Overall a mixed experience at Rustic Spoon. We really enjoyed the Fresh Veggie Spring Rolls. I also loved my fruit tea it was sweet and delicious. I am bummed however because neither my wife nor I enjoyed the flavors of our mains. We got steak and udon noodles and the steak was fairly good and well cooked but the noodles had a very off taste. The pad thai had a similar flavor like it had been cooked in a pan that wasn't clean or had residual flavors. We normally love Thai food and flavors - maybe this is just how this spot prepares theirs but it just wasnt for us!

Wow .this is an elegant Parisian inspired cafe with deep green banquets, bamboo black and white cafe chairs , chandeliers and orchids , lovely music plays so chic !!! great for date night, food is beautiful as it is delicious amazing . We ordered the chicken Panang Curry and Pineapple shrimp rice , they put tiny flavorful tomatoes in the rice , blew my mind ! The tea opens up into a flower amazing Service is wonderful .what a pleasant surprise .

Delicious khao soiiiiii! This is not a popular Thai spot but still tasty. I enjoy every I ordered from the menu

We came here for lunch on a weekday. Parking's a little tricky. They have a couple slots right behind the building in a little parking lot. Spaces are very small. If not they're street parking but we found that all the parking on the restaurant side of the street was taken but the parking across the street which is also metered was open. We were able to get a table and a patio which was nice because it was a nice sunny day and we got to enjoy the good weather. The portions on the food is decent so you may or may not need an appetizer but but I really like the roti with the curry sauce here. We also got the drinking noodles which had more sauce than I'm used to on them but they were very delicious. We got basil eggplant with tofu which came with rice and that was really good too. I got the the lychee pomegranate spritzer and that was really refreshing. I do like coming to this place when I am in Southern California for a visit.

Amazing, authentic food that came out in 10 minutes! One of the best Thai places I’ve been to!

Amazing Taste and very good food! The peanut sauce for the veggie spring rolls is amazing. The pad Thais has a very good somewhat sweet taste. Just add a little lemon and it makes the flavors pop out. Highly recommended. Their drinks are also very good and lunch specials are reasonably priced. will be coming back soon!

My sisters & I came in on Jan. 3, 2025 it was very tasty & good environment to eat inside or out. The service was really nice along with the food, very flavorful! We usually come to get laser done down the way & happy to finally find a good place to eat after our appointments. Waiter had thought something was wrong bcz my sister didn’t tip but my other sister had tipped. This was the only thing that made things awkward. I apologize but not everyone can tip. This is the 1st time we had the waiter say, “To fill in the tip part on the recite.” Other than that everything was really nice & the thai tea was really good! Definitely looking forward to going back. I’ll update with more pics :)

I have been to Rustic Spoon many times and only wrote 2 reviews. I don't know how much to RAVE about this lovely restaurant with their GREAT, EXCELLENT, AWESOME, FRIENDLY, yet professional customer service. However, I haven't been there in a long time. Maybe like 3 or 4 years?? I kind of forgot about this lovely, beautiful, quaint, restaurant. Yesterday, after a long day at a dentist office, my son and I drove all the way from Glendale to Studio City to have some DIVINE, DELICIOUS, FLAVERFUL, HOT, FRESH food at Rustic Spoon. I mean everything always tastes soooooo goooooooddd in every way. No matter what you order from their extensive menu. Well, last night right when they reopened at 4:30pm we were the first 2 customers that walked in. We were greeted by a lady by the name of Pear who had a nice demeanor about her and a beautiful, welcoming smile. We sat in their lovely, beautiful, cozy patio that was so nice, quiet and lit with romantic lights. It was so needed to be there, enjoy not only the ambiance, but the fresh air, service, food and relaxation that we both got. Food is on point. Always consistent. As it should be. I don't know what their main ingredients and recipes are, but somehow they always taste GREAT!!!! We ordered 1 order of Salmon Roll, 1 order of Roti App, Green Cilantro Salad, Large Tom Ka soup with shrimp add steam tofu, an order of Beef Panang, that came with White Rice and last, but not least Pad See Ew with tofu add Shrimp. Everything like I have already said few times; tasted beyond DELICIOUS!! Just GREAT!! Pear checked on us to see if everything was ok, I told her it was more than ok. Thank you. They have done some remodeling with the restaurant which looked modest, classy, romantic and beautiful. Perfect place to go on a date and you can sit inside or in the patio. Both works. Keep up the great work RUSTIC SPOON. One of my favorite Thai Restaurants in the San Fernando Valley area. Will be back soon. This was the first Rustic Spoon location I ever tried, so I definitely have a soft spot for it. Their outdoor patio is so cute. I always thought it was a great spot for a date. I ordered for take out this time, and unfortunately the night I came in the power was out. LA heatwaves, amirite? Regardless of that hiccup, the staff there was very friendly and did everything they could via candlelight. I was impressed! I ordered a beef salad, chicken pad thai and some gyoza. The dipping sauce for the gyoza was delightful. Chicken pad thai was a really huge portion. It was good, but not my absolute favorite pad thai ever. The Beef salad was really good, but it was just beef and not so much a salad. The beef itself and the sauce it was in was so delicious. Tender and flavorful, however I felt like it was lacking greens. I definitely do love this place and will continue to get food from here when I'm in the NoHo area. While take out is never a bad idea, I do recommend dining al fresco on their enclosed patio.

