Looking for a lively spot with a fun and inviting atmosphere? Rusty Bull definitely delivers on that front! From the moment we walked in, the energy was contagious. They've created a space that feels great for a casual night out with friends. The food was undeniably delicious, with some really tasty dishes coming out of the kitchen. However, we did find some of our selections to be a touch on the salty side, so that's something to be aware of. On the plus side, the drink menu is extensive, offering plenty of options to quench your thirst, whatever your preference. Where Rusty Bull fell a little short was the service. While not outright bad, it certainly wasn't a highlight of our experience. One thing to note for families: while we enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere, it didn't strike us as the most kid-friendly environment, particularly for younger children. The noise level and overall vibe seem geared more towards adults. Overall: Rusty Bull is a solid choice if you're prioritizing a fun atmosphere and tasty food with a wide array of drinks. Just consider if the lively environment is suitable for your little ones.

Google
Amazing food!!! Ok beers. No AC :( It's also nice that they have mixed drinks. The hot honey chicken sandwich is phenomenal, the hot dog was amazing. The fries are also excellent, but a-la cart, so your check adds up quickly.

Google
Great spot. Excellent food. It’s attached to a separate business that offers mini golf, axe throwing, floor is lava and some other fun things for adults and kids. Would definitely recommend

Google
My husband and I stopped by, ordered a couple beers and food... very good bar food!!! Beers were the Berry Stomp Fruited Wheat and Triphopanonymous Triple Hopped Double IPA - great!! This is a great little fem tucked into a someone nondescript building and connected to it, is axe throwing and mini golf!!! This is a must visit any time we come in town now. We have had a blast!! Thank you Rusty Bull!!

Google
My wife and I had a nice experience at the Rusty Bull Brewing Company. We enjoyed a bucket of four beers for $20, which was quite reasonable to try four beers we had never had before. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a discount on the price for being teachers. That showed an appreciation for our careers, which was an added bonus. We suggest everyone tries a beer or two here...

Kyle is the best! Very friendly, attentive and gave us wonderful service. Rusty Bull is such a chill place, great vibe, awesome beer. Highly recommend!

Google
Had a great time here for a friends birthday! The staff was friendly and helpful. Everyone liked most of the beers they tried, and the food was delicious! Throwing axes was a lot of fun, we’ll definitely be back!

Google
Fun Brewery to hang out at! They have some yard games to play on nice days and are throwing is in the same building (different company runs it). The beers were unique, some were better than others. The service was pretty good, not the most cheerful bartenders but everything went smoothly and we enjoyed our stay.

Yelp
While visiting Charleston for a graduation celebration, we stumbled into Rusty Bull Brewing and let me just say--thank the foodie gods we did. I ordered the 3005 Burger, and y'all... I was not prepared. This wasn't just a burger. This was an experience. Juicy, flavorful, perfectly seasoned beef stacked with all the right fixings--it was messy in the best way and cooked to absolute perfection. Every bite was a harmony of smoky, savory, and slightly sweet bliss. But what really put this meal over the top was the mastermind behind the grill--Wax. Whoever this wizard is, give him a raise, a trophy, and maybe his own Food Network show. You could tell this burger was made with love, intention, and serious culinary skill. We came for a celebration, but we left talking about that burger. Honestly, if you're in Charleston and don't stop by Rusty Bull Brewing for the 3005 Burger, you're doing it wrong. Wax, you earned a fan for life.

Yelp
Located in what looks like a repurposed warehouse lies the Rusty Bull microbrewery. Unfortunately this seems to come with a fair share of critters that should remain outside. More on that later. There is a limited selection of beers to choose from, maybe 12 or so with maybe a quarter of which are IPA's. I would have liked to see more choices and variety. I got served by a waitress using the pseudonym "Red." I ordered their highest abv IPA and a burger. I thought the burger was delicious even though I had to swat away a fly that actually landed on it. I took the L and ate the sandwich anyway. The garlicky fries it came with were yummy as well. The beer I thought was solid but average. It lacked the body I've come to expect from an IPA. They did serve it in a full size glass though which was a pleasant surprise. Most places I've been to serve high gravity beers in smaller glasses. After the beer I ordered a flight and those beers were solid but average in my opinion, too. My last order was for a Bloody Mary and it beat my expectations. Perfectly balanced with a strong black pepper presence as I like it. I would recommend giving this place a go but I think the place needs to improve the malt bills of the beers as well as introduce more variety.

