Great spot for coffee & chat. It has ample space and the interior is rustic. The coffees were delicious as well. I bought a bag of coffee beans and they gave us 2 coffees free. The vanilla late was smooth The nitro coffee was smooth and subtle with a mild flavor And the mocha frappe with espresso was delicious, on the sweeter side. The almond croissant was also delicious. Recommend for dates and group meet ups since it has a lot of space. Paid about 30 for 3 people for the items above.

I haven't been to Ryan Bros in years because I live in Chula Vista. I came in because I was about to do a long drive to LA and wanted a nice experience before I went. I called in my order and they were fun and pleasant and even joked around with me. I came in and the customers are chill. It's a nice environment to study or just hang out. Kaylie took my order and she was a gem. Just great energy and I didn't get the name of the guy making my drinks. I talked to him too and he was really fun to talk to. I ordered a burrito and Daisy brought it too me and was great as well. It's rare you get treated all around well from every stuff member like that. I loved my California burrito and I got a iced Americano and it was too notch. I loathe Starbucks and the horrible inauthentic service they try and pass off. This place was the gold standard of a local coffee shop. I'm in a great mood and ready to drive to LA. Mad love to you guys.

Google
I WISH I got her name but the barista that took my order is amazing!!! It was my first time coming in and she was patient with me and gave me an awesome recommendation. Initially i ordered an Irish cream latte but because I wasn’t too sure, I asked her opinion and she offered to make it with cinnamon. Great. Then because I told her I’m used to just ordering vanilla or caramel lattes, she offered to do a half and half drink for me: Irish cream and vanilla latte with cinnamon!!! This was the best coffee I’ve had in a while and I think it’s bc the experience and her advice made it so much better. Thank you so much!!!!!

Wow, I was very surprised to find such a cool coffee place. The staff was friendly, helpful and they took the time to chat and show interest in us. The atmosphere is historic and interesting too. You have to see this place! Our drinks were great and I look forward to visiting again soon.

One of the best breakfast burritos I’ve ever had. Service was outstanding.

Grabbed a coffee and a sandwich with fries during a working lunch. The latte was smooth and mellow. The sandwhich had toasted bread, crispy bacon and satisfying advocado and turkey. Dog friendly. Range of seating. I was able to get a solid 2 hrs work done at a hightop. They had the soccer and baseball games going. I saw the employees doing a couple rounds of cleaning when I was there too.

Google
A hidden jewel in barrio logan. I've never been to such an amazing coffee shop. Great atmosphere, good prices, excellent service. If you want to have a great morning coffee and breakfast this is the place to be. Parking outside, lots of seating, I love how they got tvs to watch sports!! Their breakfast burritos are delicious!!! Their coffee smells and tastes great!! This place deserve 10 stars!!!

So far my experience has been good I will continue on to try items on their menu.. I like that they have Growlers to fill cold brew... I think that's pretty awesome. I was able to find Ethiopian coffee my favorite... I ordered a caramel mocha iced coffee with oat milk the balance of the cold brew and the oat milk and everything came out just great not sweet not bitter just perfect ... the hubby ordered white mocha with oat milk which was super awesome.over all great place to pick up some coffee..

Yelp
I got the Christmas flight and a coffee. I hated the flight and hated my coffee. It was overhyped and definitely overpriced. The barrio Logan location is very cool but I will never be getting coffee here again. The everything bagel was decent though.

Yelp
I saw on IG that this coffee shop had cute delicious festive cold brew flights! I had to make my way to one of their locations as the holidays were nearing end. The location my boyfriend and I went to is the one located in the corner of Main St and Cesar E. Chavez Pkwy where the Barrio Logan Gateway sign is. There's ample free street parking around the area. I was super excited for their festival cold brew flights but the day my boyfriend and I went, they ran out of ingredients to make them! Sad! But regardless, they still had a cold brew flight of flavors to choose from. My boyfriend and I got their Trifecta, Mexican Mocha, French Vanilla Caramel combo, and Candy Cane (yay for the latter!). The barista had cold foam on top of each drink (peep at pic), and omg. Every one of were delicious! The cold foam definitely enhanced the drink and surprisingly wasn't very sweet. Our top favorites were the trifecta and Mexican mocha. I was actually debating on getting a full size trifecta for the road LOL but definitely a spot to revisit in the future in my opinion. My boyfriend also go their Chocolate Scone which looked kind of dry from first impression but surprisingly and thankfully, was not! Heating it up definitely helped. Overall, even though I didn't get my festive cold brew flight, the regular flight we chose with the cold foam were delicious! We will be back next year to try get their festive flights (and for more of their trifecta cold brew).

