We had an amazing experience at Rusty Jimmies! The staff were incredibly attentive, and the owner was so passionate, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. The food was absolutely spectacular, and the prices were unbelievably reasonable! We came as a party of 8 and loved every moment. The owner truly cares about making sure everyone has a great time. Top-notch service and food—honestly the best I’ve had in the area. Plus, it’s BYOB, which is such a bonus! Highly recommend.

Best place to get crabs in Fenwick , Delaware. Family friendly, BYOB (BYOB is a rare find at the beach!!!!) clean , owner gives each customer personal attention to make sure they are enjoying themselves and the food. Menu offers a great selection of other food options , if picking crabs isn’t your thing… While there, saw a family enjoying themselves, laughing, making memories, and just having a good time!! You gotta check out Rusty Jimmies!

Delicious fresh crab! My first crab feast and it was definitely a success. It was seasoned well and the meat inside was delicious. We also got some Mac and cheese, fries, and hush puppies which were also all very good, especially the hush puppies. Our waiter was very friendly and checked in on us periodically. It is BYOB so we brought some wine, but they offer water and soda options.

Excellent crabs, crab cake, fried oysters. The owner catches the crabs and is a great guy. Homey, old school Maryland crab house. Highly recommend!

Best food I've had on the shore outside of Chincoteague. This place is down home, no frills decor. Love that the walls are papered with kids coloring pages. Nicest folks you could ever meet. Love it!!

We were looking for crab in Ocean City/Fenwick, like you do, and came across Rusty Jimmies. This is not “fine dining” as all the items we ordered (including the vegetables) were either fried or battered…but it was tasty all the same. Both the Soft Crab Trio and the Scallop Imperial (topped with crab) were very good! The owner, who doubled as our server, was friendly and helpful. The food came out quickly as well. You can tell the establishment appreciates its customers by all of the kids’ colored pages posted on the walls. It had a nice atmosphere. We would definitely go back here and recommend it to anyone in the area.

We are visiting the beach for the week for our family vacation and my wife was craving crabs. Crab prices right now are ridiculous so we were resigned to the fact that we were going to skip getting them this year. I spotted Rusty Jimmies while stopping at Sunsations next door so I popped over to see what their prices were like and let me tell you they have the best prices of anywhere around! The owner was super friendly and so was the staff. We got a dozen larges and every single crab was cooked perfectly, packed full of meat and perfectly seasoned. What's more, the owner stopped by the table and noticed that a female crab snuck in our batch (I hadn't even seen it yet) and he brought us 2 extra crabs without being asked and free of charge. Superb service and excellent food! We will 100% be back and will he recommend this restaurant from now on for great blue crabs

Best soft shell colossal lump crabmeat imperial ever! Owner was super friendly and very accommodating. Going back soon for sone more of that great food and service!

My husband and I ate here for the first time and loved it!! The owner came out and talked to us. Our meal was worth the price and made fresh. Our waitress was so nice and down to earth. The soft shell crab sandwich was to die for and the crab cakes were phenomenal, best dinner we ever had close to ocean city!! The staff were so nice and accommodating and the entire restaurant was decorated with pictures of crab by kids and made it feel homey!! The aroma coming from this place was scrumptious!!

We loved our experience at Rusty Jimmies! We were served by Captain Chris, who was super friendly and accommodating, and everything was delicious and unpretentious. We got a crab cake, jumbo shrimp, and scallops - all our seafood was fresh and delicious. We will definitely be back, and cannot recommend enough!

Rusty Jimmies!! The quality of the crabs were spot on. I ordered 1/2 dozen and we got a few extra on the house of the medium/large for dinner (dine-in) and they were heavy crabs. There's smaller and much larger sizes. Medium/large are just right for me. Captain Chris served us. Caught the crabs earlier that morning.Fresh. Sweet meat. Even explained about how to tell which crabs are mature, heavy, and worth serving. Very selective and focused on quality. This is exactly what we were looking for. Prices were reasonable too. Restaurant opens at 5 pm for dinner. Worth the wait because these crabs are delish! I actually came back the next day and ordered a dozen to take home. So nice, they threw in extra crabs for us. The restaurant is run by his family. Mom bakes the cornbread and banana bread. Call ahead. Her breads sell out. It's little dine-in brown paper on the tables crab restaurant. Very family friendly. In fact, the walls are lined with crab pictures kids and patrons colored. You can even buy t-shirts there. They've been around for at least 10 years. We stumbled upon this place thru google search because the crab place we used to go to went out of business. I wish I knew about this place sooner. Excellent experience, friendly host, and the best crabs.

