Struggling to Secure Financial Assistance, Houston’s West African Restaurants Are Worried For the Future | Eater Houston

"This national chain is cited as having received a Paycheck Protection Program loan and later returned the funds, an example used to contrast the ability of larger or well-known restaurants to access and then relinquish federal relief while smaller independent operators continued to face barriers." - Brandon Summers-Miller

These photos were taken on 10/31/2025. This was my first time dining at Ruth Chris. The Hostess was very kind. Our server I believe her name was “ Jan. ” She was very accommodating and friendly. She built rapport with my partner and myself. The food was delicious! I will definitely return. The only critique I have is that the calamari was quite rubbery didn’t taste fresh. Otherwise, I enjoyed my experience.

Ruths Chris is always a great place to have a casual but high quality meal. I like the laid back environment, consistency across all their restaurants, and their service. I felt like servers were checking up on us a little too frequently, which interrupted some conversations between my friend and I. All the food was flavored well and everything came out quickly.

As always an amazing restaurant !! Our bartender/waiter Travis was just amazing. His attention to detail, professionalism and top-notch service was second to none. The food was cooked to perfection. Can’t wait to come back for another great meal!

Fantastic steakhouse! Juicy, perfectly cooked steaks with rich flavor. Cozy atmosphere and top-notch service, highly recommend! The seafood tower was a perfect appetizer, fresh and beautifully presented. Both the steak and shrimp were cooked to perfection. Can’t wait to come back for another great meal!

If you're a steak person, you undoubtedly know Ruth's Chris steakhouse. For those of you who haven't yet experienced it, you are in for a treat when you do, but you need to know a few things about the place. First of all, it's expensive, even overpriced, if I'm being completely transparent. Sure, the environment is upscale and inviting. The service is generally pretty good, but, of course, it can vary widely depending on who waits your table. And yes, the food is very good. I don't think many would dispute any of that. The thing is, you have to be prepared to drop $200 to $250 for two people and that doesn't include drinks or dessert. If that works for your budget, you're good to go, but keep in mind that you're buying the experience. It comes as a package deal. If it's just the food you're interested in, there are plenty of other steakhouses that deliver similar quality food (the good folks at Ruth'sChris would argue that point) for a whole lot less. I personally enjoy Ruth's Chris, but the bill is always hard to swallow.

Pretty much everything was great. A sat at a booth at the bar, my server was the bartender. She was beautiful inside and out. I was drinking alone, so they gave me a smaller portion salad than usual, which was kind. With my steak, the have me complimentary small sides without my having to ask. The only negative was my steak was a bit overdone. But I'll blame that on my ignorance, being unused to steaks that think. I ordered medium rare, but there was only a touch of pink in the center. The edges were medium well. I think the plate continued to cook it? Next time, I'm order rare and compare results.

I have not been back since February but the manager did reach out and has invited me to come and try again: One of the worst steakhouse experiences I've had in a while. We ordered lamb chops and a Caesar salad-the salad was good, and the potatoes and Mac&Cheese were mediocre, but the lamb chops were way, way, way too salty, to the point where my mouth felt numb. As if that wasn't bad enough, when I went to take a bite, I felt a long, slithery piece of hair on my tongue. It completely ruined the already inedible food for me. Even though they brought out another plate, I was too disgusted to eat another bite. Knowing that someone else's hair had just been in my mouth was repulsive. To make matters worse, I had to wait an additional 20-30 minutes for my replacement meal while my entire party ate in front of me. And when the new food finally arrived, it was still just as unbearably salty. Honestly, this place is not worth the money at all. Definitely wouldn't consider it a "high-class" establishment unless the only thing you're looking forward to is a quiet and dimly lit room.

