Ruth’s Chris Returns $20M Federal Stimulus Loan in Response to Public Demand | Eater

"A publicly traded steakhouse chain that received $20 million from the Paycheck Protection Program and is returning those funds after intense public backlash about large companies taking limited small-business relief. Its eligibility was enabled by a PPP rule allowing restaurants with 500 or fewer employees per location to apply, and the repayment follows Treasury guidance warning public companies to assess economic need and prepare to justify their certifications to the SBA amid possible investigations or penalties." - Jenny G. Ruth’s Chris in Fresno truly deserves a special shout-out. I’ve visited multiple Ruth’s Chris locations, and the Fresno team consistently delivers an experience that feels a cut above the rest. From the moment you walk in, the service feels warmer, more attentive, and genuinely hospitable; something I haven’t always seen at other locations. The steaks here are superb every single time: perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and brought out sizzling just the way Ruth’s Chris is known for. The quality feels noticeably higher compared to other cities I’ve dined in, and the consistency alone sets this Fresno location apart. The sides are always fresh and well-seasoned, and the cocktails are crafted with care rather than rushed. What really impressed me, though, was the attention to detail. The staff checks in at just the right moments, the timing between courses is smooth, and the overall atmosphere is elegant without being pretentious. It’s the kind of place that makes any dinner feel like a special occasion. If you’ve been to other Ruth’s Chris locations, you’ll notice immediately that the Fresno restaurant goes above and beyond. This is easily one of the best in the chain — superb food, exceptional service, and a dining experience that outshines the rest.

Ruth's Chris in Fresno provided a truly enjoyable setting for a recent birthday celebration. The atmosphere was upscale and fun, making the special occasion feel properly celebrated. The drinks and food were fantastic. The quality of the steaks and other dishes lived up to the Ruth's Chris reputation, and we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. However, the service had a few minor, yet noticeable, stumbles. Our server misheard a couple of our drink and food orders, which required correction. Additionally, the dishes for our party didn't arrive at the table all at the same time, leading to a slight feeling of being uncoordinated. The server also went through every section of the menu in detail. While I appreciated the thoroughness and knowledge, this extensive presentation felt like it took a bit too long before we were able to look over the menu ourselves and finalize our decisions. These small service hiccups, while present, did not ruin our experience. It was also Freezing in the dining room. Bring a shawl or cardigan. The delicious food, great drinks, and celebratory atmosphere ensured we had a wonderful time. Despite the minor issues with timing and order-taking, the overall quality of the dining experience was high, and I would absolutely love to come back for another visit. It's a great spot for a special occasion.

Just moved to Fresno recently, and happened to celebrate my birthday here. Everyone at Ruth’s Chris were super hospitable and friendly. We arrived with decorations on our table and a menu with a birthday message on top. They even took a photo for us and gave it to us as a gift. On top of all the service, their onion soup is one of the best I’ve tried thus far, and their steaks were on point too! Super juice and flavorful!!! Thank you to Ruth’s Chris Steak house for an amazing night :) I will definitely visit again!

It was our 1st time coming to this restaurant and my gf and I went to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. Let me tell you that all the staff did an amazing job to make us feel special and welcomed! Especially Richard!! Shout out to Richard because he went above and beyond to provide us with amazing service. From the beginning to the end he was attentive to make sure everything was good from the food to our beverages. A manager helped my gf out to find the perfect wine for the occasion and a hostess even put rose petals out for us. We got ravioli and the stuffed mushrooms for appetizers and they were great. The bread and butter was delicious and they kept them coming! We got the 26oz cowboy ribeye for our entree and they came out perfect, we got them medium and we got what we asked for. For the sides, we got the asparagus, garlic mashed and lobster mac and cheese and everything was delicious! At the end Richard came out to serve us complimentary dessert for the special occasion which was the cherry on top to a great evening! Thank you Richard and the rest of the staff for everything and for making it a memorable anniversary dinner!

Google
First time in this location. The food was great, as always and as expected. The onion soup was to die for. I had a 16 oz Ribeye, which was cooked a perfectly rare. This is not easy to do, when still making the outside crusty and the inside not stone cold, well done. Equally good job on the 6 oz fillet and lobster for my spouse. The rare filet was a masterpiece, and the lobster soft as butter. All the sides were great too: 'au gratin' potatoes, creamy spinach and mushrooms. It was very quiet, just 5 tables served, and the atmosphere was a bit eery because of the big room. What was disappointing was the service. The server was clearly not aware of the wine menu, and had to go ask if they had Rose. I would have let that go, but he checked in too many times with always the same "can I grab you anything else", even after first asking "are you doing ok". A few of those are great, but 20 times starts to be annoying.