Yelp
We were passing thru and decided to stop here. Decent selection of beers and food. I had the Cidah hard cider beer. The beer had a light flavor to it. Its a nice spot.
google avatar

Katie N.

Yelp
Decent spot. I tried one of their ipas, the juicy juice. It was tasty. I ordered some chicken tenders for lunch. The size of the tenders were tiny, but flavorful.

Yelp
Had an overall excellent experience at this brewery. We stopped by on the way to the airport and were very pleasantly surprised with phenomenal service and great beers. The bartender (who I forgot to ask his name) was incredible and truly made this experience what it was. He was wonderful to talk to and even threw in a couple beers to take home! We noticed they had a lot of great deals throughout the week. Plenty of games to play and is even right next to an axe throwing spot.

Yelp
Service was s l o w. Burger was brunt and dry and they added a 20% tip to my bill without my ok. Not a fan.
google avatar

Jeff G.

Yelp
Cool vibe and great beer. Attached to an axe throwing place for extra fun. Great prices on flights to get an idea what to take home

Yelp
Love Rusty Bull! I came here with a date for Monday bingo night. We won bingo and got free pretzel bites! I ordered chicken strips with tater tots and they were hot and delicious! t's a big space but a small bar and only a couple picnic tables inside. Parking can get tricky but there's additional in the back. Excellent customer service!

Yelp
My first night of my trip my sister and I stopped here for a drink. There was a comedy show going on and a cover for it but we just wanted a drink. Luckily they let us sit outside and have a couple drinks and enjoy the night. The waitress remembered we were out there and came out and chatted with us for a bit which was nice. Very enjoyable time.

Yelp
I have been there before and enjoyed it very much however... Went there with the large group of friends for trivia. The place was totally packed, which I loved. What I didn't like was that you could not hear a single question that the guy was answering. We were not impressed that he started off his trivia around with the comment telling us that if we couldn't hear him, it was our problem. A couple of us went and asked him about not being able to hear and he said that the noise would die down. It did not. We all threw in the towel because we couldn't hear a damn thing. Also, they open the big garage doors and the temperature went up 20° in about a minute and a half. Again, been there many times, great beer great food... Can't say that I'll be back for the trivia!

Yelp
Interesting vibe, feels like a dive bar brewery. Friendly staff and good beer make it a fun place to enjoy the food. I had the hot dog and enjoyed it with the really good mustard they use.

Yelp
We stumbled upon Rusty Bull and really liked it. It's open & airy with ample bar and table seating. There are 20 beers brewed on site. We tried Free the Triple (Belgium triple 9.5 ABV) and the Juice Juice (hazy ipa 6.7 ABV, house favorite) - both spot on. Tuesday's are Taco Tuesdays. Two tacos and a pint for $8. Wednesdays have a pint and a half dozen of wings for $12. Colby, bartender, and friendly customers make this a good place to go. Free on-site parking.

Jennifer K.

Yelp
Stopped in for drinks. Bartender clearly didn't want to be serving. Despite attitude she felt justified selecting higher tip on the touchpad than 20%. Strawberry margarita poorly made and tasted like pineapple. Beers were okay.

Yelp
Rusty Bull Brewery is the perfect bar to come try delicious, local, craft brews with friends. The staff are all passionate about providing great beer along with great service. They have a large selection with flavor profiles for all to enjoy and tasty bites to go with them. I love the sausage dogs personally. They have an outdoor seating area as well to enjoy the beautiful Charleston weather and fire pits to keep warm when it's chilly. To top it all off they share a space with Chucktown axe throwing. You can sample great brews and have an exhilarating time throwing axes with friends. This place has the perfect recipe for a fun night out.
google avatar

Chrissy F.