First off, it's important for me to note that the service and waitstaff at this location were EXCELLENT. The hostess was so accommodating to give us a table by the window to see the sunset, and our waiter (I *think* his name was Craig... but I am blanking now) consistently looked out for us in multiple amazing ways: he turned the TV off so that our little table member would not be glued to it all night, he kept an eye out for dairy-free versions of things, he brought us oil and vinegar for our bread, he checked in regularly and made sure we always had water and bread... he was amazing. The waiter in training, Anthony, was friendly, helpful, and kind. We had a wonderful night because of the staff. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms, and we were BLOWN. AWAY. They were the best mushrooms either of us have eaten... possibly in our whole lives. Our server was gracious to split them so that two had cheese and two didn't. At roughly $5 a mushroom, these were a very pretty penny. They absolutely set the tone for this meal in an incredible, positive way. Excellent. Highly recommend. We ordered two sides: grilled asparagus, which was roughly 8 or so stalks for $15, and lobster mac and cheese, which was strangely sweet and wasn't worth the roughly $30 despite being a great amount of food. To be honest, I think we recommend against getting sides here-- the asparagus was well cooked, but it didn't really add much to totality of the meal, and it wasn't much quantity. The mac was a novelty in the sense that it cost more than an entree at most places would cost, but it wasn't exceptional, and it was rather runny too. At that price, it left us somewhat disappointed and feeling foolish for ordering it. We ordered two mains: a bone-in ribeye and the three lamb chops. This is where the review shifts down to three stars. To be clear, the ribeye steak was most definitely the best steak either of us had ever eaten in our entire lives. 5 stars. PHENOMENAL. But the lamb... the lamb, folks. I was so disappointed. I had been incredibly excited for this lamb for weeks as we looked forward to going to Ruth's Chris. I LOVE lamb--it is probably my favorite red meat, and it's tricky to cook well. When done well, it's tender and juicy and just... perfection. The lamb that I received, priced at about $70, was just so disappointing for so many reasons. First, they'd neglected frenching the lamb (stripping it of the fascia at the top, where the bone is typically exposed). This is kind of a basic step to cooking excellent lamb--it makes for a more tender, more beautiful, more pleasant to eat, more delicious. It takes work, and they didn't put in that work this time. What a bummer! Why not do that? Second, the flavor was very mild. Supposedly, the meat is marinated for a while, but I just tasted... typical lamb, nothing extraordinary, nothing deep or profound. The little chopped mint pieces were sparse and barely even visually discernable, never mind being detected in taste. Third, the lamb was very difficult to get off the bone. I specifically asked for the kitchen's recommendation on how to cook this meat because I personally favor rare meat but didn't want it to be undercooked or spoiled. They brought back a "medium rare" meat that stuck very much to the bone and was unpleasant. It was quite cold in the center. If this is the kitchen recommendation... it just seems like a subpar way to enjoy this otherwise excellent cut of meat. I'm really disappointed. At this price (over $100 a person), this was a very special, never-before-seen experience for us, and it just kind of fell flat. All because of the lamb. Sadness.

Yelp
Celebrated my husband's birthday. Very comfortable, lighting enough to read the menu, music at a volume to hold a conversation & our wait staff headed by Tanner was awesome! Met our every need without being intrusive. Blueberry mojito was a pleasant surprise. Hubs ordered the pomegranate martini which was delicious! Seared ahi tuna with a cucumber & ginger salad was the perfect appetizer. Light and bursting with flavor! Could have stopped there but nope. Hubs ordered a salad, NY strip steak cooked to perfection. I ordered the crab cakes which made me think about Maryland crab cakes without all that breading. The killer was the steak & crab cake were served on smoking hot plates! Love it when my food is hot to the last bite! Ruth nailed it! Our side was creamed spinach. Sides are served family style so come hungry, bring a couple friends or be ready to take dinner home. Birthday celebration success!

Yelp
I'm a 35-year plus Ruth, Chris customer and lover. There's no better place to get a fillet And although you can get a pretty good quality, Ruth Chris steak here, management and the bartenders suck. There a small fish and a big pond and running out of oxygen... Good luck! Fellas your food is not as good as you used to be

Yelp
Everything was fantastic (food, drinks, service, etc) until I got sticker-shocked with the bill. It was happy hour for the majority of my dining and drinking but because checked out 30 minutes AFTER happy hour ended, they charged me full price. word to the wise is: ask for your bill BEFORE six so you don't pay full price if you're there for happy hour.