This was a terrible experience from start to finish. Literally did not even feel like we were in a Ruth’s Chris. We called at 8:15 to see if they could squeeze us in because it was a Saturday night and everything else in the area was full. The gentleman who answered the phone said no problem. When can you get here and we told him we are walking in the door in five minutes. When we walked through the door to young ladies greeted us and told us there was no room available. We explained that we had just hung up the phone and someone secured a table. We showed them the conversation on my daughter‘s phone to ensure we called the right number. No big deal we ended up sitting in the lounge. That’s fine, same menu. The three of us sat ourselves at a table. No one brought our menus. There were only two other tables that were occupied in the bar, and the bar was completely empty. After five minutes, my husband got up and went to the bar and retrieve the menus for us. The waitress finally came over and was pleasant and took our order for drinks and appetizer. Here’s where it all go south. The calamari came out, drenched, literally soaked so much in the chili sauce that the breading was falling off. They were kind enough to split the chopped salad that my husband and I ordered, but it was completely soggy like it was made and chopped in the back hours earlier and sat in the vinaigrette. The biggest joke of all was the $15 baked potato. I’ve attached a photo for your viewing pleasure. This was definitely cooked in the morning and left to dry out all day until it became a shriveled unrecognizable spud. The steak as always was an amazing cut of meat. Unfortunately, it was already cooked too well done (we ordered medium plus - there was zero pink) when they brought it out the sizzling hot plate and immediately became overdone within minutes. Completely too tough to eat. My daughter enjoyed the salmon, but we all agreed it was a little too fishy. I know that sounds funny because it is fish, but fresh fish should never have a fishy smell to it that you can smell from across the table. Not salmon. Overall, the service was fine. It was not over the top, but everyone that served us was pleasant and efficient. When they did forget things, they were quick to correct them. But, I have to say, The food was just not even close to anything that is your typical Ruth’s Chris amazingness. Could’ve been an off night, but for a Saturday night you would think everything would be on.

My server Chris and Jade really rolled out the VIP experience. They were very social, like able and really show strong core values of the company. I’ve been having a rough month, decided to splurge on a night out. The moment I walked in the host got my information and seated me right away. The drinks came out fast! The appetizers were sizzling hot and savory! The steak melted in my mouth! This fine dining experience may have cured my depression and I am grateful for Chris to be there with his kind words.

Yelp
Let's give a round of applause for Ruth's Chris this year on an amazing thanksgiving! I have done this twice now and I can say that the first time wasn't the best but still very good but this second time was special. First time around the hostesses (2yr ago) were rude and we had some back and forth weirdness before getting table etc. this time they treated my mom so good and just had a very high level of hospitality quality. Had a Hendricks and tonic and it was just perfect. Waiting for our table at the bar, they come and remind us and the transition from bar to table was seamless. In the past I was hamstrung with closing tabs and back and forth crap, they made it easy for us and that counts to me. At the table i was surprised to see we were seated at the same table as years ago. I know they didn't know but that was kinda cool. Friendly informative staff here explaining the menu and special day, taking care to attend to my mom's asks and such.Just so kind and easy and smooth! I wanted a steak today though so no turkey! Ordered the bone in ribeyes and my mom got lamb chops. We got potatoes Brussels sprouts and cream spinach for sides. The steaks came out piping hot and cooked absolutely perfect. I order char medium rare and it is perfect. My moms lamb chops with so much flavor, i try them and almost regret the steak but then i go back to the steak and take it all back. They were on point with the meat quality and cooking them to perfection. I'll also say that the size and quantity is over the top. My steak was HUGE! The fat cap was so tender and the lean section juicy. My mom's plate had so much meat on it with multiple double bone chops it was amazing! The attendance was crowded but not over crowded, ambiance was happy thanksgiving families and great well kept dining room. No complaints there. Just a wholesome good time at a place I will surely keep on the list for thanksgiving.

Yelp
Oof. I really didn't want to write this review. My husband and I have been going to Ruth's Chris for our anniversary for years, and we've almost always loved it. We hadn't tried this location before, but since we were visiting family from out of state we figured we'd mix things up and finally make up for our missed anniversary dinner. Right when we walked in, we were surprised...it just didn't have the same upscale feel as the Portland location. The service was fine, but nothing memorable. For the first time ever at a Ruth's Chris, my filet had two chunks of fat--not the melt-in-your-mouth kind, but the chewy, gag-worthy kind. We didn't send it back (even though we probably should have), and that's saying something because we pretty much always order the same thing and know exactly what to expect. What we did send back... also a first, was the Lobster Mac & Cheese. The lobster tasted fishy and oddly chewy, like it had been sitting for a while, and the pasta itself just wasn't seasoned well. They remade it without the lobster, but the replacement tasted like plain, under-seasoned butter sauce. Definitely not the creamy, decadent dish we've had so many times before. Our server was okay, but we felt a bit rushed. He mentioned that they normally gift cheesecake for anniversaries, but since they had leftover pumpkin cheesecake from the holiday, that's what we were given. My husband hates anything pumpkin-flavored, but we didn't complain since it was a complimentary dessert to share. It all looked good but it didn't hit the mark this time.

