Miami’s New Restaurant Openings - Miami - The Infatuation

"Edgewater might not have an exciting restaurant scene, but we’re starting to see cool coffee shops open around the neighborhood. The latest one has lavender lattes, pastries, empanadas, and a DJ booth they occasionally use to spin records." - mariana trabanino

Decided to stop in, as this place does coffee and matcha and got the Pablo coffee and Matcha con Calma (a fan favourite apparently). Both were excellent: not too sweet but still that hint to combat the bitterness in coffee and matcha. Line was long on a Sunday and not the fastest moving but staff were very helpful and didn’t wait too long after placing order. Pastries were warmed but limited selection. Definitely the drinks were the highlights, as they should be, and can get everything iced or warm. Forgot to take photos of our drinks but the cups for dining in were very nice. Ambiance is really nice, with a definite modern desert vibe. Saw people working and just chatting so could be a good spot for remote work during the week. There is WiFi. Some outdoor seating but not in the shade (at least in the morning). Also very convenient location near El Paseo and liked supporting a local business for great drinks over a chain. Would definitely come back and keep it in mind for when people visit!

Google
I recommend the Sueño with oatmilk I had two on my first visit. They top your coffee with Garnishes like you would at an upscale bar. Its about a $1 higher than others but quality is warranted. Great space to come study or enjoy a great cup of coffee and catch up. The decor is minimal, concrete and clean. There is a great use of space with the center bench planter. There is plug outlet for each table so you can charge your device while you wait or study. They have do have some outdoor seating to enjoy the weather. Great to have a coffee shop near by aside from a major chains. Looking forward to weekend coffees here.

Google
Rutina Coffee is a cool new spot in Palm Desert that’s perfect for coffee lovers! The vibe is lively, especially on a busy Sunday morning, but expect a bit of a line. The coffee, particularly the Spanish or Mexican version, is delicious. Their bakery items like the raspberry brioche are also tasty treats. There’s plenty of seating and parking available, although a little more seating would be nice during peak times. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Prices are somewhat high, but overall, Rutina Coffee is a great addition to the area and worth a visit!

Google
their only latte i enjoy is their iced sueño , but they are inconsistent. the iced drinks you really can’t mess up but the past two times I’ve gone for a hot sueño latte it’s been horrible, they don’t steam their milk properly it’s way to airy not at all wet paint like velvety latte and it’s pricey too, which i don’t mind paying for but for the price I’d hope they would make them right. Aside from that the place is very pretty!

Google
really great service. all the baristas check in and they are friendly and overall helpful. no snobbiness. very quick too. there was a line and they got through everything very diligently. i got a matcha con calma, a spanish latte and a cheese danish. the danish was a little undercooked. but the matcha was more on the grassier side which i like. the oatmilk gave it the perfect sweetness. the spanish latte was so yummy. my new favorite

Google
This is genuinely the best coffee in the valley. I love all their lattes, def try the Sueno with oat! The owners and staff are so nice and welcoming. There’s plenty of seating space.

Google
Decent, it’s what Palm Desert has been waiting for but it doesn’t meet up to the expectations on the west end of the valley. Some of the pricing is a bit steep but it falls in line with standard pricing. They did run out of whole milk when we were there but it was the soft opening for all is forgiven. The lower rating is bc I had no idea what kind of beans they used and they don’t have a short cup for an Americano. You really have to understand that coffee people want the flavor rather than dilution.

Google
Best coffee I’ve had in the Coachella Valley so far. The Ethiopia Pour Over was excellent, as were the pastries. Very unassuming on the outside, but cool and modern on the inside. Staff were very friendly too!

Yelp
The one decent place to get matcha in this area. I got the blueberry matcha and it was good, but a bit too sweet for my taste and that's coming from someone who prefers matcha on the sweeter side. I also wasn't the biggest fan of the blueberry skin pieces, wish they were fully blended. Regardless, it was still a good matcha drink with good flavor. It was also pretty smooth. The interior was nice and aesthetic and there were WiFi and outlets making this a good spot to work/study in. I definitely would come back if I were in the area and would like to try their speciality coffee drinks.