Yelp
I visited Ruth's Chris for an event, so we were seated in their event space in the back. The house salad was pretty basic, other than the delicious cheesy croutons. I ordered a ribeye, which I think was a mistake over the filet. I would get the filet in the future after trying it. We got creamed spinach and mashed potatoes as our sides. I loved the creamed spinach and could not get enough. I'm not a huge potato fan in general, so I didn't eat much of them. However, they were still delicious, just not my vibe. Our servers were attentive and everything come out so quickly. Overall, it was all good. I would go back in the future for other events or functions. I had a good experience!

Yelp
Best steak ever. So tender and juicy. Cooked perfectly. Kept warm in a plate. Service was superb. The ambiance is very upscale. An excellent meal with excellent service.

Yelp
Came here for one of those group events. This one was Solar. Had a filet that was delicious. Love the hot sizzling plate with butter. The wife had a strip that was huge and cooked perfectly. They do steaks right especially when soneone else is paying.

Yelp
I came here for a private event for Private Equity managers...and the meal was complimentary (aka I didn't pay for it...ya cheap bastahrd). Ruth's Chris Steak houses are pretty much everywhere: Are they the most amazing last meal on earth kinda places? No that would be Peter Luger, Gibson's, or La Cabrea (ok some places in Tokyo serving A5). Buts....Ruth' Chris serves a good steak, with good sides in a nice ambiance. Service was great and seamless. Would I come back ....yes the food was good and I would even pay myself.

Yelp
My husband and I went back for a late anniversary dinner and had the same exemplary service as our last visit. James and Megan were friendly and knowledgeable and treated us very well. The ambiance of this restaurant was so peaceful and enjoyable for an intimate date night. I had the New York Strip again and my husband had a Ribeye. Both steaks were perfectly cooked and very tender. Our Cesar salad and lobster bisque appetizers were both yummy. The bisque was creamy with great flavor. The lobster Mac and cheese was another win with a large amount of lobster meat and creamy cheese sauce. The garlic mashed potatoes were delicious as well. I had the crème brûlée for dessert which was light and delicious. I also tried the the Ruth's coffee dessert cocktail which was boozy and delicious. My husband got the chocolate sin cake and said it was very yummy. The chef wrote us a special anniversary note on the plate which was sweet. My husband had the blueberry mojito which was delicious and the merlot listed on their food pairing menu was perfect. We can't wait to come back again.

Yelp
Service was quite slow as the server forgot to put our order in. Steak was very tough and not up to par with other steakhouses in the area. Rest of the food was mediocre

Yelp
We made reservations on a Saturday night at 5pm for shortly after the restaurant opened. We found free parking easily and were seated rather quickly. Service was prompt and great - our server took great care of us. Loved the complimentary bread, extra dirty martini, and the food in general. We had shrimp cocktail (which was gigantic!) and ordered off their pre-fix menu. For $72, we had salads, surf & turf with a side each, and cheesecake for dessert. One of our medium rare steaks came extremely rare, but once I raised it they took it back to cook it to the medium rare we requested. We would come back!

Yelp
The ambiance was just right with the cozy decor, design, and lighting. We sat in a booth which was roomy. The staff was very attentive and even the chef visited our table to make sure we had everything we needed. We shared the porterhouse and ribeye steak that was on special because they had made too many. The $150 special included salads and desserts (cheesecake with berries). Across the street from was a parking garage that was free for the first 3 hours. We had a lovely experience and will go back again.

