The 11 Best Hawaiian Restaurants to Try in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"The move at Rutt’s Cafe — one of Los Angeles’ longest-running Hawaiian restaurants with outposts in West LA, Azusa, and Gardena — is to arrive for breakfast. Since 1976, this Hawaiian restaurant has been serving local favorites, like Spam and eggs, and a kalua pig breakfast sandwich served over a sweet roll." - Kat Hong

Google
Craving a little Hawaiian food. Split a spam musubi with mom. Made to order, spam and rice were hot. I ordered three meat combo platters. Kalua pig, kal bi and Teri beef. Mac salad and rice were my side choices. Everything had good flavor. Wasn't disappointed. Mom ordered coconut shrimp and tonkatsu. Both were fired. On the dry side. Same sides as mine. This wasn't so good. Pork was cut very thin, so it dried out when fried. The shrimp had some flavor but dry as well. I'd say give them a try. Maybe taper your expectations a little. Clean and nice service. It was raining a little bit. They do have a little patio seating area.

Google
I had the mixed plate kalbi , chicken and kalua pork with Mac salad n rice for my first time here . Very tasty . I'm coming back to try more off their big menu!!!!!!

Google
Rutt's might be new to the area because this place has been around since 1976! A well pit together dining area awaits you in the patio. Great music. Friendly staff. Exceptional food. The katus was juicy and had a flavorful crust. The kalbi had a unique marinade that is worth coming in for. The macaroni salad was safe and nkt as bold as you can find other places. Clean restrooms and kid friendly. Not much pakring, so order take out once in a while!

Google
This is a new restaurant in our neighborhood and they serve our families two favorite types of food. Hawaiian and Mediterranean and they do both very well! After ordering they gave me a free sample, which was literally a meal all its own, to nibble on while I waited for my order. I'm incredibly impressed with this new hole in the wall shop. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Marissa

Google
Great menu and service, but food wasn't great quality. The pork was dry, grilled veggies were oily, and the fruit was old.

Google
Came with my son. A staple when I lived on the west side in Venice. First time at this location. Got the katsu/shrimp combo. 😬. Chicken was dry. Rice was old. Bland with no flavor. My son got French toast plate. He said it didn’t have any flavor other than syrup. I’ll give it another go in the future maybe but the food came out too fast which is not a great sign for fresh food. Service was odd.. she handed me the POS to do myself? It was was odd. Thinking back the experience was uncomfortable with our server.

Google
Excellent Hawaiian food, and incredibly large portions for reasonable prices. My wife's omelette was huge, their home fries are incredible - I think deep fried rather than pan/griddle fried, and so they have a wonderful crisp exterior and melt in your mouth interior. The side of roasted veggies she got was huge and they were equally delicious (she ate her omelette herself and didn't share ;) I had the loco moco and two spam musubi which was too much food for me - both wwee excellent. We both had some leftovers!

Joe Espo

Google
YES! I ate lunch there once and was instantly convinced it was the right place to cater my ~20 person party. They came through with 80 vegan spring rolls, so good. We also got multiple types of chicken, rice, veggies, etc. They really go the extra mile and give you serving utencils, sauce for the rolls, etc. The whole party was raving. So good.

Yelp
My family and I always come here whenever we are in the area and I've always loved the food here. My favorite thing to order here would have to be the Hawaiian Royal. However my experience today was so bad I had to leave a review. Idk what happened but the quality has gone down while the prices have gone up. Because it's Friday also known as payday I decided to treat myself and my coworkers to my favorite breakfast dish and DoorDash some food to my work around 8:30 this morning. When I went on my lunch break instantly I realized this is not the rice I am used. I'm Filipino so you know we know good rice. Portuguese sausage and chashu pork was so dry is was like beef jerky. Not only was the meat dry but the rice had no flavor! Did the cook forget to add soy sauce to the rice? Also it seems to be missing fish cake .. I ordered x3 fried rice plates 2 for my coworkers who I know did not like it. Keep in mind this was a doordash order ( 2 Hawaiian royals and 1 bacon royal) so it was over $60 after taxes and fees. Never going to recommend this place anymore.

