My husband and I went for our Anniversary. We were given a gift card from our kids. The place was very nice as was our server. We had appetizers, salad, bread, a cocktail, steak & lobster the seabass and potatoes. Unfortunately all the food was average. Nothing special.

First time dining and it was an amazing experience! The restaurant is beautiful, with dim lighting and the music was incredible but not overwhelming. Our server was wonderful, the appetizer was delicious. I had a steak that was perfectly prepared and my guest had the salmon which was also amazing. It is a great place to celebrate a special occasion and we will definitely make this a frequent favorite.

We had the opportunity to spend Valentines Day with the Chef. It was wonderful four course chefs table menu with an exceptional wine pairing. The food was incredible. As always, our server Johnny, was amazing and his wine pairings were a perfect complement to the chefs menu. I would highly recommend this experience!

My husband and I went to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We were greeted and seated immediately at a wonderful table with rose petals on the table. Johnny was our waiter. He was absolutely fabulous and made the experience so special! Now the food. It was superbly prepared and displayed and delicious! The lemon basil salad dressing is my favorite! I would absolutely recommend this to everyone!

Valentine's Day reservations @4:30 we were seated with in a few minutes . The service was top notch and very friendly, the ambiance was spectacular, the food was good after we sent our steaks back to be cooked to the proper temperature. We ordered Medium and they came out Rare. Not only our table the table next to me also sent their steaks back. Even with the temperature wrong the first time, we had a wonderful experience dining here. It was very romantic and the lady at the front even was nice enough to take some beautiful pictures for me to remember!

The prix fixe menu gave us a nice way to try some new dishes. We were celebrating something out of the ordinary and the staff made our meal equally memorable! Highly recommend for the service alone and the delicious food made it worth every penny.

I don’t know if you can go wrong at Ruth’s Chris! We made a reservation for nine, celebrating our son’s college graduation. There was only maybe three other parties when we arrived; and we were the last to leave. It was pretty quiet, but we didn’t feel intimidated by the atmosphere. We weren’t loud and obnoxious but we WERE celebrating and having a great time with family! Hallie was on it and AMAZING! She made sure we didn’t have to ask for any refills and was readily available for our next request! She even brought a celebratory carrot cake for my son … and it was DELICIOUS! EVERYTHING was ON POINT! With nine of us, there was a lot of food but not a ton of leftovers; which was a good thing. Seven of us head home tomorrow; the other two get to reap the benefits of those leftovers since they live about 10 minutes away! All the steaks were cooked to perfection and exactly as requested. My daughter and I shared a Lobster Mac/Cheese and Ceasar Salad and still had leftovers. A nice surprise was the Chocolate Lovers Delight coffee. I’m a “cream in my coffee” girl — but this coffee definitely was tasty even without!! I’ve never had chocolate black coffee and it was DELICIOUS!! Can’t leave without a bathroom check: immaculate! I greatly appreciated the full doors on the stalls and the little shelf on the back wall for my phone. Well done, Ruth’s Chris! • BBQ shrimp x2 • side lobster mac/cheese x2 • Ruth’s truffle crust filet • 16oz ribeye + lobster tail x2 • cowboy ribeye x2 + grilled shrimp • mashed potatoes • loaded baked potato • calamari • crab stuffed mushrooms x2 • ceasar salad • cheesecake • peanut butter pie • berries with sweet cream • grapefruit margarita • Michelob ultra x2 • draft Blue Moon x2 • chocolate lovers delight • wild berry lemonade • raspberry rosemary cosmo • chocolate sin cake (complimentary) • celebratory carrot cake (complimentary) • 20% gratuity (over parties of six) $1,020 Overall: (five stars) x (nine people) = 45 stars!!!!

My husband and I ate here today after we got married! It was truly the best experience we have ever had at any restaurant! The staff was so friendly and kept congratulating us. We also received a glass of champagne and dessert to celebrate. They truly know how to make you feel like a million dollars here. The food was incredible and our steak was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Went to Ruth's Chris for a birthday dinner. Located off Jordan Creek parkway in West Des Moines, it's convenient and connected to an apartment complex. They also offer valet parking, I believe. What you'd expect for a high-end steak restaurant. Nice ambiance, low lighting, and very professional and attentive service staff. I ordered the bone-in ribeye steak. Good, not great. Had just as good, if not better elsewhere. Drinks were decent. A little in the sweeter side. Overall, great atmosphere and service. Food in my opinion, not anything special. I'd definitely go back for another special occasion, but not on my own time.