Yelp
Service: 5 stars hands down ! Our server Jan was amazing. Her personality complimented our table perfectly. She told us about the new format of the menu and upsold us on a few items. The manager came around to our table to make sure everything was perfect. Great job team! Food: 5 stars! We started with the crab cakes for appetizer. Lots of crab with the right amount of breading. Would highly recommend. Had the chopped salad minus blue cheese and had it with Thousand Island dressing. Then I had the 11 ounce filet medium rare and it just melted in my mouth. It was so good I ended up eating the entire thing. My friends had the Porter House for 2 and it was worth the price and they had plenty of food to take home. We had the au gratin potatoes which were super cheesy and so good. Ambiance: 5 stars. Ruth Chris could be a great place for a romantic dinner , a place to hold a Christmas party, to everyday dining. They have a nice bar with tvs all around , so a great place for a cocktail while watching a game. I can't believe people have given low ratings for this restaurant. Service to food was impeccable.

Yelp
I didn't mind that one of six drinks was gin rather than vodka because the server corrected it before I could ask for it to be rectified. I also adore that the change in ownership corrected the previously heinously undercooked/raw French fries - they were fluffy and crispy. But the spicy shrimp were overly-coated and undersauced. Additionally, both burgers were horrifically overcooked. He ate the Swiss burger served medium-rare but ordered rare. I ate three bites of the medium-well salty-hockey puck that was ordered medium-rare and had them throw the rest away. Meanwhile, the do-nothing manager checked on the table of three who ordered enough food for ten people THREE times (before they broke dishware) and ignored us completely. After five years, that was likely our last visit ever. For $75/pp, we can have better food in a more hospitable place.

Yelp
Wow!!! I get that it's Valentines Day, but that's what reservations are for. Here we sit....an hour after our reservation time and they are "running late". The lobby here is absolutely packed full of people waiting for their table. It's so ridiculous. Needless to say, we will NEVER be back. Thanks for ruining my bday dinner Ruth's Chris. Yelp
Fantastic food and drinks. Everything was prepared to the highest standards. Inviting dining room and bar. Impeccable service.

Yelp
I just wanted to give an update on my awful experience. It has still not been rectified. I emailed them as requested and then they passed me along to someone else, who then passed me along to someone who else. Then eventually someone from the local restaurant called me and left a voicemail saying that she wanted to hear my side of the story, like I was making something up. Her tone just sounded very demeaning and accusatory, so I didn't end up calling her back. Extremely poor customer service. Honestly, corporate should have refunded me or sent a gift card, not send me on a wild goose chase of email and phone tag. I don't think that I will ever go to a Ruth Chris again.

Jackee V.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere! Great steaks! Great baked potatoes! Crisp cold salads!! Easy parking! I have always received great service! Definitely going back! They never disappoint!

Yelp
Very disappointed in our visit to Ruth Chris supposably one the the best steakhouse around. Small portions and mediocre food. My cocktail was nice but not likely to return.

Yelp
We had an awesome dinner here last night the ribeye boneless sweet potato and mac & cheese bread and butter and cheesecake was phenomenal. I highly recommend you try this restaurant amazing service super fast and attentive it was a great time!!

Yelp
Ruth's Chris never disappoints but the last Mother's day service I was not able to give a full 5 stars. Went multiple times prior but this time the food, not service, was extremely slow, even though our waiter apologized early on. Cajun eggs benedict tasted good but the eggs were not runny, rather hard boiled. We will be back as everything else was great.
google avatar

Yelp
An absolutely amazing meal for Thanksgiving! Our calamari appetizer was delicious, as well as our turkey, stuffing, potatoes and that dessert! Our waiter, Logan, was professional, efficient and just a nice young man.

Yelp
A lovely experience for a Sunday afternoon. They open at 4pm and they have a happy hour which won't break your pocketbook. Spicy shrimp, steak sandwich, martinis etc. Something for everyone. I recommend the classic meal. It's all pre chosen with steak & shrimp or steak and lobster, plus one side, and a dessert for one price. They can accommodate allergies upon request. The steak came out undercooked but was soon remedied and remade. The wait staff was pleasant and easy. TV's are on in the bar area if you are worried about missing an important sports event. Atmosphere is pleasant. Parking is free for the first 3 hours in the covered parking lot. Come hungry and enjoy.