Came here based on the Yelp ratings. It's certainly not a 5 star place. The Good. The service was good and Chris worked hard to please all the tables in the restaurant. The crab cake was good. We didn't order the all you can eat blue claw crabs but folks served this meal really seemed to enjoy their meal as they hammered away. A big plus is that the restaurant is a BYOB. The bad. The fried shrimp was terrible. I'm guessing it was over cooked and the shrimp became tough. The hush puppies were also overly fried. Read past all the overly cheery 5 star reviews by people who have only 1 review and you will get a good prospective of the restaurant.

Nothing special about this place but the crabs were delicious. No alcohol served but you can bring your own bottle. They do offer soda and lemonade. Get there early and expect at least 30 min wait for food delivery, they cook to order.

Wow! On vacation here and Rusty Jimmies did not disappoint. Captain Chris was in the house and was super friendly. The crab cakes and fried sampler platter were on point. The crab dip appetizer should not be missed!

Another year, another fantastic dinner experience with Captain Chris. This year we ordered for take out, and the food was again...PHENOMENAL! The peel and eat shrimp were cooked to perfection. We added in some extras, and so did Chris, and we were on our way!

We come here every summer for the delicious, fresh crabs caught by Jimmy himself every morning. This time around we called ahead of time for 2 dozen medium large crabs. 30 min after we arrived, the confused waitress told us they only had 1 dozen m/l left, then the manager (Jimmy) told us they did have 2. Finally an hour later we got 2 dozen mediums. After our meal, Jimmy came to check on us and was very apologetic; we got our sides comped and a few extra crabs. Meal was still great and will come again!

I don't think I have ever left a review for a restaurant before but Rusty Jimmies was so good I wanted to make sure others knew as well. It was some of the best crabs I have ever had if not the best. I have had plenty of crabs from different popular places in Maryland and Rusty Jimmies in my opinion was the best I've ever had. Their soft shell were also amazing and everything tasted incredibly fresh. Can't recommend enough and the owner was incredibly kind and friendly to us. He explained to us the difference between the crabs we had, best crab picking experience I've had. Must try if you're a crab picker.

I have never had a bad meal! Rusty Jimmies is our favorite must-visit restaurant when we come to Ocean City. It is family-friendly and has a warm atmosphere. We always feel welcome, and the food is fantastic. Tonight, we had steamed crabs, hush puppies, fried oysters, fish, and steamed shrimp. I can't say enough about how delicious everything was!

We had a great experience here for dinner with our large group! They were very accomodating and friendly. The food was realllly tasty. I would definitely come back next time I'm in Fenwick Island. Remember it's BYOB if you want alcohol!

Ratings on here are surprising. I imagine being BYOB with a place where you can buy it right across the street is worthy of an extra star or so (and I've rounded up for that), but I can't imagine calling RJ's a 5 given what else is available. Food was OK at best, venue was rundown and in need of an update and cleaning in many different areas, service seemed slow (though very pleasant), they were out of several items and nearly out of crab too, it's on a very busy road with no view, the crab chowder was terrible and seemed likely to be canned with crab thrown in it, crabs themselves were overdone, and the pricing overall didn't seem as good as some other places.

Serious crab shack. Large Steamed crabs were tasty and meaty. Hush puppies were good. Coleslaw was fresh. Shrimp tacos were good. We will come again before we leave Fenwick! Captain Chris served us today.

I really appreciated how genuine these people. Service was perfect. Went through a ton of places and this place has the most value that you could possibly find anywhere. Sides were amazing (hush puppies). Steamed crabs were also incredible. Highly recommend this place for anyone deciding which place to pick.

Food was excellent. We didn't have to wait. Scallops were huge and excellent. We also had crab cakes. They gave us free cornbread and muffins. Yum. Downs: parking lot is small. The bathroom is gross. They do not sell beer or alcohol.