It's solid. The women here are all so v nice. The food is solid and it's a good place to just come and chill, have a good lunch. No more and no less.

Delicious Thai food is served here. My husband and I had lunch here after an appointment and loved the food. The chicken fresh rolls were so good that I will go back just to eat that. Served with a special sauce. We also shared a pad see ew and a chicken eggplant dish. Both very flavorful, saucy and delicious. It's a cute cozy restaurant. Parking can be challenging. Service is ok, could have been better but the reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is because of their serving-ware and glassware. Our water and lemonade was served in these tall acrilic worn out cups that looked so bad. And one of the dishes had a chip. Once we sat down all excited to eat here the waitress brought out the water and we are like omg what is this. Can't they buy glass cups to serve their water and juices in ? Look at the picture I took and you will know what I mean. Very unappealing. We couldn't drink it. Overall it's a great place to have lunch or dinner Most importantly the food is great and next time I'm here I won't get any drinks. Or if they offer bottled drinks I'll get that. Also I noticed they have another location in Valley Village so I'll have to try that one as well. Hope they are not using the same glassware. Lol

You haven't experienced life until you are sitting down at this amazing Thai place, listening (because they are talking at full volume) to a first date, which, yep they are in the "industry", as associate producers. I learned Jared the producer likes punch. Thankfully my friend showed up, and then we decided to eat. We started with the veggie egg rolls with plum sauce. Damn, these are good. The filling, everything. And not greasy which is huge. My friend went with the Tom Ka Soup and loved it. The mains: I have a garlic intolerance, and was eyeing the Pad Kee Ew, which in the menu says it's sauce has garlic and a black bean sauce. It does not note this on the web. Happy to report, no garlic sauce, nor bb in It, so the menu is wrong. I went with the shrimp. Amazing. The broccoli in it, the sauce, very light and toss in the shrimp with the noodles - yummy high five. My friend went with the Crispy Fried Chicken and really enjoyed it. The sauce it comes with is similar tasting to the plum sauce with the egg rolls. I tried one small piece of the crispy chicken and was impressed. The coating (made of wheat) was light and crunchy, the chicken was fine and again no grease. Service is outstanding. As for the first date with the APs, who we learned one is now a PA (production assistant), it looked like a second date was going to happen, although we were surprised to see they were each wearing sweatpants. Those kids!

Craving Thai on my lunch break, came here based on reviews! The interior and patio are cuter than you'd expect, based on the surroundings. The service is immediately lovely and attentive. Menu is odd, it's already pretty short, and multiple items are crossed off (how much do I want to try the now defunct crab spring roll?!) Got the Pad Thai with fried tofu. The flavors were terrific, texture of noodles was perfect. This was a saucier pad Thai, with almost no char. I don't mind this, but I feel like those are the two "types" so I mention it. I really can't say enough about the service. I love a place that packs your leftovers for you and she even packed the remainder of my Thai iced tea in a to go cup. A bit pricey, with tax and tip I spent $30 on lunch for one. Though portion wise you could easily split a noodle dish with a friend.

This location is small and intimate, perfect for date night or a double date. The service is prompt, friendly, and very accommodating. They want to make sure you're satisfied with your overall experience. The food is flavorful and mouth-watering. The vegetable spring rolls were delicious. I have been coming here for years and the food and service have been consistently great. I love ordering the green or panang curry, or the drunken noodles. They also have great Thai tea. I usually order pickup but if I bring someone here I like sitting outside on the patio for dinner with the cute lights.

The chicken and vegetable roll is a must to try, the sauce is everything. I have been here 3 times and every time I tried the eggplant dish. This last time it didn't taste as good as before. The green curry was good but not the chicken, I only ate the veggies with rice. The staff and the owner are friendly and welcoming. They have indoor and outdoor dining area, which I always prefer sitting outdoor.