Yelp
We dined at Ruth's Chris Steak House in the Denver Tech Center and had a lovely holiday, date night. We arrived and we were seated in the main dining room. The ambience of Ruth Chris is upscale and moody with beautiful light fixtures & dark neutral colors. General Manager Eddy was upbeat & personable and made his way through the dining room, stopping by every table to ensure patrons were enjoying their meals. Our server Jami was professional & efficient. I started off my meal with a glass of The Prisoner, Red Blend. The Prisoner, Red Blend had a smooth luscious finish. The aroma was that of dark chocolate and roasted fig. There were raspberry, vanilla & pomegranate flavor notes that brought forth a balanced, medium sweetness. This wine paired very well with my steak - a fab dinner wine all around. For appetizers we had the seasonal Veal Osso Buco Ravioli and the Mushrooms Stuffed with Crabmeat. The Veal Osso Buco Ravioli is made with saffron-infused pasta paired with sautéed baby spinach and a veal demi-glace. The veal osso buco was delicate in flavor and wrapped in tender, fresh pasta. The veal demi-glace was rich and fragrant. I would call this appetizer a winter warmer & a special starter indeed. The Mushrooms Stuffed with Crabmeat are broiled & topped with romano cheese. The mushrooms were piping hot and stuffed with tasty crab. The crab and toasted romano cheese were loaded with texture & buttery flavor. For our specialty cuts, I had the Bone-In Filet, Oscar Style and Ross had the Bone-In New York Strip with a Bleu Cheese Crust. The Bone-In Filet, Oscar Style was an incredibly tender 16 oz bone-in cut, aged to the peak of flavor. My Bone-In Filet was medium-rare and had a full flavor profile with meaty tenderness. The bone enhanced the subtle sweetness of the meat. The Oscar Style crab cake, asparagus, & béarnaise sauce crowned my filet and added some drool worthy, buttery flavor. The Bone-In New York Strip was USDA Prime, full-bodied 19 oz bone-in cut, and is Ruth's Chris founder's favorite. The Bleu Cheese Crust was made with bleu cheese, roasted garlic. The Bone-In New York Strip had a robust flavor with bold, beefy notes. It had a great bite and solid chew. The bone lended a rich marrow flavor to the lean meat. The bleu cheese topping was flavorful, crunchy and melty. For Signature Side Dishes we had the Lobster Mac & Cheese and the Grilled Asparagus. The Lobster Mac & Cheese is made with tender lobster, three cheese blend, & mild green chiles. The Lobster Mac & Cheese had generous lumps of sweet lobster throughout. The cheese was ultra creamy and decadent. YUM. For dessert we had the Creme Brulee made with vanilla bean custard with raw sugar crust. The Creme Brulee was a creamy amalgamation of vanilla & caramel. There was a very thin brittle top of melted sugar that added a delicate crunch to the smooth custard. More please!

Yelp
Visited Ruth's Chris Steak House with my friends to celebrate one of us moving out of state and we had a good dinner. My friends got cocktails and I drank water and a soda. The appetizer's were standard for a steakhouse so I went for the soup and ordered a Lobster Bisque which was creamy and good but barely had any lobster init. My friends had the same soup. We all ended up getting steaks which were tasty. One friend ordered the Petite Filet with Shrimp, the other ordered the Petite Fillet, and I ordered the Petite Filet Oscar style. My steak was cooked medium but I did not like the Oscar style because it was crab cakes and not lump crab which I would have preferred. For the sides we ordered the Lobster Mac & Cheese and the Creamed Spinach. They were both decent. The desserts were served once we finished. My friends got the Bread Pudding, Cheesecake, and I got the Crème Brûlée with an espresso shot to wash it down. Overall I would go to this restaurant again for lunch or dinner since it would not break the bank and be somewhat satisfying.

