t live in Texas and was only visiting.

Google
Solid place, and will probably give it a full 5 stars next time if they aren't out of the highly desired cinnamon rolls which is why we came to try in the first place! Super busy, and recomend getting a RSVP before hand. Luckily for us, manager got us a table. Food was fresh and you can tell the quality of ingredients.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try Russell's for YEARS after buying multiple of their gooey butter cakes from Fresh Thyme. They currently have a deal on some weeknights where you can get a salad, entree, and dessert for a set price! The bacon-wrapped meatloaf blew my mind; this is not your normal meatloaf! It was huge and had so much flavor and came on buttery mashed potatoes. I also tried some of my friend's local Buttonwood chicken on warm potato salad. The warm potato salad is actually perfectly roasted potato chunks, and the chicken was so tender and juicy. And finally, the desserts. I was a little overwhelmed by how many options there were in the dessert window display and wanted to try ALL Of them. I finally settled on the fluffy toasted coconut cake which was like eating a delicious coconut cloud. I also tried my friend's chocolate caramel cake which was SO rich, and the chocolate chip cheesecake, which made me want to go back and try the other 3 types of cheesecakes they had on display.

Yelp
Russell's on Macklind - Brunch Goals, Nailed If brunch had a Hall of Fame, Russell's on Macklind would be front and center, probably holding a mimosa in one hand and a plate of cinnamon rolls in the other. The food? Absolutely fantastic. Every dish feels like it was made with equal parts skill and love. The brunch menu is creative without trying too hard--comfort classics with just the right twist. I had the biscuits with sausage gravy (amazing), but the table also shared a cinnamon roll the size of a small planet, and it was dangerously good. Fluffy, gooey, and clearly crafted by someone who understands the science of happiness. The service? Spot on. Our server was warm, attentive, and managed to keep the coffee flowing like they had psychic powers. Friendly, fast, and genuinely happy to be there--exactly what you want in a brunch spot. The vibe? Cozy, laid-back, and inviting, like a neighborhood gem that doesn't need to scream "cool" because it is cool. Perfect for lingering over coffee and pretending Monday doesn't exist. Bottom line: If you're in St. Louis and you skip brunch at Russell's on Macklind, that's on you. The food is fantastic, the service is awesome, and the cinnamon rolls deserve their own zip code.

Yelp
First and foremost: get a cinnamon roll for the table to share. The quality of everything is top notch. I ordered the Lola Jean's Egg sandwich and the soft scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly, the bacon was THICK, and the paprika aioli was a nice touch. Their breakfast potatoes are actually crispy and not an afterthought like most places. I added chipotle aioli and it was chef's kiss. This is the type of place where you'd want to work your way through the entire menu, because everything sounds incredible and thoughtfully conceived.

Yelp
Got a reservation on Open Table and enjoyed a delicious brunch. The buttermilk biscuits with the butter, blackberry jam, and honey are to die for!! I also got a lemon blueberry cheesecake to go and it was so rich and creamy. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Went for brunch recently. Service was great and was very helpful in us choosing from some great options. Portions sizes were very large so the prices were definitely fair. Their bakery section was very impressive and while I will definitely be back to dine in, is a great option if you are looking for some sweets!

Yelp
Had a great Sunday brunch. The atmosphere is pleasant, a welcoming, city vibe. The food choices ordered by our group were delicious, nice presentation without being pretentious. The food, service and surroundings all made you feel special. Had dessert first ... the cinnamon roll! The best I ever had! Did not leave without a stop and take home order from the bakery. Reasonable prices as well!

Yelp
This is the OG. Loved this place from its beginning, the owner does a great job creating an experience for guests. Food is always 10/10 and best bakery in st. louis. I dream of the chocolate ganache cake. It's perfect for a date night or a birthday dinner. They allow dogs on the patio and it's absolutely adorable. They also have a porch as well as upstairs seating. Overall, such a good spot. I can't stress enough how good the bakery is.