Yelp
When I first moved to San Diego to attend USD, I was surrounded by Ryan Bros Coffee (founded by USD alums). I like their coffee and its always great to support local. They have this location in Barrio Logan that's convenient, especially near Chicano Park. While I am not a big caffeine drinker, some of my colleagues ordered their green coffee. I've never seen anything like it, but this stuff is HOPPED UP with caffeine! Perfect for the person that needs the ultra ultra ultra level boost.

Yelp
Came here to try their christmas flight and it did not disappoint. Every one of their espresso drinks was superb. The server was calm and patient though I had a crying baby to deal with. They brought our food and drinks promptly. I lived the cute set christmas set up even in such a small space. The only difficult thing I found was that parking was really difficult. Even on a random Tuesday morning, there was no clear parking in sight, having to park several blocks away.

Yelp
It's always my first stop when I'm in San Diego. The coffee is good, there's a good amount of seating inside, there's an area that has books and couches to lounge .. The Mexican mocha is my go to hot coffee from here.
google avatar

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time. I liked that you could order a flight of coffees and teas. Although it seems like they may have different items on the menu depending on the location. I really wanted to try their afogato but they didn't have any at this Ryan Bros. The coffee was still good. The coffee shop itself seemed spacious and the decor was very unique. They were pretty busy and they did forget a couple of our items.

Yelp
UPDATE: Thank you Mr. Tom R for your time this only shows you care about your business and the clients. I would be here every morning and the Asian girl(sorry don't know her name) was my to go girl when making my Mexican mocha. She knew exactly what she was doing. Sorry can't say much about the others I would often see them on their phones and maybe that's why coffee wasn't as great. So this is the reason I stopped coming back. And about the Chorizo con papa I will give it another try sometime next week and I will definitely give you my honest review on it. Thanks for your time.

Yelp
Great selection of cold brews even from tap. Great breakfast sandwich and açaí bowls. Service was quick. Place was clean and comfortable.

Yelp
Pretty good coffee place that I came to on my visit to SD, the decor was cute and the latte I got was delish, my only feedback would be the service, it was kind of slow and there was only one person ahead of me but the entire order from start to finish took like 30 mins and that felt like way too long.

Yelp
First time visiting a Ryan Bros Coffee and learned that the Barrio Logan location is the headquarters where they roast their beans for their other stores. This location is spacious with plenty of seating, very chill vibes, average noise level making it a great place to study and decent street parking. The service I received was pretty good, they're generous with the samples of the different types of cold brews that they offer. I got the hot nitro draft which is your typical pour over coffee, infused with nitro making the drink a bit smoother than normal. I sampled the cold brews and they didn't taste that strong and were not as smooth as nitro coffees should be. I would come back next time to try the cold teas on tap. I'd say overall the coffee isn't the best, but it's not bad, would recommend trying it out.

Yelp
My first time here and Just wow! And such a cute coffee spot. I love the decor and theme they have going. The service was excellent as well. The team helped me right away. They were friendly and professional. I will definitely be back

Yelp
The coffee beans are the best I have ever found. The customer care is just as good. I drove from Alpine to get Espresso Gold beans at 3:00 in the afternoon. When I arrived, there were no bags on the shelf. The owner came out to let me know that if I could just wait a few minutes, they would get my order ready and he even apologized for the very brief wait. Since I was waiting, I ordered their most popular drink, a Mexican Mocha. There is not much angst or sadness that a Ryan Bros Mexican Mocha will not wash away, so good! Driving back to Alpine, the smell of the beans in my car just topped it all off. I love this company!

Stefani B.

Yelp
The coffee here was delicious. I had a French Vanilla Latte, that was perfect! I also had avocado toast and a cheese Danish. They were fine, nothing special. Staff was ok, not too friendly. Definitely come for the coffee!!

Yelp
Usually walk my dog around there and typically duck in midday when it's dead to get a solid 90 mins of work in. My dog is typically scared of (insert literally anything and everything here) but for some reason he's as cool as a cucumber when we get here. That's good energy I wanna be around. The coffee isnt terribly amazing but it gets the job done. I've had several things off the menu but I like going with the flight because I like variety. The workers are chill which makes any place a good place. The only thing I absolutely can't stand is that the wifi never works. Tried on my phone. My work laptop. My personal iPad. I can't ever seem to get on. The pastries don't look too appetizing and so I typically pass on it. There's a book shelf which has some interesting reads to browse through and the seats in that section of the shop are comfy. Which is why it's always taken up first. Feels like someone always leaves a newspaper for the next person so that's a plus. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to visit it but if you're in the area then it's a cool place to duck into and chill midday or even on a Saturday or Sunday morning during low foot traffic. If you see me feel free to say hi haha.