Yelp
Was surprised for my birthday by friends and family at Ruth's. My husband has made a reservation at the downtown one on a busy Friday night over the holiday weekend but they were still able to make space for our party of 6, here after a short wait. The servers were fantastic and the food was amazing. Several of us ordered the Ruth special so we could get salad and desserts. Since we ate so much bread, salad and steak, our cheesecakes were packaged to-go. The server threw in an extra one and thanked her since it was my birthday. She was so floored that we didn't tell her and bummed she was not able to do the staff song/dance with a desert and candle as we were all packed up and leaving. But she ran back and drew Happy Birthday on a plate and brought it out to me with a candle anyway. Super sweet and made me feel seen. My husband company has been looking for a regular steakhouse to celebrate holidays at and Ruth's is now a contender. One unique thing I had not experienced elsewhere was the plates being boiling hot. I took that to be so the food stayed warm. They were able to swap one out for the younger child in the group but they were very hot even for adults.

Yelp
Tried this place out after my roommate took him mom there (she was visiting from Texas) and suggested I try it out myself. I ended up getting the steakhouse experience and upgraded my steak for $24, which did bring up the cost quite a bit but hey you pay for quality. My side was the creamed spinach (though they brought me mashed potatoes by accident), Caesar salad, the fried shrimp appetizer and for dessert I had the cheesecake. Everything was delicious and my waitress, Abby, was kind enough to answer any questions I had about the menu. All in all a good meal. My only issue was that I could get a steak meal in Texas of about the same quality for cheaper, but that's my only gripe. A good place if you want to splurge or just have a bunch of disposable income.

Yelp
Hubs and I decided to try RC for happy hour one afternoon without the little. It was delicious. We started with a couple Manhattans, which were quite generous. For food, we tried the Seared Ahi Tuna, Spicy Shrimp, and then split the burger. The spicy shrimp and the burger were our favorites. The burger came out overcooked and our server was great about getting a fresh one out for us. The fries are perfectly crispy. Truly an amazing deal for $9. For the second round, I tried the HH wine but it was not good. I'll either order up or go with another manhattan next time. As there will most certainly be a next time!

Yelp
We have been to Ruth's Chris for multiple occasions and this time around did not disappoint. This was my sister-in-laws Birthday. This was her first time at Ruth's Chris and she loved it. We all had Rib Eyes (cowboy, blue cheese, and truffle). She ordered the tomahawk steak. We also ordered all the sides and shared it. Logan was our server and he along with other servers were excellent at taking care of our table. We had a private dining area separate from the main dining and provided us with a great atmosphere and we were mostly there by ourselves until the end of the night. All and all it was excellent.

Yelp
Came for Father's Day and could only get reservations for 4pm so we called to confirm that they would be offering their version of the Early Bird and they said that they no longer offer that but had a fixed price meal of steak and lobster which sounded fine. This is a nice old-school establishment and we have come here frequently over the last 3 years. The steaks are generally top notch and the filet special was no exception, cooked med rare and tender. The lobster tails were hit or miss, tender but 2 of them were extremely salty, I mean over the top salty. We mentioned it to the Server who said that they don't add salt, but they come that way. I find that odd since we eat a lot of lobster, both fresh and frozen and have not experienced heavily salted frozen tails before. The manager came to the table to talk to us and we insisted that we were fine with the lobster and we didn't want a substitution, but we truly appreciated the gesture to be customer-focused and collegial. The manager, Ryan, is a true professional and we appreciated his concern. We would have to comment that the woman who was assigning the tables at 4pm on Father's Day was not as customer focused. We arrived to a virtually empty dining room and had requested on our reservation on Open Table to be seated in the main room, not the side room. The hostess proceeded to take us to perhaps the worst table in the restaurant. This table is at the junction between the two rooms and the entrance which is the busiest, most congested spot in the entire restaurant. We would have gladly sat there, IF there were no other tables open and IF we didn't have a reservation, and IF we had no other places to spend $110+ a person to have a quick steak, or IF we weren't dressed appropriately and IF it wasn't Father's Day. We asked for a different table and assured them that they could turn our table quickly. The lead hostess copped an attitude and asked us what we wanted. We said a good table in the main room. She put us in the penalty box and we waited for 15 minutes while she looked at her screen. We finally sat down at 4:25. When the Server approached us we asked about the Early special and his face fell and he said that it wasn't available and we told him that we had verified that it was. He left the table and then returned 5 minutes later. We ordered and then 15 minutes into the meal a different waiter, whom we have had before, came to the table to tell us that he would be taking over. Soo--the meal was not what we had hoped it would be, it was fraught with attitude and penalty time outs which is frankly, preposterous when we are spending that kind of money for an early dining experience. We are also very generous tippers, but it is hard to justify this kind of expense for this kind of treatment by the hostess and the server. The manager is exceptional here, but the customer facing employees are not welcoming or collegial to the people who frequent their establishments and choose Ruth's over Mortons for dining out. We plan on returning soon, but only because Ryan is the manager and we know that he is professional and welcoming.

