RUSTIC RANCH RESTAURANT

One of my favorites! We do take out and go as a couple of with a few friends and have taken large groups after making reservations! Food is always great!! For lunch or dinner. Closed on Monday i get ANY burger combo but I love their grilled chicken sandwich and grilled shrimp too!!

Burgers were good. It’s a bit above average when it comes to the beef but a good burger all depends on how you like it prepared. They have plenty of fixings to your liking. Fries are just simple fries. However, the waitress was on point and the service was outstanding. The evening we went the atmosphere was a bit dull, but I could see that it could get a bit rowdy during peak hours. No alcohol but you’re allowed to BYOB. Big plus in my book. Outdoor sitting available. The building is very country. Western with a country western theme. Overall I did like the place. I will go back.

My order was very quick, and tasted amazing. Definitely recommend.

Traveling through town and stopped in for a bite. The staff was attentive and courteous. The menu items all looked good but I went with the hamburger. Perfectly cooked to order with fresh sides. Recommend the fries too, they were hot and crispy. Great place to take family and friends.

Food was delicious! Service was excellent. And the atmosphere was very Texan! Definitely coming back here.

We had eaten here a couple of times. Food was okay, but today it wasn’t so good. We each had a piece of fish that wasn’t cooked properly. The service was terrible and the lady at the register that figured our bill gave us the wrong bill, she wanted to give cash back instead of putting it back on our card. She had a real attitude problem, her boss needs to fire her. We walked out without an apology. We won’t be back.

Food was great. They have many options like wings, nachos, sandwiches, desserts and many choices of burgers. The service we good, no complaints. My track team and I went after a meet. We had a lot of fun. The atmosphere was great, very welcoming. Can't wait to come back with family!

Owner cut her nose off to spite her face. Before karaoke she had very little business on Friday night until we started. Then she decided she didn't really want it.

Not a place we'll return to. Heading home from the valley and stopped here for lunch. I got the steak fajitas; meat undercooked and served COLD with barely cooked onions, and charro beans that were salty they could not be eaten. Waitress did not return after serving food, and we never got refills on our drinks. Save your $$

Take 2. It's been two years since we were here & it did not disappoint! We had the Cowboy burger, no bun, and they were very accommodating. The staff very friendly and the food was quick.

The service is always really good. However, since it's been taken over by new management, the menu has changed and certainly the food has changed. The burgers are made good but we have not had good luck. we had ordered a taco salad and the special of the day which was a barbecue brisket sandwich. The sandwich was very fatty and not good. Probably we won't go back.

This may be my last positive review... seems people believed me, standing room only at 1230p today... pics are the back porch... cool breeze today... Best burger in town?

We stayed @ an AirBnB on the property & decided to try the Ranch House‼ I'm glad we ate there @ the beginning of the week, giving us a chance to return at the end of the week! BEST HAMBURGERS & pork tenderloin‼ This place is a must if you are in the area‼‼‼

This restaurant is very good, but have changed their name. It is now known as Rustic Ranch. The menu has been updated with all the regular items still available and some new items added. Service is excellent and food hot and delicious.

We visit Ranch House every few weeks. The service is consistently good, but not great. The food is good, but not excellent for what it is.

Came here for the weekly cheat meal because I was craving a good burger. Lo and behold their burgers were absolutely horrible. Overcooked, lacked fat content within the meat, and had no seasoning. Toppings that were added to the burger were lacking in the amount. Our waitress was very nice, got us everything we asked for and was attentive to our drinks. Can't say this is a place I would revisit. Should have gone to FF's right down the street.

So far I've tried the big bird I believe it's There chicken sandwich and I've tried there salad and picked at Some of my families, Food , lol and it was all delicious. If you want a good burger this is the place.

This place is very highly rated. So decided to check out one of their unconventional burgers. In the end, their creativity in burger design is what gets them the stars I'm giving them. I ordered a Choriqueso burger, which I thought was innovative given I've never seen a Choriqueso burger before. However, it doesn't get any higher stars due to the execution of its restaurant operations. Let's break down the good and the bad. The good: You can select from a wide variety (12+) of creative, RGV-themed burgers. The quality itself? Eh... these are very average tasting burgers. They don't particularly stand out compared to the other local burger restaurants. And compared to burger chains like Shake Shack? They don't stand a chance. I'd give them a 4 for burger variety and a 3 for food quality. The restaurant is pretty clean and spacious. The bad(ish): Again, quality in general was barely on-par. My Chori-queso burger had a patty bordering on burned. Our table was stabilized by a clump of napkins below one of the table legs. Our food took maybe 25+ minutes to come in. The last word: I like to ask myself: would I enjoy coming back here? But with Ranch House my response is: why would I come here versus a Big Daddy's Burgers or a Whataburger? I'd come back for convenience (if I lived right by here) but, Whataburger also offers convenience plus speed. I'd probably come back if I was in the mood for a very specific burger I couldn't find anywhere else.