Yelp
This Thanksgiving I wanted to take a break from hosting and eat your typical Thanksgiving dinner meal. So I decided to spend my evening here. Sam my server was amazing per usual, we were seated upstairs this go around and I absolutely loved it! My table was directly across from the bar so I was able to watch all of the foot ball games. My food was at 10/10, my drinks not so much. One of the main reasons I came here is because this particular location got me hooked on their French Quarter 75's, they were SOOO good the first time around. This time not so much, it was so bitter I had to send it back. The spicy Margarita wasn't a good either. It was supposed to be spicy and I asked for it to be a fruity flavored Marg, it was just your typical margarita that was served. However the hibachis marg and the lemon drop was a 10/10. Outside of that I enjoyed my evening, and can't wait for my next go around here. I definitely recommend coming here.

Yelp
Would I go back...100%! The service was great except for a couple of things....My steak was great despite the lack of my au poivie sauce, which arrived later... (Luke warm at best). And half of our entrees came out before the others. Not to mention that that they just wanted to "turn the table"...which was abundantly obvious. Hence the lack of checking on us. Nevertheless, the place is beautiful. Definitely worth checking out but would sit in the bar next time. Btw, get your wallet but probably worth it!!

Yelp
The ambiance was warm and welcoming. Jess, who took our called-in reservation, welcomed us to Ruth's Chris, and was friendly and happy. We were then taken to a beautiful dining room. Our server was Nicholas. He was super nice and very knowledgeable about the drink menu as well as the food menu. He was attentive to our needs. He is definitely a good multi-tasker, and super efficient. The food was superb! The steaks stayed hot for the duration of our meal. The sise dishes were delicious. We had a wonderful dining experience at Ruth's Chris. Our server, Nicholas, was the best! Thank you, Ruth's Chris.

Yelp
Ruth's Chris in West Des Moines has the best steak I have ever eaten. With its formal and fancy atmosphere, you are greeted with exceptional service as soon as you walk in the door. All of the staff was incredibly kind and helpful both in getting us to our table and helping us find the right things to eat. For those that want to, there is complimentary valet parking at the front but also plenty of parking around where you can park yourself. As far as I experienced, you can't go wrong with anything on this menu. Custom drinks and cocktails were the first thing we noticed and Their barbecue shrimp and mashed potatoes were perfect start to our meal. And then the steak was divine. Served on ~500 degree plates with sizzling butter I could have cut my steak with a fork if I wanted too. The appetizers were all delicious as well but it's hard to want anything else after having one bite of the steak. The crème brûlée, cake, and bread puddings were all great options for dessert with the crème brûlée and the cake being our personal favorites. Come prepared to pay a decent amount for this meal but know that it is worth every penny.

Yelp
I want to love Ruth's Chris but it's disappointing considering the cost. The ambience is nice, decor is cool, service is up to par, however the steaks are just good, never great. The scalloped potatoes were cheesy, but bland. The petite steak, was definitely petite. The shrimp on top were good.

Yelp
A very sad Easter brunch: A crab cakes Benedict which was not a Benedict with no English muffin or the menu description arugula; a crab cake which was tiny and not a crab cake with no veg and just bland shredded crab. My sister's tiny filet had no sauce. Hugely overpriced for underwhelming fare.

Yelp
Vibes: Ruth Chris has easily become one of the hottest restaurants in the Des Moines metro. You definitely want to make your reservations at least a week in advance to secure your spot for a Friday/Saturday night. The ambiance is beyond luxurious and elegant, with the soft lighting, elegant décor, and great music. This location has an upstairs and a downstairs so plenty of seating. Definitely recommend for a special occasion or if you just want a luxurious experience. Service: Amazing. Our server was attentive and ensured we enjoyed our time. Food: The food was delicious! For an appetizer I started with the Lobster Voodoo which reminded me of rock shrimp. It was good but probably wouldn't be my top choice for an appetizer. I opted for the Filet with the sweet potato casserole, Hashbrowns, and Roasted Brussel Sprouts. The Filet just melted in my mouth, I added the BBQ butter, and it elevated the flavors perfectly. The Sweet Potato Casserole was the best side of the three, the flavors combined with the pecan crust were insane, definitely a must try. The hashbrowns were delicious as well, they were cooked with a crispy outer layer and fully loaded, they are not the best to reheat so make sure you eat them there. The Brussel sprouts had good flavor as well. Depending on how hungry you are, and the number of sides you get, the sides can be split with 2 people easily and 3 if you have more than one side. Pricing: It's Ruth Chris, lol premium pricing reflective of its upscale dining experience. Location/Parking: Located on the corner with plenty of parking and complimentary valet parking.

