Ruth's Chris Steak House

My husband and I decided to celebrate our 3rd anniversary here. This place is special to us—we first came 3 years ago, the day he proposed back in December 2021. The service was excellent, and the staff, including our waitress and her team, took great care of us. The food overall was good. I wasn’t a fan of the Brussels sprouts or the cucumber-style mocktail, and the lobster bisque could’ve used a bit more cream. But the steak, mashed potatoes, and sweet potato casserole were absolutely delicious. I’d definitely come back again and recommend this place to family and friends.

My husband and I visited for restaurant week and had an amazing experience as first time guests. We were greeted warmly in the lobby and seated promptly for our 6:15 pm reservation. Our main server was Elise and she was very nice and attentive to our needs. All of our courses were brought out promptly and the steak and crab cakes were brought out sizzling hot. We had mashed potatoes and creamed spinach for our sides and the sides are actually big enough to share. This was the best crab cake I have had in years, and I definitely look forward to coming back for date nights or special occasions. Some restaurants are skimpy on service and food for restaurant week, but Ruth’s Chris provided exceptional service from start to finish.

Always our favorite steakhouse! This time was no exception. Celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, our server Dominique gave us exceptional service, even brought red rose petals to scatter on our table. Everything from the Lobster Bisque, to the Ribeye (PERFECTLY cooked) to the crème brûlée made our special night perfect!! Well done Ruth’s Chris, well done!

Have spent, with the exception of last year, Thanksgiving at Ruth’s Chris for the last 5 or six years. Last year made reservations elsewhere because I was concerned about Darden’s acquiring Ruth’s Chris that quality would suffer. We always enjoyed the meal, however this year it seemed a bit bland. For the price, I expected the quality to be better. The stuffing had no taste. The turkey breast slices were more like planks. They were about 1/2 -3/4 inch thick . The presentation lacked. And the desserts were far from what I remember. I can’t say enough about the wait staff. The service was the only thing that I was really impressed with. I am accustomed to securing reservations with a credit card and the $25 per setting guarantee is more than reasonable. We were there at 1:00 and expected it to be busier, but it was far from capacity. It lacked that festive atmosphere that we were accustomed to. In the end, the food was edible. The service was great. Will probably explore other options for next year.

Recently had a wonderful meal with fabulous service to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Upon making the dinner reservation, I was offered an upgrade option to book their wine room to provide a more private dining experience. I am so glad that we did- as it elevated our date night even more than expected and provided a romantic ambiance for just the two of us. Roger, our main server that evening, was fantastic and provided excellent service and ensured everything was to our liking throughout the whole evening for our special occassion. Dinner was delicious and they even gave us a thoughtful dessert surprise. Every team member that checked in actually, was so friendly- right down from the hostess to the valet- all provided five star service! It seemed everyone really cared to make sure we had a wonderful date night! I have already shared our great experience with several people that are already interested in booking the wine room and I know we will be back again for sure!

Crab cakes were the best of the many appetizers and entrees we had. Service was good, everyone was polite, friendly and helpful. Although I wouldn’t say the service was exceptional, it is worth noting that our server took the time and special care to package and prepare our to go boxes with love which was greatly appreciated. It is also worth mentioning that Management stopped and ask how our meal and evening went. On a humorous note I must say the bite size cheesecake that comes with the pre fixed TG menu was so small we all had a good laugh All in all we had a good time and we will recommend Ruth Chris for future holiday dinners.

We had an absolutely incredible Thanksgiving dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. Everything was beyond delicious — from start to finish, every dish was rich, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Our server was truly exceptional: warm, attentive, and on point with impeccable timing. The entire evening ran so smoothly and felt wonderfully seamless. And the ambiance? Absolutely perfect — elegant, cozy, and festive without being overwhelming. A truly memorable holiday dinner. Highly recommend!

Great server and loved the food. General Manager stopped by twice to ensure that we were having a great experience. Took wife for 21st Anniversary and Thanksgiving. Very enjoyable.

