New York’s La Grande Boucherie Arrives in Chicago With Parisian Flair | Eater Chicago

"The long-running steakhouse occupied the two-level River North site for nearly 28 years before closing in October 2020, a shutdown attributed largely to reduced downtown traffic during the pandemic; its departure left the prominent space available for redevelopment." - Naomi Waxman

Google
It can never go wrong. It’s a great steakhouse, and this location is great because it is surrounded by hotels. We ordered the Caesar salad that was fresh and served nicely, the 11 OZ filet that was flavorful but a little bit chewy, and for sides the creamed spinach and the gratin potatoes that were both average but still good. The service was polite and attentive a d the ambiance is really calm and quiet for a pleasant evening. Overall I recommend it a lot if you want a nice steak dinner

Google
We were there in the evening and we really enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic, and for us the highlights were the meat and cheesecake. It deserves 5 stars. The location is good, close to the sea.

I was genuinely excited to visit Ruth’s Chris in Long Beach to celebrate my friend’s birthday, it was her first time dining there, and we were both looking forward to an amazing meal and experience. Unfortunately, the evening turned out to be quite disappointing. We ordered the special: my friend chose the steak, which arrived overcooked and dry, while I had the baked chicken, which wasn’t even warm. After waiting more than 40 minutes for our entrees, it was frustrating to receive food that looked and tasted like it had been sitting out. At a restaurant known for its quality and attention to detail, this was very unexpected. The service, while polite, was noticeably inattentive. Our server rarely checked on us throughout the meal, and my friend had to wait a long time for a simple drink refill. Small details like that make such a big difference, especially at a fine dining restaurant with premium pricing. I also want to share a more personal note, as a woman of color, I sometimes hesitate to voice concerns in upscale dining settings because I don’t want to be perceived as difficult or overly critical. But this experience truly missed the mark in both food and hospitality, and I believe honest feedback is important for improvement. I can’t say I’ll never return, as I’ve heard many wonderful things about this location, but this visit left me very disappointed. I truly hope management takes this feedback to heart and ensures that future guests receive the quality and warmth that Ruth’s Chris is known for.

Google
I throughly enjoyed my time. My experience was great as usual. I haven’t had a bad experience as of yet, however Haley was exceptional. I think she is by far the best server I’ve have had at any establishment.i was able to meet the manager such a pleasant person. I will revisit the LongBeach location and I will be sure to ask to be seated in Haley’s section!!!!

Happy hour was really nice. The steak sandwich was nice and tender and truffle fries were great. Or server Adrian was excellent and attentive to our needs.

Google
Went to Ruth for a late birthday dinner and it was delicious! The drinks were good and the food had lots of flavor, my favorite was the Mac and cheese with no lobster, our server was very sweet as well!

Google
Steak was done perfectly. The staff is very attentive. We had a big party so it took a while for food to arrive.

Google
Overall great experience, we made a reservation for my nephews birthday online a week in advance. When we arrived we were greeted by the employee and taken to our seats promptly. The table was devoted with happy birthday confetti which I thought was a nice touch. The waitress was very polite and helpful explaining the menu. I stated off with an espresso martini which was great, as a starter I ordered the lobster bisque which was okay, nothing to rave about, I wish it would have been a tad bit warmer and not as salty as it was. My main entree was the Filet and Lobster tail which was perfection! Along with the Mac & Cheese, Creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. Overall the experience was amazing we enjoyed our dinner and the great service the staff provided, making this a birthday dinner my nephew really appreciated.

Yelp
First time at this store and although it took a while for the guys at the bar to come over after that it was great. Lucy was my server and i found out that she just got bumped up to wait staff. She was very kind and knowledgeable and attentive as well. She even came back to verify my order prior to me asking her if she got it right and she did. That's a very smart person that does that She is fantastic and I will return and ask for her next time. The rest of the staff including Luis who always made sure we had water and anything else we needed did great too. They do validate parking so instead of $16 you only pay $5. Anyway thanks everyone, especially Lucy, you Rock!!!

