Thousands Sign Petition Demanding Ruth’s Chris Give Back PPP Loan | Eater

"A national steakhouse chain received $20 million in PPP loans after applying through two subsidiaries, prompting widespread criticism and calls for repayment; one online petition demanding the money be returned has gathered over 200,000 signatures and another nearly 8,000. Critics describe the move as a travesty and an instance of corporate greed during a crisis, while government officials note that such applications followed program guidance that treated individual locations separately." - Jaya Saxena

Shake Shack Returns $10 Million Small Business Loan After Facing Criticism | Eater

"A 140-location steakhouse chain received $20 million in PPP funding by applying through two subsidiaries, exceeding the usual $10 million cap per application, which drew scrutiny. Critics highlighted executive compensation as a potential pathway to loan forgiveness — the current CEO earned $6.1 million in 2018 and the former CEO still receives about $500,000 annually — and observers have speculated that large executive payrolls make it easier for corporate chains to meet forgiveness rules. The loans were administered through major banks, illustrating how pre-existing banking relationships helped larger operators access program funds." - Caleb Pershan

Had an amazing time at Ruth Chris for my sister's bridal party. The waiter, Bryan, was very attentive. The stuffed chicken was cooked to perfection. I normally get the mashed potatoes but decided to try the au gratin potatoes, which were a great choice. The sweet potato casserole was okay. The Pomegranate Martini was strong, so all I needed was one.

Amazing Food and Outstanding Service! We absolutely loved everything! The food was delicious, the reception was warm, and the service was top-notch. Derrick was superb—he gave us such a great welcome and took excellent care of us throughout. If I could give it a 10, I definitely would. We’ll absolutely be coming back again!

Google
This was my first experience with Ruth's Chris and I came away impressed with the service. Melissa was exceptional while the food was only above average. The prices on the menu set my expectations quite high but only delivered a moderately better experience than say longhorn or outback. I will be going back but probably won't be a regular.

Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Greensboro offers excellent service and delicious, perfectly cooked food. We enjoyed our Christmas dinner with attentive, cordial staff and a refined yet comfortable atmosphere—elegant but not too quiet. The experience was amazing, and I highly recommend it.

Google
I’d love to rate the food—but we never got any. As a Chef overseeing five restaurants, I’ve never experienced such poor hospitality. We had a reservation, were seated immediately, and then completely forgotten. Three different managers walked by. One gave us water. Another promised bread but returned more focused on seating new guests with a tablet than ensuring anyone at a table was actually being served. The third didn’t acknowledge us at all—just focused on clearing tables to seat more guests. We sat there for 15 minutes. Several servers, managers, and service assistants passed by. Not one stopped, not one word, not even eye contact. In fine dining—especially an upscale brand like Ruth’s Chris—reservations should be paced to ensure quality service. But they clearly prioritized large parties over 2-tops, chasing covers instead of delivering experiences. Honestly, I’ve never had a good experience at this location. Years ago, they hired me as their Chef. I waited over 20 minutes past my scheduled orientation time without acknowledgment before walking out. That moment and this one made it clear: Ruth’s Chris isn’t for me.

Google
Hands down best steak I’ve ever had in my 48 years! Sides and service were a perfect match! Been hearing about this place for years and finally decided to try it tonight to celebrate our anniversary! Hate I waited so long and I WILL be back! Our server was Derrick and he was top notch start to finish!

Yelp
We stopped in for a quick date. Our service was incredible! I was impressed with the attentiveness of the staff and their ability to meet our needs, sometimes before we even asked. I got the Ruth's classic--a starter, steak & lobster, side, and dessert. I loved the Caesar Salad and would recommend it to anyone. I'm not huge on heavy Caesar dressings and this one was perfect. The salad portion was big and a wonderful start to my meal. My steak was good but not great. The temperature was good in the middle but because it wasn't the same thickness throughout the ends were too done. I also felt it was underseasoned. The lobster was perfect with or without the butter. I got garlic mashed potatoes as my side and they were delicious! For dessert, I had a mini cheesecake. My husband got the lamb chops and they were so good. They were thick and a large portion. He thought they were great! This place is perfect for a date night!