We had a great experienc. Food was fantastic and our servers Joe did an amazing job. We have been in Charlotte for a few days and he's by far the best server we have had.

Don't misunderstand me here- I'm a Halls Chophouse girl, but Ruth's Chris in Charlotte did a great job. Our server was friendly and kept coming back to check on us. My steak was cooked perfectly and so much flavor. The shoestring fries and so thin and crunchy. Loved the Brussel Sprouts with bacon too. The rating would easily have been 3 stars but unfortunately for a $400 bill for 2 people this really was a mediocre experience at best for that amount of money. Arriving just a few minutes early for a Wednesday evening dinner reservation and there were no valet parking attendants. No problem, we waited patiently in the car for 5 min before my wife went inside to inquire about valet parking. Was told to wait and someone will be right out. Waited another 5 min and they instructed it would be best to self park. No problem, found parking nearby and walked back to restaurant. Host's greeting was blasé and overall not very enthusiastic or slightly apologetic about the lack of valet parking attendants. Seated at a table right by the kitchen opening, even though the room was mostly empty and there were better tables available that didn't have as much kitchen noise. Cocktails were fantastic, absolutely no fault whatsoever in bartender(s) skill and generosity of kick in both drinks. Short rib ravioli delicious, easily could have been main course worthy appetizer. Mozzarella and tomato salad was however a bit unevenly tomato weighted over cheese, but hey, it's an appetizer so not the end of the world. French onion soup was disappointing: overloaded with greasy cheese and didn't have the satisfactory baked edges, breading or onion flavor to balance the taste. Main course steaks were a bit over salted but cooked to the correct temperature and were fine for a steakhouse. Here is where I should have made a compliant right there and then. The Mac & Cheese was overcooked and hard as rocks. Absolutely unacceptable. Broccoli was acceptable but not at all worthy of being associated with fine dining. Service was fine overall, although because the table was so small, plates with no silverware on them were removed without asking if we had finished eating what was left on them. One decor related item was the presence of a broken and bizarrely gas station grade soap dispensers in the men's bathroom. More appropriate in a neighborhood dive bar or pizza place than a steakhouse that charges as much as this location does. I'm sure we just went on an off night, but then again we could easily get a much nicer and positively memorable dining experience in half a dozen fine dining restaurants in the city for less than $400.

Great dining. The staff was friendly. Decor was nice, typical Ruth's Chris. The food was good. Service was very slow! I was disappointed in the service. It was my daughter and son-in-law's first time here and I was disappointed. If I'm spending Ruth's Chris money I want the service I've grown to love. Disappointment #1: Our first table water kept dropping on our heads from the air conditioner unit so we asked to be moved. Disappointment #2: Our water never asked if we wanted anymore drink after our mocktails were completed nor did he refresh our water or offer coffee with desert. Disappointment #3: Our waiter was pretty much a stranger unless food was being delivered. Disappointment #4: Not once did he use the crumber to clean our table before each course or after. It needed it too. Disappointment #5: The lobster bisque was luke warm. If I'm paying over $500 for a meal I want over $500 level service. Charlotte Ruth's Chris, you must do better.

Love! Went here for a birthday dinner. Each dish came out so hot. Steak flavor was amazing. Ever had a steak cooked on a flat grill with no flavor? Not here! I love longhorn's ribeye so I got a ribeye here. I think my husband got a bone-in NY strip. We ordered the au gratin potatoes and sprouts for our sides (served fam style). We also had the crabcakes as an appetizer. The bread is good - hot and soft. We had a small carrot cake for dessert. The service was excellent. Perfect date night place.

It was pretty good all around the food was fresh the staff was extremely polite we stayed in there an hour after they had already closed..