Yelp
Russell's is the go-to place in the South Hampton neighborhood for brunch, dinner, or drinks with a bit of style and class! The menu is changed up frequently so prices vary; on a recent visit they ranged from a burger with fries for about $20 to a steak special for $72. It's the sort of "elevated" food that's worth the occasional splurge: house-made ketchup for those fries, fresh herbs, and only the best local produce. The appetizers are generally a nice size for two before a meal, or for one as a snack with a drink. Entree portions are very generous, and slices of dessert are as well. The food is thoughtfully prepared from quality ingredients, though generally without strong flavors (I wouldn't mind a kick once in awhile!) On a recent visit we had polenta fritta, which was three crisped discs of tender polenta on a drizzle of Green Goddess dressing. We also had the whipped ricotta: a dollup of ricotta on the plate with a well of olive oil in the middle was served with lightly buttered grilled bread--too much oil/butter for me in this combination, but my dining companion loved it. For other visits we've had steak, chicken, burgers, bacon-wrapped meatload, and more--all winners! Brunch is a super popular with locals; get your name on the list early! The dining room downstairs is lovely. For a more laid-back experience, grab a stool at the bar upstairs or enjoy the welcoming patio. And service is top-notch (shout-out to Clint, who's always helpful and never misses a beat!) The liquor offerings aren't extensive, but there's a top-shelf and a mid-range bottle in most categories (a couple Scotches, vodkas, etc.) The cocktail menu includes standards plus more creative drinks. A few local craft options are on the beer list, along with the usual AB products. I'm not into wine but noted about 10 whites and 12 reds on the list. Finally, let's not forget Russell's bakery roots. When you enter, peer through the glass cases to see gorgeous layer cakes, pies, brownies, muffins, and much more. I never seem to have room for dessert after a Russell's meal, but taking home a sweet slice is a great choice!

Yelp
We have often gone to Russell's for brunch which is delicious, but we also usually grab a sweet snack on the way out to eat later. (Don't judge!) So it was because of this I knew how yummy their baked goods are when we needed desserts for our engagement party, I called, told them how many people, what sweets we liked, and paid over the phone. A week later we picked up and were the hero's of our own party! (Seriously people raved) I will use Russell's for desserts again!

Yelp
It's still the best brunch I've ever had or can imagine. Service is perfect. The patio is perfect on a Saturday morning.

Yelp
Russell's is one of my favorite brunch spots in STL! The menu is filled with so many delicious items, it's hard to pick what's best but EVERYTHING is consistently good! I love their take on a BLT with Avocado and Egg = B.L.A.T.E.! The thick cut bacon is amazing! Don't skip the cinnamon roll and be sure to grab one of the best chocolate chip cookies (no judgement if you eat it on the ride home )

Yelp
The meatloaf here was sooo good and the portion was HUGE. I was able to take home a good amount of leftovers! Our server was so great and gave us time to decide what we wanted between the menu and the specials. Everything sounded so good, it was really hard to decide. We got a slice of espresso cake to take home which was incredible. I love the ambiance of this place. It was so cozy and eating a home cooked meal by the inside fireplace was top notch. Can't wait to try their brunch!

Yelp
We visited this place on our last day in St Louis and everything was so good that my only regret is that we didn't visit sooner. The portions are so huge and everything tasted amazing and was cooked to perfection. I'm including pictures of everything. I will return the next time we're in town!

Yelp
Best quiche I have ever had. The French toast was different, in the best way possible. Steak was juicy and flavorful. Service was great, spot was cozy. I will be dreaming about this food tonight.

Yelp
Overall, a fantastic place for a good brunch with a lot of natural light to brighten your morning. WAIT TIME: We came for Sunday breakfast at 9am and were seated immediately. FOOD: I ordered the breakfast burrito with a side of fruit, my partner got the fried egg sandwich with a side of potatoes. The burrito was so delicious, and it was STUFFED with eggs and pork. You get a lot of food in that tortilla! The fruit was also so fresh and beautifully displayed. The fried egg sandwich was also excellent, and the potatoes... so crispy and perfect! Everything was a 10/10, you can't go wrong. We also checked out the bakery items at the end and shared a wonderful orange and vanilla turnover that was very buttery and flaky. SERVICE: Our server was very kind, she didn't come around too often but she did come by to refill our waters and coffees a few times. AMBIANCE: We were seated in the upstairs section and the sunlight coming in brightened up the place beautifully. It's a great space. PRICE: Dishes were each $16, which seems pretty on par with other brunch spots. And as mentioned, you get a lot of food in each plate. It is an up-charge (which our server did mention before choosing) to order a side of potatoes instead of fruit, but it was only $2.50 more so not bad.

Yelp
The patio ambiance in the spring was absolutely adorable, with vibrant, blossoming colors that made the whole setting feel extra charming. The food was delicious overall. My sausage bagel leaned more toward a burger vibe--with bagels as buns and a thicker patty, rather than a traditional breakfast sausage style. It was a bit on the dry side, and I wasn't sure if customization was an option, as none was offered. The giant cinnamon roll, though, was a showstopper--massive, fun to share, and definitely eye-worthy! The drink menu sounded amazing, though I didn't get a chance to try any this time. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu!