Yelp
The food is always amazing and the service is impeccable! The atmosphere is relaxing and very inviting. I'd recommend visiting a location near you.

Yelp
They really do make flavorful steaks. First time ever both our steaks were the wrong temp. I think the waitress got them backwards. Sweet potato casserole, lobster mac and cheese, and crab cakes were amazing. I do believe the crab cakes are a better appetizer than other local restaurants. The tuna appetizer was good, but Chop House still has the best one. The creme brulee wasn't totally set, almost watery - flavor was good. It is still a great place for a quiet dinner. The window tables are a bit close together when they are all being used, my husband was "knocked" by the gentleman behind him several times.

Yelp
I came here to celebrate my birthday last minute. Wanted a good steak but hate the service here!!!!! My server tonight , Kaiyana (sorry for misspelling) was AMAZING!!!! For the first time , I had GREAT service . She was very attentive and catered to my needs. Thank you!!! Your awesome!!

Yelp
Literally my happy place, I have been several times. Not sure why I haven't left a review! Service is always point! I love sitting in the bar for happy hour if it's a spontaneous dinner. You can never go wrong with Ruth Chris . Everything on the menu is a hit my favorite is the stuffed chicken well done and creamed spinach ! I also enjoy the ahi tuna and artichoke dip. The bbq shrimp again you can't go wrong with anything! My favorite drink is the pomegranate Martini! They have happy hour from 4-8pm in the bar and that's a great time to try new apps, especially the zucchini fries I believe they are a bar only appetizer! Ambiance is nice from date night to any celebration but I love to go just because. If you're thinking about it just go and treat yourself!

Yelp
Ruth's still has some of the best steak in town! I ordered the ribeye medium, Oscar style. I'll have to order it medium rare plus the next time since the steak continues to cook on their 500 degree plates. It ended being medium well but still amazing! I also ordered the blueberry mojito as well as their pomegranate martini. Both drinks were excellent! Our server was very kind and made the special request for my sautéed spinach instead of the creamed spinach that's on the menu. The restaurant always has an elegant and romantic feel to it with wonderful photo opportunities. The staff was nice enough to take a group picture of my friends and I which is always appreciated. I can't wait for the next time to come back and treat myself!

Yelp
Not the place you go for a quick bite. But the do advertise a burger special. We always make reservations, and we never leave hungry. You can get a thick steak that weighs 44 ozs. But my husband and I usually split one. Great bread service, and salads, sides and of course the steaks! Not too long ago you could only order ala carte. Only the bread came with your entrée. Now, they have a section just for complete meals. But you'll still find diners leaving with large shopping bags with their leftovers. The dessert menu looks amazing. But I rarely get that far. Between the signature cocktails, and the main course, I'm usually all set. It's elegant, yet casual. Great for a romantic dinner, or a business lunch. You'll never be disappointed!

Yelp
2 ate for $211 including appetizer and before tip. Service, ambiance, all superb. Extremely nice, unrushed and fresh. The steaks were as expected, perfect. The Crab Cake appetizer was 90% meat and was delicious. The Ceasar was large and flavorful. It was a celebratory meal and the the staff complimented the celebration well.

Yelp
Ruth's Chris is widely known for quality food so I don't think there's any surprise that I'm giving a 5-star here. The food is excellent and the service was exceptionally friendly, all as expected. This isn't the type of place we frequent but every so often we want to go here and are never disappointed. They have a short happy hour in the bar which doesn't include drinks due to NC law but does include many nice menu items - this is when we normally come, both for a drink and a bit of savings.