Yelp
A brewery for those hops enthusiasts! I enjoyed the flights and flavor varieties plus bartenders were attentive. Went a few times in years past and went with some coworkers recently for an axe-throwing night. They have a variety of seating plus live music at times. Parking can get tricky but there's additional in the back.

Yelp
This was my first visit, went with a group to try music bingo. The interior was not very big but it was ok. The bar tenders were professional but not overly friendly or anything. I ordered the beer flight and had a chance to try four different 4 ounce pours. I enjoyed a couple of them. One in particular, had hints of coffee and chocolate that made it a great choice for brunch. (The Tumbling Monk) I ordered the Brunch burger it arrived with an egg on top, I don't recall that being indicated on the menu however they said they'd remake it but came back in less than five minutes with a "replacement burger so not sure if they just removed the egg and added cheese or what but the remake time was "really quick" The burger was ok. It has crispy onions which I love and a nice amount of bacon, aioli, cheese and a double patty. They only offered tater tots as a side during brunch so the menu was very limited. Everyone else in the group ordered the breakfast wrap, I was told it was nothing to write home about, and that it needed seasoning, and was dry. If I return I will only order a beer and tater tots Lol

Yelp
Fantastic beer, great service, good prices, decent food. No complaints. Next time I want to try out the axe throwing next door.

Yelp
Rusty bull is so much fun! I met so many dope people just hangin out in the brewery area! I love that it is attached to axe throwing! They offer a $12 deal special where you get wings and a beer! I tried the livin' easy and it was so delicious! I had 2! They also have wine for non beer drinkers. The service was awesome and they will bring your food over to your axe throwing session! The place has a dope vibe and everyone is very friendly. Great place to check out and it wasn't very crowded during the week!
google avatar

Naomi K.

Yelp
Shares parking lot with jazz center, tailoring shop and ax throwing so it can get a little full. There's a gravel lot around the back and you can use the back door to get in. Staff is friendly and beer is tasty. The tumbljng monk porter was pretty tasty. The also had take home beers so we grabbed a four pack and tried a number of other ales. Nice open seating with the tanks in the back. Big ceiling fans kept the air nicely circulating. Stage for band/karaoke nights. Little gift shop corner for swag. Good was decent, those the fried chicken is a bit spicy in the batter but tasty. We tried the quesadilla and burger too with fries, tater tots and potato salad.
google avatar

Yelp
Been here a couple times and they never disappoint! Taco Tuesday brings me in usually for their solid deal of two tacos and a beer for $8! This is a steal...the basic tacos are in fact my favorite and kinda your late night snack dream. The chicken is actually a crispy chicken and the beef is really well marinated. These are topped with their melted beer cheese...drooling sounds. The food truck in the back really makes the magic happen. It's flavor full food and flavorful beer, so what's not to like! Simple and good. The other thing that makes this place awesome is the sheer amount of beers and the Juice Juice is king in my book. You can even get it to go in their beer fridge where they have canned some of their most popular stuff! Last but not least their events...they have something going on here every night it seems. Karaoke on Thursday...axe-throwing all the time next door, yup you heard that right! Beer and axe throwing what could possibly go wrong!? Sign the waiver...to have a good time at Rusty Bull North Charleston!