We came for Restaurant Week to experience the 3-course meal option. The food was great. I noticed other guests where asked if they wanted their coats hung up, while we were not asked. We sat at a booth with our coats stuffed in the seats, unknowing this option was available since this was the first time visiting. Our server Dom seemed like a sincerely nice guy and wants to make sure you feel welcome. However, he was a bit too much at times with the excessive checking back even interrupting a convo to ask if everything is okay. That would've been fine if he didn't just ask 2 minutes ago, and we only had drinks so there wasn't anything to really check on at that point lol. Then after all the checking he did, the order came out incorrect. We ordered the stuff chicken, steak and shrimp. We were served 2 stuff chicken orders and steak with no shrimp. The error was quickly resolved, but I would think it wouldn't be an issue after all the confirmations he received. He also proceeded to want to read the entire menu to us when I said that wasn't necessary since we already knew what we wanted. Again, very nice guy, but I think he could tone it down a touch or two. Overall, it was a nice meal and I would come again.

The last time I was at Ruth Chris was over 20 years ago in Los Angeles. I had an opportunity to go and celebrate a colleagues 30 year retirement dinner at her favorite restaurant. The waiter was very thorough and gave me the exact options I needed to hear for my meal. I had the lettuce wedge salad and it was ok. This specific salad had more of a creamy blue cheese dressing than the actual crumble blue cheese in it. It was lacking a lot of the flavor I was hoping to enjoy. For my main course I ordered the ribeye medium plus 1 and it was grilled perfectly with a loaded baked potato as my side dish. I really enjoyed my steak. For dessert I had the crème brûlée, which is my favorite dessert. It was ok, I've had better in the past and was slightly disappointed considering the establishment we were at. If you are looking for a great steak please visit Ruth Chris.

This RC location is just as good if not better than all the other locations. The Yelp average of 3.9 is too low. We did not research the other reviews yet to see why they did not 5 star this property, but our experience was 5 star. We got the petite filet and ribeye and shared along with the steamed broccoli and mushroom sides. This is a high end steak house so each item is a la cart. We recommend no more than medium for each steak item. All of the dishes were excellent as at other RC locations. All RC service has been good in the past, but we really appreciated our server Joseph. He was very kind, had a good but not intrusive sense of humor, and was efficient in all his waiter duties. The hostess and the lady who was the "busboy/busperson" were also very nice at this location. At around 6:15 on a holiday Monday they were not very busy, not loud at all, and seated us early for our 6:45 reservation. We did not get appetizers, soup/salad, or dessert on this visit, but we have had these in the past and they are all very good. We particularly like their mushroom appetizer and when they have it, any chocolate dessert item. There are many excellent steak house chains and local restaurants in Charlotte, NY and RC is among them and worth a visit. Just be sure to dress business casual or nicer as the website and their door warn and make a reservation to be sure to be seated promptly in case they are busy.

Absolutely Delicious filet mignon and shrimp seasoned & cooked to perfection! The server was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The ambiance beautiful, classy yet very calming. Loved this location!

I want to do a huge shoutout to our server Dom, from the start he was so welcoming and attentive. He made this whole experience so special for my Bf and I, If anyone is considering going to Ruth's Chris Steak House, ask for Dom, you wont regret having such a passoniate server who enjoys what he does.

When ever I visit Charlotte, I have dinner at this location. The food, service and sanitation score is always on point (97.5).

My wife and I attended the Wilmington location. It was our first and only visit. We were in Wilmington for our daughter's wedding. We wanted to get her a gift card so they could have the experience. We are working class. This was huge for us. After waiting thirty minutes for our food, we heard a crash behind us. The waiter informed us it was our food. I understand accidents happen. We were understanding. we assumed for those prices that we would be compensated in some way. We didn't even have time for dessert after we got our food. 1 filet, 1 sea bass, lobster mac and asparagus. We were there for 2.5 hrs. The waiter was nice and apologized. That was it. Not his fault. Where was management? It is a high price for an experience. They did not deliver.

Came here for an early birthday dinner, and really enjoyed it. Friendly attentive service from the front to the back of the house. Our server Joe was great. Everything ordered: steak, crab cakes, sides, cocktails were delicious and well made. Honestly, the steak was the best I've had. I look forward to returning.