Yelp
One of the best brunches I've had in a while. The place seems reeeeally small when you first walk in, but somehow it doesn't give one a crowded feeling. I got the special that they offer when they have leftover crab, and it was DELICIOUS! My Bloody Mary was good. And the service was the BEST! Not an inexpensive place, but I felt everything was well worth the price asked. Thoroughly enjoyed our time and meal here.
google avatar

Yelp
Whenever I go to Russell's I always want to try something new but I end up getting the bacon wrapped meatloaf. It's THAT good! The service is always nice and friendly. I love going here for date nights. If I'm going for brunch, my go to is the biscuits and gravy!

Yelp
We had a great time here. Delicious food with fun cocktails and a great outdoor patio. The wedge salad was my favorite; delicious and refreshingly light even including the onion rings. We ate the whole plate. 5/5. Note the bread is also extremely delicious, next time I will ask for not toasted. Pork chop is also recommended - the dish works extremely well together with sauce, spice, side and the glaze cooked into a deliciously thick chop. It was slightly overcooked and swimming in bacon. 5/5 Caprese appetizer and chicken entree were also good but not as memorable. We did have cake and cheesecake dessert to go, 4/5. Note the portions are large, we were stuffed before the entrees even came. Well worth the visit.

Yelp
I'm genuinely excited to give them 5/5. Food was fire, atmosphere was intimate and cozy, and service was attentive. First of all, the food was so good! We went for brunch and got the cinnamon roll, the Lola jeans breakfast sandwich, and the breakfast burrito. The cinnamon roll was crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside! Honestly, the perfect balance. The burrito had pork shoulder and jalapeños. I was skeptical at first but the flavor profile was amazing. My partner had the breakfast sandwich and simply described it as a perfect, fluffy balance of bread, egg, and bacon. What made both delectable was the jalapeño aioli sauce! Although the space was on the smaller side, I really enjoyed the cozy feel of the fire place and fresh flowers. Honestly, this was a pleasant surprise. The service was also fantastic. We walked in without a reservation and we were sat immediately. We did sit at a shared table but the flower arrangement gave us some privacy. Also, our server was attentive and incredibly kind. If you're looking for a quick bite or a more refined dining experience, I highly highly recommend.

Yelp
Russell's on Macklin is such a staple. It has a cozy and relaxed ambiance with a fireplace offering locally sourced American cuisine. Located in the Southampton neighborhood of St. Louis, it's a family-run restaurant that prides itself on warm hospitality and mouthwatering dishes reminiscent of home-cooked meals. From their homestyle cooking to freshly baked goods, Russell's on Macklin caters to both the brunch & dinner crowds. The menu features elevated versions of classic American favorites, highlighting the best seasonal ingredients available. I had the broccolini salad and lump crab cake. Both were delicious. I also shared in the cheeseboard. Don't forget to indulge in their tempting gooey butter cake.
google avatar

Jessica A.

Yelp
Delicious brunch. Everything was fresh, service was friendly but not fast, they were really busy and we were not in a hurry so not a huge issue.
google avatar

Jensen W.

Yelp
Delicious!!!! First, we started off with this delicious & huge cheese board then moved to entrees. I had the broccolini charred salad & it was great! Lastly, ending it off with their famous OG Gooey Butter Cake, chefs kiss! Amazing! Our waitress was super sweet, attentive & on it! The fire they had going was so nice for a cold night inside their restaurant. I loved this little spot. It's so intimate & I would definitely come back. Make sure to check out their bakery full of sweets- I guarantee you'll find SOMETHING.