In search of finding good chicken pad thai! I ordered delivery and this place is pretty good - noodle to sauce ratio is awesome and it's pretty tasty! The only thing I'd say it's missing is spice options like some other restaurants have.. I would've loved a little spice! But definitely a must try if you can't handle spice. It's really not spicy at all haha but super flavorful!

Yummy!!!! Not normally a thai tea girl but DEFINITELY recommend their thai tea, so yummy. Also got green chicken curry and pad see ew. Both tasty! I normally stray away from more "modern" looking thai places but Rustic Spoon felt quite homey, and the seating area was cute. Staff was quick and nice!

This place sounded so good for a casual Friday date night with my boyfriend, so we went to try it out. Service was nice and quick. My boyfriend got the pho with beef, but in a vegetable broth. He loved it. I wanted the Pad See Ew but our waitress said the noodles were not gluten free, so she would bring it but with different noodles. She then brings out a regular pad see ew and I noticed it looked "normal" so I double checked it was GF. It was not. She then brings me a completely different dish (what I now realize is the Drunken Noodle). I ate it because I felt bad sending back another dish, but was bummed because I wanted the pad see ew. For those wanting Drunken Noodles, I think this dish will do the trick! It was good, just not what I wanted and the miscommunication was a bit stressful, so I forgot to get a pic of the Drunken Noodles. Parking is tough right next to the restaurant but there are plenty of side streets!

Mango sticky rice was amazing! The service was great, very attentive to us while dinning. All the food was great!

Rustic Spoon maybe be tiny, but they are huge when it comes to flavor, portions and service. Walking through the door we were Immediately seated and greeted with a smile. We strapped on the feed bag and ordered a nice variety of great dishes. The large Tom Yum was loaded with shrimp and was more than enough for two people. The Yellow Curry (ordered spicy) had large chunks of Chicken, Potato and Carrots - great flavor. The Krapow with Chicken was the favorite dish of the meal. The spicy basil sauce had some nice heat to it and it was excellent. We also tried the Warm Noodle Steak with red Cabbage. We the sauce was a bit sweet for us but the dish was loaded with several medallions of Grilled marinated steak. Overall, it was an excellent meal and the service was so friendly and accommodating. I'm sorry to say that it's been four years since I've last been here, but we will be making many more visits in 2023.

Please not this Restaurant has "last call" at 3pm. While they say they're open until 330pm that's incorrect. The person who greeted us let us know the cooks were already on break when we arrived at 310pm and we could not be sat/served. Not to mention we drove over 45mins and hit Friday traffic to try this place. Very disappointed in our experience.

This is honestly the best Thai spot that I've ever been! The bbq chicken and drunken noodles melts in your mouth. The inside of the building looks very aesthetic and was the perfect vibe for my girlfriend and I for date night. The waitresses were super nice & very informative and helped guide us to the perfect dining experience. This place is way better than a 5/5 - broke the scale. My favorite Thai place of all time

5/5 for service 4/5 for ambiance 3/5 for food tonight. Super disappointing. I lived in LA for years and went out of my way to go here regularly. Tonight, the massaman curry was very bland. The potatoes were under-cooked and the chicken was not as tender as it usually is. But mostly it just had no flavor. The panang was creamy and more flavorful but the vegetables were very under-cooked and the pumpkin was not ripe at all. It was inedible. We did enjoy our egg rolls.

This place is a sure fire LA valley Thai spot. I used to come here with an ex that got me hip. Despite her ripping my heart out and throwing it throughs a wood chipper, I still come here because the food is that good. I just wear a fake mustache and white eye contacts in the off chance she walks in the door. Anyways, the waitstaff is legit. They are so polite and the place has overall great ambiance. Keep up the solid food y'all.

Trusted Thai place. If you just get food, it's really cheap and fills you up pretty well. The tom kah had a great broth even if the chicken was a little overcooked? Ate it anyway because the broth was so good.