Yelp
Ambiance: it's located near a busy intersection in South Bay, with limited private parking in front of the store, narrow indoor dining area with backyard outdoor seating, good for takeout as well Service: super friendly and patient with questions, made accommodation to specific requests Food & Drink: numerous items on the menu, classic Hawaii food selections The Original Hawaiian Royale - **** Portuguese Sausage and Char Sui (Chinese BBQ Pork), it's a good alternative to make it a Fried Royale, rich in flavors, recommend Loco Moco (Brown Gravy & Egg) - *** choice of grilled vegetables, the meat patty was light taste, gravy is very creamy, good combination of vegetables Pineapple Bread Pudding - **** served with vanilla ice cream, soft texture and sweet taste, recommend Sprite - *** canned soda Price: generous portions and affordable prices, about $20 per person for a very fulfilling meal

Yelp
Rutt's now serves Mediterranean food , which is new to me . I like what I have tried with the different sauces . The bakalava was also yummy.

Yelp
I am completely done with this location. If you are a person that cares about food safety, I would truly be mindful about patronizing this business. I ordered a Loco Moco through Uber Eats and had my order cancelled by the delivery driver. All good, not their fault. I go ahead and re-place the order almost two hours later. Prep time was all of five minutes and pickup happened within another 5 minutes. That seemed quick...? I receive my food and immediately look at the bag. The receipt is dated for two hours ago along with my previous order number, indicating this is the same order they made for me from almost two hours ago that was previously cancelled by the Uber Eats driver. One, the food is COLD as hell and two, after almost two hours of idly sitting, it is now a food safety issue and concern. Why would you not remake the order if I placed a brand new order??? Is being cheap worth risking a LOYAL customer's health with potential food poisoning by sending old beef and eggs that is no longer at room temperature? It's seriously a joke. And to think I previously praised this location for FRESH and HOT food?? Sheesh! Stick to the Culver City location, folks or consume at your own risk.

Yelp
4 years later and still great, just had the loco loco and I am stuffed and still have some for lunch tomorrow. Taste excellent, many menu items and I haven't even tried the breakfast menu. Service friendly and helpful . Mainly a take out or delivery, food always hot and fresh. Can't recommend it any more highly.

Yelp
I had Rutts cater my son's graduation party. All the food was delicious. Everyone asked where it was from. They delivered, brought it in hot.

Yelp
I usually order on door dash and the food is always good! My only complaint is the mac salad, I wish they had the potato mac salad some other places have lol but anyways, I always get the largest size and it keeps me full. I've never eaten there, but I have been there multiple times to pick up food on large orders for a party. The ambience inside is just like a small fast food diner, nothing special. I would recommend this place for some good Hawaiian street food that'll get you full!

Yelp
The best Hawaiian food in the area! Love the spam delight fried rice. The food taste very good and authentically close to the islands.

Yelp
We ordered Rutt's Hawaiian Catering for our son's luau-themed 2nd birthday party, and we're so thrilled with the service! The team was very communicative and open to our multiple changes in menu choices, they were very fast to respond, the price was very reasonable, and on the day-of, delivery was exactly on-time, friendly, and the food received RAVE reviews from our guests. We had ordered a tray of spam musubi, fried rice, & veggie spring rolls for about 60 people and it was the PERFECT amount of food. We are so delighted with our choice and will definitely be recommending them to others! Mahalo!

Carly L.

Yelp
I've used Rutt's catering for 3 different events now and it's been a huge success every time! Delicious food that the guests raved about, very helpful customer service, on-time delivery! Really my only "complaint" is that we've always had lots of food left over afterwards. Now I'm never sad about leftovers, but just a heads up that their portions are very generous and the amounts listed on their catering menu haven't necessarily been accurate to what my crowd has consumed.

Laeyneker G.

Yelp
Best auntentic hawaian food in soyth bay! Service it's was good, try their famous royales with their Home Made teriyaki sauce or fresh salsa if You like it spicy!

Evie W.

Yelp
I just bought Royal fried rice bacon and pineapple. I got only a few pieces of pineapple and a lot of burnt bacon. I called and they will replace it at another time but I may not buy anything else after replacement so beware!

Phebe A.

Yelp
Their food will never disappoint! Delicious, fresh, and generous portions! Staff is friendly and attentive, too.

Yelp
Customer service: 10/10 Food portions:10/10 Taste/ appeal : 10/10 This place is a hidden breakfast gem. Absolutely surprised it was empty on a Sunday morning. Food is sooooo good. I recommend the French toast!

A K.

Yelp
First time at this location! Ordered the large Portuguese sausage royale! That sucker was huge enough for 2-3 people. Very tasty next time I'm going to ask for an over easy egg on top . I will definitely be back soon!

Ana A.