Yelp
Unfortunately on two different occasions my wife and I have had a meal here, and on both occasions the seafood won. 6 months ago my wife steak was overcook to well done having asked for medium, and my Sea Bass was amazing. The second occasion was lunch just a couple days ago, I ordered a steak bite sandwiches medium. One was perfect, and the other was cooked blue, and had a impenetrable fiber of gristle running through it. I would have asked for it to be corrected but our waited did not come back until we needed a bill, and did not bother to ask how the meal was after, and why I left an entire mini sandwich with a small reviling bit out of it. My wife crab cake sandwich was amazing. I've been fortunate to eat at some wonderful steak restaurants in my life, for the steak to fall short on multiple occasions at a STEAKHOUSE is a bit off-putting on coming back anymore. Perhaps the gimmick instead of a 700 degree plate should be to ask patrons to cut their meat in half and ask if it looks done to their liking? If I get a gift card, I will be back for the fish or crab cake sandwich.

Shane M.

Yelp
This was the best steak I've had at a restaurant! Got the new york strip and it was cooked to perfection! And the sweet potato casserole is literally a dessert! Sweet and tasty! Brussels sprouts were also amazing! Service was great as well, and was very welcoming! The only complaint I have is that my fiancé and I steak temperature were swapped, but it was not a big deal to us! We loved them still!

Yelp
Complimentary valet parking. Ambiance is classic and nice. Started with a classic old fashioned that was perfectly made. I had the filet which was perfectly cooked. They need to warn you not to touch the plate for a newcomers. ‍. I paired it with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Very complimentary combo. Finished with carrot cake and a small cheesecake. Service was top notch. Really above par. I look forward to my next visits!

Yelp
Incredible, amazing, excellence.... And every superlative I can think of!!!! We had a party of 8 and everyone raved about their meals and the service!

Parker P.

Yelp
What a disaster. We have been to this location a handful of times and had a great experience. However, this time the service was horrible and the food was worse. All 5 steaks were overcooked, the sides were lukewarm and it took 2 full hours. We sent one steak back that was grey in the middle when ordered medium rare. The consolation for the disaster was an out of season pumpkin flavored muffin. This was nothing short of an over priced clown show.

Yelp
I've been to Ruth's Chris in other locations over the years. When you think of this restaurant, other chains also come to mind... Morton's, Flemings, Capital Grille, etc. Basically, these are chains meant for business travelers with expense accounts; overpriced, nice atmosphere/environment, and attentive service. But the recently opened Ruth's in West Des Moines, IA better get their "stuff" together soon, or they will be a memory. My wife and I decided to have a night out and try the new Ruth's. We arrived at 6:30 pm and made our way to the upstairs bar area for dinner at the bar. Very few people were up there when we arrived, but over the course of the next 30 minutes, it started filling up. "Popular place" I thought, which is cool. We were hungry, so we placed our dinner order with our order of a bottle of wine ($58 for Alexander Valley Cab; again - overpriced, but hey, you're at Ruth's Chris). We ordered two steaks with vegetable sides (broccoli and creamed spinach). The wine promptly was delivered.... the rest.... ??? For over 45 minutes, we waited for two filets (6 oz and 8 oz) to be served with our veggie sides. The bartender was doing a good job displaying his own progressive frustration with the delay; he offered the obligatory "Your entree's are on the way", then shifting to the "I'm sorry for the delay, they're working on it" apology, to finally asking another employee to check on our meals because "these people have been waiting a long time" plead. Now, for the record, I know the bartender has little to do with the food service, so this is not a criticism of him. But I will say that he could have lit a fire under the butt of his "roaming around the room doing nothing" floor manager a lot sooner. Hint to Mr. Bartender the next time this happens! So, 45-minutes after we ordered at this "high-class" supposedly great service steakhouse, we get our meals. If you live in Des Moines or have plans to come here and want a good steak, just skip this place and head downtown to 801 Chophouse on Grand. Ok... enough of the plug (even though it's accurate)... back to the review. Our steaks were baked to temperature in the masking butter that RC is known for, but nothing special. Frankly, I've been to Longhorn and had equivalent. My wife's shrimp (she order the 6 oz filet with two shrimp) were overcooked. How can you tell, you ask? If you bite into shrimp and it chews like a dog chewing on a rubber bone, you can bet that it's overcooked. Perhaps its because it was just sitting there on a scathing hot plate with a butter-sizzling steak for probably 15 minutes longer than it should... I don't know! Finally, the best part (for Ruth's Chris)... the check! After the lousy service and average at-best food, they deliver a bill for $200!! They knew we had a bad experience, and they did not even offer, let alone INSIST, on a discount. No problem, Ruth... I'll make sure plenty of potential customers know about the level of "quality" that is found here. To all others: You've been warned!