Yelp
One of my favorite steakhouses . Made reservations for a Saturday night for my best friend's birthday party of 8 and it's was okay. The reservation was made for 830 maybe because it was a little busy we waited about 20 minutes for our table no biggie. I like the mode lighting and semi intimate setting . And the confetti and customs menus was such a nice touch. I had a citrus honey martini ; it was good I would have liked it to be a bit stronger and little more honey flavor My meal I got the Ruth classic which comes with a starter , entree & side and dessert. I got filet and shrimp with creamed spinach everything was cooked to perfection . My only issue was the timing of food . Was also told they were out of lobster Mac and cheese but there was lobster for entrees. I got my filet and shrimp and then about 20 or so minutes got my creamed spinach and mac & cheese that was ordered for the table . So I did eat my steak first because i didn't want it to get cold. I wasn't a fan my family food came out in increments of 15 minutes because while others waited for everyone food to arrive their food would no longer be hot/warm.

Yelp
Food Dine LA special - Ahi salad was fresh, we'll seasoned and balanced with the right amount of citrus. New york steak- nice search with just salt and pepper. Supper tender, but lacks that beefy flavor i look for, but overall good piece of steak. Side- fired roast corn- good buttery flavor, but a bit heavy handed on the seasoning. Dessert- chocolate cake nice concentration of chocolate goodness. Service - excellent and not overbearing. Price - good for Dine in La. $80 Restroom - clean and fancy hand towels. Parking - with validation was $5. Parking is at the rear of the restaurant on seaside way, just before the convention way overpass.

Yelp
I spent Thanksgiving evening here. I made a reservation. The staff were very friendly, especially the hostess. My waitress was busy, but she was extremely efficient. The food runner made sure that I had everything that I needed. It really gave teamwork. The quality of Ruth's Chris is amazing, so of course the food was good. I had a ribeye, potatoes au gratin, and creamed spinach. Everything was delightful.

Yelp
Dependable venue for a great steak dinner. Service is good. Parking is tricky at this location.

Yelp
I stopped by Ruth's Chris for happy hour, and it did not disappoint. They have a great happy hour selection, and it was surprisingly easy to find a seat both at the bar and in the happy hour area. The drinks were solid, but the food was the real standout...especially the crabcakes, fries, and sliders. Everything was absolutely amazing. Definitely a happy hour worth coming back for!

Yelp
My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary on Friday, November 21st. We were supposed to go to 555 Steakhouse, but they were too busy. So I called Ruth's Chris on a whim and they were able to give us a reservation in under an hour. OMG! This place is amazing! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was incredible! We were seated in a cozy corner and greeted with rose petals across our table. How romantic! Our server was SUNNY and she is a ray of sunshine! So friendly and knowledgeable, she did a great job! Food was also great! The ribeye medium rare was cooked to perfection! Along with everything else. What an unforgettable experience! :)
google avatar

Stephanie H.

Yelp
We had an amazing dinner at this location! Our server, Alexie went above and beyond to make our evening special. Our appetizers, salads, entrées, sides, and desserts were spectacular. Everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The ambience in this location is top-notch! We will definitely come back next time. We are in the area.

Yelp
Full disclosure: I had a business dinner here, i didnt pay for this. This place keeps a good standard. Great Service. We had a table of 15 people. The waiting staffs took care all of us well. The general manager stopped by before we left. The food: Just great all around. Fresh and good seasoned salad. The steak was cooked to spot on medium rare. My cheesecake was delicious. I should also add that the restaurant was very busy that night. Almost full house, but i can say that the waiting staffs provided great service.

Yelp
Been quite a while since I've come by for Happy Hour. First off, I was delighted to see Anthony still behind the bar! He gave us their updated Happy Hour menu! I like the new choices albeit their hamburger is not an HH item, it remains on the bar menu. Huge servings of truffle fries (looked great) waltzed by but we checked out other things including the new pork bites (great); the Ahi tuna (always good), the new meatballs (yummy) and the calamari (bit too sweet for me). Their house cabernet sauvignon is really quite charming. Not too bold but plenty of flavor. Service always good. The bar generally fills up at Happy Hour (but the high tops are HH eligible!) but the place stayed quite full past 6pm. HH runs 4-6 Monday-Friday plus Sunday. How cool is that!