Yelp
This location needs to be closed- permanently. I am very used to great Ruth's in California but sadly this location is awful, from the food to the service - just bad. First off, let's start with the parking. This location does not enjoy valet parking, instead, you have to park in a parking structure and it's quite a long walk to the restaurant. This place could easily accommodate valet and I don't know why they don't offer it. I answered my own question as the evening professed - read on. Secondly, the website makes a big deal out of their dress code, not allowing jerseys or hats. Yet when we walked in, we encountered both of those immediately. Literally thugs walking around wearing both and it continued throughout the evening. There was no attempt to have them remove their hats or to refuse service. So why bother with the website admonition? Third, the service was very bad. The waiter was pretty much nonexistent the entire evening and the place was half full, so I'm not sure what the issue was. We had to constantly flag him down just to get our orders taken and food delivered. Lastly, let's talk about the food. The steaks were just OK but the biggest issue was we ordered a bunch of side dishes, and yet the plates they brought out for us with the steak on it barely had room for the steak let alone any of the sides that we wanted to dish onto our plates. This was the most amazing part of the night! I've talked to a number of people about this since, who are very familiar with this location, and they all said the same thing - that this place is doomed and needs to close immediately. It's just a bad restaurant, in a bad location, with bad parking, bad food and bad service. Will NEVER return.

Yelp
This is one of the top steak houses in Colorado. This location is in the Bellevue Station area. My family sat down for a nice dinner. The hostess was very nice and let us know I table would be ready in a few minutes once we arrived. We were instructed to sit in the lounge up front until it was ready. This was Ike a minute or two wait. We had some wine, and they ran out of my Malbec selection, so the server gave some other full-bodied options. We started with the House Chopped and Caesar salads. Both were extremely good, especially the Chopped Salad. For dinner, we had the petite filets, I ordered mine rare, bloody, with truffle parmesan crust. Other family members had petite filet plain medium-rare. My steak came out medium well. It was still tasty & I didn't want to make a fuss about it. I will say with a high-end steak house with high-end cuts, they should know how to cook a steak RARE. Having an expensive cut with add ons heavily overcooked is not ok. My other family members' steaks came out rare. Luckily, they loved their steaks even though those were not cooked to med-rare, as requested. I would return, but I'm definitely sending back my steak. If it's not cooked to rare, there is a big difference in taste from Rare & Med-Well. Hopefully, they will work on their temperatures for future guest with such expensive cuts. Otherwise other food options & service was great.

Yelp
2/14/25 First impressions walking up it was nice but then it immediately wasn't with having to wait an hour to get a table even though i had reservations and showed up 15 minutes before my reservations. Standing next to the hostess table I can over hear that they were telling people that don't have reservations that the wait time is the same as mine who did. If someone has reservations they should be put on to the list at the top not put to waiting an hour for a table like everyone else. Don't allow people to put reservations if your establishment can't full fill them.

Yelp
Enjoyed a lovely happy hour/birthday celebration at Ruth Chris Steak House! The food was just as great as the views, taken back. What really made my tastebuds dance was the mustard-beer sauce under the Seared Ahi Tuna. nothing but explosions of heat and spices all at once. Staff was incredible, really made a point to make us feel welcomed! But they were a bit slow and hardly anyone in, at first, so our servers switched and Paul ended up being wonderful. HH 4 p.m-6 p.m., Sunday-Friday

Yelp
You know it's going to be a treat as their food is so good but what made this stand out was our server Grant. He was on the spot with recommendations and service exactly as needed. He was funny too especially about having to really bear down to eat an entire cheesecake serving for dessert. He was correct as that was a large cheesecake. I had the lobster bisque petite fillet and a double espresso. They were all perfectly prepared. I've eaten in several locations and they absolutely are a great place to grab a bite. This spot is worth a visit.