Yelp
Attended a dinner meeting. First, VALET in the rain, yes please. Second, greeted and lead to the room by staff not just pointed in a direction. Bartenders friendly even though they were swamped. The room was comfortable, temperature wise. Now the food....we had a planned menu with choice of petite filet, chicken and salmon. I went with the filet, cooked medium, done to perfection. Apps, salad and sides were great as well. Dessert was sent home with us. Good job Ruth's Chris staff for realizing that we were all stuffed.

Yelp
My family and I really enjoyed our dinner, no matter the location, we can always depend on Ruth's Chris Steakhouse giving us a great dining experience

Yelp
My best friend and I hop in here for lunch. We did the course meal for lunch which was a great price. We got right in and the service was extremely attentive . The steak was cooked perfectly which is great because I never get it right. You must try the sweet potato casserole it is like a dessert. The lunch dessert cupcake carrot was to die for. The rest was pretty normal. Afterwards the waiter showed us around the place and it was absolutely gorgeous upstairs. Great ideas for birthdays wedding or baby/bridal showers. If you're in a rush for lunch try one of the quicker items.

Yelp
This is a gorgeous restaurant, we came here for a work dinner and was seated in one of their conference room. The ambiance is very classy, upscale and modern. Mushroom stuffed w crabmeat 5/5 - amazing! Crab meat pieces was perfectly seasoned with romano cheese. Petite filet & shrimp 4/5- filet was seasoned and cooked to perfection!! It does come on a sizzling 500° plate. The seasoned shrimp was a tad bland, it had a cajun/paprika (?) seasoning but could've used a little more flavor. Mashed potato was 3/5 nothing to rave about IMO. Creamed spinach 5/5 this is a must! Perfectly creamy and salty to compliment the main entree. Pomegranate martini 4/5.

Dale E.

Yelp
Service was excellent from start to finish! Food was awesome. Our server, Samuel was fantastic!!

Yelp
This was a great surprise. Customer service seems to be a forgotten feature in Des Moines. Make sure you get Sam, what an incredible server! He shows up at the exact right time and knows how to serve you in a way that you hardly even notice he is there. Great night, great food, and great wine!

Yelp
This is a fantastic steak house . Posh ambience but quiet today . I had Pam at front of house and Elizabeth serving us. Both were fantastic and very welcoming. The steak was done to perfection and the lobster bisque was amazing. Compliments to the Chef. To sum it up it was a fantastic meal with fantastic staff making sure we were well cared for. Good job and I'll be back