Yelp
We bought the 24 person lunch. It was delivered to our home on time and hot. It was nicely packed and the also provided serving tongs and spoons. Our guests loved the food, especially the bbq chicken, macaroni salad, and veggie chow fun. It made our baby's 1st bday a hit. We will definitely be ordering with them again for a luau themed party or try the Mediterranean option.

Yelp
Love their breakfast here !! My gosh their little egg & cheese on sandwich on the Hawaiian bread with their sauce paired along with the macaroni salad & rice is everything ! This is like one of my breakfast combos when I'm craving something a lil different . They have a small dine in section & closer a bit early ! They have their own parking , line along front of their restaurant. Always get the same lady when I go & she is super nice ! Def one of my favorite breakfast spots.

Yelp
I really liked this place. The food was in large quantities and very dense. The flavor was very strong and tasty. But the food is unhealthy so don't recommend having it often

Marina C.

Yelp
The ordering process was easy . Great food value and they food was delicious . Big hit for my gathering

Yelp
Went for lunch. I've eaten at the LA cocation, first time at the Gardena one. Very friendly waitress seated us. The location doesn't have much parking. The lunch special was spam loco moco and I gave it a try. The gravy was very good. Came with two eggs and a kings hawaiian sweet roll. We also ordered the royale hawaiian rice. Both plates were huge. What a deal for $26. Friendly service, laid back atmosphere and good comfort food. Nothing to complain about. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Stacy S.

Yelp
I had been to the Rutt's in LA many times, but this was my first time at their Gardena location. Upon arrival, I was happy to see that they have their own parking lot. This is a fast casual restaurant where you order at the cashier and find a seat or take your food to go. They have several tables inside and more outside in their enclosed patio area. The environment is old, outdated and somewhat dirty. They have a large menu of local Hawaiian plate dishes, from well-known breakfast foods like loco moco and Portuguese sausage to typical plate lunches like lau lau and kalua pig. They also have a variety of "Royales" which they are famous for. It's basically a scrambled omelet over rice. The guy at the cashier was super friendly and I felt the aloha spirit. Food came out fast, and I'm not sure if it's because there were few people there or if that's just the way they roll. I ordered the Hawaiian French Toast with Portuguese sausage and sunny eggs. The French toast wasn't as thick as I thought it'd be, but it was still decent. The Portuguese sausage was the star of the show. It was cut and cooked perfectly. It was a huge breakfast for just $9.45, which is an excellent value, however the food in general was just average. It seems they're really trying to push the catering side of their business, and I can see how that would be a good choice for large parties, as their food is decent and their prices are reasonable. Check them out if you're in the area and see what you think!

Yelp
Glad there is not a shortage of Hawaiian restaurant options in the South Bay of greater LA. We actually came across this place as a 2nd option. My mom was craving a dish from a local restaurant that is not available through the delivery service app. I've driven by here a number of times and decided why not? Mom was good with her loco moco. Is it Rutt's her favorite loco moco? Not really but, for today it will do. As for me and the Mr., he got the kalbi and pork plate w/a mac salad. 3 stars from him. My plate was the shrimp royale and mac salad. Mine was a large portion for a regular plate. Others seemed to like the royale dishes here. For me, not excited about it. Bland, lackluster flavor. Relieved that they included 3 teriyaki sauce containers to give it a little help. Their salsa though is good and has kick in it. I would give them another shot and perhaps try breakfast items. Mahalo!

Mary M.

Yelp
First time here. Found this based on Yelp reviews and convenient location. Very happy with food and service. Plenty of seating Saturday mid-morning. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Sokha L.

Yelp
Just had brunch here. This morning was quiet. We were the first customers around 9am. Waitress was nice and attentive. Catered to our needs. We wanted a fruit cup with watermelon for our friend's kid and she brought out a fruit cup that didn't have watermelon. So the waitress went back to go find some watermelon and brought some out for our little kid. Our little kid also didn't like seasoning on their fries and so she took the fries back and provided us with some fresh fries. Patient and friendly. My dish was flavorful and a huge portion for about $16. Definitely would come again.

Yelp
Save your money...go to Waba Grill or Waikiki Grill. FIRST OF ALL the cashier charges my card 87 bucks for someone else's order and doesn't know how to refund it ...20 minutes later the boss or whoever she calls sends a voided ticket to my cellphone and tells her to be sure to charge me AGAIN...so I think I was double charged for this mediocre food I won't know until Monday morning when my bank shows all the actual activity. They should have comped my meal for the hassle. THATS THE LEAST THEY COULD HAVE DONE! I value service and quality much more these days so I'm never going back here. The tacos were like yarn soaked in watery bbq sauce! It's a NO for me!
google avatar

James S.

