Happy bride! This tailor is honest and very skilled. We encountered an issue with my dress but she was honest and let me know as soon as she could and made the experience very smooth and relaxing. She was generous with her time and work and I couldn’t recommend her enough. Despite having to seek another tailor for a small part of the dress alteration, I wouldn’t change a thing. 10/10 definitely coming back for future alterations.

My daughter came here for a conference dress alteration. Although it was slightly difficult to find, once we arrived to the location we were assisted immediately and was given a reasonable time frame with our alterations. The atmosphere was very nice and clean.

Mone is AMAZING! I had 2 wedding dresses (one for the ceremony & one for the reception). My ceremony dress needed to be let out by a few inches & was about 10layers of tule/fabric with buttons all the way down, while my reception dress only needed the straps to be made shorter. The turnaround time for this project was impressively fast, and the quality was outstanding. Mone is super upfront and honest, which I appreciated. I dare you to find a better tailor than Mone! Her work, reliability, prices, & quick turnaround you simply can’t beat. I’ve been going to her for years for simple dress alterations, but this month she altered my wedding dress, reception dress and my husband’s suit to fit us perfectly. We waited until the last minute to handle alterations and she outdid herself by getting our outfits to us even quicker than we needed. An absolutely outstanding artist and business woman!

Ever since I moved from Virginia Beach to Richmond at this point almost a decade ago I chose their services for tailoring. They were located closer to Boulevard then. Everything I have ever gotten tailored from pants to shorts to shirts they have done a phenomenal job! Their prices are beyond reasonable, they are always professional, and all of my clothing has always been tailored in a timely manner. Highly, highly recommend. I will continue to use their tailoring services as they are fantastic.

I normally take my uniform shirts to RVA Tailors and have had great experiences with clothing alterations. However, I recently had a custom leather vest that needed an embroidered patch sewn on the back. Initially, the tailor mentioned she didn’t work with leather, but after explaining that the leather was made for patches, she agreed to do it. It took her three days, and while she raised the patch to the proper level, it ended up crooked. I had sent her an example through email, but she disregarded it, saying she doesn't read emails and doesn't have time for that. I highly recommend using her for clothes, but not for putting patches on fabric or leather, as she may not handle them well. Stick to clothing alterations, and you should be fine.

The best tailor in Richmond! I’ve brought several formal dresses (bridesmaid, work, etc) as well as more casual attire (jumpsuit, summer dress, etc) to RVA Tailors over the past 5 years and I’m always so happy with the results! My garments are ready way before I need them and the prices are very fair!

Very professional with reasonable prices. I had my wedding dress altered here and love how she was able to transform it. She's up front with pricing and does detailed work which can be a hard combination to find. I will take all of my tailoring needs here!

I've gotten a few pants taken in here. Mone is great! I really never thought about getting my clothes tailored so they fit perfect, but I started with one pair of pants and I'm hooked. Becuase I've only needed minot adjustments, it's taken less than 10 minutes for her to pin my attire to the needed measurements. AND, when I got my items back I couldn't even tell where the adjustments were made so it looked super natural. Can't speak too much to turn around time, I dropped stuff off before a vacation and picked them up when I returned. I would call first just in case she's closed/on vacation.

Unfortunately, this shop did really shoddy work. I brought in 3 pairs of pants that needed hemming, usually a pretty easy job for a tailor to get exactly right. I paid extra for "original hem" but my jeans just had the hems cut off and slapped back on quite poorly. It looks nothing like the original hem. Another pair of pants were asymmetrical in length, so I paid to have them match exactly. They are now the same length (yay?) but the highly visible vent is not the same length at all. So lazy and bad. All three pairs of pants had loose threads that they did not even bother to clip. If they can't succeed at something this basic I would hate to see what they might do with something I really cared about.

I was astonished at how rude and condescending the lady who greeted us was. We brought in a wedding suit needing very minor alterations. When asked what brought us in, before I could even finish my sentence the lady rejected my request because it would be "at least 5 weeks" before they could get to it. We were quickly shoo'd out the door. We went up the street to a different tailor who said it would only take a few days (as minor alterations typically should not take 5 weeks, imagine that). It's worth noting that you are also not allowed to make an appointment here. So we drove from 40 minutes away just to hear they don't want our business. Saying no is one thing, being nasty is another. Weird way to run a small business if nothing else.