Yelp
I had one of the most blatantly discriminatory experiences I've ever had at a restaurant, and it happened tonight at Ruth's Chris. I came in after work wearing my medical scrubs -- something I've done many times before. As a physician, I often stop in after a long day, and never once has anyone mentioned a dress code or restricted where I could sit. I have always been seated in the main dining area without issue. Tonight, the hostess told me to "wait a minute." After several minutes, she returned and informed me that I was not allowed to sit in the main dining room and would have to sit in the bar instead. When I asked why, she suddenly cited a dress code -- a dress code that has never been enforced before and one I was completely unaware of. Meanwhile, as we were walking in, I watched a couple leaving the main dining area where the woman was wearing denim, a white shirt, and sandals -- something that clearly violates their so-called dress code more than medical scrubs worn by a professional coming off a shift. The only thing that was different about tonight? I brought my nanny with me. The contrast was obvious: They selectively enforced a "dress code" only on us. It wasn't about attire -- it was about appearance and assumptions. Being told out of nowhere that I wasn't "allowed" in the main dining room, after years of being welcomed, was humiliating, inconsistent, and deeply discriminatory. If Ruth's Chris is comfortable hiding discriminatory behavior behind a conveniently sudden dress-code excuse, then this is not a place that respects all of its guests. I won't be returning, and I hope management takes this incident seriously.

Yelp
First time here for our anniversary, the meat was made to order but the sides are a bit bland. It is so quiet that you can hear everyone's conversation. The lighting was so dark in the booths. It feels a bit odd like I'm sneaking away from the kids to eat in the dark on my bed. The lobster was overcooked and rubbery but the crab cakes were good, more crab than cake. Soup and salad nothing special. I would hope that the plating would be a little nicer and neater. Not IG worth pics. If I feel like burning my man's wallet a little, I'll come back to try the tomahawk.

Yelp
My friend and I had reservations at 6pm on a week night for a party of two. The hostess that greeted us was friendly. We were asked to sit just for a moment while she got our table together, although we arrived on time and the dining room was almost completely empty. We were sat at a dimly lit booth and were immediately greeted by the busser who asked our water preference. Our server who took our drink and food orders was quite polite and suggested a couple appetizer recommendations, which we obliged. My friend and I both ordered petite filets & way too many sides as the portions are large. She ended up taking most of the ordered items to-go. Ruth's Chris is a decent chain restaurant and there's nothing terribly spectacular about the establishment, but I do enjoy that the food remains consistent.

Yelp
This is my second time here. Christian served our party of 7. The front reception was super quick and assertive. I forgot her name but she was super professional. The entire team was great. The vibe was slightly busy for a Monday night. It's moody and dark in there. A perfect place for a group or a date night. The bar area is even nice too. The food was good. They ran out of tomahawk steaks and I was so excited to get my birthday steak. I ended up getting a cowboy ribeye. I'm disappointed that they ran out. I ordered it but they came back a few minutes later to let me know. The sides are good. We had Brussel sprouts, calamari, tuna, and potatoes, and asparagus. All of them are good. This place is super good. Very consistent. The cowboy ribeye was good, not too fatty and full of flavor. Daou wine is their staple here. Pairs well with any steak here. Overall, I'm coming back. Just wish they would've advised earlier about that tomahawk. Staff is great! Good job team! My colleagues had a very smooth experience.

Yelp
We've been coming to Ruth's Chris for special occasions for many years. Unfortunately the quality of the food and service does not seem to be as good as before. Portions are smaller but prices have gone up. There used to be a dedicated server's assistant for each server to help with things like refills and packaging leftovers. We went for Thanksgiving and the hostesses did not seem to know what they were doing. We had a reservation but everyone that came around the same time and after us were all seated before us with no updates. We had to ask multiple times but they didn't check our specific reservation or seem to know our request details. One of them interrupted and rudely cut us off as we were talking to another hostess. The restaurant appears to have been updated however the already limited seating in the small waiting area has been further reduced with hardly any room for guests to wait.

Yelp
If you're craving a top-tier steakhouse experience, look no further than Ruth's. Known for its perfectly aged, hand-cut steaks, sizzling with flavor and grilled to perfection, this spot is a meat lover's paradise. My favorite is a ribeye, it's worth every penny of the $68. Pair your steak with rich, buttery mashed potatoes and a house salad, or a bold red wine from their extensive selection. With an upscale yet inviting atmosphere and impeccable service, Ruth's Chris delivers an unforgettable dining experience that's worth every bite. Make sure to order a sweet potato casserole. There should be an option for 10 stars!