After the pandemic review. I have been eating less carbs. So I was worried on the selection on the menu. Because this place is know for their hamburgers. I have tried the avocado burger in the past. Also had the BBQ burger. They are mountain topped high burgers that fill you up. There is no room for fries after you Finish burgers. The burgers have stayed consistent since since the businesses opened. The meat is still thick and juicy. They have very few selection on alcoholic beverages. They used to have more prior to the Covid-19 pandemic. They offer their special "Thirsty Thursday"Happy hour all day on Thursday. They appeared to be short staffed but they do have some good waiters that check to see if you need anything else. They offer hand sanitizer and the restrooms are kept clean. I recommend this place. At least try it once. By the way, they will also make bunless burgers upon request and they also have salads on their menu if you are trying low carb meals. Just let them know that you want it wrapped in . Or you will just get a piece of ground beef with all the toppings on top.

This place has went to crap price went up and quality down since name change, the food absolutely sucks burger was dry

Nov 19th at 6pm. I ordered a panchos with chicken and I got my order with beef fajitas. This is very wrong so ranch house need for you to do something about this asap

Food was good but extra for fries or onion rings. Got 4 onion rings for additional $3.50. Nope.

Well this restaurant is now called Rustic Ranch and the change is amazing. The service was excellent, food was out of the kitchen quickly and cooked to perfection. I had the Fried Chicken sandwich that was cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The chicken breast was twice the size of the bun. We will be back.

The one in Mission is close by so I go there more often but have also been to the others. My go-to meal has always been their Fire In The Hole burger. I even learned to make a close copy of their garlic/habenero sauce at home. The last time I went, they replaced this sauce with another, chunkier sauce. I it would have been my first time there, it would have all been good. However, I had my tastebuds set on the original sauce and when I got this, I was a bit disappointed. It is a good enough salsa in its own right, but wasn't what I was looking forward to. The service is always good and they accommodate my dietary concerns as best as they can. So for that, they rank high.

Great Burgers, awesome customer service. The ambiance is awesome. I live the juicy Lucy, frito pie burgers.

Not your typical burger. I love the creativity and taste Ranch House invests into their burgers. Very, very Texas.

This hidden burger place in Weslaco is a bit south of 1015 street and old 83rd. Though burgers are their specialty, the menu is quite extensive. This being my first visit, I took a risk and ordered something that was not a burger. I mildly regretted that decision. I went with a chicken fried chicken. I got a big portion, there's no denying that. A side of mash and fries complimented my order. The chicken fried chicken looked promising. Although many might enjoy it, I didn't like the way it tasted very much. Of course, the standard I set for chicken fried chicken is, "does it taste like the Luby's" one. In this case, it didn't, so take that as you may. The fries serving and mash were great though. My wife ordered a burger. It was rather thick and juicy looking. It looks plain when they bring it to you, but that's because they have a salad bar where you can dress it to your liking. Since my wife could only finish halve of it because of how thick it was, I enjoyed the rest. Next time I go, I will stick with what the name proclaims to make the best...the burgers.

It was good food. Small servings but sufficient. There service was slow. 3 people in our party got their food and about 5 minutes later the last person got theirs. The server Will was friendly and efficient, he was very busy. The lemon that was put in my water was rotten.

Burgers are delicious and ginormous! Food is tasty and love that they host events. Service does tend to be on the slow side most days though.

My family and I were looking for a place for a good, juicy burger and we found it. This is our new favorite place.