Yelp
Went here to celebrate a friend's birthday and sat upstairs. The restaurant is on the smaller size but feels very cozy. I got the report back cocktail and it tasted very similar to a less-sweet margarita which I enjoyed. We shared the cheese puffs and special flatbread to start, which were both hits. I got the ricotta gnudi for my main which they were able to modify without bacon. The gnudi lacked flavor and seasoning, and the dish needed a sauce or broth as it was a bit dry, but I loved the pickled jalapeños in it (pretty spicy). The portion size is big and makes the price reasonable. I tried bites of my friends' desserts including the chocolate cake, carrot cake, and blueberry lemon cheesecake (my favorite). Our server was great and we never felt rushed, we probably spent a good 2.5 hours there chatting and enjoying the food and drink.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in for brunch. We wanted to eat outside, but I opted to eat at the bar so there wasn't a wait. The bartender was fantastic. We started off with bloody Mary's, they were perfect. My husband ordered the roast beef and white cheddar, he absolutely loved it, so I had a bite, and I agree with him. I ordered the quiche of the day with the salad and a side of the fried potatoes with their homemade ketchup. It was the best quiche I've ever had! The salad was OK, but the potatoes were fantastically crispy and the homemade ketchup was the perfect touch. It was busy at brunch on a Sunday, I was surprised that our food came out in quite a timely manner. We felt a little guilty about eating without our kids, so when we went downstairs to the desert case and we picked up a gluten-free chocolate torte, German chocolate cheesecake, chocolate chip cookie, snickerdoodle cookie, and the chocolate chip gooey butter cake. It was the last piece of gooey butter cake so I think maybe that's why it was dried out but everything else was absolutely delectable. It has an upscale small town feel. I can't wait to go back and sit on the patio, it looked very inviting!

Yelp
This evening we decided to walk to Clemintine's Ice creamery for desert . As we walked we decided to go and see if Russell's had a table for us. Woo hoo a table was available for the 2 of us right away. . I had the gnocchi- with oyster and crimini mushrooms, heirloom carrots, white wine and butter pan sauce in aged sherry vinegar. My spouse had the baked ricotta with orange marmalade, red onions and grilled toast. She tried to get the gnocchi but the sauce already had garlic in the prepared sauce. That was the only option other than a Macklind burger but that was not what she wanted tonight. The gnocchi was tender the carrots crisp and the sauce with the walnuts and aged sherry vinegar had a nutty somewhat sweet flavor. I checked in on Facebook and later this evening Russell's Ping thanked me for stopping by. Nice touch Mr. Ping. It is appreciated. Do not pass up Russell's you will not regret it. Outdoor patio is worth the wait this spring. By the way we did stop at Clemintine's for desert tomorrow.

Yelp
Great place to have brunch in a quiet neighborhood on weekends. We arrived at 0900 am on Saturday and got seated at the dock area with no wait time. Our waitress, Nikki, was amazing. She described the menu and items of the day very well. Cinnamon roll was delicious with a good mix of crunchy/soft texture. Highly recommend the roll if you came in a group of 3-4 since the portion is huge unless you are a big cinnamon roll lover! I ordered BLATE sandwich and loved it. They used fresh ingredients and breads were toasted and buttered to perfection. All in all, fantastic brunch place in St . Louis!!!

Yelp
I came back for dinner. This place is just the best. From the caprese starter to my table's entree's (pork chop & burger) to the coconut cake I took home, everything was delectable. The service stands out as everyone is knowledgeable about the menu & genuinely kind. They manage to make this establishment even warmer & more welcoming. Russell's keeps shining and I will keep coming back!!

Yelp
We've been here a couple of times for dinner and I've been impressed every visit. The last visit though stuck out to me the most because we tried these things called cheese puffs for an appetizer and I thought I had died and went to (pastry?) heaven. They were delivered to our table hot, fluffy, light, cheesy, and so delicious. They were served with house catsup but to be honest, there's no condiments required with these lovely things. I'm not sure if they were biscuits or some type of pastry but they were excellent. I had their lobster pot pie that very same night, too. By the end of the night, I could only say that the whole experience was (chef's kiss) fantastic! My husband had their meat loaf and he loved it. Of course, you can't come here and not get dessert! The selection is huge. I had an espresso-ey cake but only ate a few bites and took the rest home to devour at midnight. I've talked so much about the food but what about the ambience? Their there is an indoor dining as well as outdoor/patio. Perfect for these lovely summer days, no? The inside is beautiful and bright. Let's not forget the lovely staff. We've always felt welcomed during our visits. Everyone's been so great and accommodating. What more could you ask for? If you haven't yet, you should definitely come check out Russell's on Macklind!

Yelp
I go to the Russell's in Fenton often so I was expecting this location to have a similar menu. The menu and atmosphere were different but in a good way. My mom and I sat at the bar upstairs. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I got the roast beef and white cheddar sandwich. The sandwich was enormous. My mom went with the quiche and it looked delicious. We stopped by the bakery on our way out. All the desserts looked amazing. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Food is amazing, seasonal specials with a variety of vegetables and flavors.. Great weekend brunch place. Reservations a must indoor and outdoor seating.