Yelp
Saw this place & decided to make a quick stop on my lunch, so cute! From the bathroom to the coffee area, the lady who helped me was super nice & shared lots of useful information, thank you! I ordered a Cańa Latte, very good, a little strong for my taste, but easy fix, I added some 1/2 & 1/2 & it was great! She stated all their coffees have 2 shots... So maybe it was a bit strong or me ‍

Yelp
Found this gem of a coffee shop where its looks match the taste of their drinks. The service is quick and easy. Their menu is full of unique flavors and I liked they had a variety of matcha drinks if you're not a coffee person, like me. I tried their hojicha latte and the nuttiness combined with the matcha flavor was 10/10. There is ample seating whether it's to hang out with friends or work/study. Adding this coffee shop to my go to list!

Yelp
I discovered this coffee shop by accident in Palm Desert. I ordered the Sueno, which is espresso, juice from organic oranges, vanilla, and milk. What a truly unique and delicious drink it was. I've never had a coffee drink like that one before. Very memorable. The gentleman at the counter who took my order was friendly and helpful. The ambiance of this very stylish-looking and comfortable cafe was chilled and relaxing. The coffee shop is very generous in its use of space, so no one enjoying the cafe felt crowded. As coffee shops in the Palm Springs area go, this is one of the very best. It hits the mark on all points. (FYI, parking is easily available near the coffee shop and in the area.)

Yelp
This is a great coffee spot! We were looking for a place to get our daily coffee fix and this place seemed aesthetic with a creative menu so we paid a visit. The interior was pretty spacious and it offered a variety of seating: tables, counter, window, and a large centerpiece. It's also good for studying since it has outlets. I ordered the most popular, pablo latte, which was the perfect sweetness and came with a cinnamon stick. I also tried the seasonal caña latte which tasted similar to the Pablo, but slightly sweeter without the spices. The hojicha was pretty solid but the matcha was not my favorite despite the deep green color. It tasted a bit artificial and not high quality. Service was fine and the drinks came out in a timely manner.

Yelp
I was recommended to try Rutina by fellow Yelper Scott K. and I'm glad I did. The standout here is their creative, unique drink menu. I had the Hojicha Latte with roasted green tea, agave, and oat milk which was a really good balance of bitter and sweet. It's definitely a different kind of drink compared to most coffee shops. My friend got the Matcha Latte with agave and oat milk and said it was great too. We also had two pastries. Not sure what they were, but both were tasty. Service was friendly and quick. The place was packed on a weekday mid-morning, and every seat was taken. The parking lot is small and shared with other businesses, but there's likely street parking nearby.

Yelp
As a matcha connoisseur, the matcha here is to die for! It's minimalist but not flavorless unlike other places I have tried before. I had the Matcha Con Calma with Cream top. The matcha has a beautiful nutty flavor and the cream top is velvety fluffy soft and perfectly sweet. The amazing thing about this place is that they have simple syrup ready for you to adjust the sweetness of your own drink if you feel you need a litter more sweetness!

Yelp
For $6.50 for a tea, you should include steamed milk for free if your register "can't do it." I came here because of the tea I saw on the menu online. I ordered a black tea with steamed whole milk. The woman at the register said she did not have a way to add steamed milk. I blankly looked at her, as I have the menu in front of me that clearly includes coffee beverages with steamed milk. "You can't steam milk here?" I ask. She says "I don't have a way to add it in the register." "So you're telling me I can't get a tea with steamed milk?" "I can give you cold milk." That's how my experience at Rutina went. I'm accustomed to paying around $5 for a cup of tea anyway - which if you only drink tea like me, you know that's a huge markup already. But to tell me you can't steam milk because the register can't do it? Sorry, that's really lame customer service. I generally like to support only independent coffee, shops, but come on. 2026: 7/100

Yelp
Food- The matcha here is absolutely delicious! I love how it's smooth, but not too sweet. They have other specialty lattes, but we only come here for the matcha :) Service- The service here is always so kind, and patient. I always feel welcomed whenever I walk in. Every employee is so helpful when it comes to deciding what to buy here. Ambiance- The ambiance here is very minimal & classic. It kinda reminds me of coffee shops down in San Diego. I really like how open the cafe is with plenty of seating arrangements. Overall, great matcha & great vibes! Would definitely come back for a study or coffee date :)

Yelp
This place is very aesthetically pleasing. All of the employees are very kind! We got the cariño and a decaf oat milk latte both were great! The pastries looked yummy too!