Yelp
I visited Rusty Bull Brewery for the Ryan Griffin concert, which was a part of the Nashville Hot Country Concert series hosted by Kickin' 92.5. The concert was a great deal, because tickets were only $8 in advance ($12 at the door), which included one beer. Since the brewery hosted the concert, the atmosphere was a fairly intimate, with a small stage and seats for everyone. I'm thankful indoor live music is back in 2022, because I missed it during 2020 and 2021 when most things were outdoors and socially distanced. We had a sudden rain downpour during the concert, so I was glad to be inside. I tried two beers. The Saltwater Cerveza came with my concert ticket. It was not my favorite, but any free beer is a good beer. The Berry Stomp beer was more my style, and I would order it again. I usually go for sour beers, and while it was not a sour, I can see other sour lovers enjoying it. For food, I tried the soft pretzels, which were delicious. The appetizers offered are carb-y for soaking up the beer and very traditional- wings, pretzels, fries, tots. They also offer burgers, chicken sandwiches, and hot dogs. The prices are very fair, especially since most surrounding restaurants are chains/franchises. Rusty Bull offers a Beyond Burger for vegetarians too. The Kickin 92.5 DJs (Hunter, Kush, Jessica, and Brian) did a great job keeping the audience entertained while we waited on Ryan to perform and singing karaoke to one of the songs. The Rusty Bull staff was also wonderful. Even with a packed venue, no one had to wait long for a beer, and they kept the dishes/glasses cleared from the tables. The brewery is located just behind Chucktown Axe Throwing, so if you're throwing axes, you can order food and drinks from here.

Yelp
This place has awesome brunch events, good beer and a nice low key atmosphere. The food isn't anything to write home about, the brunch entrees didn't come with sides which I thought was weird. Definitely check out their events.

Yelp
We came to Rusty Bull for the Hailey Whitters concert last Tuesday. We arrived about an hour early and most tables were already taken. We got a high top next to the freezer which ended up being the best seat in the house. Why, you ask? Because it was packed and hot and every time they opened that freezer to get more beer out, we reaped the benefits of all that cold air. It also gave us the chance to interact with so many employees and everyone was SO nice and personable. Since we arrived early, we ordered food. It came out really fast. The fries I ate were really good. My husband enjoyed his burger and said it was piping hot. The concert ticket $8 plus fees online so a little over $10 (or $12 at the door) comes with a free beer which was pretty cool. The concert was in coordination with 92.5 Kickin Country and they have at least one more coming up in August. I'm not sure if it's a summer only thing, but would be cool to do year round to showcase up and coming artists. We had a great time and I would definitely come back to hang out or to see another artist play!
google avatar

Lisa M.

Yelp
Enjoyed the beer flight and the food was really good. The only issue was a super long wait time for our burger and chicken sandwich. We weren't sure if we were forgotten (it wasn't very busy when we arrived). Overall great experience and food.
google avatar

Kecia M.

Yelp
Love this place. Also have a second location in Charleston. Great selection of brews. Dark porters/stouts for me. Hoppy ipas for hubby. Have a kitchen in house too! Yay. Plenty of seating inside/outside. Free parking. Nice folks (owner and staff). Definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Great atmosphere for Craft brewery people are friendly employees are friendly foods very decent for craft brewery. One of my favorite pit stops before getting on a plane
google avatar

Nicole A.

Yelp
Solid 3.5- ambience is fun and if you're staying at the hotel across the street it's a great stop here! Very KID- friendly. Fun area for adults as well, because there is hammer throws. Beer is tasty and fresh. Food wasn't great. But for a quick pit stop with kids, quesadillas and ball throws were fun
google avatar

Andrew B.

Yelp
The beer and service is great!! The food is fine, nothing to write home about, but definitely passable, especially in a brewery. Ordered the hot honey chicken and pretzel (would probably try something instead of the pretzel). Enjoyed the Black Drum brew! The bartender was super helpful and friendly giving me the last hat off of their rack - cool merch collection available. Very relaxed atmosphere. Great spot before walking over to the Stingrays game!
google avatar

Blaine P.

Yelp
Went there fore the fist time to have a few beers and some apps. Pretty cool vibe in the place and you can walk right in to the axe throwing joint as well. The staff was great. The food was pretty good and there was a great selection of beers. They REALLY appreciate the military with a 20% discount! Thank you!!

Matthew B.