Yelp
Came here to celebrate a birthday dinner for my bf's birthday. (We've come countless times before) We did not have a reservation upon arrival at 8:45/9pm but we were seated in about 10 mins. Dining room was pretty empty as was the bar but we didn't mind it. Served was Everick and he was very nice and gave good recommendations. Bread and drinks came out pretty timely. Food ordered *Spicy shrimp 3.5/5 *Stuffed Chicken 3.5/5 *Lobster Mac 2/5 *Sweet potato casserole 4/5 *Honey Citrus Martini (tequila) 4/5 *Cran/tequila cocktail We were treated to a complimentary cheesecake but no birthday picture was offered. We can last year and received it so maybe it changed but dinner was ok. Overall dinner was ok. Paid around $170 (not including tip)

Yelp
Came here last minute with work colleague around 8:30, we sat in the bar and had it to ourselves for the first 45 min! Im not a big steak person, so I went with the fish, per the bartenders recommendation. And OMG it did not disappoint! I was laughing since my dad always says, "Never get fish at a steak house!" Well dad, you are wrong!! The GARLIC CRUSTED SEA BASS* was incredible!! It's panko garlic crusted, and drenched in lemon butter-served on a bed of greens! I was told originally they had sold out of it, but then the chef came out to let me know they still had 1 left. AMEN! I paired the fish with a nice Willamette Valley Pinot. I also tried the shrimp app-shrimp app was ok. I left with a full belly and gave my leftovers to my colleague who had it the next day and he said it was still incredible! I will be back again soon Ruth Chris!

Yelp
Wanting a good "adult" meal, we realized there was a Ruth's Chris close to our location. No reservation, we decided to give it a go. We've had mixed experiences at the Ruth's Chris in Seattle and Bellevue Wa, so we were a bit dubious of the experience we would have in Fresno. How wrong we would be. It was quiet, so they were able to quickly seat us. The wait staff( Hailey ) was nothing short of amazing. Wanting a nice meal, but not ready for a huge meal, we decided to split the Prix Fixe option. We upgraded the meal with the 16oz Ribeye and optioned for the Lobster. We split the Caesar's Salad and chose the Creamier Spinach. We ordered a side of Mashed Potatoes. We had hardly ordered when the salads appeared. They were flavorful with lots of shaved Parmesan. We were 1/2 through our salads when the main course arrived ! Talk about fast! I love how the steaks are served on a sizzling platter. Since we're sharing a meal, they brought to dinner plates, also sizzling hot. Nice touch. The Ribeyes were cooked to perfection. Rich in flavor with a perfect texture. The Lobster was firm and flavorful but then again what isn't when dipped in warm butter. The potatoes and spinach were as good as any we can remember. Perfection. We finished the evening with the cheesecake. Firm with the right balance of dry and moist. This would challenge any Cheesecake you would get in NYC. What a perfect ending to a long day. Everything was exactly as we hoped. Well done Ruth's Chris, well done.

Yelp
First timers, attended a wedding reception at this place, didn't get to enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant, their banquet room is an enclosed box, alcoholic beverages took forever to get, filet mignon was great, all sides where mediocre, I'm sure it's the same food being served in the main dining area, here's the kicker, I've never had cheesecake that you had to sprinkle a Splenda or sugar packet on top of it. Honestly Save Mart sells a better cheesecake. Would I return as a paying customer, probably not. Would I recommend this place as a venue to hold a celebration, after what my buddy said it costs, there is better places out here in Fresno for ambiance and food.

Yelp
I had the filet mignon here and it was very good. Had great flavor and very tender. The service was great as well as the setting.

Yelp
I ordered the Bone-In New York Steak (Medium Rare +) and it did not disappoint. We also loved the spicy shrimp appetizer, and they have a very good wine collection as well. I rate this place a 7-out-10. Yes, the steaks are good, but it is pricey and I have a hard time believing that the substantial extra expense is worth it solely because of beef quality.

Yelp
Had thanksgiving with our family here today. Traditional turkey dinner was excellent. I Had one of the best steaks tonight I've had in a long time the wait staff were awesome. Overall five stars.