Yelp
Arriving at Ruth's steakhouse for my wife's birthday, we got one of the last parking spots (thank God) there were valet drivers opened the entrance doors for us. The hostess treated us like royalty and seated us right away. Looking around, it felt like we were in Vegas in a fancy restaurant- fancy with cool chandeliers and a cool vibe. The pics don't compare to how good the food actually is. We started off with some complimentary bread and butter- some of my favorite I ended up getting a 2nd that I didn't need for our drink we ordered a bottle of the catenna malbec- not high end but we really liked it and will be keeping an eye out for it in the stores. For our app, we ordered the sizzlin blue crab cakes that were served with a sizzlin lemon butter (pic attached -highly recommended) they were thicker than I'm used to but possibly the best I've had. They tasted fresh like we were on the coast. Crispy on the outside, softer lump crab cake in the middle. We also got the wedge salad and had them drizzle blue cheese and balsamic- (pic attached) very good! For our entrees, my wife ordered the NY Strip with the truffle crust entree compliment (also highly recommended- pic attached. We ordered it medium and it came out sizzlin on a hot plate. It was one of the best stakes we've ever had! Very tender not one tough spot. I ordered the lobster Mac n cheese ( also pictured) I also highly recommend that. They're generous with the lobster, not overwhelmingly generous but the perfect amount. We ate not even half of our entrees because they're such generous portions especially with everything else. For our dessert, we ordered the made in house carrot cake. No regrets with this. Nice and dense with the perfect amount of frosting. A huge slice that we couldn't quite finish. I highly recommend this place especially for a special occasion. The service is amazing! Elizabeth was our waitress and she was great! HELPFUL TIP: if you sign up for rewards before your birthday, you get a free app for signing up and a free dessert for your birthday with all of that deducted, we still spent $190 before tip but we could've split an entree and everything else.

Yelp
Best experiences I've ever had. The food was fabulous. The service was fabulous and the atmosphere was great. I highly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely be going back the next time. I'm in Des Moines.

Yelp
The opening of Ruth's Chris brought this yelper out of retirement! This is hands down...for now...the best steakhouse in Iowa. Beats Fleming's, beats 801.. Amazing. Started with a Caesar which was good. Well dressed but not phenomenal. Then shared the porterhouse with my wife. They could get a little more polished in how they serve the porterhouse, but nonetheless, it was amazing. Bit into the filet and it literally melted in my mouth. It was one of those moments where when you take a bite of food everything else becomes silent as all your senses are focused on that one bite. Freaking amazing! The steak was so good that honestly even though they underwhelmed with dessert I still give them five stars. Ruth Chris you need some kind of chocolate lava cake. You can't end a steak dinner with just a regular piece of cake it needs to be something melty with ice cream. But even still, even though I had to get the white chocolate bread pudding which was pretty darn good. I still give you five stars because that porter house was one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. Now if your steaks weren't so great, I would criticize how the larger dining room looks like the cafeteria on a cruise ship. Honestly it looks kind of cheap and the shower curtains over the wine bottles don't help. Now the bar and seating area on the third floor, now that's classy. Wish we had Sat there instead. Still because your steaks are so amazing. You get five blazing stars!. Welcome to Des Moines Ruth's! Chris, where have you been?

Yelp
Eehhh I have been to some very nice steakhouses and this isn't one. Service was horrible. Food was decent but way overpriced for the establishment. If you're going to categorize this place as a "high end" steakhouse and have a business attire requirement then I expect just that. Waiter didn't even introduce himself. We waited over 5 minutes for even water and to see someone. Our main meal took 40 min after we ordered. An orange wasn't put on for our blue moon. He came back with them on toothpicks carrying them :/ ehh plate? Didn't explain the menu at all. Was not professional with language. Just don't categorize yourself as a high end steakhouse when you're not. We literally paid the same price ($10 off) from a HIGH end steakhouse in Scottsdale. One and done here. Need better management to hold their servers accountable and teach them what a professional/high end steakhouse truly is. We also went out for my husbands birthday and never once was offered a birthday dessert for him but was brought out a cold brown circle turd looking dessert with red sauce on it "complimentary" lol Don't waste your money. Would much rather go to SIMONS!!

Michael L.

Yelp
We enjoyed an anniversary dinner here. The food was good, not "amazing". Georgie had a ribeye and I had sea bass. The steak was a bit overcooked around the edges but the middle was excellent. The Sea Bass was good but not as tasty as what I've had at Gordan Ramsey's in KC. The SERVICE was amazing. Our server was Zach and he was spot on. The dinning room was lovely however I'd ditch the TV over the bar on the first floor and switch the music to Sinatra, Williams, Jones....it's a classy place. Thanks for the opportunity to share.

Yelp
I didn't want to give this place another bad review and I held back from my last visit, but I've been to this place three times, and all three times it hasn't been good. I want this place to win! I want this place to be perfect, but it's never been good. Look at this gumbo! It looks store-bought. I told the mamager and he just said that he will let the chef know.