Very very disappointed in out latest trip (only the 2nd) to Ranch House. Granted, it was on a holiday--4th of July. A wait was expected. They told me 30-45 min but it actually was about 10. Now I wonder if it was to discourage waiting. Anyway, got a table for 2 in good time. There were several long tables of 10+ patrons. Not a huge place to begin with. Waitress came & got our drink order. Brought our drinks and then took food orders. I noticed a couple at the next table who looked like they had been there awhile. I wondered what they had ordered that could take so long. The wife kept fanning her husband, so I thought he was just hot. I was too. I heard their waitress tell them it was on its way. The poor man eventually had to eat a banana out of wife's purse; he must have been diabetic. Still no food. We arrived at 12:30. At 1:30 still no food. Waitress brought free tortilla chips and a weird hot(temperature) brown salsa. Why was it brown? 2:15. Still no food. She refilled my Diet Coke. I'd already pounded a Dos Equus earlier. 2:30. Food comes. Big giant cheeseburger with A-1 and bacon and 4 onion rings. I saw on the menu an order was 8. I didn't say anything. We needed more pickles (they bring lettuce, tomato, onion & pickles on a separate plate after you order). We'd eaten the pickles waiting for our orders. And I needed a knife to cut my burger in half. No waitress around. I got up and went to the station where they keep the lettuce and served myself more pickles and asked for a knife. Got a rolled set of flatware different from the one that I was given initially. It had a steak knife!! So we proceed to dig in. Mine was wonderful. Crispy breaded onion rings, burger cooked all the way through like I like it. Nice soft bun but not too soft that it falls apart. Son's burger was the mushroom Swiss. It was cold. After all that wait, I said I'm calling the manager. Waitress never checked on us, they were all grouped around the window awaiting food orders. They knew service was s**t. Never did see a manager walking around. So I called the waitress over, sent the plate back, she apologized, and we wondered how long this was going to take. But in less than 5 minutes, here it came, a fresh burger, steaming hot. It's not the waitress's fault. Son was wary cause he's worked in restaurants, he's seen what goes on in the kitchen to food that gets sent back. Not in every restaurant, but it happens. The bill came to $36 and I left $6 tip. That table should have turned over twice in our time there. No explanation of why the wait. Let too many cooks off for the holiday? Grill down? Ran out of hamburger meat? I don't know. We left that restaurant at 3:00. Don't know if I'll ever go back. Certainly not on July 4th!!

This restaurant is surprisingly good. They have good size portions. I ordered a buffalo chicken salad. Like I mentioned before it was a large portion. The greens were crisp and the salad was pretty loaded. They also add pineapple in it. I was skeptical at first, however the sweetness of the pineapple really compliments the buffalo sauce on the chicken. I am a big salad eater and I was impressed with the salad I was served. They also have BBQ on the menu. They have plenty of options to chose from. We plan on coming here again soon!

I would have picked a ZERO star rating, but I had to pick one star - although this place didn't deserve it. Our family showed up at 7:45pm confident the restaurant closed at 8:00pm. The manager must not have felt like working, because we were turned away the minute we walked in the door. The manager was rude, told us they had no customers so she decided to close! The wait staff almost ran over us as they ran for the door. The interior was dark, but the outdoor lights were still on. I hope the restaurant owner reads this! Customers beware!

Excellent burger as always, Ranch House always delivers!!! I had the Tumbleweed burger combo, great price for the burger, fries and drink.

I missed this place! This restaurant was located in the same location a while back and used to be inside a house. But sadly it had a big fire and had to close. While the family re-opened the restaurant in Mission, I always hoped they would bring it back to the Weslaco area. Finally did and while it's not a house anymore it has a lot more room despite the lack of kitschy items it had before. Burgers are always fantastic. You dress your own burgers with onions, lettuce, etc ala Wallbangers or Fuddruckers. I love the fire in your hole burger! Not as hot as you would expect. I have really only had the burgers but overall I haven't had a desire to stray yet. I will take the plunge eventually! Must try!

Had reserved party room for birthday and they made a mistake on date "supposedly" and gave a cold sorry. Very inconvenient for employee stupidity and lack of customer service

Different Burgers are a fun option. Other menu items good as well. Entertainment and service good.

Didn't know this place even existed until a friend took us there. The burgers are delicious. Our service was excellent We returned the following week and experienced the same.

OMG the burgers are to die for. I am so happy that my Boss and I came to Ranch House Burger. I think the name of the burger that I had was called the Boarder Burger. It was delicious. The service at this location is amazing. When you walk in they have a menu with the specials and specials are a steal for what you get. I will definitely come to eat here again and recommend you try it out.

Found on internet, food sounded great and hours of operation said it was open, so wife and drove out to the Weslaco location got there at the Weslaco location at 8:30 pm to find it closed and no lights on? Web page stated it was open till midnight. image a restaurant closed on Saturday at 8:30! sure glad Frankies hamburgers is opening where Fat Daddy's used to be. a very disappointed former customer of Ranch House Burger.