Yelp
I've been to many Ruth Chris Steak Houses around the globe during work travels but had never been here for personal dining. I had a gift card but hesitated to use it on the greensboro location because of the restaurant being in an office building. That just seemed to lose some of the ambiance. But it was our anniversary and I was tired of looking at the unused gift card so I made a reservation. Wow, I can't wait to go back. Everyone in the restaurant acknowledged our anniversary including nearby guests. The ambiance was ok hence the one removed star. It wasn't quite the same level as other locations but it was still nice. Now let's talk about the food. We got the chopped salad which was amazing!!! I could have stopped right after that. The dressing was perfection. It was lemon basil. We both loved the salad. I got a small filet which had the most delicious and tasty clarified butter on it. The butter along with the sizzling plate and melt in your mouth steak was quite the combo. They let me order French fries and they were the best I've had in a very long time and I'm a fry snob. I appreciate them allowing me to get that. I hope to save some $$ and go again soon. It's pricey but the quality isn't what you can get in a normal steak house chain.

Yelp
I'm not big on steakhouses because I don't eat steak but when I say I will be back to Ruth Chris to enjoy the stuffed chicken again I most definitely will. The place is definitely upscale so wear nice clothes. I thought it was going to be just chicken breast but I was surprised by the whole baby chicken coming to the table , if you haven't been please make a reservation and check them out!

Yelp
Great evening. We had reservations and were seated immediately. Our server, Deanna was knowledgeable and pleasant. Very attentive and made our night special. Her recommendations were perfect and communicated my Old Fashioned tweaks to the bartender for a delicious cocktail. The restaurant was full but didn't feel crowded, music levels and choices were great and the rest of the staff worked together well. We had 4 other employees visit our table for service and the bidder at the end had the best personality! Sorry I missed his name. We started with the Lobster Mac and Calimari, the. Lettuce wedges and finally with a steak, Ribeye, perfect medium, great seasoning and awesome char on the outside. The manager stopped by to check us and invited us back again. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Being from New Orleans I am quite familiar with Ruths Chris and since I was in Greensboro for a meeting and I wanted a good steak and I had not been to Ruths in a long time. I ordered the caesar salad which was good along with the ribeye and the stuffed mushrooms as the side. I like my steak Pittsburgh rare and I was sad to see that my steak was way over cooked. I didnt want nor have the time to send it back, it was medium at best which was edible. The stuffed mushrooms tasted frozen, were warm and not hot and very mid at best. This was nothing like the steak and sides I was used to in New Orleans sadly.

Yelp
*pescatarian leaving a review* Was here for a friend's birthday, and my husband and I are vegetarian - when at special places pescatarian and not SUUUUPER careful with chicken stock/etc, so do take this review with a grain of salt, as the one vegetarian option (a broccoli steak) looked vile on the 'pretty' online photo. Also excuse my one photo, had too much fun chatting with friends! This was GREAT! We got the goat cheese artichoke dip, lobster Mac (OMG), spicy shrimp, asparagus and mushrooms to split. We were so satisfied. The goat cheese artichoke dip needed some more bread with it: definitely didn't have enough to finish the dip at all. It was creamy and well seasoned. The lobster Mac was the star: lots of succulent lobster, a few different cheese and incredibly well flavored: a bite of sharp cheese into some juicy lobster and creamy mild cheese. Omg sign me up. The spicy shrimp was butterflied, well cooked and not over, and just enough to call it spicy. The veggies were great: asparagus was firm yet tender and not woody or floppy, and the mushrooms were to die for. (Definitely don't miss meat, but the prep with veal Demi-glaze is so incredibly umami-robust forward.) The hollandaise with the asparagus was just fine, nothing super special. Gotta knock a point off: I know it's a steakhouse AND it's 2023-have a veg option on the menu or have a server not look like 'eeeek I don't want to talk about this' when asked about the vegetarian options -it was on the menu as 'we have vegetarian options'. I promise parties come in! Make it rotating with veggies you're using! Service was fine, it's always a weird line with servers who involve themselves in a conversation and servers that are friendly. The decor is like time capsule 2000 but it's a steakhouse so they have that ambiance down pat. Think dark, old, and 'rich'.