Yelp
Sat at the bar because we arrived a little early. The old fashioned wasn't made right, it was missing the garnishments. The food was excellent, but the service was pretty slow especially for a Friday night. Parking is validated partially so you have to pay $6. The vide of the restaurant was cool.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I celebrated his birthday here earlier this year, and the service and food were so amazing that we came back for our anniversary. Izzy greeted us warmly, noticed it was our anniversary, and went above and beyond--decorating our table, giving us menus that said "Happy Anniversary," and even bringing a card. Her genuine excitement made our experience start on such a joyful note! Our waiter Vlad was attentive, offered complimentary champagne and dessert, and checked in throughout the meal to make sure everything was perfect. The food was incredible--our favorite is the lobster mac and cheese, and the steaks were tender and perfectly cooked. Special occasions here are always worth it, not just for the food but for the outstanding service.

Yelp
I have to say this is by far our favorite location. Easy parking and access. The staff is great and attentive. We had our annual anniversary dinner last night and everything was great. We shared the ribeye and baked potato and had a lobster tail on the side. Our server (I forgot his name) was the sweetest. The only thing is they usually comp a dessert and they did not. No biggie. But that will not prevent us for returning next year.

Yelp
Ok, we went back to the LB location... Service was way better this time, vibe way better than the last bit of chaos. This time, we actually got to eat the meal AND in a timely fashion. I did not call manager ahead like asked, on purpose, i wanted to eat normally. Everything we are was pretty good (PLATES ARE HOT, yes, they told us...but you know how it is "hot hot is it" says my brain) The only 2 reasons I cannot give 5 is because the quality of food just isn't the same as it had been or that the price leads you to believe. The filet mignon looked like it was cooked perfect, but had to dip it in butter since it was pretty dry. The second is pictured below, this is what I ate the next day wrapped in my leftovers... before you say it, that matches no one at my house. Didn't even pull it out of the bag until the next day, from the refrigerator.

Yelp
Best steak ever. Delta in your mouth. Service is superb. Kind of crowded. However, we did go on our anniversary. But everything else was wonderful.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting the Ruth's Chris location in Long Beach, and it was such a pleasant experience! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was even better.

Yelp
I ordered their $55 three-course meal- it comes with a starter, an entree, a personal side and a dessert. I ordered the Caesar salad, stuffed chicken breast (added shrimp), garlic mash, and cheesecake. I also tried their lychee cosmo & lemon drop. My family and I shared some apps & sides like brussel sprouts, sweet potato casserole, and fried calamari. Everything was delicious!!! The ambience is so nice- such classy and elegant vibes. The service was also great - our server was very attentive and I believe the manager made a round to greet tables and check on how things were going.

Yelp
As always, we had an amazing time here. This is our go to since they have opened. Ignacio was our server. Ignacio is a gem. Daniel helped and was just as awesome. The manager also came over to ask how everything was. He was very sweet, respectful and so very friendly. Ignacio went over and beyond. Such great service. He had amazing recommendations. He knew the menu inside and out. It was a delight. The place is immaculately clean. It was such a romantic night. We celebrated my husbands birthday as well as love. The food was definitely delicious! I am in love with the sweet potato. I had no idea they had this. It was really delicious. What we had this time here Gamblers Old Fashioned 16.00 Stuffed Mushroom 22.00 16oz Ribeye 75.00 Side Sweet Potato Casserole 16 Side Grilled Asparagus 16.00 Ruths Manhattan $17 Classic Lemon Drop 16 Medallions w/Shrimp 62.00 w/Bleu Cheese Crust 7.00 Price was reasonable. Parking is downstairs under the building. Entry to parking is in the back. Reservations should be done for Holidays and weekends. The food was spectacular. The drinks were yummy.

Yelp
Our first time visiting this location in Long Beach and it was phenomenal. I asked for last minute accommodations to celebrate my Husband, and they delivered. We were greeted with smiles, and our server Haley was amazing. I would've liked a little more privacy for where we were seated. However it was Friday evening so I understand it gets busy. We did have an item we felt was a little over cooked. The manager immediately made it right and brought us a new one. Even took it off our bill. They also validate parking which was a nice addition. Overall our first experience at this location was amazing. We will definitely be back. All of our food was so delicious and service was 10/10!