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience at this Ruth's Chris location last night. Our server (I wish I could remember his name- he was tall, thin, wore glasses and had light facial hair) was amazing, he was so patient and personable. I loved the chandeliers and the art, it really gave the restaurant a creative, new look. And of course the dim, candle lit atmosphere is always so relaxing. The goat cheese spinach artichoke dip with the toasted garlic bread was drool worthy- tangy, crispy and savory. My fillet was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. The garlic mashed potatoes were also perfect- lots of butter (I'm from the south, so they were really capturing my heart, here) which made them so silky. I enjoyed all of this with a glass of Riesling. To finish the meal off, I of course had to get the crème brûlée which was the perfect ending to an incredible meal and phenomenal experience.

Yelp
I hate to do this but the food and service here really sucked when we went there on Friday night 1/19/24. We had been here once before and we ordered the Tbone and the service and food were both great so we thought it would always be a good last minute alternavite to the other steak houses but this time it was less than mediocre. Lets just say I have had better service and food at the kangaroo steak house. The 6oz fillet was less than a half inch thick, the lobster bisque tasted burnt and looked like it had been sitting, my wedge salid was drowned in blue cheese, the Calamaris was sweet, like wtf, and my son, who loves french fries, barely touched his. And the service was bad too, took for ever to get a waiter and to get our first drinks and there was barely anyone there eating, which made sense now that I think about it. The worst part is they nailed us for over $200 bill Never going back here again and would never recommend it to anyone. Ruth's Chris has fallen a long ways and we were/are very dissapointed..

Yelp
Okay. Here we go. I try not to leave negative reviews because I don't want to drag down a restaurant thinking perhaps they had a bad night. However, I've been to this location a number of times and it never meets my expectations. The service is always crappy, the bartenders are usually aloof. The service is spotty at best on a good night. Tonight my steak took 40 minutes to arrive while I was one of the first people in the restaurant. No excuse, finally delivered it was wildly overcooked. The server was nice enough to apologize and of course replace the steak. There was no beyond that that, I'm done. The quality was somewhere around outback in the price twice. Many other other options folks, pursue! I will never go back and recommend my friends don't either.

Yelp
I don't want to leave a bad review about yesterday (Mother's Day), I know they already probably feel bad about making us wait not only for a table, but for food too. I did want to say I felt bad for our server, Jason. I've worked in a restaurant before and he kept it together for my wife and child. We had a pleasant time enjoying each other's company, and Jason just kept maintaining his poise and wonderful service and that can't be without notice. We'll be back for sure. :)

Yelp
Excellent quality steak, had the filet and it was nicely done, very tasty outside and tender steak. Sides of mashed potatoes and spinach were average. Nice seating area but he parking garage gate was a bit tricky to open. Great service and friendly staff.

Yelp
Our waiter must have been new. They were very nice but not attentive to the table. Drinks and appetizers came out in a timely matter. After ordering steaks we waited over an hour for the steaks and sides to be brought out. We watch other guest come after us and receive their steaks well before us. The steaks were "warm" like they been sitting for while and the lobster Mac and cheese was cold. First bad experience at Ruth Chris and hope it was a one time bad experience.

Yelp
We went to Ruth Cris 2-12-23 & it was delicious! The tenderloin was flavorful and tender served hot and cooked as requested. The salad was fresh & very large. The sides mashed potatoes & creamed spinach were superb as well. Cheesecake for dessert is my recommendation. The staff was efficient and attentive. Water refilled without asking. The DTC is a great location for nearby Highlands Ranch area where we live. Go & enjoy!