Yelp
What a great place to stop by and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee! I love that they open at 6am. I was in the area early in the morning and in desperate need of some coffee. Parking was limited but that's usually the case in the area since it's close to the shipyard and all the Nasco employees park around there. I love how easy it is to find the spot and the inside is huge! So much seating available and there's a small living room lounge area to sit and enjoy a good cup of coffee. It was nice and chilly in the morning and I paired it with their seasonal pumpkin latte. The flavor was great and the staff was really nice. I highly recommend them just give yourself time to find parking.

Yelp
Don't order a hot drink here. Tastes like a gas station coffee. They put so much chocolate at the bottom of the mocha that it was sludge. They use a powder and I think they over did it a bit today. We returned our drinks and they gave us a cold brew. Been here previously for the cold brew, and it was great. Service is nice but slow. I think they forgot our initial order. Overall would come back for cold brew.
google avatar

Yelp
Good luck with your business, but I won't be coming back. This was supposed to be a quick coffee stop before work, but the lack of staff training and common sense ruined the experience. I arrived at 7:20 and found a couple sampling all the coffees and asking endless "curious" questions while I waited for service. I had to interrupt and ask for assistance, only to wait longer and receive a wrong and incomplete order.
google avatar

A M.

Yelp
Horrible service, this place wasn't even busy but waited over 25 minutes for my order and they got it wrong. They ran out of whip cream and served people after I came. Don't waste your time or money.
google avatar

Deja W.

Yelp
The coffee was good the atmosphere was nice as well. I was a little disappointed to know that the artsy flights they had are gone and the glass sizes are much smaller. Most of the flavors I wanted to try like the Dirty Chai and the Mexican Mocha were out it was 11:07am. I was a little surprised at that. Other than that it was nice
google avatar

Yelp
Ryan bros has always been one of my favorite places for coffee in SD. Their cold brews aren't bitter like normal cold brews & they have their cold brews on tap. The cold brew flight seems to be a new addition to the menu, highly recommend getting this if you've never tried their drinks! My all time favorite cold brew is the Mexican mocha & the trifecta (mix of Mexican mocha, French vanilla, & raceway espresso).

Yelp
Fun cafe to stop in Barrio Logan. They have bakery treats, tons of flavors of coffee and tea, and huge bags of tea and coffee for purchase. You can also get sandwiches. They have taps of coffee and tea as well! There's a cozy spot with 2 stairs down with couches and books. There's tons of seating and great music. You can buy shirts, hats, greeting cards, tea leaves, coffee beans, tote bags, mugs, and more here. The outstanding bit about this spot is the service. The employees couldn't have been kinder. I would stop here again without a doubt. Life's too short to be bitter ;)

Yelp
Got a cappuccino with oat milk to go. Tasted unlike anything I've ever had. Very sweet taste that overwhelmed the coffee. Couldn't finish it as it was so off putting.

Yelp
Walking in, no Clue of what a well designed establishment in the heart of San Diego, I felt the energy from the aroma of fresh Arabica beans and the roast from the smooth purr of the machines and fluidity of its employees/ Craftsmen. I ordered the FREESTYLE Xpresso, key word freestyle! Creativity at its finest and I was nervous having tasted some of San Diego best espresso to now attempting a twist with an incredible flavor richness beginning with its passionate barista to its near perfect roast and complex mixology that blends perfectly . Here is my experience... Thank you Ryan's Bros!
google avatar

Gaby J.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday morning for a quick coffee break before running on a few errands. A lot has changed since I last went here (they've expanded their menu and got rid of a few things) but I was able to talk to one of the Ryan Brothers, Carmine, who was super chill & very nice. As an Indonesian, I quickly noticed the bike decoration near the entrance and we talked about Indonesian culture and his brief stint there. There are now a few Ryan Bros Coffee shops (City Heights (my go-to spot) & Lemon Grove (I think this closed)) but this was the first one I went to when I just moved to San Diego and volunteered with Trolley Dance. They have great deals, delicious food (I recommend the cheese danish) and friendly service. I would definitely go back to try their burrito or just for the atmosphere. It felt very safe & welcoming. Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Parking: 1/5 - there is a 15 minute parking spot or you can park across the street.

Yelp
This place is Very Clean! Thanks The Staff here on July 29 2023 was Awesome really helpful and Knowledgeable about the stuff they offer!! We had the Farmers Sandwich Food was good!

