Riad Hotels in the Old Medinas of Morocco

"Brighter, sunnier, somehow friendlier than the average riad hotel — maybe it’s the owners, a couple of designers, one Dutch and the other Spanish, but for whatever reason, Ryad Dyor stands out. It’s as private as any riad in the medina, but where many go dark and heavy, this one goes for graphic and sun-drenched, a look that’s probably more accessible than the traditional riad hotel." - Mark Fedeli

Ryad Dyor, a Design Boutique Hotel Marrakesh, Morocco

"In the heart of the medina of Marrakech two Ryads have been stylishly transformed into a fabulous small boutique hotel with plunge pool and hammam. Guestrooms are stylish and well furnished in a Moroccan tradition. They are equipped with modern en suite facilities and offer the quality of a high-class boutique hotel. Admire, behind the Koutoubia Mosque and the thousands of roof tops, the Atlas Mountains on a clear day, often snow-capped in wintertime. Experience the liveliness of the Medina streets and alleys while you’re led to the doors of Ryad Dyor. Behind these doors an oasis of serenity awaits you." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

Ryad Dyor, Marrakech, Morocco - Explore & Book

"If you sense a bright and breezy Med chic about this riad, it must have wafted across from Ibiza, where Dutch owners Yvonna and Alberto made their name restyling a handful of highly cool villas. Their designer touch - she's interiors, he's fashion - sparkles here too, from the bejewelled babouches and sleekly curved chairs to the chillout tunes drifting up to the sheltered rooftop lounge. It's converted from a trio of riads, with shady courtyards featuring an ornately tiled fountain, sky-high bamboo, a mirrored wall and a rose-petalled splash pool. The suites and rooms bristle with design details: copper lanterns, Balinese mirrors, egg-smooth tadelakt bathtubs. Up on the roof, under a loggia hung with gauzy textiles, fresh mint tea is the perfect accompaniment to lazing in the afternoon sunshine. Down below, the small hammam is the perfect place for some restoration after exploring mad Marrakech. The laid back atmosphere - everyone is made to feel at home, nothing is too much trouble - will delight couples seeking both style and substance on a long weekend break or some post-trek pampering. Highs Stunning, eclectic décor, which mixes modern and Moroccan pieces A calm and classy adult-only haven, set in a quiet part of the medina Pretty courtyards with palms and orange trees, a pool for cooling feet and suspended lanterns We loved the enormous open-air roof lounge and plunge pool, where breakfast and drinks are served A small tadelakt hammam with a steam room and hot tub Lows No alcohol served and if you want lunch or dinner you'll need to order in advance, as ingredients are bought fresh the same day On the pricier side for Marrakech riads, and a little further from the centre than some might like (15-20min walk) Room doors don't lock but each one has a safe and it all adds to the laidback feel We found ourselves being pestered by bees at breakfast time No kids allowed - a plus for some" - Charlotte Sinclair

Our stay at Riad Dyor has been nothing short of extraordinary. We were a group of five and booked three rooms, and from the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely cared for in every possible way. The staff made sure we were always comfortable, and their attention to detail truly elevated our experience. The food at the riad’s restaurant was fantastic, and the breakfasts on the rooftop were absolutely exquisite—one of our favorite moments each day. The location is perfect for exploring the city, yet the riad itself feels like a peaceful, authentic haven. The rooms were spotless, beautifully decorated, and full of character. On colder evenings, they even lit a fireplace for us, which made everything feel even more magical. We also enjoyed the hammam and massages, and we couldn’t be happier with the quality of the services. Everything was relaxing, professional, and perfectly done. Overall, our experience has been incredible. The combination of exceptional staff, delicious food, authentic atmosphere, and thoughtful service made our stay unforgettable. We can’t recommend this riad highly enough.

If you really want the experience of staying in the Medina, you can't go wrong with Ryad Dyor. Exquisitely decorated and furnished, you'll be living in the middle of the Marrakech medina -- walkable right out the front door to all the action. But return to the Ryad and you'll be in a tranquil oasis. Breakfast (included) is a gourmet treat -- local fruits, a ricotta/radish/tomato/herb salad, Moroccan pancakes, breads, crepes, jams, and eggs, served in beautiful style on the rooftop. A beautiful way to start the morning. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, with all the amenities. Beware though -- you're in the Medina -- expect to be awoken by the sounds of morning prayer as well as roosters and birds, but it's all part of the experience.

A beautiful, tranquil Ryad off the main Medina. Ibrahim greeted us with tea and made us feel so welcome. Gave us invaluable information and took us to our room, Noor deluxe. Rooms and whole Ryad are tasteful with beautiful details. Evening meal of Monkfish tagine on the roof terrace was delicious. Breakfasts great too. Hammam and massage another wonderful experience. Although location is a bit further out it feels like a relief to walk the quiet starts home at the end of a hectic day. Thank you we will be back.

Ryad Dyor is a beautiful gem of a riad located just off the beaten track and about a 15m walk from the main souk and Dar El Bacha Museum. It’s generally quiet at night, but the rooms, courtyard and rooftop are stunning in design and execution. Ibrahim and his staff are always welcoming and on hand to help assist with any requests. Note that most riads do not have alcohol licences so this must be taken into consideration if a glass of wine at the end of the day is desired. Look out for scrumptious breakfasts and some great day trip recommendations from the team here. Make sure to set aside time to hike to and visit one of the Berber villages in the Atlas Mountains, it beat any of the other activities within the city of Marrakech, as beautiful as it may be. Would highly recommend Ryad Dyor though!

Sublim!!|Amongst boutiques hotels, organic coffee shops, handcrafts shops, farm to table restaurants lays the sanctuary which is ryad Dyor. When the door opens it is a whole world of elegance and beauty that unfolds beyond your eyes. |The whole team was genuinely thoughful, helpful and very well groomed. The owner is loved by everybody working there, it spreads good vibes. |I would go back or advise that hotel to any family or friends visiting Marrakech.

SCAM ALERT: Unexpected charges and poor refund handling I booked this beautiful Ryad through Booking.com, and like many guests, I was drawn to the Ryad’s charm /decor and ideal location, it truly looked like the perfect spot. I reserved for two nights with the option to pay at the property and selected a rate that included free cancellation. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my trip but I did so within the permitted cancellation window. My card was charged (even though I had selected pay at the property) and nearly double the original amount. I contacted Booking.com and provided all supporting documents and they informed me that the Ryad had declined to process the refund. While Booking.com eventually reimbursed me directly, the Ryad itself refused to issue the refund or correct the charge. While this Ryad certainly appears luxurious and inviting, I strongly urge future guests to verify all payment and cancellation terms carefully. Proceed with caution. I was truly looking forward to staying here, but this experience left me disappointed. After digging a bit deeper on the google reviews, I came across a few other guests who reported similar issues (unexpected charges or reimbursement issues). It seems this may not be a frequent occurrence, but it's incredibly unfortunate when you're the one it happens to.