Yelp
The servers were very friendly but half of our table never got our food. We had a party of 16 for my uncles 15th anniversary. Literally half of our table got their order and the other half sat here hungry. Currently still sitting at the table at 8:31pm est from our 6:30 reservation and still no food. My Pinot noir was delicious, and i wish i had food to go along with it. Update: We didn't leave until 9:47 pm because we had to wait over an hour for our bills. The craziest part is that the GM /manager WHOMEVER THAT MAN WAS never actually spoke to our table and said anything. I, myself, had to ask the host stand to speak with him. After speaking with him, all he could say 1000x was how sorry he was about the experience and still charged everyone who didn't get their food for over 30 minutes AFTER the first half got theirs for their meals.. just took some dollars off. I hated hated HATED this whole experience and if i wasn't so tired and ready to go i would've made an entire scene in this place. I can't believe it. After sleeping on it, i don't agree i should've paid for ANYTHING but my wine and the au gratin potatoes that went COLD waiting for my entree to arrive 33 minutes later. Never again. This was so shameful and i feel horrible for my uncle and aunt because Ruth Chris ruined their anniversary... thats all my uncle kept saying the remainder of the night. I hate that for them and for his guests who traveled 2+ hrs for it, including me. Waste of my time and gas. We could've went somewhere WAY better.

Yelp
Derrick was a fantastic server. He made our dinner experience for our party an amazing one

Yelp
Great food and good vibes. I love the ribeye steak. So flavorful and the sweet potato casserole is the best! I hosted my birthday dinner there this year and the service was amazing. 10/10 recommend.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants. The steak has my mouth watering and the sharing sides are great. Very elegant experience.

Yelp
I must say that I eat out way too much and I love good food!! This is my absolute favorite classy restaurant in Greensboro. I am never disappointed. It is expensive but worth every dime! The steak melts in your mouth! I'm a Ribeye girl (cooked medium) and my steak is always cooked perfectly. The sides are all delicious but my favorites are the Brussels (cooked with bacon and honey butter)and the Sweet Potato casserole (encrusted with a maple pecan brown sugar topping). The Caesar salad has shaved Parmesan and the best dressing. The lobster bisque is also amazing. The desserts are all delicious, I have literally tried them all. I am their biggest fan! Pictures are from Valentine's Day. I'm there every celebraholiday!

Yelp
The cowboy ribeye with the lobster Mac & cheese plus the crab cakes = chef's kiss!! I'm not even a big steak eater, but this steak was amazing. It was seasoned with salt, pepper and garlic butter and it was worth every dime paid! Our waiter was nice, patient and knowledgeable about the menu. I was torn between the steak or stuffed chicken breast & he was a big help with making a decision & he did not stir us wrong. Complimentary bread and butter taste great & the ambiance was nice, lowkey with dim lights. Seemed kind of small and and seating was a little close but the experience was nice. Still amazed at how big the steak was, even after splitting it into two.

Joannie W.

Yelp
Great experience! First time experience . We went for a birthday celebration and they went over the top by placing flower petals in the table and giving us complimentary desserts. Beautiful atmosphere. Pricy but well worth it. Probably only eat there once or twice a year but it's worth it. Staff food atmosphere location all on point.

Yelp
Food is decent. Last time i went, i didn't get exactly what i ordered, but the waiter took off the extra since i didn't get it. the amount of food for the price is a little ehh. the staff overall was nice, but our waiter did seem to be a little agitated and didn't really come back to check on us that much

Yelp
Very good dinner for the most part. Ruth Chris is what you hear and know it to be and that's emphasis on fine dining and a memorable steak. The service was great overall. Our server Kaylee was very attentive even while attending to other tables AND busting/placing new tables, an impressive feat. The food was very good and my ribeye was cooked perfectly and was big enough that I could take some of it home m. The sides do come separate but enough to feed two, maybe three people - the mashed potatoes tasted very "home-y" with a chunky mash, the creamed spinach could have used more seasoning. The steak itself tasted great and had a wonderful crust on it but they were quite heavy on the butter and it just say in a pool of it. The price....I believe is everyone's gripe. Very expensive, but I do recommend at least giving this experience a go.