Yelp
Decent Hawaiian food. It's more on the authentic side because it is kinda dirty. Mac salad is bland I wish it was better.
google avatar

June V.

Yelp
Grabbed my BF a Hawaiian Royal, extra meat. It was a lot of food already, without the extra meat, so..... TBH, I could have just ordered regular. I placed my order online, which was easy. As soon as I arrived, my order was waiting on the counter. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly and inviting. This was a Saturday morning & the establishment was clean and tidy, not a whole lot of people. Now........ just because I strive to be as honest as possible. My BF did eat this as left overs the next day and felt the meat was a bit too dry after heating up. He & I both know that usually this entire platter would have been eaten SAME day, so this issue would not have otherwise been an issue.

Yelp
I have been to their Culver City location, but that was over a decade ago, so when I learned they had a spot in the South Bay, I had to check them out. I had a little bit of time to burn so I decided to forego ordering online and just do it in person. Parked up front, walked in, stood behind a couple of customers ahead and me and found myself up front in no time. Put in my order for a party of 4 and verified they had my order right using the order screen right up front. (Love that, btw!) Food is made to order (which is always desirable) so the wait was reasonable. I got to look around a bit and found dining in is an option. Space is limited, though, given the pandemic. I took my time to look around as I waited. They do have limited seating available inside as well as outside. My order was ready and I was on my way out not too long after. Gotta say it was a little torturous driving home with that mouthwatering aroma lingering in the car! It's a good thing I don't live too far! Unpacked the goodies and the house smelled delicious! Although everyone had their own individual orders, we all shared a little bit of our food with each other. Oh, the excitement to dig in! SPAM MUSUBI: As expected but nothing out of the ordinary. A pretty good starter. KALBI: Like the spam musubi, it is as expected, but delicious. Great marinade and seasoning on the meat. Grilled tender and juicy. There were 2 orders of these: one with macaroni salad and the other with green salad. Had a taste of the mac salad and it was delicious! I would have liked to have tried the green salad except THEY FORGOT IT. So, yeah, we were missing a while side. LOCO MOCO: It's a pretty big order for a regular! This is the one item I wanted to order but since someone else got it, I figure I'd try it. Sadly, I didn't get to. I'm not sure why, I think I was busy with the kalbi... definitely getting it next time, though! SHRIMP ROYALE: I (still) have no idea what a Hawaiian royale is, so I figured I'd try one of theirs. Ordered their shrimp version without sprouts. Had I known it came with broccoli, I would have had that taken out, too. I will admit this will have a bad verdict: I DID NOT LIKE IT. It was incredibly bland. The whole thing didn't have any flavor. Even that side of teriyaki sauce couldn't save it, so I wouldn't recommend this. (I did a little research and I probably should have ordered their original. Keeping that in mind for next time.) FOOD: 3. (My particular order would have been a 1, but everyone else liked their food so an average rating is only fair.) SERVICE: 3. Friendly staff, however, they forgot the side salad to go with one of the kalbi orders. That is never good. VALUE: 2.5. I felt it was kinda pricy given the missing salad and my bland food. PARKING: Five spots available up front. Not sure what the back looks like. OVERALL: 2.75. (Really close to a 3, but not quite.) I was expecting a better experience, but this first was almost average at best. I do intend to come back, though, and try other things on their menu. I expect they'll do better then. Speaking of menu: as I looked through it while waiting for my order, I was handed another, unveiling they now serve Mediterranean food. (They were called Rutts Hawaiian Cafe on my visit just a couple of days ago.) I feel I they deserve another chance, so I would still return. The online order discount is appealing enough for a second visit. Hoping for a better experience then.

Yelp
Food was fresh and yummy. I like a tad bit more seasoning/soy sauce or sriracha however that's a personal preference. Service was friendly and helpful.
google avatar

Yelp
I had a last minute catering order they were able to accommodate me and deliver as well the food was amazing as always I always use them for catering my big events and small gatherings. I just want to say always call the Rutts in Gardena directly if you need any last minute catering orders they are always so helpful and the food is so good thank you guys so much

Yelp
Food was not so good. I tried it at work for a catered event and then went back to try it again. The portions were small for price of meal.