Yelp
Reservations: Easy to make. We decided to eat here for our 10 year wedding anniversary and 16 years of being together. I originally wanted to go to The Elderberry House (A dream of mine), but our cat passed and we had to get her cremated so we opted for a staycation instead. Ambiance: Casual. I was overdressed. I ordered a more simple dress. It had a stain so I returned it and had this dress in my closet for back up. Service: We arrived early at 6pm and missed happy hour, but too early for our 6:30pm Reservations. They sat us promptly at 6:30. Our waiter, Evan was extremely attentive. Our table was decorated which made me happy. Food- Cost with tip $240 (I accidentally ordered an $8 still water because I thought they didn't have tap water.) Bread and butter- Okay. The best bread and butter I ever had was from Tony Romas at Universal walk and I haven't found anything that compares to that bread and butter. It was so good, I was literally eating the butter on its own. Lol. Sidecar- It was a suggestion by the waiter. Way too strong for my liking. I should have just stuck with my tried and true, margarita. However, perfect for someone who likes a strong drink. My husband loved it and finished it for me so it was not wasted. My husband ordered the filet with a side of cremini mushrooms. Perfectly medium rare. I got the Ruth's Classic with the 6 oz steak and shrimp with a ceasar salad and garlic mashed potatoes. Steak- Good, it had a nice pink middle. I do not like steak well done so I'm glad it was cooked correctly. It came out sizzling hot. Ceasar salad- This Ceasars salad was absolutely delicious. It's my favorite salad and I finished every bite. Garlic Mashed Potatoes- I had to remind the person bringing out my food about the garlic mashed potatoes which came out later than my salad and steak. It was a little bland. I couldn't taste the garlic. I had to use my husband's gravy from his mushrooms to give it a little flavor. That's where the one star is lost for me. Dessert- Anniversary Cheesecake- No complaints here. Would be back, especially for their Happy Hour.

Yelp
The server was nice. With reservation, sat 30 minutes late. BBQ salmon and shrimp was nearly tasteless. Two people ordered it at the table and neither ate more than half because it wasn't tasty. The three shrimp were tiny! It was plopped on the plate with no regard for presentation whatsoever. You'd think that you'd get some passaz for $45! As usual, the steak was good. I've been here many times over the years and I keep giving it "another shot". But honestly, it's gone downhill. After today, I wonder when the out of business sign is going up. It's not the same place that it once was.

Yelp
This is our favorite spot, we have dinner here all the time .. but today we ordered 2 sweet potato casseroles to go because it's our favorite & this is what we got :( very disappointing. I guess you have to eat here to get the full amazing service

Yelp
To be completely honest, this Ruth's Chris has fallen well short of what I would expect from a Prime steak house. I had not been to this restaurant in 5 or so years, but I wanted a great steak, with a great drink and some wine, so I took a chance. My gamble did NOT pay off. The specialty drink that was offered was a take on a paper plane (a drink I have had many times before) and what I was served was a peach sugar bomb. I then decided to go with a classic standby - Woodford Manhattan - I was served mostly Vermouth over a LOT of ice - like it was a soda I had just ordered. The bread was nothing to even notice as it came out, and the butter barely had any flavor. Wedge salad was "okay" and my steak and stuffed shrimp were the same. And then to finish off the bar issues, I ordered a very good glass of wine while enjoying my bread, but it did not arrive until my steak was already gone. The ONLY saving grace was the crème brûlée that came for dessert. If this was your local roadhouse / local steakhouse, my review would have been different - but this is RUTH'S CHRIS!!! The server was amazing and very attentive and apologetic, so he gets at A+, as it's not his fault that the kitchen and the bar failed him. I'm headed to Flemings to see if they are any better, but will NOT return here unless someone else is paying, and then still may not...
google avatar

Terry C.

Yelp
Overpriced & underwhelmed. I'm from Chicago & we know steak. Don't put butter on a good steak!!! Try the Best Gibsons better & attentive service. I have been twice & in Chicago - hardly finish a cocktail or appetizer & the steak was served way too quickly. Servers have a snooty attitude resembling it is a privilege to be served by the wait staff. Sorry Gibsons is a great Chicago restaurant - wish they were here. Flemings, Manhattan & Max's better in all ways!! So Ruth Chris - Meh at best

Yelp
Unfortunately it seems like this establishment is declining. Our visit on 4/12/25 was significantly different than our previous experience in 2019 which would easily be 5 stars. This is possibly due to their acquisition by the people that own Olive Garden. While it looks the same at first the service and "fanciness" has declined. There is no longer a dress code apparently since people were there in shorts, flip flops, etc. We got drinks at the bar, were seated within 10 minutes of our reservation, and greeted to a nice "happy anniversary"...so far so good. It took a bit to get our food order in. Then 20 minutes passed, 30 minutes, 40 minutes, and we noticed 2 couples that came in after us had gotten their food. Our server, Everick (who was great) said three more minutes on food. 5 minutes passed, 10 minutes passed, and finally after about an hour our food came out. They did comp our drinks for the wait which was nice. We also noticed the person that comes by and cleans off your table and removes the bread crumbs with the little sweeper like last time was apparently not a position anymore. Overall, the restaurant was louder and not as "professional" as before. When getting ready to leave we were informed that our gift card couldn't be used because the machine was experiencing a problem so we had to pay the full amount and come back. Overall it just seems like it's not as nice of a place for a meal that cost $184 (not including the drinks they removed).

Yelp
Amazing food in a nice ambiance. The service is always great here - Gabe the manager is a class act & took excellent care of us.