5 stars Brought in two pairs of pants to be hemmed and RVA Tailors did a perfect job. Fast turnaround, great quality, and super friendly service. I'll definitely be back for future alterations!

Can't beat the prices and service! In and out for fitting and the turn around is quick.

I can't say enough good things about this business ! There's seriously no reason to go to any other tailor in town. On my first visit I had a few alterations for some random casual pieces. They turned out better than I expected and I was very happy with my fit. Most recently I needed about 20 patches sewn on to a denim jacket and returned to me the same day. This was right in the peak of prom and wedding season so my first thought was to go to a tailor that wasn't as popular. I thought doing that would give me a better chance at a quick turn around. I went to three different tailors downtown before deciding to just go to Rva tailors and see what Mone could do. I left her shop kicking myself for not just going to her first. Not only was she able to squeeze me in at the last minute for a same-day turnaround, but she did such a great job on my jacket! She made sure that each patch was perfectly sewn on and even changed the stitch color for each individual patch. Her price was reasonable and she really went above and beyond. You definitely won't find me at another Rva Tailor. I'll be back for every single patch I get and then some!

The absolute best in town. I have been bringing my jeans to be altered and they fit perfectly every time after she alters . No more belts for me :) Not only that, but I had a small wedding ceremony and found this fabulous 1950s lace wedding dress but it needed some alterations. I brought it in and she altered it to fit perfectly to my body. I felt so confident and beautiful and it was all because of RVA tailors.

RVA tailor did an incredible job with my dress. I had heard how outrageous bridal boutique prices could be so I decided to forgo to bridal shops. RVA tailors delivered with a fair price and a 2 week turnaround. She always does a wonderful job with all of my clothes and I've never been disappointed. Will continue to bring all my alterations needs here!

I got a couple pair of jeans hemmed here and they did a great job! They finished on the day they estimated and all the pairs were hemmed exactly how I wanted. I will definitely be coming back!!

Great little tailoring shop near Boulevard. I'd def recommend them to anyone that needs a suit altered! Pros: 1. The women that work in the shop are to-the-point, which I appreciate. They went over which alterations they thought were needed, and i loved the final outcome of the jacket. They're nice enough though. 2. Reasonably priced: suit jacket tailoring cost ~$60. 3. They seemingly can do alterations to all sorts of clothing, including wedding dresses. 4. They told me some customers order these really beautiful pieces of clothe that their colleagues make in Laos. 5. They give you a call card to get your clothing back, and will send you a text message when it's ready. Cons: 1. Business hours are tough: 9:30 to 5:30 on only M to F was difficult more me to manage a drop off and pick up because I work full time.

Mone is the best. High quality. Fast turnaround. She stands behind her work. I use her for all my suit alterations.

I used RVA tailors for a bridesmaids dress. The seamstress was quick and easy to use. I made sure to go in with my dress about two months ahead of time because this place is busy. She did a wonderful job and the alternations were perfect.

They did a great job of reinforcing some threadbare areas of a favorite pair of jeans.

Took 2 pairs of expensive jeans to get hemmed and she had them ready for me the next day. They fit great and she was able to use the original hem so they look great too. Came highly recommended from my brother and they didn't disappoint.

Very professional, efficient, and thorough. I brought a bridesmaid dress here to be tailored for a wedding. I told her the wedding was 3 weeks away and she had everything finished for me in 1 week. Such a relief! The pricing is reasonable and the quality is great. I highly recommend RVA Tailors and will be back in the future!

Really nice people and quick turn around! I found them on Yelp and they're right around the corner from my office so the hours are no biggie for me. I dropped a dress off to be hemmed on a Friday and needed it by the following Friday. They told me they could have it ready by Thursday and would text me when it was ready. Tuesday comes and I receive a text my dress is done! I picked it up the next day and it fits great. Painless, simple process and the parking during daytime weekday hours is easy!