Rustic Spoon has been bookmarked for so long, so I'm glad that I finally got to try it for dinner this past weekend! My party arrived to the restaurant on Sunday at around 6:30pm and managed to find street parking in front of the restaurant. Other Yelpers have reported that there's a private lot behind the restaurant, but I didn't get a chance to check. We sat outdoors, which was still warm at this time because the overhead heaters were on at our table. Also, at this time, all indoor tables were taken and there was only 1 staff member taking orders. We got the Fried Calamari, Drunken Noodles with Shrimp, and Panang Curry with Salmon and White Rice. The Calamari was yummy - fried lightly golden, crispy, and complemented with the dipping sauce. The Drunken Noodles were thick and indulgent with a hint of heat; and the shrimp was perfectly cooked, but wished there were more veggies in the mix. The Curry was creamy, flavorful, and aromatic. However, the salmon didn't make much of a difference to the dish; it tasted like it was fried separately and added to the curry before serving. The pumpkin in the curry was the star of the show for me; it added great texture and I could've used more of it. Just a heads up for the curry: we ordered a 2nd bowl of rice (1 is already included with the dish) and we were charged $2 extra. Also, I rarely get special drinks when eating out, but I wanted to try their Rose Mojito. It looked very pretty and tasted like a rose-flavored soda with a hint of mint. Good 1st experience at Rustic Spoon. The restaurant is small, but the food and service are memorable!

I have been dying to visit The Rustic Spoon and I finally went on a weeknight at 5 pm. My friend and I were the first and only customers that early, but by the time we left the hidden gem of a restaurant, it was packed with people waiting for tables to open up. The restaurant itself is small and tastefully decorated with wooden tables, leather chairs, chandeliers, and plants everywhere. Service was also impeccable. But most important, and the real reason you're bothering to read this review lol, the food was AMAZING! Seriously, it was some of the best Thai food I have had in a good long while. I ordered the curry noodle with chicken because it's not your typical staple dish that most Thai restaurants offer, and I felt like trying something unique (think yellow curry and Thai noodles combined). The dish was so flavorful and mouthwateringly delicious; the combination of the curry spices, grilled chicken, bell peppers, spinach, carrots, and noodles was superb. Seriously I could not stop eating! Even after I was full I kept going - that's how exceptional the food was. I also loved the Rose mojitos we ordered. Now you might be disappointed when you realize it's not a real mojito, as all of their drinks are non-alcoholic, but don't be! Alcohol or not, the rose "mojito" was phenomenal! Essentially a sparkling water mocktail with rose water, lime juice, mint, and dried rose buds, the rose mojito is not only aesthetically stunning but deliciously refreshing as well. Honestly everything was impressive and I cannot think of a single negative thing to say about The Rustic Spoon. So it's not a question of if I go back, but when ;)

This location is a small but quaint little Thai restaurant. But even though it's a small location, it has really big flavor! I got there as they opened (11am), and was immediately greeted by the staff. I was seated and the waitress answered all my questions. They're really friendly and the service was great! I ended up getting the "Drunken Noodles" with beef (Medium Spice). The noodles were flavorful and I can still feel the heat from the wok. The beef was tender and cooked to perfection. Although, next time, I might want to bring the spice level up a notch. I will have to come back and try some of their rice and curry dishes.

We were able to snag the last parking spot in the back of the resturant, the waiter was especially kind and patient with us. The fried rice with crab meat and Thai iced tea were amazing, I liked the aftertaste of the fried rice and it kept me wanting more. The A/C was a bit cold, but the centerpieces, candles, and soft music more than made up for it. I would recommend the place :)

I normally don't give out the 5 stars but had a such a tasty meal. Food was delicious and fresh. We were greeted with a big smile and had excellent service. Tom Ka soup is one my favorites and did not disappoint. This was the first place that served pad kra pao (krapow) so I had to try. Was amazing. Come eat here before a show at the Hollow Bowl. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy! ** Pro Tip. Park at the Ventura Blvd lot and catch the shuttle to Hollywood Bowl. $6 Round Trip

Really good solid neighborhood Thai place thats got the usual dishes well prepared with good ingredients. Its a great place to take a bunch of folks or meet someone. Great patio seating, and the food comes pretty promptly. I have been to the other one in Valley Village and its just as good. If Im in the mood for Thai nearby this place is my first choice.

We were looking for some great Thai Food and the reviews made this place look outstanding. We ordered our food for take out and food was prepared in a short amount of time. First item Larb was not flavorful at all. Usually it is served with lettuce on the side to have Larb in a wrap. Lettuce was mixed in with Larb which just made soggy lettuce. Pad Thai was with chicken. Chicken very dry. Pad Thai too sweet for our liking. Most Pad Thai meals are served with peanuts on top and fresh bean sprouts. None of these. Pad see Ew with beef was unfortunately the worst we have ever had. The beef was hardly edible because it was hard to chew and had such a strange flavor. Noodles overcooked to taste like mush. Maybe the cook had a bad day. Sorry, we don't like to spend these prices eating out and not get decent food. We won't be returning.