Yelp
I rarely give out a one star review but what I ordered today...half of it went into the trash can. The only thing I liked was the Kings Hawaiian roll. Or maybe it was a roll they made? If so, that's what gives them the one star. I got their Loco Moco ($13.45) with mac salad and two eggs over easy. Onions were about an extra dollar, so I opted out of that. When I first opened the container I couldn't see anything but the gravy and two eggs. Okay, here I go. The first bite was like eating nothing. No taste whatsoever. I'm glad there wasn't too much salt in it, but at the same time, there was no flavor. No richness of the gravy or umami from the meat. Even the rice tasted bland. I've never tasted rice like this before it was so bland. Even when I tried eating it with kimchi, it was awful. Their mac salad was weak. Again, not salty, but no taste. I don't even know if they used mayo in this dish. No onions, carrots, potatoes, pepper (unless they used white pepper), no nothing. I haven't a clue how they made this dish, but it was so bland I threw it away after a few more bites. (PS the one that's pictured looks like there is something else in it...the one I was eating I threw out before I took a pic of it). My husband ordered the BBQ Chicken Plate ($11.95) with home fries and mac salad. The sauce for the chicken was sweet. Too sweet. So sweet it wasn't edible. The potatoes were kind of hard and tasted just okay with the salsa they gave with it. Salsa? I thought that was an odd choice for a Hawaiian restaurant. That tasted bland too. Gardena has more Hawaiian places to eat at so I think I'll take my business elsewhere.
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
We got the spam royale and added kimchi. They were super patient with us while we mulled over what to eat. Very mellow vibe at restaurant too.

Dina D.

Yelp
Best in town. Great authentic Hawaiian food. Great service and friendly staff. The ambiance is very nice.

Yelp
love love love!! My friends and I went here for the first time and everything was awesome from the minute we walked in! We didn't expect to dine in until We were welcomed by a gentleman named Rolando who was so so pleasant! Rolando sat us and was so great at taking our orders and navigating the menu for us as first timers. The food was amaaaazing. Perfectly seasoned and super tastey. Everything we ordered was delicious. Such a refreshing experience and really a must for anyone who is looking for great food and Hawaiian done right. One last shout out to Rolando who is seriously such a joyful human and amplified our experience. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Out for lunch with family and decided to have hawaiian. First time to this place. Parking lot is quite small...only a handful of spaces in the front. Walk on to the food counter and a row of small tables. Further back is an outdoor dining area with 3-4 tables for larger parties. Sat in the outdoor patio and server was prompt and courteous. No paper menus available at this time so we looked up the menu on our phones. Ordered bbq chicken bowl, Portuguese sausage Royale and Portuguese sausage burrito. The chicken bowl was a good portion, bed of rice with chicken and veggies. Only thing...the flavor was just ehh. The Portuguese sausage Royale is pretty big, a regular may be two small meals. Flavorful with a good combo of veggies. The burrito had the same great flavor. Overall, i would definitely consider coming back here again

Yelp
I've checked out Rutt's before for their Hawaiian cuisine but was definitely intrigued to find out that they are now serving Egyptian/ cuisine now. Rutt's has now introduced Tut's Grill items to their menu! For this month of June I saw they were offering buy 1, get 1 of their gyro bowls and decided to go try it! This was definitely a great deal! Their gyro bowls are a little over $8 and so with the deal you can get two for that price! Not only was it a great deal; I found the gyro bowls to be quite delicious. The rice was quite flavorful. The gyro was perfectly tender. The garlic sauce along with the spicy sauce enhanced everything even more. Dare to say...I think I enjoyed the Mediterranean cuisine here even more than the Hawaiian food! (Please don't get me wrong their Hawaiian cuisine is ok but their cuisine really stuck out in flavors for me!) I'm happy to see the menu expanded to include fresh, authentic Egyptian/ cuisine and already planning to be back for their shawarma!
google avatar

Yosmar J.

Yelp
Chicken Teriyaki!! I finally gave this "hole in the wall" restaurant a try and I'm happy I did so! Had their Teriyaki Chicken with steamed white rice and Macaroni salad. The chicken was amazing, unlike many other places their chicken isn't burnt (super plus for me). Their macaroni salad was different than your standard salad. It was creamy and very tasty. They also offer Happy Hour deals from 2-4 ( I believe) in which they offer discounted food. Quesadilla, vegetable rolls, etc. Do anticipate a wait in time so I recommend to call in your order
google avatar

Tash N.

