Ruth Café in Malmö is such a charming spot for a slow and cosy fika. It has that relaxed Scandinavian vibe that makes you want to sit down, take your time, and enjoy something sweet with a warm drink. I visited after hearing so many good things and I can see why people love it. The café feels welcoming from the moment you walk in, with a mix of locals, students, and travellers all taking a quiet pause from their day.
Their pastries are good, especially if you enjoy classic Scandinavian flavours and textures. The selection is attractive and everything looks freshly made. Personally, I prefer my pastries to be served a little hotter. A warm pastry always feels more indulgent and comforting, but that is just my own preference. Even so, the taste was enjoyable and the quality was evident.
The hot chocolate surprised me in a pleasant way. It has a distinct nutty flavour that gives it more depth compared to the usual sweet and creamy versions you find elsewhere. It feels like something crafted with intention rather than a standard drink. It pairs beautifully with the pastries and really completes the fika experience.
The atmosphere is calm, the service is friendly, and the overall experience makes Ruth Café a lovely stop if you are exploring Malmö. It is a nice place to unwind, enjoy a hot drink, and take in the local café culture. I would still recommend it, especially for anyone who enjoys discovering small cafés with personality and charm.