Whether it's just hemming my pants or more complex jobs such as adjustments to an expensive jacket, RVA is spot on with their work. I made the mistake of going around the corner one time to check out 'the other guys' on broad street - BIG mistake. I had to return twice to get the item corrected. RVA tailor shop is great.

I needed a miracle to have a dress quickly altered and hemmed for me within a week and RVA tailors was my saving grace! They were able to hem my dress, shorted the sleeves, take a little extra fabric from the shoulders within a week, AND iron the dress! I can't even tell where they hemmed it, the dress look brand spankin' new!

I was happy when I found an affordable Tailor in Richmond. I was going to these guys for months when I first moved here but then they moved to Scott's Addition and doubled their prices. Guess I'll have to find a new Tailor. Which is a bummer because they put out a great product I just can't afford their prices any more.

I rarely write reviews but with something like tailoring it is hard to pick someone to do it without reading reviews. I took my wedding dress to 3 different tailors and RVA tailors quotes me almost $100 cheaper from the second cheapest option. I needed the dainty fine lace straps shortened and the dress itself which had 8 layers shortened. When I picked up my dress with my maid of honor we couldn't even see where anything had been done until I put on the dress, it was like a whole new dress! I know that the owner of the store takes great pride in her work and wants everything perfect. If it was after my wedding I would post before and after pictures. Trust RVA tailors and you will not regret it!!! RVA tailors was the 2nd shop I checked with solely based off reviews and I wish I would have saved myself time by coming here first.

I've been here several times and they are so nice and fast! A few months ago, I took my wedding dress in to be tailored. It was about six inches too long. My wedding dress has several layers and a super ornate lace design, so I knew it would be difficult, but Mone did an amazing job as always. She turned the dress around in less than two weeks, even though she was super busy after just reopening from the COVID shutdown. I definitely recommend her, and will always take my alterations to her when I need them!

She did an amazing job hemming and tapering my pants. It's often hard to find someone who can get the measurements just as you'd like them, so I am very pleased. Will be returning for all my alteration needs!

I completely rolled the dice on RVA Tailors and I'm so glad I did. I ordered a bridesmaid dress for my friend's wedding without trying it on (idiot) so of course it didn't fit with less than a month to go. I took it to RVA and begged them to let it out as much as possible. The turnaround time was so quick, the stitching is flawless, and it fits! Plus it was super affordable.

I've shopped around for tailors in the Richmond area for years. I've had to get everything from formal dresses to simple shifts altered, and RVA Tailors is the MOST perfect tailor shop I've ever been to. The first alteration I brought to RVA Tailors was a 100% silk maxi dress, I needed the hem to be brought up a bit. I wasn't expecting it to cost much, but figured the fact that it was silk would cause the price to go up. I'm not kidding when I say I thought she was joking with the price. It was such a quality job, great service, and her price was so reasonable. I now drive 30 minutes into the city just to have her do all my alterations. No doubt in my mind, if you need alterations done RVA Tailors is your place.

FYI don't take anything Military to her, I got crazy looks the entire time then said she couldn't do it.

Have had about 8 pairs of garments hemmed or altered, exactly what I want for results. Quickly done, reasonably priced, friendly staff. Very awesome to be able to describe exactly what you want and get it just so and quickly.

I took 3 bridesmaid dresses here that needed 4+ inches off, the straps tightened, and draping brought in. All three of the dresses were ready in 4 days! The quality, pricing, and turn around time was unbelievable! Highly recommend for your tailoring needs!

Amazing alterations! I have taken everything from formal floor-length gowns to Lilly Pulitzer sundresses and shorts, to button-down tops. Everything has always been returned to me VERY fast and exactly the way I wanted. I read an article once that said the biggest fashion improvement you can make is having your clothes tailored to you for the best fit, and I never believed it made that much of a difference until I came to RVA Tailors. Every time I buy something new, if it could be improved in fit even a little, if I wish it was just a little more fitted in certain places, or shorter, or anything different at all, I come in and am always very happy I did. Fair pricing too! I wouldn't trust anyone else with my clothes!!