Pretty great food. Went for lunch and had the papaya salad (very fresh tasting), the green curry with salmon, and the pad thai with tofu. Everything had great flavor. The biggest downside was the lack of any spice. We ordered the green curry Medium, but it was barely even Mild... I'd say it lacked heat completely. Flavorful for sure! But no kick at all. The papaya salad, which in many places is TOO spicy, had absolutely no kick as well. But that said, would go again. Would just make sure that they know to add a little kick.

Got a pad Thai and a steak salad. Portion sizes are tiny and the steak was extremely tuff. For the price and area there's too many better options. Look elsewhere.

I'd give no stars if I could. I tried to order on line, but it wasn't working properly. I phoned them. They took the order but we're going to charge me $77 verses $62 on the web. I said this was unreasonable as I would pick up the order, and why would I pay that much more? She said on line ordering was working, it was not, well me the customer trying to use it said it wasn't. (What happened to the customer is always right?) After some back and forth she told me she was not authorized to give the discount. I advised her that I would pay the $62 but not $77 and if they didn't want to honor the web price (wherein it did not work) then I'd simply not order. Her choice was to not accept the phone order and lose the order and money altogether. Wow!! Why would we ever go there or recommend it when we're treated like that? There are other Thai restaurants in the area.

Three of us came here after a screening at the TV Academy. We ordered the salmon rolls (4) $16 so $4 each with one yellow mustard and the other sweet dip - good, but expensive; Pad Thai, and Pad See Ew ($2 extra for shrimp). Everything was delicious! We were full and finished everything. Service was good. We had moved 2 small tables together and sat in the front patio bc inside was cold from the air conditioning. We parked on the street. Will be back!

I have to say this place is always delicious. Every single thing I've had here is fantastic. We started with water and lemon in super cold metal cups. I have to note the water was very lemony and we love it. Weird, I know, but it was yummy water. Apps: fresh spring rolls were so good I had no time to take a picture before they were gone. We had the yellow curry dish and they made it with rice noodles instead of rice. It's was amazing. I had the entire thing - it probably served at least two if not three people. Yes, I felt guilty after but still enjoyed it so much! The eggplant basil is my hubby's favorite. I usually have the pad see ew but their sauce cannot be made gluten free so I decided to be good for just one day. Service: SPECTACULAR! Our server was smiling so much and she was super sweet... we loved her and will come back to her again. Ambiance: they remodeled and added great lamps and a chandelier inside. Really cute casual now but lefts face it, the food is so good I would've come back and sat on barrels if I had to. It's that delish. Top notch all around. I'll see you next week!

Crispy Fried Chicken Curry Noodles Pad Thai You need to try all of this!!! It's like rainbow of the flavors in your mouth.

A very small Thai restaurant in the neighborhood. I wanted to try this restaurant every time I passed by. Finally visited there and ordered food to go. While I was waiting for the food, a lady came out from the kitchen and gave me a cup of Thai ice tea, which was nice. Bbq chicken was good. Pad see ew was good as well. Tom yum soup and spring rolls were just okay. Their service was nice and friendly. I will be back one of those days. 4 stars.

Rustic spoon is a cute little restaurant that provides Thai/Asian fusion dishes. A friend and I recently visited after a trip to Universal Studios. When we got there it wasn't busy at all. They have a small outdoor patio for dining. There are also a number of tables for indoor dining. Vaccination cards are required for dine in. We got: * Floral Tea: My friend said this had a mild pleasant taste * Veggie Egg rolls: These were crispy on the outside and mushy inside but I liked them * BBQ chicken plate: I personally wasn't a fan of the flavor and this was a little dry * Pad See Ew: This is my go to Thai noodle. The sauce was a little too sweet to me. * Chocolate lava cake A la mode: The cake had a grainy texture. I didn't enjoy it. The service was friendly and quick since we were the only ones there. Prices are on the upper end, but still fair. Parking is in the back in a shared lot.

Stopped by here before the dinner rush so we could get a good meal before heading to Universal Studios. Fast service and they have some seats for outdoor dining. Food came by very fast. Curry was fresh and the rice plates had many options, with great seasoning. Service was so nice and accommodating. Indoor is small, but they are efficient.

After a long day at Universal Studios, we were excited to eat some yummy food. We arrived during the evening. Parking on the street was good. Customer service was amazing. Our waiter was extremely friendly and attentive. We started with delicious crispy vegetable egg rolls with sweet and sour sauce. The MASSAMAN CURRY SAUCE was bland and the potatoes were a little undercooked. The Panang curry had a great taste. But the pumpkins and pepper weren't cooked well, the vegetable was a bit crunchy. The brown rice was really good. Overall this place was okay but the laid-back environment was nice with plenty of seating.