Yelp
Beautiful.hip. Trendy. Delicious coffee. Friendly staff. Park out on the Main Street and walk.

Yelp
The drinks here are so good. We've been going even before they had their storefront and were just a cart at the Indio Saturday Farmer's Market. The vibe of the space is perfect too. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Went on a Sunday morning, tried the matcha latte and a cappuccino, was very good. There was a DJ playing chill music that morning. Was pretty cool too. Lot of space and nice deco, could hang out there for an hour easily. Will come back
google avatar

Yelp
This place is quaint and offers unique drinks. Music was a bit loud, making it difficult to have a conversation. I understand that almost nobody uses cash anymore, but for those of us who do, be prepared to not get exact change back. Apparently they don't have coins in their till, so I was shorted 70 cents. No big deal, but if you're not gonna carry change, consider changing menu prices to include tax and change to flat dollar amounts. The most important part is this a small local business that I am happy to support. Oh! And there's no upcharge for milk alternatives like at other cafes!

Yelp
Great coffee and vibe Love all the options and all of the pastries look delicious Lots of room to hang out and relax
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
The vibe here was great! I love how it's decorated, very cozy and chill. The matcha was great, very high quality. They hand whisk and measure the matcha and milk and I greatly appreciate that! I got the vanilla syrup added and it was great. Can't recommend this place enough.

Yelp
Visited Rutina because it was highly recommended by a few friends and colleagues. The space is very minimalist, sleek and has a very LA vibe to it. I loved that there were plenty of options for seating because we don't really get that a lot in this area. The menu is clear and they have so many great options! I was very happy with what we ordered. The coffee is enjoyable and flavorful! I will definitely visit again. The ONLY reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because most of available seating areas were dirty, I understand that it is a new place and their main focus right now is taking their time in creating their drinks, but I feel like they could've had someone walking around wiping down tables and engaging with the customers. I also feel like their customer service was lacking a bit, but maybe they feel like their product speaks for itself? :) All in all a good experience and I for sure will visit again.

Yelp
The coffee here is top notch. It's a pleasant spacious place and the staff are warm and friendly. I'm hoping to try pastries there.

Yelp
Visited the new space today and it's really beautiful- a minimalist atrium feel. Love that a specialty coffee shop planned for volume and adequate seating unlike others in the area. I ordered a small iced pumpkin latte and chose the smallest size which is... Very small... but I thought it was the perfect size for a second latte of the day pick-me-up. However, this latte that fits in the palm of my hand, is $7... yes.. $7. $8 with the minimum $1 tip that popped up on the screen. I mean... it was good but that's highway robbery. Note that I didn't choose a specialty milk either. This itty bitty latte is hilarious both in size and cost. Since I make a competitively good latte at home I'll probably just treat myself to Rutina every once in a blue moon. The cost for size is insane as a local to come regularly.

Yelp
I ordered the matcha con calma (vanilla matcha latte) and it was perfect! So good i had to go 2 days in a row! I am particular with my matcha and Rutina surely impressed me. The only downside I would say is the price-- a 16 oz was $9-- but they don't charge extra for oat milk! I also tried sips of their vanilla latte and fuyu matcha (persimmon matcha latte) and both were delicious too! Overall 10/10 reccomend if you are in the area!

Dakota S.

Yelp
Rutina is absolutely the best coffee in the Coachella valley. Every drink I've had from them has been perfect, and I've had a lot. They have so many specialty lattes and they're always balanced perfectly with just the right amount of sweetness. The baristas are super friendly and the aesthetic inside is super cute. It's so nice having a coffee shop whose quality is always excellent. Love them!