Yelp
I had an outing with my fam that was splendid @ruthschris . The staff showed amazing hospitality, and the service was excellent at the Long Beach location . Our server, Eric, demonstrated outstanding customer service, he was a gem. I can't wait to go back! The bartender made amazing drinks all night. My French 75 was lovely. I got my steak medium & I was in love . I can't to go back it was a beautiful scenery.

Yelp
I've visited many locations over the years, and this one is such a cute spot for a girls' night out great dinner, drinks, and conveniently close to home. No complaints here!

Yelp
YES. I FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS PLACE. I came here for the Mon - Fri happy hour which is 4:00 - 6:00 pm and I can't wait to be back. The, food, the drinks, THE BARTENDERS, I LOVED IT ALL. Anthony is phenomenal! I love him. This restaurant is fancy but the bar is a more casual atmosphere. Everyone is so attentive and the food and drinks are SUPER delicious.

Yelp
My husband and I have been to the Irvine location several times (it's his favorite spot) Coming to this location we were a little skeptical but as soon as I walked in the host greeted me right away and we only waited 5 minutes for our table (I have made reservations) our server Cece was the best, she was super friendly, I ask for a drink recommendation and she said a cucumber gin drink, I don't like gin but she said it'd be good, and it was in fact delicious, the crab cakes (complimentary on the house) were so creamy and delicious, my husband (a picky eater) loved them!! I didn't get to see the rest of the restaurant but one thing I noticed was how much light there is inside the restaurant and I love it, their Irvine location is kind of dark and low lights. We are extremely satisfied and will definitely be back to the Long Beach location and will definitely ask for our server Cece!!!

Yelp
My friend and I decided on a last minute lunch at Ruth's Chris Steak House and a had a phenomenal experience at their bar! While we could have been seated at a table without a reservation at 4pm on a Monday, we were happy to enjoy a more relaxed ambiance at their bar. Our bartender/server extraordinaire Eric was welcoming, inviting, and crafted a wonderful experience that will have us coming back for more. We both lavished in the Ruth's Classics special prix fix menu that featured a starter, main dish, side dish, and dessert for a great price point ($70-$90 per person). The steaks were cooked to perfection, the seafood was perfect, and the dessert was A+. We indulged a bit in their bar program, enjoying wine and cocktails that Eric expertly recommended pairing perfectly with what we ordered. It was a splurge that we were so grateful to participate in! Can't wait to return again soon!

Yelp
Came for birthday drinks... sat at the bar.. WHY is it so cold there?? Every thing was awesome.. but I this A/C is out of control...

Yelp
Serena, was the best waitress, very attentive, pleasant, patient, accommodating. The food outstanding. The hostesses, Izzy and Emelly were very pleasant and accommodating as well. Excellent customer service, food, and experience. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Great service! Cece was on top of it and managed our celebratory meal well from start to finish! Our table was decorated and we had customized menus with a birthday greeting - nice touch! All the food was delicious - crab stuffed mushrooms, crab cakes, the steaks, sides and desserts. You can't go wrong coming here for a lovely meal.

Yelp
First Happy Hour at this location. It's been a few years. The bar patrons were lively chatting it up with each other, which is always nice except... When one person talks too damn much lol. Mostly locals which was nice too, but they definitely get visitors during conferences. Decided to try a few lite bites. Both were excellent and plentiful and therefore worth the $15 price The staff was cool, attentive, and friendly. I was told it wasn't as busy as it usually is, but I'll be back either way.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Yelp
My wife and I went on 10/10/25. After we were sat, there was no server. The kind bartender came out to help us. Our server came out at the same time. We both ordered the lobster tail. My wife also ordered a salmon filet, and I ordered a steak. For sides, I ordered a side, she ordered the sweet potato casserole. Not only did she not get her casserole, she got a baked potato with nothing on it, without being asked. And this all took more than 45 minutes. Horrible experience.

Yelp
Ruth's Chris is one of our favorite natural steakhouses. Seasoned to perfection. A steakhouse that is complemented with an awesome service staff that makes customers feel like part of the family. Our service started with excellent service and cocktails provided by Dee. Dee is enthusiastic and fun spirited. Followed up service by sweet Amber, fun Anthony and Christian aka Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics haha. What a wonderful staff provided by Ruth's Chris Long Beach. Thank you RC. My Happy Hour meal and drinks we're excellent.