Yelp
Food, service, and ambiance all get five stars!! I've had the burger, chicken, and fish on three separate visits and all three were fantastic! Brunch at Russell's is also a great experience

Yelp
Great brunch @ Russell's ! The cinnamon roll is a must try. And it's huge!!!! The portion sizes are very generous, probably could have shared the BLATE. Everything was fresh and the menu had lots of variety. Definitely excited to go back and try some other dishes. Cute, clean restaurant. Indoor, outdoor, and covered patio seating. Friendly staff and the bakery items are all so tasty. I especially love the cupcakes and brownies. We went on a sunday around 10:30 without a reservation, the wait was 30 minutes but we expected it so didn't bother us.
google avatar

Yelp
Found Russell's one morning during a holiday weekend and I was on the hunt for just 2 items: cupcakes and an iced coffee. I walked right to the back towards the dessert and pastries display cases to get my items to go: a dozen mini cupcakes and an iced latte. The latte was fine and prepared quickly. The mini cupcakes were an assortment of all their available flavors, so that was nice to pick and choose, but I was downright shocked that these little guys were $2.25 EACH. Yikes. Good thing the bday boy is also my husband or I'd have to think twice about such a spendy purchase. Luckily, they were delicious little treats for our party of 9 to enjoy. (Wished they had their carrot cake available as mini cupcake - heard this was a best seller.)

Yelp
Pros: ambience and service!! I sat at the bar upstairs and the bartender was incredibly pleasant and attentive. Also, the biscuits were amazing. Cons: Food was wayyyy overhyped based on these reviews. I had the sunrise on sourdough. The eggs were overcooked and not well seasoned, and the bread was so hard that it scratched the roof of my mouth (would suggest something softer) I ordered cinnamon rolls to go which were not even close to one of the best that I've had... it was fairly dry and hard, but the cream cheese dressing was lovely. I ordered two to go based on the reviews here and ended up throwing one away because it was that disappointing... serving size is definitely huge but the actual quality/taste of the cinnamon roll left much to be desired. The best thing I ordered were the biscuits by far and would, get those again. It was my first time going for brunch, but I likely won't be returning. I had high hopes based on the review, but I feel thereviews skew more toward the ambience versus the actual food itself ...It depends on your personal pallet, but if you're someone that has high discernment when it comes to actual food, this will probably fall short of your expectations. If you're someone that has a low/medium level of discernment when it comes to food, but just want to cute, neighborhood place to have brunch, with a good ambiance then I would say this is your spot.

Yelp
Russell's has one of the best patios in St. Louis City. Tucked in a neighborhood setting, there is minimal road noise, lots of shade and great vibes. We just visited for breakfast. They already have heaters everywhere on the patio putting out warm air, blankets on the backs of chairs just in case, and service is quick! We had a massive BLATE (bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato, egg) sandwich and breakfast burrito (braised pork shoulder, eggs, white cheddar & picked green chiles).

Yelp
Amazing food, excellent service from Nikki! My girlfriends and I were there celebrating a birthday. Nikki brought out a bowl of biscuits with a candle for the birthday girl. It was the cutest thing ever. Everyone loved what they ordered. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Love this place! A nice brunch place also featuring an assortments of pastries/cakes up front. I'd give the brunch items 4 stars, pretty standard menu, good service, quick as well. The real star of the show here is Gooey Butter Cake, a St Louis delicacy. It's such a decadent dessert, and I would 100% recommend trying it from here!

Don't let the comfy casual vibe here food you, the food is top notch! The pasta with asparagus and corn was the best bite if food I have had in a long time and the meatloaf was hearty and delicious. The green goddess dressing on the fresh salad made it other worldly. Then of course there are the deserts...best gooey butter cake in the city and the cheesecake is a delight. Service was fast, friendly and attentive. This will not be your cheapest meal out this month but it may well be your best!!

Yelp
The food, drinks and desserts never disappoint at Russell's! This is a constant recommendation for out of towners and dessert lovers. Great vibes inside and on the patio. Staff is always attentive and helpful with suggestions.