Yelp
such a gem. The moment you walk in, the space stops you in your tracks- it's stunning, thoughtfully designed, and just a genuinely cool place to hang out. The coffee itself is excellent (one of the best I've had in the area), and they serve it in cups that are as beautiful as they are functional, a small detail, but it makes the experience feel elevated. They also have really unique pastry options, and everything I tried tasted as good as it looked. On top of all that, the people here are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Great space, great coffee, great people -- that combination is hard to beat. I'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Cynthia M.

Yelp
Ordered an iced matcha with agave. I liked how it wasn't just all milk and you can really taste the matcha. The only downside was the price, which felt a bit high for the cup size.
google avatar

Floridian H.

Yelp
When I walked into this place it was the replica of buena matcha business up the street. Copy much? The atmosphere was nice. Glad to be able to actually sit down and relax versus the grab and go feeling. Did feel rushed while ordering and picking up my coffee. Beware if you ask for light ice or your drink will look like someone sipped on it or spilled some on the floor. This is exactly how buena matcha business on el paseo is with portions and light ice, and speaking of them seems like the two have a lot more in common than just the portions. Greedy much? I recommend you head down to our local IW Coffee or Everbloom where it's not only much cheaper, but their portions are more humble.
google avatar

Tiffany A.

Yelp
Coffee and the vibe were nice. Unfortunately the cashier was rude and unhelpful. I didn't ask for anything crazy- two items on the menu without any alterations, but it was clear she didn't want to be there and helping me.
google avatar

Karlee O.

Yelp
So I don't know if you guys are currently in the process of changing your hours but the last couple times I've tried to come in it's always closed by 3-4 and I always check business hours online and every time I've tried to come it's always closed so I really recommend maybe updating your hours it's pretty disappointing.

Amber C.

Yelp
Amazing coffee! Visit from LA for a friends birthday and they coffee and matcha are amazing!

Jessica R.

Yelp
My new favorite coffee shop in my area. I have yet to try all their speciality lattes but so far the Cariño is my favorite, but the Pablo is also good. The service is great, very friendly staff and helpful with recommendations when you're asking about their drinks

Daniela G.

Yelp
Their coffee is good! I had the raspberry danish, also really good. The dining area is open and spacious, perfect for a work/study sesh. My only feedback would be to have the menu available somewhere for people in line to see cause some did take a while to decide once they got to the front, which made the line pretty long. Once you order, the drinks come out pretty quick though!
google avatar

Izabella P.

Yelp
love the coffee and the aestetic the only thing that sucks they they should change is the one stamp per coffee if customers are spending $8 for a coffee vanilla w sweet cream they and have two other drink order they should offer 3 stamps instead of one !;(
google avatar

Bre F.

Yelp
SOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD!!! I'm so so happy they opened their doors. They are the nicest crew ever, and their coffee is INSANELY delicious. The Pablo and the cariño are our favorites. The place is truly so beautiful inside. We are so grateful to have a coffee shop this good with such kind staff in Palm desert! It's my new regular spot!

Kelly V.

Yelp
My daughter and I went in a couple weeks ago. For starters they weren't super friendly, the drinks were overpriced and I was very disappointed in the coffee flavor/texture. I don't mind paying good money for great coffee, as I do all the time because I love trying new shops, but this definitely was not it. I will never go back there.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
We love this coffee place... so good, great drink options and super nice people working there! (Great quality ingredients also.) We will be back again and again... can't wait to try the matcha next!

JL S.

Yelp
The first time I visited this place is fantastic. My friend recommended it. They have amazing coffee. They create drinks that I've never heard of before. The one I had was called suave and it was delicious. Nice Sprite atmosphere friendly people. I would highly recommend.

Juliana D.

Yelp
Best latte I've had in a long time and I tend to be a snob about these things! Excellent vibes and fun music

John M.

Yelp
staff 10-10 family owned amazing coffee . let's gooooooooo ask for Kevin mel or Sandy .

Yelp
Went to Rutina's pop-up at the Indio Farmer's Market! really incredible flavor, thoughtful flavor pairings and not super sweet. very nice people too.