Yelp
I made a reservation a day in advance for an anniversary dinner with my partner. I put my information down and got a call the following day to confirm the reservations to which they asked if it was for an anniversary, which I said yes. When we arrived, they saw me and my partner walk in and said it would be a few minutes. We got sat by the host, who was pleasant, and when we opened our menus, we saw it say "Happy anniversary Mr and Mrs. _____". We are lesbians. Two girls..... unmarried. I was so embarrassed because I was trying to surprise my partner and they completely messed it up. They had every opportunity to fix this problem when we walked in and they saw two girls for an anniversary. I understand the gesture, but it could've simply said "Happy Anniversary". To top it off, the food was not good, and one of our orders of mashed potato's was forgotten about until we mentioned it was missing. Also the water cups smelt like a fish tank. Unimpressed and frankly disappointed in our experience. It is 2025... we should be confirming things like this or at least keeping things a bit more gender neutral unless you confirm specifics ahead of time. Only nice thing about our experience was the waitress Crystal, she was a joy.

Yelp
Gone WAY downhill. Went to Fleming's this month - AMAZING!!! Ruth Chris tonight - TERRIBLE. Just a few notes: -Food was an hour late -Couldn't find any staff to ask about it -Finally manager came by and said, your food is on the way, but then we waited another 15 minutes for food and no one checked on us -After the hour, one steak came out cold because they cooked it much earlier -Then waited another 10 mins for check After waiting an hour for cold food, they didn't reduce our check or give us anything for free. The staff also never apologized. The manager could so easily have turned this around by doing something nice for us (here's a free soda, how about a free desert) and kept us as happy customers, but they ignored it. Go to Fleming's. So sad this went downhill.

Yelp
I apologize for the delay in posting this review. I've been super busy flying my plane in from Florida. On Father's Day, we made reservations at Ruth's Chris, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience! The manager, Courtney, made things right. She went above and beyond to ensure our visit was memorable. Courtney introduced herself and made everyone feel exceptionally welcomed. Her attention to detail and genuine care truly made a difference. The food was outstanding, and the service was impeccable. Every aspect of our dining experience was top-notch. Thank you so much for turning things around and providing such a wonderful experience. I am deeply appreciative of the effort and dedication shown by the team at Ruth's Chris. Sorry I don't have any pics but I have some favs of my dad and I so I decided to add them to this post!

Yelp
The staff and manager were both very nice. The manager comped the baked potato and other sides after he heard about our experience. We had a party of 12 and the restaurant was EMPTY besides one other large party in the back. 1. Bread was not given to the table until apps came out and we asked for it. 2. 1 person at the table didn't get their steak until 10 minutes after everyone else was already given their meals. 3. They forgot lobster Mac and cheese side - brought it to the table after everyone was done with their meal 4. They forgot the baked potato side - same here, brought it to the table after everyone was done with their meal 5. We didn't receive regular water refills until asked 6. I got up to go get the manager because we couldn't find anyone for the bill - it took 15 minutes to get the bill and I had to ask again. Overall, food was good but the level of service is subpar for a "fancy" restaurant.

Yelp
I love Ruth Chris happy hour and go often. We just went for my birthday and I was so disappointed with their menu changes. Everything has changed, including the cocktails, and the menu is very small now. The only beer they had on happy hour was Budweiser - who does that? Especially a nice restaurant like Ruth Chris! I guess I have to search for a a new happy hour favorite.

Yelp
This was our first time, our server was Alex, he was friendly and went over everything with us and even made some suggestions. He checked on us frequently and ensured we enjoyed our visit. We had the goat cheese appetizer which was amazing. Then ordered the bone in filet, lobster Mac and Brussels. All which were cooked to perfection. Had a great experience, everything was so nice and clean. Definitely not going to be my last time.

Yelp
We came here for my birthday. It was a tough decision between Ruth Chris, and the competitors steakhouses ( Fleming, Saizon, Prime rib, etc). I Would Describe my experience as underwhelming and dissatisfactory. The positive of this visit was that the birthday cake was a nice addition, although tasted very average. The server was nice and attentive, which was appreciated, and The interior was dimly lit and classy. However, the restaurant was empty which gave an eerie vibe. The greatest disappointment was in the food. For the prices they charged, I expected top notch quality, and Something crazy delicious that I would Gasp, but unfortunately, it didn't meet expectations. The dessert menu was very limited, and the drinks were expensive as well, $17-$19 on average . The cost simply wasn't worth it. Overall the ambiance and service were great, but the food quality was just not worth the price.

Yelp
AMAZING experience! My husband and I decided to have a week night date and chose Ruth's Chris. It was a gamble for us to try something new but so glad we went. I had the stuffed chicken and garlic mashed potatoes. The chicken was so tender and tasty! After dinner I had their cheese cake and cappuccino... the flavors were INCREDIBLE, and the service was equally incredible. I loved the atmosphere of dim lights, good jazz music, and a great vibe. The food is pricey, but worth every dollar. I highly recommend trying Ruth's Chris at least once just for the our experience of it. We will definitely be going back!