Yelp
Food is so good! The variety of beers are awesome too. This place is lowkey and a great place to have a beer with a friend and not go deaf!
google avatar

Alisa W.

Yelp
Beers were just average with a very small selection. Service felt slow unless you were a local or regular patron. Tables were sticky & bathroom was dirty. Not the cleanest place, but great location in town next to all the shops & restaurants to pop in for a beer.

Carrie W.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Lots of games, both inside and out, for adults and older kids to play. Ax throwing in the back.
google avatar

Concetta D.

Yelp
In search a good rainy day activity in Charleston we stumbled upon an axe throwing location that was attached to a brewery that served food. What a win! While we initially came for the axe throwing, we stayed for the food and drink! I was with a group and we all got sandwiches, all delicious! I got the hot honey chicken sandwich and it was amazing! The chicken was super tender and just spicy enough to pair with a cold beer. Their is a wild variety of beers on tap so every beer drinker can find something to meet their needs. They also offer daily food and beer specials. I believe the special that night was a hot dog and a beer for $5. It rotates daily. My one con is that it was super warm inside. They have indoor/outdoor seating with a garage door but due to the rain it wasn't open at the time making it pretty warm inside. Im assuming there is no AC? We made due but just something to think about. Overall would recommend if you are in the area looking for a fun night out with a group!
google avatar

Wanda G.

Yelp
Chicken tenders were fresh and perfect temperature. Fries were perfectly seasoned. Service was quick even though the place was packed for a concert. I like the vibe with the beer vats. We had the perfect seats right next to the cooler so we got a cool breeze every time one of the servers went into the cooler.

Yelp
Unfortunately this is the third time I've gone here where it's slow and starts off well, meaning customer service is friendly, we get our drinks and food in a timely manner, but then as soon as more people start arriving, it all goes downhill. We waited 45 minutes for our soft pretzel this last time we went and when we got it, it wasn't even warm. It tasted like it had been sitting out, even though they kept telling us it hadn't come out yet. Also something about a brewery running out of glasses and using plastic cups when it's only an hour after opening... and again, the customer service. I get it, you only have two people and it's Memorial Day weekend and suddenly the brewery is filling up more, but it wasn't overly crowded and the rudeness and snapping at customers was unnecessary. The beer is good though, can't deny that! Just wish they would work out all the other parts, because I've been here three times in the last two years and always get the same experience. This was my last try!
google avatar

Sydney B.

Yelp
Fun big wide open spot. Definitely need more female friendly drinks like spiked kombucha or cider. There's 12 beers and the one cider and that flavor is blood orange?! Hard pass. Good open space and food is an option. Went during trivia night and wing night special. Parking lot big and easy parking. Indoor and outdoor seating. Also a big bar for seating and hooks for purses which is great being a woman at a bar. Two TVs to watch the games. Very friendly bar staff. All ages welcome and lots of couples or guys nights happening. #bergerknowsbest
google avatar

Kyle M.

Yelp
All the beers I tried were really good. The service was great, they asked me what I wanted as soon as I walked in and had my choice out in seconds. They gave me samples of their beers too. I thought the ambiance and vibe was pretty cool and the music went well to match it. I went back a few weeks later on a weeknight and it was still good. Different vibe but still good. They had trivia and it was fun.
google avatar

Jane R.

Yelp
Great beer! Great food! Great service! A no brainer to eat and drink here. Fun vibe with NFL Redzone on. Had a flight of 3 delicious dark beers and hazy IPA. Put this brewery on your must visit when in the North. Charleston area.
google avatar

Cissy W.

Yelp
Recently in Charleston and stopped here for a beer and trivia. Seems like a very fun place! Good crowd, nice service. But I had the Railroad and found it very unremarkable. Husband's beer was also just fine. Fun spot, okay beers.

Stephany H.

Yelp
The staff was friendly and very helpful at recommending their various brews. My daughter and I tried the two chicken sandwiches. Both were the BEST we have ever had!!! Wingo Bingo night was great fun for the family!!! Clean and welcoming.
google avatar

Shawna C.