Yelp
So I went to Ruth Crisp for my birthday that my wife planned for me, it was my first time there and the food was amazing. This second time around I took my wife for our 7th year anniversary tonight and didn't have a good experience this time. I have celebrated an anniversary and I was given a special menu with anniversary message and was given a complimentary desert decorated wishing me n my wife a happy anniversary. But this time nothing was accommodated. What was worst, is me n my wife ordered a 3 course meal that included steak. They brought our steak out and I asked for well done and my wife ordered medium rare. But hers was very rare. They took it back and made her another steak and it was super rare, they took it back again and made her a 3rd steak and it was made medium rare like she asked. But it ended up being dry and tuff. I'm already done with my food by now so it just sucks I couldn't enjoy my food with her on our special day. We came for happy hour to drink margaritas, but now they don't offer it on the happy hour menu. They said they had just took it off the menu 3 months prior. So we got stuck drinking tequila sunrise. I think the best thing I enjoyed was the truffle fries. We had an amazing experience the first time here, not sure what happened on our second visit. I wish they were courteous to give us a partial refund of discount. Instead they offered us a side dish from the 3 course menu we had. But we made the best of it and still enjoyed what we had. The Cesar salad was good, but I had to ask for more dressing. The bread n butter was good. The garlic smash potatoes were ok. The first time I got it, it was delicious. This time it was just tasted basic. First time was a 9.5/10. This time was a 7/10

Yelp
Amazing service!!! I'm been to several locations and the food quality is always good. We had the three coarse special with appetizers, main coarse and dessert. Worth the price!!!

Yelp
My wife and I had our anniversary dinner here. I didn't know Ruth's Chris had a branch so close to us. I literally just found out on Saturday. I've been to several locations in this high-end chain. But it's been a while. We had a nice evening. First, the location is relatively new. Inside it has the traditional steakhouse vibe one associated with Ruth's. They made a special effort to decorate the table and had a card waiting for us. This was a very nice touch. They have a pretty good wine list. But this was a work night and we both drove and met here after work. This was not a bottle of wine evening. My wife had a lemon drop and I had a glass of Cabernet. The by the glass list is just ok. We both had salads. I had the Ruth's chopped salad, which was very good. It was well balanced with flavors and textures. It s also just the right size. My wife enjoyed. her wedge salad - the steakhouse mainstay. Our steaks were well prepared and the butter they use seasons the meat and keeps it moist. They know how to cook steaks here. We both had a baked potato, which I thought was just ok. It wasn't hot enough. The cheese didn't melt, it just clumped. It was ok. My wife wanted creamed spinach and she loved it. i tasted it but didn't have much. It's good and rich, but i generally don't want to eat that heavy. There's nothing wrong with it though. I wish there were a cleaner vegetable dish in the sides. Everything is rich. They gave us a free dessert, which was nice. They drizzled our anniversary message on the plate, again a nice touch. My wife really wanted the side dish sweet potato casserole as a dessert with ice cream. So that's what we had. They added over cream to make it a dessert My wife was very happy. It's really not my thing. It's like sweet potato pie. which i'm not that into. But the target audience here loved it. The service is professional and very good. Our waitress was attentive and did a great job. The table runners were efficiently bringing out food. Our water glasses were filled regularly. The service was great. This is a very good steakhouse experience. We had a great time and will be back. I'd say this was a 4 1/2 star place. but i'll round up based on how happy my wife was.

Yelp
I've been to other Ruth Chris locations, but this one was one of the best! Seating was quick. Food was delicious! We got the porter house for 2 and some wine. It was cooked perfectly! Server was great! Only bad thing is they were super slow! I'm glad we ordered appetizers because food came like 40 minutes after . So make sure you get appetizers

Yelp

Yelp
Thank you to our wonderful bartender CHRISTIAN for making some awesome cocktails. Coming back soon! Thank you also to our server Erica.