Stopped in for a happy hour burger - really good deal for a quality burger. And I love the skinny fries. Service was great.

Our waiter Dom was and is amazing. We came in with a staggered group. Some that needed to leave early for flights and others just chilling and chatting. Dom took care of us and for all the orders taken, filled and had those with flights out the door in time. Thanks Dom.

Six adults and two children for Mother's Day brunch. Just a "OK "experience. Especially for the expense. Crabcakes Benedict tasted excellent, except for the potatoes which were overdone and underseasoned. Having an early reservation restaurant was not particularly busy, but everything still took forever to come out and we had to ask our server multiple times for things that should've already been on the table we felt forgotten about a few times. Beautiful looking restaurant nice ambience, but does that warrant the price tag? Not so sure.

The service was amazing as usual! Alina is a wonderful server! She is very nice, attentive, courteous and exprofessional! Simply put, she is remarkable!

We came here for our anniversary. Overall a good experience. They do not have a valet service on a Saturday night in Uptown Charlotte. I would expect a restaurant at this price point to have valet, especially located in the middle of a downtown area and on a Saturday. They also don't validate. When you check in on Yelp you are offered the Classic 3 course menu for 49.99. This location doesn't honor it. They just tell you "corporate sends it down and we're a franchise so we don't honor it". It was a nice dinner and a good experience. Food was tasty.

Ruth Chris never ceases to amaze! As usual we had our perfectly cooked steak, yummy crab cake app, and delectable sides. The best part is the amazing service. This time we had Julian V. He made the night even better just being pleasant and kind and attentive. Excited to go back another evening.

I'v been wanting to check out Ruth Chris Steak House for a while because I've heard lots of great things about them, but I must say I was disappointed! Everything is À la cart. I ordered the French onion soup and it was ok, but I probably would not order it again. My steak was awful; even after the waiter suggested a tender cut of meat the steak I ordered (a petite fillet) wasn't very tender and I ordered it to be cooked medium, but it was brought out well done.. Even though the steak was disappointing the sides were excellent! The crab cakes were good and the Lobster Mac & cheese was delightful! Also the drinks were good; the strawberry basil margarita and the blueberry mojitos were very tasty. I'm not giving up on Ruth Chris yet, I'll give them another try, then I'll update me review.

There's a first time for everything. I have eaten at Ruth Chris too many times to count over the years. I return frequently because despite being a chain, which I tend to avoid, generally speaking both the food and the service are consistently lovely. Last night was the very first time I have ever been less than 100% satisfied. Not only was I not 100% satisfied...I was not satisfied at all. We arrived to a fairly empty restaurant with a reservation for 13. Half of our party had a completely different dining experience than the other half. One table appeared to have a relatively good dining experience. My table on the other hand...did not. Starting with the service. Despite not being busy we had to ask for water, bread, drink refills, etc We poured our own wine. When salads and soups arrived they remained on the table almost the full 40 minutes between their arrival and the arrival of our main course. Finally, when the other half of our party was having their dessert menus delivered I went to the bar to ask for a manager. After another 10 minutes past, I went back to ask for the manager again. By this point, our entrées had arrived, but the manager had not stopped by to offer so much as an apology. Despite the long wait, some entrées still arrived incorrectly. At this point, I went back to the bar to ask to speak to the manager again. The manager came out and spoke to me briefly, apologized, and disappeared. The bill arrived and was paid by my business partner. The manager never came back by. The only reason I knew that we had also been charged for a $170 bottle of wine we didn't drink, was I happened to look on the itemized bill. I took the bill back inside the bartender, who took the bill to the manager. The bill was adjusted to remove the bottle of wine and included a discount (less than 20%) for our well below par experience. It was returned to me by the bartender. The manager did not even bother to come back. Worst Ruth Chris experience my life. I was shocked and really surprised it was handled so poorly. The only saving graces were the bartender who was incredibly polite and did his best to get someone to help me and the waiter for the other half of the party who apologized more sincerely and frequently than the manager or our waiter. My steak was cooked properly, but by the time it arrived I was beyond frustrated with the experience and had mostly lost my appetite. Everybody has a bad day and maybe it was just that. But when the downfalls of the evening are so frequent and very obviously the fault of the restaurant, there should not be a $1000+ bill with a discount for delayed service that the manager did not even convey herself.