I was in OCMD, but close to Fenwick island so we expanded our search. We've been to Hoopers, we've been to Higgins. This is our new place. We were with family and the adults were looking for a solid AUCE crab place. This will forever be our go-to. We have never been to Rusty Jimmies but I can tell you we will forever recommend the place. Captain Chris is the real deal. His mom bakes the breads. The sides are totally fine but we're here for the crabs. They did NOT disappoint. Best money spent. And it's BYOB so that's even better!

If you're looking for a fancy place, go elsewhere. If you're looking for delicious, fresh seafood, this is your place. And if you're very lucky, Captain Chris will serve you. My husband and I shared a dozen raw oysters, two incredible, big crab cakes, rockfish tacos, coleslaw, cornbread, and a blueberry muffin. All were great. To top it off, Rusty Jimmies is BYO, so you can have a delicious seafood meal, bring your own beer, wine or cocktails, for a very reasonable price!

This eatery was so amazing! We bought some cold beer across the street & were warmly greeted by Captain Chris & his staff! The recommended Chef special of crab imperial, hush puppies & coleslaw were so delicious & amazing! Take time to check them out- you won't be disappointed!

A hole in the wall place but we were blown away by their jumbo shrimp and scallops. Seriously, the shrimp were the best we have ever had! We ordered our food to-go and the staff was super friendly and even sent us home with paper to cover our table and a wooden hammer to help with the crabs we got. They even gave us a few extra crabs so we were super happy. Would definitely go here again for takeout!

End of season trip to Ocean City for Country Calling Music festival and some time in Assateague. My wife and I travel a lot. Up and down the coast and across the country. We love food, hole in the wall classic local fare is what we search out. My wife will typically stop a police officer or fireman and ask where to eat. We always search for the off the beaten path recommendation. We arrived into town starving and not wanting to search out the local law enforcements advice, went to Yelp as we frequently do, but rarely write reviews. This seemed to fit our type of place. Reviews were mostly positive and described what we were looking for. *for reference, we did not mention any of our issues to the kitchen/staff/waiter. We ate what we could, paid and left. I know that it's better to iron out in person, and was going to let it go, but after rereading some of the reviews after the fact... felt it best to get my opinion out to the Yelp world. We walked in just after opening to an empty restaurant. Greeted by a friendly owner/server Chris, where we had our choice of seats. Plastic HD split folding tables covered with heavy paper it was headed down the right direction. This was the last part of our experience that was what we were looking for. We ordered drinks (can of coke and a lemonade) and an appetizer (Bacon wrapped scallops). The $15 for 3 medium overcooked and dried out fried scallops dusted with Old Bay, presented on a small plate, stand alone, no presentation, wouldn't have been such an issue had they not been so over cooked (fried and dried) that the bacon crumbled off when you pulled out the toothpick and were extremely grainy, hard to eat. We had to ask for cocktail sauce, They could have been fresh scallops, but no one would have ever known as every bit of fresh was cooked out of them. Cocktail sauce and lemon were a must. My wife ordered the seafood sampler. A few scallops (4), fried shrimp (6-small) and 2 small crabs, ($$) The shrimp and scallops again were dry, overcooked and smaller than would be anticipated for the price, the crabs were also fried in most likely old dirty oil and heavily dusted in Old Bay. Leaving anything and everything to be desired. I ordered the fried shrimp ($$). I was served and charged the shrimp imperial ($$$). The shrimp (6) were a bit larger than my wife's, I wouldn't classify them as Jumbo by any means. They were slapped on an empty plate, and simply buried in crab imperial. I'm glad there was the kitchen mistake as the imperial was needed to make the dry, rubbery overcooked shrimp edible. The Mac and cheese side was watery and tasteless. Mom's cornbread had good taste, but needed water to help get it down it was so dry. No butter was offered or on the table. Our meal was over $100 with tip. I read and reread the reviews, I've eaten their food. My opinion is that this is frequently misrepresented with a 5* (4.3 star overall rating). I mean no ill will towards anyone running their business, It may have been the end of the season, it may have been a bad night, but the 1-2 star reviews posted are closer to the experience I had than that of the 5 star reviews that lead me to dine here. I do not venture to Ocean City Maryland very often, however, I will not be rushing back to Rusty Jimmies if I do.

Great little place! We went for crabs and were not disappointed. The owner was very friendly and genuine. Was telling us which seafood was caught locally. He gave the children drawings to color and post on the wall, which they enjoyed.