Yelp
Hey family. Really quickly, I totally forgot that Ruth's Chris had happy hour. And I didn't know they opened at 4pm. Well I had a late doctors appointment and I had to fast, so I was good and hungry. I hadn't been here in a long time and post pandemic, it's still good but it doesn't feel how it used to. I got there right at 4 and sat at the bar. I was promptly greeted and they told me about the specials they had for happy hour. They have went up just a tad. It used to be $10 for each item, now it's about $11-$12 per item. But if you've ever been, it's very low key on a Monday which I absolutely enjoyed. I got the steak sandwich medium rare and it was seasoned really well and had plenty of meat on it. It came with lettuce, tomato, red onion and a béarnaise on the side as well as fries. It was very filling. I've been to Ruth's Chris plenty of times and I'm never disappointed. The service and food are top notch. I miss that their happy hour used to be until 7 but now it's from 4-6. All things considered, check it out as a nice alternative if you don't necessarily want the traditional steak and sides. It's a little budget friendly as well. Enjoy.

Yelp
Enjoyed a great meal with great service. Great for family or business. Ask for Genda, she has a wonderful personality and smooth pouring hand.

Yelp
Reservations for four. Got there a little early and they tried seating us at a two top. We waited 20 minutes for a four top. Meantime we went to the restroom which was not clean and the floors were sticky. Finally got seated, waitstaff was friendly but not very attentive. The food was just ok at best. We got the Chefs specials, filet and lobster. Definitely NOT worth the money we paid. Soooo disappointed. Please don't waste your time or money.
google avatar

Lisa R.

Yelp
As usual, the food did not disappoint, but I wanted to give a shout out to our sever, Jackie! Thank you, Jackie for being so wonderful, kind, and simply "taking care of us". Next time, I will definitely make a request for you when I make my reservation.

Yelp
We have been to this location twice before. Our last visit was just this month for our anniversary. We got an appetizer, multiple drinks, and dinner. Our steaks were good, but not what I would call great. Our side dish of potatoes au gratin tasted very bland which was disappointing because the time before we really enjoyed them. Our drinks were great but the service was not. Our waiter would disappear for long stretches and I felt like he should have been more attentive for the amount of money we were spending. I think we will choose another restaurant for our special occasions in the future.
google avatar

Morena G.

Yelp
We chose this place to enjoy my bday dinner w my sons. We made a reservation and it seemed busy for a Monday. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer, ribeye and steak medallions with a shrimp, mashed potatoes, asparagus, salad and spinach. I paired my meal with a glass of rosé (whispering angels). The medium rare steaks were cooked perfectly to our preference. They brought me a crème brûlée and lit up a candle. My handsome boys sang happy bday to me in English and Spanish, as it's our tradition.

Yelp
Every year we go watch the Masters finale in the bar area. This year we had the pleasure of Genda and Melissa taking care of us. They were prompt in service, fun, entertaining, and we ended up staying way longer than normal. We ordered the spicy shrimp and it was delicious! Our to go order was a filet mignon, Caesar salad, and au gratin potatoes. The food was exceptional and we have already been back!

Yelp
It was a good dinner at Ruth's and everything was as expected when it comes to food quality and taste. Given their high price tag, I expected nothing less. We tried the spicy shrimp and crab cakes for appetizer and they were really tasty, especially the crab cakes which melted in your mouth. The fillet and the lamb chops for main course were to the point and we enjoyed them thoroughly. For dessert, they were out of chocolate duo, but we tried the flourless chocolate Sin and it was yummy. My only disappointment was that the cappuccino was served with cinnamon in it and I hated that. Our server was courteous and friendly. Overall, a decent place. A bit over priced, but worth the splurge on special occasions.

