Richmond’s largest weekly outdoor market fills Bryan Park on Saturdays with farms, bakers, and coffee to start the weekend right. Recognized by the Richmond Times-Dispatch and noted by Axios for gold certification, it’s a lively, very local shopping spree.

Google
I LOVE the Big Market! Parking is sort of crazy at times but it has such wonderful variety. Produce not found in stores!

Google
Good selection of fresh fruits & vegetables and lots of craft items. Really loved the live music.

Google
By far the best Market in RVA. Best time to go would be first thing when they open otherwise you risk waiting in the line of cars to get in. Great variety of vendors with items like crafts, soaps, produce and more. Highly recommend the fresh pasta and food trucks!

Google
Great selection of vendors, would be nice if things stayed open for longer than noon.

Yelp
Spring and Summer are definitely the best times to be here. A great variety of vendors, food stands/trucks, arts and crafts. Everyone is very nice and there usually are plenty of friendly dogs. There is plenty of parking and attendants to guide you into open spaces, but it can get crowded on busy days, so go early if you can. They normally have a few musicians playing throughout the market, so you get to have some local live music too.

Yelp
Love this market! A good amount of vendors and a wide selection of goods. We went in March, so there wasn't much produce or plants - so I am very excited to come back in the summer! The live music is a nice touch and adds a certain uniqueness. Parking was bit slow getting in, but there are plenty of spots was you get into the park. The parking attendants are very helpful in showing you where to go. I love this market and will for sure be returning during warmer weather!

Yelp
This is hands down my favorite farmers market! They always have a great variety of vendors and the freshest fruits and vegetables around. Everything is vibrant, flavorful, and clearly grown with care. I love coming here to stock up for the week and try something new each time. It's the perfect spot to support local and eat fresh!

Yelp
The RVA Big Market is a staple in Richmond. A vast number of vendors gather on Saturday mornings. This includes fresh seafood, produce, coffee, flowers, art, baked goods, and so much more. We love grabbing some locally made kombucha or water kefir too! Owl spoon is our favorite! We love the bagels from Kitchenette that are served with a smile. Everyone is so kind and it's fun seeing all of the pups too!

Yelp
Any Saturday morning that starts at the RVA Big Market is a good Saturday morning. My wife and I love coming here. The food vendors are always great and there's so much good produce and meats, desserts, sauces, and even homemade dog treats. Definitely check it out if you haven't already

Yelp
I had a great time at RVA BIG Market!! There was a LOT to offer for a farmers market, plenty of stands that cater to individual interests. The vibes are nice because they have musicians playing live music and everyone seems happy to be there. The few vendors I spoke to really knew their craft and that speaks volumes. We tried a smoothie, breakfast sandwich and cronut - all delicious. Definitely a special place to spend a couple hours during the weekend!

Yelp
For the few times they I go early saturday morning, I really enjoy it! Its a bit of a scary drive with all the curves in the park road but it's definitely doable! There are a good amount of vendors from goods, to produce. In the summer I was able to pick up a yellow watermelon, sadly in this season I didn't see any fruit! Id definitely keep returning to see what new products come from the stands!

Yelp
It's part of our tradition to go every Saturday now with our boys and get First Stop Donuts to feed the boys while we leisurely walk around the market. Love supporting locals and the foods that are often featured there. A huge fan of the cronuts but haven't seen them for a few weeks. The Arepa food truck is a must! I use to get Auntie Ning's but I believe their Foodtruck is getting repaired on or actually is sold. Afterwards making our rounds around the vendors, my family would then walk around the big loop of the trail. We typically let our boys run (to get tired) once we reach the area where cars are not allowed to drive through. It's a very fun tradition that my family love doing now and to get the boys some extra treats! Would recommend getting there right when it opens. Once it becomes gorgeous (like today) EVERYONE will be out. Parking in the parking area and side entrance were full that they had to use space next to the soccer field. Love this market!