Such an absolutely fantastic place to get all you can eat crabs! It's BYOB so you can bring your drink of choice and enjoy without the hefty drink cost. The crabs were fat and heavy! Much better crabs than any other AUCE in the area!!! Chris the owner is so awesome and you will get the best service as well!! We have been here twice for the delicious crabs and we will be back again next year!

We came for crab cakes and coleslaw for lunch. Both were excellent!!!! The person who waited on us was friendly and good. It is BYOB but that was fine with us. This is worth checking out.

Me and my boyfriend stopped in for osyters before hitting the road. The raw and fried oysters were 10/10. The service was great and the food came out pretty quick. I'm really surprised this place wasn't packed out for Sunday lunch. I would definitely recommend stopping in!

This little hole in the wall spot is the perfect spot to get your beach seafood dining fix! We started off with a half pound of spicy steamed shrimp. Then we put away a dozen large crabs. The crabs and shrimp were excellent. Service was awesome as well. Attentive and cheerful. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Undercover spot that not to many people know about... BUT THEY SHOULD. Food is fresh and incredible, service is fantastic. Went with family and will definitely be back. Make sure to BYOB - which is actually the cheaper/better option when at the beach. I brought Jack daniels, the best pairing with this fabulous food. Will be coming every time i'm in OC MD

Very good crabs at reasonable price. I have tried them twice. Jimmy is very nice. Had to wait both times to pick-up order, 15-30 minutes later than scheduled.

This is a hard one to rate because things did not go very well at first, but the staff was very nice and did everything they could to make it right. Things were going wrong for them all day, trouble with steamers... anyway, the biggest complaint I have is that with the AYCE crabs they included females without telling us. I think that is an important factor with Marylanders anyway. I think you should be told that up front and or offered male only or female only if that's what you'd prefer.

Awful! Crabs were tiny, cold, and not even seasoned. I'm pretty sure they were reheated. Do not recommend.

A real gem -- unpretentious little spot serving the best crab cakes we've ever had - freshly caught lump crab, no filler, well seasoned and bound with a bit of lobster. Steamed shrimp were also excellent quality - huge and fresh. Service was warm, welcoming and attentive. Thank you, Chris - we will be back to try more of your seafood!

This place is a hidden gem! We found Rusty Jimmies staying in North OC and comparing crab prices. Theirs were the best so we tried them a couple years ago. They've given us consistently big, heavy crabs - always thrown a few extra in the bag. They're serious about crabs and fun and upbeat to deal with. Best crabs in OC for my money, great folks and we'll be back again and again!

Excellent food! My family and I ordered Rusty Jimmie steamed crabs, crab cakes, corn and hush puppies. The owner/manager/fisherman was so personable. He informed us all about the crabs. So grateful for the experience. Cannot beat the price. It's not fancy inside but they make you feel at home.

First I have to say that this is a very dumpy place, but that never stops me in trying to find a good place to eat.... The waitress was very nice and helpful , and my wife and I sat outside on the best of the tables that were falling apart. My wife ordered the Rusty Jimmies House Special and I ordered the Fried Oysters...Well the Special is soft shell crab topped with "Crab Imperial" , the crab itself was a little better than awful, but the Imperial part was one of the worst tasting things that I have ever had at a restaurant.... The fried Oysters were ok, but probably the worst I have had in this area..... Overall I have to say that I probably will not be venturing back....

Best crab dip we've had, bacon wrapped scallops and fresh tuna were also excellent! Cool little spot with food cooked to order. We'll be back for sure.

Friendly service! Got the all you can eat, small but fat, hot crabs. Very accommodating to my wife, who can't eat seafood. Plan to go again soon!

I came here with a large group on recent trip to the beach. We called ahead for a reservation and we're sat at a few long picnic tables that'd been pushed together. Perfect for messy crab eating! We ordered a few sides and liked the hush puppies and crinkle cut fries but felt other sides needed just a little something more to take them over the edge, like some more salt and seasoning for the Mac and cheese. The crabs were fantastic-well-steamed with plenty of meat on them, and service was friendly, prompt, and constant even for a group of over 20. We spoke with the owner who was incredibly knowledgeable about the crabs in the area and explained the origins of the Rusty Jimmies name.