Yelp
Hey guys! I just dropped a review on the cheesecake from Ruth's Chris--and let me tell you, it was delicious! Super rich, thick, and oh-so-decadent. If you're a cheesecake lover like the ladies on The Golden Girls, this one's a must-try. Head over to my YouTube channel, Taste & Tease with Tonie, to check out the full review. Don't forget to like, subscribe, and stay tuned for more sweet treats coming your way!

Yelp
Food has always been excellent here and there was no exception on this very night. My husband and our friends went during the week. We don't come often because the price. Usually it's quite busy but on this night, it was empty in the dining area. The bar was full. I noticed that the staff wasn't what I was used to seeing. An example, the last time I went, mind you it had been a year or two prior, the wait staff were young, very good looking people and very well groomed. On this night, they weren't so well groomed they didn't smile and they kind of had attitude with us. The people that I did see at the bar looked to be 50 years old or older. Has the hype died down on this place? I felt it was too expensive for the atmosphere and service I received.

Dariane S.

Yelp
The hostesses Melody and Caitlin were rude and unprofessional by only acknowledging the other person I came with. Juan, who also lacked professionalism, stopped by to check in on every table other than ours, intentionally skipping over us and only walking over after he reluctantly made eye contact. The server and bussers were nice, and the food was good but not worth the poor service. This was the worst Ruth's Chris I've been to. I was trying to show my girlfriend how nice it was, but the experience left a sour taste in her mouth.

Yelp
This week I went to Ruth's for the first time. And my take away is that this restaurant is very overpriced for okay food quality. We ordered an ample amount of dishes: Stuffed mushrooms Calamari Wedge Multiple Filets Ribeye And more ... The best appetizer was the calamari. It was colorful and looked appealing on the plate. I think that was only because the red peppers contrasted the calamari. Everything else was simply underwhelming. The plates are just thick outdated basic plateware. There are no garnishes for the side dishes to finish them off. And the steaks were just chunks of meat on tiny plates searing hot with juice on the bottom that looked dirty. And our bill was $500! For that price the plating should be thoughtful and make the dishes look irresistible. For $500 I can go to an up and coming Michelin star restaurant and be amazed. For less than $500 I can have a private chef prepare a beautifully plated dinner by candle light with a delicious custom seasonally fresh menu. The side dish choices were average, the AI Gratin potatoes were undercooked. The Lobster Mac was just fine with t e lobster being a bit dry and too pricy to get any real flavor. Dessert choices felt like the basic 5 from any restaurant and the creme brulee was just fine. Overall Ruth's felt outdated and basic, from the decor to the taste. And that price tag included only ONE non alcoholic blended drink. No spirits or even soda. The only detail given was to the leftover steak that was packaged like it was needing to be weathere proofed. It was wrapped in 3 pieces of foil and concealed in a foil lined bag. I'd rather the focus be on my meal and dining experience, not on packaging.

Yelp
Below average food. Average staff. Quiet atmosphere. Above average cost per quality. Specifically; coffee was old, desserts were on the chilled side, tomahawk was over cooked, sides were extra el dente. Zero accommodations made for a spoiled meal of 5.

Yelp
My husband and I visited Ruth's Chris after being given a gift card for the establishment. We had never been before, and knew nothing except that the gift card probably wasn't going to cover our meal! From the moment we walked through the door, we were met with excellent service and friendly staff. The ambiance was second to none, and the tables were crisply set for guests. Candles lit each table and we were led to a quiet booth. Our server, Evan, was the epitome of grace and professionalism. His good humor, kind comments, and helpfulness got us through our ordering without any hitches. We both chose to have what is called "Ruth's Classics" which is a prix fix menu. We chose a salad, steak, (and shrimp for me; my spouse had lobster with his), with creamy spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. For dessert, we each had mini cheesecakes that were the perfect size and served with fresh berries. The bleu cheese dressing on the salad was creamy and rich. The salad itself was crisp and chilled. It was a lovely way to start the meal. Our steaks were perfect, and the buttery sauce was dreamy. My three shrimp were entwined atop the fillet mignon, and the sides were served in little tureens. We both enjoyed the meal to the max. I felt indulged and appreciated as a guest at Ruth's Chris. The evening was perfect. I can't remember having a nicer meal than this one. Self-indulgence might be a virtue after all. And heck. I'm seventy years old so I deserve a fling now and then!