Yelp
Woo hoo now these were smooth full flavored beers . We are pimento and cheese and fried green tomato snobs and this order was on the top of our list for perfection! You can't beat directly across the street from 3 hotels and awesome beer service atmosphere with a side of some of the best fried green tomatoes
google avatar

Dre V.

Yelp
The Rusty Bull was the first eatery/brewery during a brief visit to Charleston. It was an awesome way to be welcomed to the city. The vibe was laid back, I enjoyed the 90s alternative rock soundtrack a ton. The bartenders were SUPER chill and kind, I appreciated the fact that they they were patient while we picked our flight tastings. We really enjoyed the beers for the most part! Although I will say that their hazy IPA disappointed me a bit. The food was super tasty. My chicken sandwich at first glance seemed plain but it was awesomely flavorful. That batter recipe is fire! My boyfriend had the beef patty melt... I couldn't stop staring at it and was very jealous I didn't have something cheesy while he ate it hahaha. It was just as tasty as it looked, the caramelized onions really were the cherry on top. There is a big, free parking lot, and limited outdoor seating. There is also an axe/throwing place connected to the brewery, pretty cool!
google avatar

Jasmine K.

Yelp
I've waited a long time to try this place, and it was worth the wait. The beer was good and I only needed one. The boiled peanuts were the best I've had at a restaurant in Charleston, and a great snack while you drink. Now being honest the hotdog was not my favorite, I really should have ordered a plain hotdog. The chili did not sit well with my tummy. My husband had the burger & all he left was the wrapper . I guess that speaks volumes on how good it was. All in all it was a great lunch stop, yet the next time we go will be during a special event they have. Plus we have to try to axe throwing I heard good things since we tried it.
google avatar

Nina A.

Yelp
It was a nice bar, music, and atmosphere. however, I could never get the attention of the bartenders, the regulars sitting next to me had to get their attention for me. It's really sad actually, because I had been traveling across country since 3 am and my bags got lost and I was waiting for them to arrive at 11pm at baggage claim. I just needed a nice unstressed evening, and I was mostly ignored. That's too bad because I usually tip 50% of my tab, but because of not being a regular I got shot service. Trust me I know I look like shit at 11pm after traveling since 3 am. Don't judge a book by its cover. New people need attention too. You never know what someone is going through, you should always be kind. Not here.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Great food and a fun atmosphere not to mention live entertainment. Pretty much something for everybody and did I mention the beer is amazing.
google avatar

Christine C.

Yelp
What a great find! Everything that you would want in a craft brewery, live music, great patio, extensive seating inside and right next to an axe throwing place! While we did not partake in the axe throwing (I did notice they did let them drink while throwing, c'mon NV, get on this!), we did enjoy that it was one business down from our hotel. We were able to get a full day of sightseeing in and then drop the teens off at the hotel and enjoy a wide selection of their beers. Would not hesitate to visit this brewery again!
google avatar

Maya D.

Yelp
Great place to get a beer in North Charleston! Their cider is also delicious. Lots of games you can play and live music on the weekends!
google avatar

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
We loved our time at Rusty Bull. I thought the draft beer was ok. Nothing spectacular but im a bit particular with my beers (really only like sours to be honest). Everyone was incredibly kind. There were games to play which kept us occupied but I wish they had more! The food was decent. The pimento green tomatoes are what I would go back for. Its attached to an axe throwing gym which you can access though the bar. We went on a night with live music which was also enjoyable.
google avatar

Madison R.

Yelp
Awesome spot! Indoor & outdoor seating. So comfy and cozy. Such a relaxed environment that truly makes you feel "at home". Great beer & wine selections. Super friendly staff, & axe throwing next door. We love visiting Rusty Bull and always make a point to stop by when in the area. I highly recommend swinging by. Maybe even play a round of axe throwing while enjoying your drink of choice!