Delicious place!! Yummy mushrooms and amazing burgers! Note to management though- update your hours please! Just walked in because I thought you closed at midnight, but you close at 9 :( Way to get a pregnant lady's Hope's up :.( lol

Had a late lunch at this location today. Party of three. The place was pretty packed so we figured a short wait must be worth the food. We were wrong. Our order: Cowboy burger combo (fried and tea) Chicken fried chicken (sides Mac and corn) Fried fish and shrimp (sides mashed potato and corn) 1. Combo - tea was so watered down we mistook it for water. Hamburger was good. 2. Chicken fried chicken - was extremely greasy and rubbery. The Mac and cheese was very watered down and the corn was fine. Came with a small side salad that was good and some Texas toast. 3. Fish and shrimp - fish was almost completely raw in the middle. Maybe they fried it frozen? Idk but it was gross. The mashed potatoes had no flavor and the corn was fine. We will not be dining here again.

Look on yelp on a Sunday and this place says it's open. We drove 20 minutes here and it's closed. Idiotic. When we have come before the chicken fried chicken is poorly breaded and falls apart. Everything else was delicious but we have had some poorly made plates here. Burgers are great but any food that requires more than just slapping food on a grill you will have to risk Come when they are open, I would suggest calling ahead as this is the second time their online hours are wrong.

My 1st time at this location & loved it! Everyone greeted us right away & was super friendly & attentive the entire time as well as said goodbye on our way out. All the food is very well served/big portions, super delicious, hot & fresh ingredients. My only "complaint" is that their fire in the hole sauce was just a tad different than the Mission location. It was not diced as small, looked redder but, not as spicy...it was still really good though & I look forward to more!

Reviews on yelp were what had us go to this place. Ordered sweet tea and got Dr Pepper then when exchanged couldn't drink it tasted funny. So you'd think a restaurant that has brisket on half it's menu would have it, but NO brisket in the place. Great chili cheese fries and husband enjoyed his burger.

Great food at very reasonable price! I got the cowboy burger with a fried egg. It's a little messy to eat but oh so worth it. The fried mushroom appetizer was heaven to me: well seasoned crispy breading on the outside and hot juicy mushroom on the inside. Yum!

I have had the chicken fried steak, shrimp plate, plenty of hamburgers, and I have to say that everything is excellent, hot and fresh, clean, and well decorated in the road-house theme. Service is top-notch. I have also been to the location in Mission as well. A+++++++++++++

Poor service and poor food. Waited 5 minutes before "hostess" appeared. She seemed clueless on how to greet customers. Ordered a club sandwich that was served on burnt grilled bread. Their idea of a club sandwich was a BLT with slices of ham. Hubby had hamburger that he said was ok. No napkins were provided - had to ask and got one little piece of paper towel. While this place was popular with locals it didn't impress us.

Best Burger's and Chicken fried steak we've found in Texas. This place is hopping!! Large portions, very tasty, excellent staff (five star), it is clean and super cute. The only thing we dislike about this restaurant is it's 12 hours from our home in the pan handle. We went twice on our vacation. Cannot wait to return one day!

Service was great! They were kind and welcoming. Tables were socially distanced. I had the Mushroom Swiss burger. It was impeccable! The fries were also a perfect combo of crunch and softness. Everything was fresh and delicious. I will be back!

Worst service ever. Worst food ever. No apologies from wait staff. Just excuses. "I'm not the server" when asked for missing items from our order. Tortillas were burned, hamburger buns were burned, tried to charge us for items we did not receive, took 5 trips to bring drinks half of which were water, three people finished their meal before two people got theirs. Food is way over priced, don't waste your money here.

Had to meet with a friend and he was here so my family and I decided to grab a bite. Oh crap, this food was awesome. I got the Border Burger and added bacon, best burger I've ever had. Son loved the chili cheese hotdog and fries. Wife had the chicken friend chicken with okra and green beans. The okra and green beans were fresh and she said the best she's ever had which is huge since she is usually disappointed at other restaurants. Unfortunately they don't have a location in Houston or it would be my go to place to eat. They are super friendly and there is plenty of parking in the back, even for my truck and horse trailer to fit. We will definitely come here every time we come to the valley. Too bad my burger filled me up or I'd get some of the Blue Bell ice cream they have here. However that didn't stop my son from getting some mint chocolate chip ice cream in a cone.

The hamburger steak with fries and salad is a real treat. It is cooked medium rare perfectly ever time which makes going there great. My wife had a ranch house which was cooked perfect. The fries are very good. They had live music which was very enjoyable. You need to get there early for dinner as they get very busy.

So far their John Wayne burger ranks #1 on my list of Best Burgers in Texas. They are a bit on the expensive side but you get your moneys worth!

I'm glad I stopped here during my visit to Weslaco. My boyfriend had the avocado burger and I had the Texas Border Burger. They were great! I asked for mine to be cooked medium rare and they did just that. We had a side of fries and they were fresh and crispy - loved them! I would definitely recommend stopping here