Yelp
Very disappointed in the quality of food. I'm not much of a steak eater, but my husband is. That said, there isn't a lot to chose from other than steak, so I rely on the appetizers and sides. Last time I was here I had the spicy shrimp appetizer and it was good, but I wanted to try something new, so I ordered the barbeque shrimp. Very bland. Next the lobster bisque. Very very bland, no lobster, and a weird unpleasant flavor to boot. The brussels sprouts were just that. Nothing out of the ordinary that you would expect for the outrageous prices they charge. The potatoes au gratin were just bad and with the same weird flavor used in the soup. The wine: I asked for the big pour. What they gave me was what I consider a small pour. They charged 19 dollars a glass for that. The steak, which I tried, was nothing mouth watering either. Since we shared the same dishes, my husband's opinion was the same as mine. Blah. What I did like was the plates were so hot that the food sizzled when food served on them. On a scale of 1 to 5, I rate the following. Lobster bisque a 1. Shrimp a 1. Brussels sprouts a 2. Potatoes au gratin a 1. Steak a 3. Prices a 1. Service a 4. I wish I could say there was at least one thing that tasted really good, but alas, there was not. I have never been to a restaurant of any kind that struck out on all the dishes. I won't be coming back.

Love the food and service!! The crab stuffed mushrooms are my favorite. Great drinks too.

Yelp
First review ever. Last night I had dinner at Ruth Chris's with my husband. Service and food were wonderful. So happy to find a restaurant that pleases both of us. A high point of the Service was that both the Filet Mignon and the Baked Potato were served on hot plates not to touch. Lanier Brazile, the general manager, was gracious and remembered us from a previous occasion. We will return on a regular basis for a truly auspicious experience...

Yelp
I have been coming to this location for years for special events and celebrations. I've had many business lunches and dinners here, and feel like I'm pretty well-informed to the menu and layout of the restaurant. Unfortunately, this place just isn't as good as it used to be before the pandemic. Let's talk ambience. Nice tables, clean linens, good decor. No complaints here. The biggest problem That I have with this place occurs when I bring anyone with me over. Every single guest has complained to me that the restaurant is to dark and they can't read the menu. Most of them either asked me to read the menu to them or pull out their phone to use their flashlight. Let's talk service. The waiters and waitresses are great here. Everyone that ever helped me has had a great personality, has been overly friendly, and has served me with respect and kind words. I enjoy tipping large, and with service like this, it's easy to do so. Food quality. Everything is exactly what it claims to be on the menu. I go back-and-forth between having a New York strip, and a fillet with lobster on the side. I know this place is usually known for steaks, but I actually enjoy their seafood much better. My last few times hear the cooks have had trouble cooking my steak to the right temperature you ordered before you start eating. i'm a huge fan of the scallop potatoes, and the brussels sprouts are delicious. If you like cream corn, do you have a hard time finding one better than what's served here. So most of my negatives are basically because I've eaten here so many times throughout the years. Well this place isn't what it used to be, it's still a pretty good restaurants and honestly a great place to celebrations. Oh, and if you like desserts, make sure you order the cheesecake. It's incredible and enough to share for two people if you're not ravenous cheesecake

Yelp
Ruth Chris is a great Steakhouse ! If you plan to go... make reservations. They have a happy hour in the bar area... that's pretty good! The service is top notch. The manager even goes around checking on everyone and even out serving food. The ambiance is nice, romantic, chill, and quiet. Very laid back but very nice. Ordered a raspberry cosmo.... So good! Perfect amount of sweetness and raspberry; without being overpowering. We ordered spicy shrimp as an appetizer; so good. I see why everybody orders this. I could of eaten a few plates of this appetizer by myself. High recommended!! My other half and I both ordered 6oz filets with lobster tails; so hot and cooked just the way we like. Steak is tender; lobster tail melts in your mouth. We were in heaven. Tore up our plates! The mashed potatoes were creamy too. We also got chef's special for dessert; cheesecake; perfect size; creamy; not too heavy; refreshing with fresh berries on the side. Restrooms are very clean!

Yelp
First Class! Lovely setting. We had filet, N.Y., sea bass, shrimp, calamari, creamed spinach, cocktails, and desserts. Meats and seafood were perfectly cooked. Everything was beautifully prepared, but I prefer calamari crispy, rather than w/ the "wet veggies" they pour on. Server Brandon was exceptional--personable and knowledgeable. Bartender Nikala was great too. Not inexpensive, but worth every dollar. Thank you for a memorable birthday celebration!

Yelp
The ambiance was great. Serving staff was very nice. Food was hot and tasteless for the most part . We ordered steaks that had no flavor , for the price that we paid I should not have to add salt and a lot of it. The soup was good but used better as a gravy because that was overly flavored like it was straight out of the packet with rubber cheese in top. I tried to like it. And saved it for my mashed potatoes ( no deal!). Our food took forever to come out and it was freezing cold in the restaurant. Fine dining experience it was not. I should have just went to 13 prime and gave the balance in a tip to the staff. This place is totally overrated.