Yelp
My favorite Saturday morning!!! The RVA BIG Market is Richmond's largest farmers market. They open at 8am during the summer and 9am during the winter (I once had to wait because I went before 9 on accident...) This market gets busy but they are well prepared with people directing you where to park in an organized manner. There is always multiple options for produce, coffee, and several food trucks with made to order food, as well as various artisans. A great place to walk around and support local. Some of my favorites: - Parousia coffee - well priced specialty lattes that aren't too sweet! - Sammich - the breakfast special sandwich has egg, prosciutto, and pesto and it's delicious -Kitchenette - the bagels with roasted tomato cream cheese!!!! - Flower Child Granola - delicious, homemade, and clean ingredients

Yelp
I can't recommend RVA BIG Market enough! It's always so lovely to go every Saturday and see my favorite booths! You can't leave the market until you have been to get Parousia coffee and some flowers from fourteen acres! It's a constant rotation of seasonal produce and treats, so you never know what you will find! And to add to it all, everyone that works there is super friendly and helpful!

Yelp
I LOVE this market. This is the re-branded South of the James Market that was relocated to Bryan Park due to the pandemic last year. SOJ is now operating on Thursdays at Forest Hill Park, so I guess it made sense to rename this one, since it's also north of the James. I'd recommend arriving early. Like, not too long after the market opens at 8 am. That way parking won't be such a bear and you're unlikely to need to wait in a massive line of cars that stretches sometimes to the entrance of the park. The vendors are diverse and fantastic. They have everything from buckets of produce, to food trucks (and coffee trucks!!), to fine art and ceramics, to way too many bakery vendors (so good, too good). The market is big, but not so big that it's overwhelming. It's a great way to spend a summer Saturday morning in Richmond!

Yelp
If you want a fun family friendly market to be enjoyed by all including your furry friends definitely come here. While you can arrive early to get a prime parking spot you cannot enter until they let you in the market. Upon entering you will here music welcoming you in I'm mean this literally. Come hungry leave happy ! Anything you want they have it from dumplings to donuts you must try it all or take a bunch of stuff home. Check out my pictures for what we enjoyed the most on our trip to the RVA Big Market.

Yelp
I went in March so there weren't a lot of vegetables. There were some but not lots. There are a lot of local food and craft artisans there. It's a very beautiful setting right by a pond! Tons of different food trucks and places to get breakfast or lunch! It is the place to be seen with your kid and dog!

Yelp
Are you a fan of farmers markets? After living in Charleston, farmers markets just become a part of you. We were excited to see what Richmond had in store for us and it didn't let us down. This is something I would be happy to check out every Saturday! Whether you just like to get your steps in, you want to get some good coffee and breakfast, or your here to shop, the RVA Big Market has something for you! It's family friendly, dog friendly and every kinda of people friendly! There was even a full band of ukulele players there last time! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I love this market: wide variety of vendors, amply parking, convenient location. My favorite vendors include Phal's Cafe, 77 West Farm, Black Creek Farm, Goats R Us, and Two and a Half Irish Men.

Yelp
It's my and my wife's go to place on Saturday mornings! It's a great place to walk around while sipping on some coffee. The fresh produce is always great as well as the micro greens. The Tempeh and Kombucha stands are a must try.

Yelp
My family and I go here every Saturday morning and have been going since it was at South of the James. We like this location better as the market is spread out through the park and it has plenty of parking. Be warned that the traffic can back up as the morning goes on and there is a one lane bridge where cars have take their turns but just pack your patience as it is worth the wait. I have quite a few vendors that I frequent including Owl Spoon, Jason talleys produce, jams cakes and many others. You can get coffee, breakfast or eggs, breads, produce and even jewelry and crafts. It truly is a great family outing. Everyone is friendly and it makes for a great start to the weekend. Make sure to take some bags with you. Dogs are welcome as well.

Yelp
The vendors are great but be cautious of the overly aggressive and unfriendly security. Not good.