Yelp
Russell's on Macklind has been on my must-try restaurant bucket list for a while now. My partner surprised me with a brunch reservation here, and I was elated. On the Saturday we visited this establishment, it was sunny and decently warm so we sat outside. The outdoor seating area is a courtyard with a fire pit in the middle. Each table was afforded with several knitted blankets to use in case we got cold. I absolutely loved this personalized touch and did end up using one. Our waitress greeted us kindly, and we ended up ordering the buttermilk biscuits ($14) to share. When the biscuits came out, they were warm with a crispy, buttery exterior and moist interior. To pair, they came with salted butter, blackberry preserves, and honey. I tried each topping, and they all balanced the buttery nature of the biscuits well. My favorite was a preserve and butter combination. These were some of the best biscuits I've ordered at a restaurant. For an entree, I chose the Kitchen Sink Salad ($15), which consisted of a mixed greens base. The greens were lightly tossed in a balsamic vinaigrette and topped with Parmesan, died cranberries, red onion, sweet pepper, cherry tomato, crispy garlic croutons, and seasoned grilled chicken breast. All-in-all, I really enjoyed the freshness of the salad and the combination of salty chicken, sweet cranberry, and tangy balsamic. I did believe, however, the greens were slightly underdressed. I ended up asking for a side of extra dressing to add just a little more since a portion of the greens lack vinaigrette. The service at Russel's on this particular day was quite slow, unfortunately. It took 45 minutes to receive our entrees and an extra 15 for the extra dressing. To give the team the benefit of the doubt, they were having system issues on this day. However, I felt like our waitress still lacked a bit of urgency when providing refills and giving us our bill. I hope this is an oddity for Russel's, and I hope to return soon to find out! I definitely have my eyes on their ginormous cinnamon rolls, which is 100% will be ordering when I return.

Yelp
Finally had the opportunity to hit Russell's. The vibes were amazing. We were sat outside on a beautiful Saturday morning. They had some popular music playing quietly in the background so you did not have to raise your voice to chat with your friends. They even had blankets at the chairs for when that cool breeze came through, a nice touch. The food we had was fantastic. The portions were huge. I wanted to eat it all, but my body would not let me. We had their biscuits with butter, blackberry preserves, and honey. The biscuits had an incredible crispy crust on them. They were perfectly buttery, oh, and they were huge. Offering a nice acidity tailed by a crispy sweetness, the blackberry preserves accompanied perfectly. I had a roast beef and white cheddar as recommended by our server, Alyssa. It did not disappoint. The caramelized onions were sweet, balancing well with the sharpness of the cheddar. The baguette it was served on was great. Crispy edges with a chewy center. An absolute masterclass. Additionally, the breakfast potatoes were fantastic. Minute cubes to attain the perfect crispiness. Dipped in their house-made, I was in heaven. I would have loved to try some bakery items as I have heard they have some of the best gooey butter cake in St. Louis. But, I did not get the chance. Our service was a little slow which our server apologized for, she indicated the POS system was down. To be honest, I did not mind, the weather was so great, it forced us to hang out a bit more and enjoy each other's company.

Yelp
Russels has been on my list to try for a long time. We decided to hit up Russels for dinner. For starters, we had the Crab cakes and the Flatbread. The crab cakes were crunchy and cooked to perfection. The flatbread of the day was a pesto flatbread. For our entree, we had the special of the day - the pork loin wrapped in bacon. It came with a side of green beans and mushrooms. They change up their menu based on the season. They had good seasonal cocktails. For dessert, they have a wide variety of cakes to choose from. They have lovely patio seating which is perfect for the summer. Looking forward to trying their brunch menu.

Yelp
Such a fun dining spot! Brunch is fabulous but so is dinner here! If brunching get the cinnamon roll or biscuits to share. Dinner menu changes at times, so ask your server. Haven't ever had a bad meal!

Yelp
Russel's is a lovely neighborhood place. I arrived around 12:30 pm with three friends for brunch on Saturday. It seemed a bit busy. We were seated quickly because we made the reservation early. They have a cute patio that is perfect for a sunny day. The staffs were friendly and happy to answer our questions about their menu and bakery. The food came in large portions. I order the Breakfast Burrito. It was fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend this place. Russel's is a great place for gathering with friends and family. Everything on their menu looks great. Plus, their bakery is amazing too. I would come back again soon.

Yelp
Russell's was such a treat! I am a fan of their baked goods and have frequently stopped in to buy a slice of their carrot cake. This time we decided to dine in. We didn't have a reservation but thankfully they were able to get us a table in their heated back patio. It was so beautiful, warm, and the chairs had pillows and blankets for chillier days. We browsed the menu and decided on the Lola Jean Breakfast Sandwich, grilled French Toast and the St. Louis Italian salad. Everything was delicious and we even had leftovers. The salad portion was impressive, the French toast was fluffy and the pairings were perfect. Our favorite item was the breakfast sandwich but honestly you won't go wrong with anything else. We did order some mimosas and they were stronger than expected. Overall a lovely brunch experience. It is a bit pricier but a very worthwhile treat.