Yelp
Humongous portion. Lack of taste. The manager came over and asked me how I liked the food. I replied it was so bland. He didn't offer any apology or anything. Just walked away without saying anything. Ambiance was poor I was alone in a Sunday morning there were no other customers. Priced too high this is a working neighborhood prices not for the average Joe. For your Hawaiian fix go to Gardena Bowl or L&L.
google avatar

Howard F.

Yelp
I'm a fan. The Wifey and I were driving by and decided to stop for a Sunday morning breakfast. It was pretty packed with the take out crowd, but we were seated right away and given menus, along with taking our drink order. Stellar service! The food was delicious and LARGE portioning. Drink refills were offered and accepted. So much variety on the menu, I tried the Island saimin , which took me back to my youth in Hawaii. Delicious food, super friendly, and a great value for your dollar.
google avatar

Leana P.

Yelp
Great food, was feeling like I wanted a little bit everything and they accommodated me. Put hash browns on my royal and it was so good! Try the house hot sauce
google avatar

Izzy D.

Yelp
Place is awesome. Great food and service. Staff is amazing. Very helpful with menu. Hawaiian Royal, Loco Moco and the French toast are some of our favorites. Food is always fresh and delicious. Always consistent.

Julie F.

Yelp
Food was really great. Service was pretty good - you could see friendly servers were working hard and hustling. Too bad because restaurant ambiance was sadly below average. . . Building and seating old, seating was minimal and it's sort of grungy. i.e. food debris was on floor, dirty dishes not cleared off table quickly, etc.
google avatar

Denielle L.

Yelp
I really have no complaints! The food is good, priced very fair and the portions are generous! Today I ordered the Hawaiian French Toast made with Hawaiian sweet bread! It was so delicious! I'll definitely have to order that again! My partner order the ono Mixed Plate Breakfast with eggs, rice and his choice of Hawaiian style meats; Spam and Portuguese sausage with hash brown on the side. This was the first time we had breakfast and we weren't disappointed! We usually get lunch or dinner there. I really like the chicken teriyaki sliders on Hawaiian sweet rolls with pineapple slaw.

Deirdre F.

Yelp
First time here & we were disappointed. We've had plenty of Loco moco's & we figured we'd try it out here. Gravy had no color, no seasoning & no smell. Usually the first thing for us before we eat is the smell of the food & this loco moco had none. Burger patty tasted sweet with no seasonings. Hawaiian bread was melted into my rice - I wish the bread would've been placed in a separate container so that it didn't get soggy. Eggs were probably the best thing in the plate We returned our food & got a refund.

Yelp
This review is for the Gardena location, although my husband and I have dined at both the Gardena and West Los Angeles locations. This was one of those years when I didn't cook dinner for Thanksgiving. Hubby had to work, so I thought I would order take-out dinners from Rutt's. Let me start by saying that each time we have ordered from Rutt's, the food has always been on point. Fresh, tasty and their portion sizes are off the chart good. The Thanksgiving dinner consisted of turkey, ham, stuffing, yams, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, gravy and a roll. YUM! Everything was awesome. But I have to say that even better than the food was the attitude of the employees when I arrived. These folks had been cooking since 3:00 AM and they were amazing. Extremely friendly and truly glad that their business was being visited by hungry people! :) This is the kind of place I like to give my money to. Many thanks to Rutt's for their delicious food, great employees and a very clean restaurant. Take a break and get your next meal from Rutt's. Their food is off-the-hook and you'll have enough leftovers for at least 2 days! Wishing Rutt's every success and all the best in the coming new year!

Yelp
The Rutt's that the original owner (Kenny) is simply "no longer ". It's classic Hawaiian Royale is no longer ; the present day cooks of Rutt's have absolutely no idea of the food that Kenny was known for; there's no connection to it's Hawaiian beginnings. The present day version of the Hawaiian' Royale is bad tasting "fried rice with overcooked Portuguese sausage and char siu". This is not the famous Hawaiian omelet that Kenny created. A beautiful memory of something special and so good has been destroyed by a bunch of "non-Hawaiians"; sorry Kenny, your Rutt's of old is no longer. RIP Kenny, your legacy of good Hawaiian food has been destroyed. Disappointed Hawaiians

Yelp
Had Rutts cater an Aloha-themed baby shower. The food was delicious. Guests loved the dishes: musubi, bbq chicken, Kalbi ribs, char Sui pork, grilled vegetables, macaroni salad, bread pudding.