Yelp
We have been to a number of Taster events at Ruths Chris, this was the first one tonight for 2024, and unfortunately, we may cancel the balance of the reservations we have made for this year. I made the reservation and gave my card# and when they called this week to confirm, i confirmed! Our anniversary is this weekend, and my husband and i thought this would be a great anniversary dinner to share - only to get there and we were asked if we were part of another group, to which we responded no, we are here on our own. We were then seated at a table with a daughter and mother who we did not know, and they were lovely. However, next to us was an empty table as well as a booth on the other side, which remained empty the entire meal. The first course was a crab salad with arugula and a vinaigrette dressing. The arugula was soooo salty it was inedible. At first i thought it was the crab salad, but after eating each thing separately, it was the arugula. Second course was carrot ginger soup, and despite the fact it was not hot, barely luke warm, it really was delicious, but it would have been nice if it was warmish. Tough to find someone to help, and by that time it was cold and there was no point. The filet and the short rib were delicious, especially the short rib, and I commented that they must have a new chef which was later confirmed, and that is a good change from last year. The dessert was a pear with ice cream in the middle, but when they served it it was already melted off the pear, and we then had to wait another 10 minutes to get a spoon to eat it, at which point it really was inedible, pic below. This meal is $125 per person - and 2 of the courses, if not 3, were inedible between the salt on the arugula and the cold soup and the pear with no silverware. My husband went and spoke with the manager, Leo Carrasquillo, i know this because the only response he had was to thank my husband and give him his card! After waiting another 15 minutes to try and pay, i went to find this man to let him know. I ran into him and started to let him know that we could not even pay the bill, and in the middle of my sentence, he walked away! As I followed him to our table, he took our check and gave us a bag wishing us a happy anniversary, which had a bottle of champagne and cheesecake, which while nice, i hate cheesecake and dont drink champagne, which he might have known if he had not walked away from me mid-sentence. This is to say nothing about the fact that NO ONE was even talking about the wines! Usually they talk about them, for instance even though we are seasoned wine people, I did not know much, if anything, about the first wine which was blanc de noir. For many courses, the wine was served after the food, so we did not really get to taste the food and wine together, which is kind of the point. I will be cancelling our reservations for the remaining dinners offered in the fall. There are others i guess in the summer, but they are not on the website, and the Fall dinners do not have menus posted yet - no loss there! I will not be returning to this restaurant - while it is improved with a new chef, the management and staff are not at the same level and charging $125 for 2 good courses out of 5 is entirely too expensive for what you get.

Yelp
Never dined inside only a pick up for my mom so maybe is why I said this. The food was good my mom said

Yelp
Excellent as usual. The overall experience is excellent with great food. It is starting to get a little pricey!

Yelp
Been going to Ruth's Chris restaurants all over the USA for years. Our last experience at this location was by far the worst we've ever had. While our waitress and one other were great, the food was awful. We had it corrected, but by that time it was a little to salvage the meal and the feeling of celebration. We said a little after the meal, but apparently not enough because no one really seemed to care. A couple days after, we called to let them know further of our disappointment with the meal and never got a call back. We called once more a couple days after that and again, no one called us back. I think not calling us back, twice, says it all.