Yelp
Visited this place today for the first time since I am looking for coffee roasters to buy fresh beans on a regular basis. We ordered a cappuccino and an espresso shot. The espresso shot tasted and looked like filtered coffee. It had no crema or body to it. It tasted flat and watery. The milk in the cappuccino tasted weird. We threw out both drinks. A coffee roaster that can't make espresso? Come on guys. Although the coffee sucked, the employees were friendly and welcoming. I attached a picture of the espresso shot fresh from the machine. Looking at their coffee setup, it looks like they may use the same beans for espresso and filter. I would not recommend. Better options out there.

Yelp
It was time for our weekly growler refill. Didn't realize that they closed at 4:00pm. Raul is awesome! He was locking up and saw us pull up and let us in. Paula was great, she rang us up while Raul filled our growler. We were in an out 2 minutes. He could've easily said sorry guys we are closed and we would have been fine with it and returned back in the morning. He went above and beyond. We really appreciate it.

Yelp
Great service and options on different blends. Good options for non dairy milk options. Great areas for sitting and doing work. I had a Mexican mocha and it was perfect. Parking wasn't the best but overall great coffee!

Yelp
Went in this morning for my guilty pleasure, coffee! The music was great this morning, but the only downfall is that their kitchen has been closed a few times, I live all the way in Otay Ranch and always make the drive but it's disappointing when its closed. Today, I was rushing to get there on time to get breakfast but the breakfast portion of the menu was already gone and it was only 10:53 am. The barista's are AMAZING, they quickly cheered me up and apologized. Today it was a girl with glasses who was very sweet and made great conversation with me and a girl with reddish hair, she made the most amazing coffee ever. I accidentally ordered the wrong milk and realized that after she had already made the drink, I felt so bad but she was so understanding and remade the entire drink for me and was so nice about it. Overall a great experience but definitely won't be getting food from them anymore, sometimes the kitchen is closed and sometimes it's open, don't take the chance if you're really hungry. If you want some really good coffee ask for the girl with the red hair!!!!

Yelp
I really enjoyed this stop. The service was excellent & our bagel was yummy. It's also dog friendly which is nice!

Yelp
Interesting interior details. I was curious whether the store was Mexican / Asian owned and found out from the barista that the owners grew up in Asia which explains the tuktuk and Phoenix decor. Love their twist in the coffee.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in for breakfast to go after my run. The coffees were great. We got breakfast sandwiches on bagels- the bagels were not the best, but the contents of the sandwiches was good. Parking on the street was available when I went.
google avatar

Shane D.

Yelp
Loved the trifecta and Mexican mocha(tastes like a rich Mexican hot chocolate over ice) cold brews with soft top, service was very polite and helpful with drink recommendations, cafe had a cute laidback vibe like a place you would want to sit and read a book on a rainy day, we also tried the chocolate croissant which was pretty good and reminded my wife of the ones SDSU's student stores used to sell
google avatar

Yelp
We went on the Caffeine Crawl this morning. Our first stop is Ryan Bros Coffee. The experience was amazing, Tom gave us a full instruction of Coffee bean roasting. We got to know about their process and how they produced their roasted beans. We also tried their green coffee which was pretty impressive. It tasted like mint green tea. If you come to try their drinks, you can check if they have the green coffee in the store.
google avatar

Rexie S.

Yelp
This place was part of the Taste of Barrio Logan. We tried the Mexican Mocha and the Iced Vanilla. The pastries were gone by the time we got to them. The Mexican Mocha & Iced Vanilla were really good. The Mexican mocha had a cinnamon taste to it. They have a variety of pastries and coffee beans. Friendly service. Huge seating area.

Yelp
yummy and delicious avocado toast on sourdough bread Not a fan of coffee but the Hawaiian smoothie is cheffs kiss

Yelp
For the coffee and tea selection and taste alone I'll give this place a 3 stars. It also has seating both inside and out that give you a spectacular view of the coastline. It has a fun surfing theme with surf board shaped tables and tiki decor. Our drinks came out relatively quick and there never was a rush for us to leave. We could chat and enjoy the views at our leisure. Where this place lost stars was in the cleanliness of the tables and bathrooms. We had to clean off our own table from the crumbs and sticky residue left behind from prior guests. We tried three tables before deciding to do so and each table with the same, in various states of a mess. And never once during our time there did someone come out to clean. The same can be said for the bathrooms; they weren't very tidy at all. If it were just wiped down from time to time, I'd give it a 4 stars.
google avatar

Yelp
Just had the worst coffee- so disappointing Looked like a cool place but the coffee was awful Ordered two lattes - both room temp and tasted like burnt gritty coffee Not even close to a latte Tasted like it had been sitting in old coffee maker all day
google avatar

Gloria T.