Dom was an absolutely amazing server best we've ever had hands down. Pair that with the best steak I've ever eaten and we had the best meal I can remember. 150/10 recommend.

I like the ambiance vibes and the staffs superb Customer service! My stuffed chicken and sweet potato casserole was delicious and hot!! Uptown Charlotte is a good location for me to walk out and continue shopping with a big smile on my face.

We had a delicious dinner. Our filets were cooked perfectly and the seafood tower was presented well as as delicious as it looked. Dom was our server and provided exceptional service. He was attentive, kind and a pleasure. We will certainly come back.

Took 40 minutes just to order our drinks, our waiter was not even the one to put them in or bring them to our table- it was the manager. Another waiter accidentally dropped and shattered a wine glass that went all under my table. I found shards all over. My girlfriend's medium steak was more rare than anything. Our waiter was super friendly but not very knowledgeable about the menu or cuts of steak. I would never recommend going here honestly. It was a disaster for our anniversary and way over priced for the service you will recieve. The location in Wilmington is great but not the one in Charlotte off Tryon.

The worst experience I've had in quite some time. Ordered the Cowboy Ribeye and it tasted like I was eating a piece of the grille. ZERO seasoning or flavor whatsoever. Waiter never checked back until 10-15minutes into the meal instead prioritized rolling silverware over our experience. Not surprised to see the 3.9 rating at a place that used to be so good but clearly no longer is. May want to consider new management and rehire better staff. Place was a ghost town when we walked in at so maybe we should have taken the hint.

The food was good. The steak we both had was juicy and tasty. My husband sent his back as it was rare and supposed to be medium, but they fixed it and brought mashed potatoes as an apology. The service wasn't great, it was slow, the waitress was not very intuitive and didn't even give us the specials until after we ordered appetizers and asked about specials. Eek. But Danny the waitress made up for it with complimentary coffee at the end only because it took an eternity to get our chocolate cake. We didn't get any special dessert or Congrats for our celebration which was our anniversary, so a bit disappointing there, but the steak and sweet potatoes were delicious. Would not recommend using the Valet, it is free, but even when we turned our ticket in 30 min before leaving, they had a long wait of guests and told us it'd be another 30 min waiting outside in the cold for our car. I gave direct feedback this was unacceptable,to the front desk, and they apologized saying it was a 3rd party company not affiliated with them. All in all, not an incredible experience I expected from the name,Ruth's Chris, which I'd heard stellar things about. Wouldn't come back necessarily, but the food was good and the Livermore Cab wine was great!

We typically avoid chains however RC always has a social place in our stomach. Last night RC Uptown felt like a chain. Place was freezing cold. Bar area was dead. Our bartender (Franz) couldn't remember our order and left off our favorite add (blue cheese on top of bone in filet). Steak was great - the potatoes Al gratin looked like I made them at home. The folks next to us ordered a tomahawk steak - so the server brought out a selection of knives to choose from in an old wooden box, the knives looked worn and was just a cheesy presentation. Overall Experience was 'ehh'. Likely will be a while before we return - may give SP location next try.

Everything was amazing! I was warmly greeted upon entry. My waitress, Danny, was the sweetest! I ordered the catch of the day & it was superb! I didn't realize that it came with asparagus & ordered an extra side, but Danny took care of that with no problem. The au gratin potatoes were great, the caesar salad was great, & the pomegranate martini was fixed perfectly. I had a 5:30pm reservation on a Thursday & it was pretty quiet. Things began to pick up at around 7:30pm. Everyone who worked there checked in frequently to make sure that I had everything I needed. It was my birthday & Danny brought an amazingggg white chocolate bread pudding. It totally blew my tastebuds away. My only regret was that I didn't order one of them to-go. I definitely plan to return in the near future!