Yelp
Great dinner at Ruth's Chris Steak House on a dreary and rainy night. Arriving at our reservation time, we were quickly seated and greeted by our server who congratulated us on our anniversary. While waiting for our drinks we were brought a small loaf of bread and butter. When drinks arrived we went ahead and put in our full order. Service was great. Starting with our appetizer, courses were delivered at the appropriate times. Now for the food. The Calamari was not overcooked as if is at so many places. A crunchy breading with sweet chili sauce that didn't overpower made this one of the better calamari dishes I've had. The tentacle pieces that many places don't serve were better than the rings. My Wedge Salad, as simple as it was, was delicious. A generous amount of a good quality crumbled bleu cheese along with bacon and the correct amount of dressing made this the best wedge salad I've had. My wife ordered the Lobster Bisque and was very happy with it. The 16oz Ribeye that I ordered medium rare came out perfectly cooked! I'm a stickler when it comes to my steaks and they nailed it! Seasoned with salt and pepper, I ate every piece of it. Yes, I ate the cap last. My wife ordered the Petite Filet and Shrimp. It is actually 2 small filets with shrimp on each. The steaks and shrimp were cooked correctly. The shrimp while good, could have used a little bit more seasoning in my opinion even if it was just a small dash of salt. The Creamed Spinach didn't really stand out to me. Don't get me wrong, it was good but not special. I would have thought that they would have made it their own somehow. The Au Gratin Potatoes were the better of of sides in my opinion. More like cheesy potatoes since they were diced into small pieces, they did have a creamy sauce and generous amounts of cheese on top. After dinner I had a cup of coffee and it was hands down one of the best cups I've ever had at a restaurant. Since it was our anniversary we were offered a dessert. Since we were stuffed and couldn't eat anymore they offered to pack it up for us to take home which was nice of them to do. This steak dinner was delicious. The reason for only 4 stars is the price. I've had $250 meals and they didn't consist of steak and potatoes with some creamed spinach.

Yelp
My wife and I enjoyed a meal here utilizing a gift card given to me by my newly added Son to the family. Was surprised to see it as part on an office building versus standalone or in a hotel. We had a reservation and was quickly greeted and sat. We immediately noticed that it was pretty warm inside, so warm I questioned if the AC was working at all. I went to use the restroom and inquired about it to a waitress who was pretty upset about not working and had the sweat to prove it. She asked that complain to the restaurant since they are not listening to the staff. This could be one of the problems of using part of an office building?? In any case, it was uncomfortable. Our waiter greeted us at the table and we ordered cocktails that took a bit of time to arrive but were delicious. We were planning on getting a bottle of wine but ended up getting individual classes to try different varieties. I was surprised at the limited wine by glass on the menu but selected one and moved on. When it was time for a 2 glass I mentioned the lack of choices by glass and the waiter said....."oh, we have another wine list with bunches of selections". Ha, so he only provided the most expensive listing. When he returned with the "secret" wine list there were a dozen more glasses. The markup was the highest I had ever seen on the glasses and bottles one particular brand, no I am not a fan, that is sold at Walmart for about $7.00 bottle was $50.00 here. I don't mind paying some mark-up but when your paying $25.00 a glass for a Pinot Noir where the bottle goes for $18.00 in the store, it's a bit over the top. Of course we both ordered steaks and they were perfectly cooked to order and had great flavor. For this I will return. Ordered a side of mushrooms as well and they were absolutely delicious. Overall it was a very good experience. Will not be a place I return on a regular basis as the cost is a bit high but for special occasions, I would reserve a table after confirming their AC is working. I didn't take any pics as I felt uncomfortable to do so here but wish I did.

Yelp
the food was wonderful and plentiful. the service staff seemed so well trained and were never still a minute. One of the highlights of our visit was Jacqueline (Jackie), our waitress. Nothing was left undone that would contribute to our wonderful visit. She is an efficient and delightful young lady.

Yelp
Terrible service; waited 45 minutes for our table even though we had a reservation, only to wait for an over cooked steak. I've had better service from Waffle House. Would not recommend this location!

Yelp
I came here with my mom for her birthday! I knew that she was pretty excited. my mom said that her food was perfect, she loved everything she had ordered. me on the other hand thought my food was way too buttery, even when it wasn't needed. though whereas I'm a picky eater, my mom isn't. so take my opinion with a grain of salt. a plus was that the service was magnificent. our server, Jessie, was very kind. this is a place I would only come to on special occasions, such as today.

Yelp
I've been coming to this particular location for three years and the dinning experience has always been superb. This visit I tried the stuffed chicken, steakhouse salad, lobster Mac and cheese, spinach and blueberry Mojito, all in which were delicious.