Yelp
Visited Ruth Chris on a Sunday evening. There were three other parties there during our visit and we were all sat right next to each other in a large dining space that was otherwise empty. It took five to 10 minutes to get water. Another five to ten for a drink order to be made. I was done with my meal an hour and 45 minutes after I sat down. It then took another hour to get the bill, which wasn't correct, 20 minutes to fix the bill and when they were dropped off no apology, no have a good evening come back again, nothing. The food was ok. My steak was a good cut but poorly seasoned. One member of our party said the butter was the highlight. The crab cakes were very good. I doubt I will be returning.

Yelp
We went to lunch at Ruth's Chris in WDM and it was excellent! Our filets were cooked perfectly, food was delicious, and service was outstanding. The prices are reasonable at lunch and I would highly recommend you try it. Be sure to take a tour of the restaurant......beautiful! Also want to add, we ate at Johnny's Steakhouse, in Altoona, last week and our filets were tough, and food was less than average. For about the same money.....go have lunch at Ruth's Chris!

Yelp
We've been to Ruth's Chris In Minnesota several times- but this was our first time in the newly opened Des Moines location! Just as we remember it! Amazing food and service! So excited to have this restaurant in the Des Moines metro area!

Lilly F.

Yelp
very good very delicious, very OVERPRICED. u can definitely go to outback for the same thing. great atmosphere and friendly. but not a place to go to all the time .

Duane H.

Yelp
Don't bother. WORST RC I have been (been to 4). Slow service, chandelier lights went on early...told nothing could be done about it. Appetizers were lukewarm. Drinks were average. You're much better off headed to 801 downtown. This particular RC is clearly living off it's reputation & feels its location will make up for it's downfalls.

Yelp
Exceptional service can truly elevate a celebration. David S. created an unforgettable experience as we celebrated my fiancé's birthday. Would highly recommend this top-notch restaurant for any special occasion and making it a go-to destination for steak enthusiasts! The ambiance says it all. Thank you, David!

Yelp
They'll charge you $100 for a steak but won't let you wear a hat indoors. I picture the owners as the type of individuals who might enthusiastically run for leadership positions in their local HOA.

Yelp
The husband surprised me with an anniversary dinner. He made reservations, but never told them why we were celebrating. Our server Krystal made our experience magical. She said that they normally scatter rose petals on the table, but this rose was so perfect, she asked how I wanted it. We started with the stuffed mushrooms- basic mushrooms, nothing special and honestly I wouldn't order them again at $21 - we should have tried the BBQ shrimp or the salads that looked amazing on other tables. The husband ordered the double bone Berkshire pork chop - this was huge! Cooked to a perfect medium well, and was delicious. He also ordered the asparagus. It was great, thick pieces, but we decided that we like them a little charred more. I ordered the bone-in ribeye. Let me preface that I like beef a lot. I'm not fancy, I'll enjoy a well-cooked sirloin as much as a filet. My only issue is gristle and fat. As such, I never cook ribeyes at home. But I thought if ever there was a time to give a ribeye another try, this was it. And I was not disappointed! Easily one of the best steaks I've ever had, anywhere. Cooked to a perfect medium with fat rendered and very little waste. I ordered the Creamed Spinach- when in Rome. It was magnificent - and I would recommend it to everyone. Portions were plentiful - I had plenty leftover for lunch today. The ambiance was lovely with modern classical finishes and mood lighting - some treasures to be found scattered throughout. The tables were the perfect distance away to keep conversations intimate but to still spy on others' food choices. Total before tip was $198. There were less expensive options - a classics menu that included a starter and a side with a choice of 3 different filets. I'm not a huge fan of filets. Though after the ribeye, I'd probably try it from Ruth's Chris. Honestly, the food quality was amazing, as was the quantity. The level of service was spectacular. You're paying for the experience as well as the caliber of food and service. It's worth it.

Yelp
This restaurant is new to West Des Moines Iowa but there are many around the US. I have eaten at over six different Ruth Chris from California to Minnesota. This one in West Des Moines is my new favorite. The steaks are literally the best I've ever had. Make sure to ask for mushrooms on the steak. Follow that with the asparagus and mashed potatoes. I met my niece for dinner there who I haven't seen in years and she is still talking about it. The ambience was amazing as well as the menu choices. Our waiter Alex was incredible. The wine list is extensive as well. I live in Omaha but I believe I will be making many more trips just for dinner. To be on the safe side I would make reservations as once the word gets out it will be very popular.