We made reservations to celebrate a friend's birthday. We were greeted by a cordial staff after valet took the car. The table was nicely decorated with rose petals and silver and gold necklaces. Our waiter was attentive and kept our tables with water and cocktails until our meal arrived. My ONLY complaint is that I checked-in on Yelp when I arrived and I was given an offer to use at the restaurant for a 3-course meal at a discounted price but after checking with the manager, he would NOT accept the offer that was specific to this location. Because I was there to celebrate a birthday, I didn't make a complaint but I won't patronize this location again. Our dinner was very good but I don't agree with false advertisement and every other restaurant that's given me a Yelp offer has allowed me to use it. There are too many other restaurants that honor their word and know how to keep Yelp customers coming back. Not a good look Ruth Chris Uptown location! Not a good look for your brand.

As always, the best steak, and the same all across the west to East coast. Their meal of app, steak, side and a dessert is amazing value. But, my favorite steak all across the steakhouses.

I went to Ruth's Chris steak house on a Friday night with a good friend of mine for girls night. I will honestly say girls night here is a new favorite of mine. (Next to brunching of course ‍). We dressed kinda comfy that evening so we sat at the bar as it is a more upscale atmosphere and environment. The experience at the bar was just as good. The bartenders were really nice and attentive. We ordered the crab cakes for an appetizer. The crab cake came out nice, hot and yummy. We asked for some remoulade sauce to accompany it. I ordered a New York strip, garlic mashed potatoes and the brussel sprouts for my entree. Mama got to eat and I surely went to town once my food came out. My steak was nice and juicy and cooked just how I like it. My friend ordered the wedge salad and a loaded baked potato. Everything came out really good and we enjoyed great conversation with among each other, other bar guest and the bartenders as everyone was extremely nice. We did order drinks, my favorite was the strawberry basil gimlet! I highly recommend that.

Very tough to say anything bad about Ruth Chris. This place has a reputation for being very expensive but I think if you give them a chance, it's worth every penny. I love the portion sizes here, they don't over feed you as many restaurants tend to do. The steak I got was PERFECT, I typically do medium but the sever suggested medium rare and I have to say, I was quite pleased. I was with a large party so tough to say a single server stood out, they were all very attentive and timely. We even had a private room, with closed doors so the vibe felt very homey. Like we were the only people in the restaurant. Definitely encourage everyone to take a trip here after you save up a penny or two! And I know for sure I will be back!!

Me and my family went to Ruth's Chris for Thanksgiving dinner. We didn't know what to expect, especially given it was a holiday and service has been rough at places around Charlotte lately. We were pleasantly surprised. Our server was awesome. Everything was great. They do even offer a full thanksgiving plating for around $50, including a nice dessert. I opted for the Texas ribeye, along with potatoes AU gratin, Brussels sprouts and a side of bread. Everything turned out great. Definitely order the steak medium.

Always enjoy spending a night grabbing dinner at my favorite restaurant, Ruth's Chris. This Uptown location in particular is my favorite one by far. The staff is amazing, no matter what server we get we are never disappointed. I tried the cowboy ribeye for the first time and let me tell you it was to die for. My favorite drink is the coconut lemon ginger drop. Will definitely be returning!

Uptown Ruth's Chris always exceeds expectations with both service and food. Can't wait to go back and have another great experience. Definitely recommend asking about the chefs special, it is to die for!

Honestly the service was better than the food. The food was just okay and not worth the price at all to me. The food lacked flavor, the best part of the lamb chops was the temperature of them and the butter that was under them. This experience has confirmed that I don't care for fine dining. Expensive food with lack of flavor. P.s their menu is a la carte. The inside is nice and dim though.