Yelp
We decided to take my grandpa here for his 84 birthday, and we were severely disappointed. I do not want to come off as a person who is being melodramatic, so, I will simply list the problems we encountered while dining here: 1) Once we ordered a large seafood appetizer, they came back after approximately 30 minutes and informed us that they only had enough seafood for a small. (This was not inherently a bad experience, but it did set a precedent). 2) We ordered one medium well steak, and it came out very well done. (Again, not necessarily a deal breaker). 3) In our seafood appetizer, which came out with entrees per our request, had a 4 inch black hair on one of the lobster tails. 4) We also ordered a medium RARE steak, and it came out well done. (When cutting into this steak, there was not a single drop of juice. We checked the other steaks, and it was not a case where they misplaced the wrong steak in front of different guests). 5) When we sent this back, they came out with a new steak that was closer to raw (Picture is attached below). At this point, our entire experience had been ruined. Considering this is a place where the cheapest steak is $55.00, I expected much more. Our billed totaled $450.00, and it was not worth it.

Yelp
Dinner was excellent as expected . The small changes in menu from Charlotte to Greensboro was disappointing but not overwhelming. Server was great and check on us at the right times . The COVId protocol was in full effect . I love the fact that table spacing was more that adequate and the not packed as I had experienced before . We had Ribeye and stuffed chicken . The Sweet-potato casserole as great. The Ribeye was slightly over cooked from my request but that was made up by the flavor and just the right sizing . Must add the cream corn to the Gboro menu . Desert was the standard cheesecake. I wanted to try it. This was my least favorite as the crust was harder than expected . Drinks were great to. Definitely will return

Yelp
I love Ruth's Chris Steak House. Especially for birthdays and bread pudding. Our waitress was cool and very attentive! We went on a Sunday, although any day is a great day to share a meal there. One of my favorite menu items is the Chilean sea bass with the garlic mashed potatoes. I decided to try something new on this visit and I ordered the barbecued grilled shrimp as a part of my meal. Delicious! I didn't think I was going to get full from this combination but it was actually a good portion. You get about six pieces of shrimp, and I ordered it with the garlic mashed potatoes. The potatoes is what fills you up the most. The texture of the potatoes is very creamy and they top it off with green onions. The shrimp is in the appetizer section of the menu and what I loved most about the shrimp is the sauce that is drizzled around the bottom. It's a creamy barbecue sauce that is paired well with the dish. Cut a piece of the shrimp, slide it in the sauce and enjoy. It is also served with a slice of bread. The lobster tails and the lobster Mac and cheese was amazing! One of the attendees at the dinner ordered this dish and they highly recommend it. You get two juicy sized lobster tails nicely seasoned and you get a nice portion of crab meat on the Mac and cheese. The flavors mixed together was on point and it is something I look forward to ordering on the next visit. Ok so, the stuffed chicken breast...delicious. This dish features a creamy garlic herb cheese stuffing in the middle of the chicken and the person that ordered this dish said the meat is so tender. They like to order it with the creamy spinach side dish. Great option to try! Our favorite bottle of wine to order is the Riesling. Of course that is a great option if you love sweet wines. The waitress did mentioned that the Moscato is sweeter and goes great with just about any dish. We have always been greeted with a friendly presence from the time you walk in until the time you leave. The staff members are helpful when choosing items on the menu and in making recommendations. Ruth's Chris is a great choice for dinner, dessert or just a glass of wine with friends!

Yelp
I've eaten in many Ruth's Chris Steak Houses, and generally love them, but they always have inconsistencies and this one did as well, but only more of them. On the plus side: good wine, chopped salad, bread, and dessert. The down side: steaks were decent, but fell short of the price and quality expected; awful margarita (inexcusable for the price); lobster tail undercooked, and the replacement was overcooked; service friendly but not the attentiveness to be expected. Bread had to be asked for twice! Disappointing, because the cost of a meal here can't be justified by good bread and a good salad. At these prices, this restaurant must meet much higher standards. Probably won't return.