Yelp
The atmosphere of this coffee shop was extremely welcoming and cozy. I ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk and it was smooth and creamy. The manager and team were also super friendly. Shoutout to Erika the barista for making the amazing drink! I will definitely be back here for the food/drinks; it's a great place to study or meet up with friends as well :)

Yelp
This place is great looking fun atmosphere coffee was alright. However do not order food here it took over 30 min i would say closer to an hour to get my food. That's after asking the barely 22 year old kids running the place. Service was decent at best again the wait was ridiculous specially for a place that was not busy at all. I suggest get your coffee and get out go across the street get yourself some good Mexican food and get it piping hot quick as hell!
google avatar

Andrea V.

Yelp
This place was okay, nothing special and I wasn't too impressed. There is street parking available, which can be hard to find. There is indoor seating and the inside is spacious and nice. There is coffee, growlers for cold brew, cups, mugs, food, pastries, a variety of coffee and cold brew options available. I ordered the Hawaiian latte, and let me just say it tasted like old burnt milk or espresso. It had no flavor aside of the old burned taste that was overpowering to enjoy. Left my stomach feeling upset, and my wallet $6 bucks short. Money down the drain. Had I tasted it before I drove away I would have exchanged it. On the up side, the avocado toast was decent, but you can't really mess that up. I purchased a growler for $6, and had it filled with their Mexican mocha cold brew. Their cold brew was good and I have a growler to enjoy for a few days. Prices were average and the female helping me was helpful and friendly. Overall, this place was average and I don't see driving out here for some coffee with other options in my area.

Yelp
Love Ryan bros! Staff is always so friendly. The coffee and food are always excellent and they have tons of seating which is great for working or sitting and enjoying the coffee with friends. Plus they offer a military discount!

Al A.

Yelp
I stopped in to get a bottle of water for my thirsty dog. $2.75 for a bottle of Arrowhead water. It's a shame when businesses are this greedy and try to take advantage of their patrons.

Espen C.

Yelp
What's not to love about Ryan Bros Coffee? My first visit was during the height of the pandemic, I was volunteering for Family Health Centers and needed a break from the emotional stress of it all --- when I entered, the staff immediately calmed me down with their friendly service. That's it. They offered hints and tips, I tried several flavours and was hooked. I've returned many times since alone and with friends. Ryan Bros is worth the trip ---anytime. Enjoy !!

Yelp
Awesome coffee shop! Yummy coffee. Great asset to the Barrio they support the neighborhood by engaging in philanthropy. Nice ambiance.

Yelp
Most coffee aficionados prefer a light to medium roast so they can taste all the nuances of a single origin. But i prefer the deep flavor of a dark roast. I was reading up on reviews of Ryan Brothers, Cowboy Coffee, and decided to pick some up. Because i usually by a darker roast, i know that the darker the roast, the more oily the beans are. These were the oiliest beans I've ever seen, (i mean that in a good way) it looked like they dipped them in oil then put them into the bag! I brewed it as espresso and also thru an aero press, both very good and the name Cowboy Coffee is perfect! It has a really robust flavor and mild bitterness and acidity. If you like dark roast, Cowboy Coffee is one that will surely win you over. They also have lighter roast and single origin for sale as well as a variety of cold brew on nitro on tap. I'll be back to try some of their other coffees too.

Yelp
Loving the new seasonal refreshers. Hope that they keep them year round and add them to the regular menu.

Yelp
I've had Ryan bros coffee before and it was such a treat!! It's interior is homey, it's coffees pack a punch, with subtle, nuanced flavors that come together to tickle the taste buds. Make sure to check the opening hours before going. I showed up for my second visit to this Barrio Logan spot and it was all boarded up, I arrived after the 4pm closing unfortunately. Sad I didn't check before, but looking forward to my next visit, such a unique coffee spot that excels in delicious coffee!!!

Yelp
The staff here is friendly and I love the aesthetics of this place alot! I ended up getting a vanilla latte that was on tap. I usually get sugar free vanilla in my vanilla lattes but since this was on tap, it wasn't possible. To my surprise, it wasn't sweet at all! The coffee was super smooth and after every sip, I kept wanting to drink more. I also ordered a chocolate chip cookie. And while it wasn't anything that extraordinary, it did taste like homemade cookies, which is good. Will def come back to try other drinks.