Yelp
Well where do I start! The service was exceptional however the steak was life changing. I really could not believe the tenderness and flavor of the steak! It is delivered to the table on a 500 degree plate. It is sizzling when it arrives. It is quite a presentation, really! The complimentary bread was super delicious and the salad was wonderful too! The desserts were great. I had the carrot cake and crème brûlée. I generally do not prefer the crème brûlée but is was so incredible. I ate every last bite, wow! The restaurant was beautiful and it is two level with lots of party rooms, bars and dining areas! If you are looking for a lovely evening I would highly recommend this place. You MUST make a reservation to make sure you can get it. It is totally worth it, I promise!

Yelp
Rude and judgemental staff. Over priced and overrated. Honestly, I was excited for the experience but due to the horrendous treatment we left before even placing an order. I will never return. Don't waste your time.

Yelp
Melt in your mouth delicious steaks. This is also an experience. We have had lovely experiences at other area restaurants as well. Skip the lobster bisque and keep your focus on the steak. We have had Flemings, Johnny's, 801 and Outback and others in between. Flemings and Johnny's are definitely NOT worth the price. Ruths Chris is USDA prime, nicely seasoned and proprietarly prepared in their 1800 degree oven served to you on a 500 degree plate which feels delightful in the middle of winter. This results in a beautifully cooked, melt in your mouth steak. We had Kate as our server. She was delightful, attentive, knowledgeable, and had good recommendations. There is also a great range of wine and other drinks to choose from to accompany your meal. The bread is warm, crusty, soft and wonderful. Don't forget to save room for dessert. I recommend the creme brulee as it is properly carmelized on top and served at the perfect temp. This is my favorite place to get it from. I would also recommend the flourless chocolate cake, which was rich and fudgy with an upfront coffee taste that was mellowed by the time you swallowed your bite. While I couldn't afford to dine here often, it makes it more enjoyable when I do come here.

Yelp
Recently visited the new West Des Moines location after months of being open. Had a early dinner reservation that we had made in advance. However, when arriving to the restaurant, this did not appear to be necessary, even though we were guided to wait several minutes before being seated to our table, which was located on the second floor, empty dining area. We were the only couples located there. Order the refreshing organic cucumber cocktail. For me, we had a ribeye steak and crabcake which were cooked to perfection. However, I had requested the starter fortune, and the server had entered and served the dinner size portion, which was not exactly what I ordered. And she did not attempt to make any adjustments and he stated that they always serve the three serving for patience that request it served as the entrée. There's my first time there I was done the wiser.

Yelp
We celebrated our anniversary and my birthday last Friday at Ruth Chris Steakhouse in West Des Moines. Samuel, our waiter, was amazing. Food was excellent. All staff were so sweet asking us how it was and wishing us a happy anniversary. They all seemed like they cared and made the experience amazing. Prompt service. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
The food and ambiance were wonderful. We visited on a Sunday and had the entire upstairs dining area to ourselves for a party of two. Our waiter, Kevin, was exceptional. He skillfully catered to our requests and needs, surpassing our high expectations with his outstanding service. Kevin truly made our first visit unforgettable, providing top-notch service throughout. I enjoyed the lamb chops, while my spouse savored the rib eye. Although the chimichurri sauce was unavailable, as they didn't have it on the menu, but the chef surprised us with a sensational salsa verde sauce that exceeded all expectations. We also had other requests as well and our waiter, KEVIN, was able to accommodate to it. We lament not having the opportunity to express greater gratitude to Kevin upon leaving the restaurant, as we believe he truly deserves commendation for delivering exceptional 5-star customer service. We trust that he will come across this message and recognize the depth of our appreciation for his outstanding service! Perhaps our exceptional experience was due to the quieter Sunday compared to a busier day, but we are thrilled with our first visit and eagerly anticipate returning. For those planning to dine there, I highly recommend requesting KEVIN as your waiter - he is truly exceptional! THANK YOU KEVIN and RUTH CHRIS for making our experience amazing and memorable !!! #GIVEKEVINARAISE

Yelp
Food was good but there are better steak options in the metro. I think the one thing that sets this place apart is the wait staff. Everyone went above and beyond to make it a great experience for my family.