Yelp
Location beautiful. So close to my house so I'll probably always choose this location. I went to celebrate my anniversary. My waiter was very slow . I been here several times and usually never encounter an inattentive waitress/waiter before. My food came out not all at once . Never experienced this at Ruth Chris before usually they bring all your food at once . I received my shrimp lastly after all my food had already came out . Hot plates was then cold .my experience this time was not the best and that's unfortunate.

Yelp
For a classic and extremely courteous professional staff with a welcoming and congenial service this is the place to dine. The restaurant offers a modern decor with elegant touches. It's very contemporary. The food speaks for itself! How do you describe a juicy, butter tender steak and lobster! You just have to come and try it for yourself.
google avatar

Kim U.

Yelp
We came here after the Long Beach Grand Prix and they asked if o could take off that. I mean, I guess. Even at Maestros they don't ask that after a Kings game. And this is a race, outside, during the day. Okk The food is not the same as it used to be. But it was still a 4/5. I was am just taken aback by the hat. Alex, one of the servers, was very attentive, They were all attentive. The potatoes grating were must ok. The steak I got was very good. My bf said Alex should be a server bc he puts more care and effort into the job at hand than anyone else at the restaurant. Good job Alex !

Yelp
We went for my bf birthday dinner. Service and food & drinks were excellent. Thank you

Yelp
We came here for a rehearsal dinner and they really took care of us. I love the steaks at Ruth's Chris and the creamed spinach. Tonight was a set menu and the Chocolate Sin Cake was amazing!! Ignacio and Shane were great and always made sure we had what we needed. Highly recommend coming here for a date, business meeting, or special occasion.

Yelp
Our Waiter was great can remember his name. The manger was walking around greeting table but skip us which throw me off. But maybe the pick and choose what table they want to reach out too. I'll go back but not to this location.

Tom R.

Yelp
Food was good.. bar service was terrible. For such a high end restaurant you'd expect and deserve better for the price. Do better

Yelp
I recalled hearing about Ruth's Chris opening a location in the DTLB area shortly after COVID and I thought it was taking the place of the now defunct Rock Bottom Brewery on Ocean & Pine. I told my BFF about wanting to try this place for happy hour as I've heard nothing but good things about it, so this past Sunday was the day! I am glad I looked up the address beforehand as it can be a little tricky to find depending upon which side of Ocean you are coming from. We decided to walk (4 mi RT) and so glad we did (aside from burning some calories lol) as there seemed to be plenty of parking on Ocean Blvd; however, I did not see any signs for a designated parking lot. We arrived about 15 min after happy hour started and it was not very busy so we were able to grab a high top in the bar area and was immediately greeted by our server, Anthony (great guy, friendly, excellent service). He recommended some items and I asked him a "dumb" question about the wine prices on the HH menu as the items were both in red and black ink so I assumed the prices in black were a for a bottle lol. He kindly responded that the items in red were the HH pricing (DUH, it states so on the top of the HH menu lol). As for the drinks and food, were they overpriced in my opinion for HH? I thought so, but the quality and taste of the food/wine was amazing and the service was top notch! We started off with the fried zucchini (just order an extra side of aioli). The sticks were lightly breaded, crispy, and tasty (not greasy)! My BFF and I ordered the chicken sandwich and steak sandwich and we split them (both came with fries). Our server Anthony recommended the steak med well in order to avoid it being too dry, and it was top notch (bernaise sauce, mmmm). The chicken sandwich came with some mango chutney and had great flavor as well. BFF wanted dessert so he ordered the creme brule and it was big enough to share between two people (I stuck with wine). The wine we had was a cab from WA state and it was very smooth and an excellent choice! Unfortunately, it came time to pay for our bill and it came to 140 bucks before tip, which I don't consider HH; however, if you order just a sandwich and a cocktail/glass of wine or a couple of appetizers it is more reasonably priced. Will definitely be back though.

Yelp
I'm sad to write one of my firsts bad reviews since I've become an Yelp Elite. I know that Ruth Chris is a chain, so I will base my opinion soley on the Long Beach branch. My in-laws were visiting. My brother in law went to the Marina Del Rey one a week prior and raved about the steak. My mother in law wanted to also experience it, so I booked the one in Long Beach thinking it'd be more convenient for us... but man we went on an off day... I had outdoor reservations. I got there, and they wouldn't set up the table until after we got there and made us wait 15 minutes for the table. (The outdoor seating was empty at the time.) They then proceeded to seat us. Shortly after, they seated 3 more parties. It took them maybe 20 minutes to get our order. An hour after we ordered, someone that seemed to have a little more authority came to tell us they had "technical difficulty in the kitchen" and offered us some appetizer for an apology. (And the only reason why I gave them a 2 for Star) But during those time, our server, who they dispatched the bartender (who's supposed to only do bar tending) they made her our server. She was kind... but she's working the bar... there's no way she's going to be attentive to anything we may need. Meanwhile, the couple sitting behind us, was supposedly a friend of few of the staff there. The male server + the bar tender kept visiting them. Kept giving them 2 extra heaters, kept refilling their water, and they never visited our t able afterwards. An hour and a half later, our bartender server came and gave us our food. She told us she didn't want to lie to us, and said the chef had left mid shift due to family passing away. (I hope she didn't lie about this...) but all that to say, we got our steak burnt to a crisp. We ordered medium and I've had many medium steaks. That one had enough burt pieces but still tasted like an okay steak. My son got a New York steak medium well plus.... but that shit wasn't beef anymore. I ate a piece of his steak and the only flavor i had... was crispy bitter burnt pieces. I can't believe they thought giving us an appetizer wouldmake up for the BS of a steak we paid for. We had 5 ppl in our party... the bill was $345 but being served burnt ruined steak at Ruth Chris, a famous HIGH END steak chain to mess up steak is just the biggest let down. The parking situation is horrible here. It's completely dead area... and they can't serve their steak right, I will never visit this location ever again. Staff were kind...but if I'm paying $345 for food, I expect it to be done right. For anyone thinking of visiting, just go to another chain. That's the benefit of the chain. This is exactly why I avoid chain steak places... Often time it's corporate enough that no one really gives a hoot on quality or service. There is no passion behind what they serve. If you want a good steak experience, I recommend local steak shops. Porterhouse Bourbon & Bones in El Segundo was amazing for about the same price or slightly cheaper.

Yelp
When arriving to the restaurant, I had difficulty trying to find parking since there were no signs. From reading reviews, people were saying the best place to park was in the structure underneath but since I had a late reservation, I found out the structure closes at 8pm. Fortunately, since I went on a Monday night, I was able to easily find street parking on Locust St. but the only issue was walking uphill to the restaurant. When entering Ruth Chris, my Fiancé and I were greeted by two hosts who were polite and congratulated us on our Anniversary. Also, they decorated our table with heart confetti and gave us a personalized card that congratulated us! We were caught off guard and appreciated all the work they did to make this night amazing. We started off with a bottle of red wine while deciding to order the preset menu. Basically, it comes with a choice of house salad, Cesar salad, or lobster bisque. For the entrée, Filet Mignon with a choice of Shrimp or Lobster tail. They have upgrade options to choose a larger cut of the Filet Mignon or better upgrade to a large Ribeye Steak for $20+ more. All their steaks are USDA Prime so you know the steak will be a quality choice steak. For the preset menu, you get a choice of one side of either mashed potatoes or creamed spinach. They also have an upgraded choice of choosing any of their other sides besides the lobster mac n cheese for an extra $5 more. The preset menu also provides a dessert that the chef chooses. My fiancé and I got each a Cesar salad, the Lobster and Ribeye steak upgrade, and selected Brussel sprouts and Creamed mushroom upgrades. They provided us with free bread and butter that was warm and soft that kept us occupied. The Cesar salad was served in two large bowls which is actually a lot of salad. Next, the steak and lobster arrived in a really hot plate over 500+ degrees. Everything was cooked perfectly. My medium rare steak was somewhat fatty which how I like it but my fiancé's was more on the leaner side which she actually prefers. After not being able to finish our steaks, they cleared our table and gave us our dessert which has a Happy Anniversary greeting on the plate with cheesecake and mixed berries. Our server Eddie was amazing as well as every other staff. He was attentive and made sure everything came out perfectly. This was our first time here and will definitely come back!
