A long overdue birthday dinner for my boys. They wanted to go here because they knew and had worked with the owners and some staff and had heard good things about the food. It was around 7pm on a Wednesday, very easy parking and got a table immediately for the four of us. Our server Ross was amazing! He helped us with the menu and as it wasn’t very busy, was able to chat with us a little bit and we were very pleased and impressed with his service. He was there quietly in the background and immediately available. For starters we shared the Fried Calamari and the Duck Confit Poutine. Although enjoyable, the Calamari was overly salty. The poutine was amazing! The duck was very tasty, the fries cooked perfectly, the curds deliciously melty, but the Demi-glacé was so extremely amazing. I wanted to lick the bowl! My entree was the Summer Vegetable Risotto and it was so fresh and tasty. If there was any negative, it was a little sticky, but wonderful nonetheless. My sons and husband enjoyed their meals immensely saying the duck and tuna were both cooked to perfection. The fresh vegetables were a great addition. One son and I got the Pot d’creme to go and I ate mine for breakfast, it was extremely tasty. After the meal, the staff graciously took pictures of my family for us and the boys chatted briefly with an employee they had both worked with previously. We all agreed that we would return.

Oh my gosh… so far this is the best restaurant i have eaten in since i arrived in the USA. I tried many restaurants from SFO to Eugene.. and Rye, Eugene tops them all… i tried the opinion soup and my husband tried the beff ribs… i finished with their home made caramel chocolet… we decided to come back again tomorrow 🫣 i deduct one star in the atmosphere section because of the cooking smell… that is all.

I have mix feelings about this restaurant. I gave myself a cooling off period before writing this review, which also allowed me to compare it to other Eugene restaurants. The restaurant ran out of multiple entrees by 7pm, with a relatively small menu. We chose second choices. Our waiter was either inexperienced or not good at his job. Not familiar with menu, items on the menu, etc.. We started dinner on the patio, but were overwhelmed by flies and bees. Was uneatable out there, and we were moved inside. The food was too salty for my palate. Dessert (goat cheese cheesecake) was also a miss in execution, despite being two of my favorites. The food was pretty in its presentation. Though on fiestaware plates. I am reluctant to be critical of a restaurant probably struggling to provide quality meals and experience in a small city setting. However, I don't feel the level of this restaurant experience justifies to the cost of the meal... too pricey for what we received. Relatively small portions too. I had better meals and service and lower prices at other restaurants in Eugene on this trip. This may have been an off day for rye restaurant, but this was my experience.

Google
Wonderful all-round experience for refined meals that don't exceed the limits of reason. I personally got the poutine, catch of the day dish (Chinook salmon), and a goat cheesecake to finish. Everything was perfectly seasoned and had contrast in its components, so as to not be monotonous or too rich. The staff were very friendly and provided wonderful service throughout my dining experience. Overall, very highly recommended for a fancier dining experience in the Eugene area!

The best food we had, in a short trip to Bend and Eugene. Really nice Coho; niçoise salad; great selection of whiskeys and other spirits.

Google
Pork schnitzel was leathery and unappetizing. Waitress ushered us out the door while we were still eating. Maybe don’t take reservations if you don’t have time for people to eat? This is supposed to be Eugene’s fine dining? I’d pick Elmer’s or Denny’s for both food and service.

My husband and I and our small dog Stella stopped in Eugene to spend the night on our way up to WA. I wanted a good dinner for us but we needed to bring Stella along for dinner. Thank goodness I found Rye. They have a dog friendly patio for well behaved dogs. We were immediately greeted with cold water and kindness. The patio was nice and shady and comfortable. The food here is fresh and delicious and artistic. My husband had the ribs which he really enjoyed. I had a fresh butter lettuce salad and the soup of the day; a tomato and it was so good I almost wanted another bowl. I also ordered a special pink martini and then one more. Not sure what was in it because it is a bartender secret but I'm guessing it was vodka based and tasted light, fresh and perfect for a summer day. The staff could not have been more attentive or friendly. I think 6 different ones came out to give a hello or a pat on the head for Stella. Do not hesitate to give this jewel of a restaurant a try. You won't be disappointed.

On an annual pilgrimage to Oregon Country Faire, we most happily stumbled upon a most auspicious eatery. Verily, Rye is a most excellent establishment, situated in the fair city of Eugene, Oregon, that I doth heartily commend to all who seek a delectable and memorable repast. From the moment I crossed the threshold, I was struck by the warm and inviting ambiance, as well as the courteous and attentive staff. One of the dishes that did most impress me at Rye was the saganaki, which was truly a marvel. The cheese was melted to perfection and possessed a most delightful flavor that was well-complemented by the accompanying bread and lemon. It was a most auspicious beginning to the meal and set the tone for the delights that were to follow. Methinks the charcuterie board, adorned with an array of cheeses, pates, and terrines, is a feast for both the eyes and the palate. The pates and terrines, crafted with the finest meats and herbs, are a savory delight, each bite bursting with flavor. The dried fruits, carefully selected and arranged, add a touch of sweetness and texture to the board, while the stone ground mustard provides a piquant contrast to the richness of the meats and cheeses. The house-made pickled vegetables, with their vibrant colors and crisp textures, are a refreshing accompaniment to the charcuterie. Another dish that I doth highly recommend is the spring chinook salmon. The fish was cooked to perfection and possessed a most exquisite flavor that was enhanced by the accompanying vegetables, polenta and sauce. It was a truly memorable dish that I would order again, next year without hesitation. I had the pleasure of sampling the mussels, which were truly outstanding. They were cooked to perfection and possessed a most savory flavor that was well-complemented by the accompanying broth and bread. It was a most delightful dish to share with companions and served as a splendid addition to the meal. Verily, I must express my utmost admiration for the dish known as sugo della domenica, for it hath transported me to the verdant hills of Tuscany. The tagliatelle was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of bite, and the sauce was a symphony of flavors that danced upon my palate. The tomatoes were sweet and tangy, ground pork and beef sautéed to magnificence, the garlic was pungent and aromatic, and the herbs were fresh and fragrant. It was a dish that I shall not soon forget and one that I would highly recommend to any lover of Italian cuisine. Indeed, I must say that the artisanal selection of handmade confections at this establishment is a true marvel. The confections are crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail, using only the finest ingredients and traditional techniques. The chocolates are rich and velvety, with a depth of flavor that is truly remarkable. The bon bons are delicate and decadent, with a smooth and creamy texture that melts in the mouth. Verily, the confection known as toffee is a most wondrous and delectable treat. Its creation is a delicate art, requiring the skillful blending of sugar and butter, heated to a precise temperature until it reaches a rich, golden hue. Once cooled, it is then broken into small, bite-sized pieces, each one a symphony of sweetness and texture. Truly, to partake of this confection is to experience a moment of pure indulgence, fit for the most discerning of palates. Truly, the confections at this establishment are a testament to the skill and artistry of the master confectioners who create them. It is a pleasure and an honor to partake in such exquisite treats, and I would highly recommend them to any lover of fine sweets. Truly, Rye hath outdone themselves, and it is a testament to their commitment to excellence in all aspects of their menu. In sum, I cannot recommend Rye highly enough. The cuisine is exceptional, the ambiance is warm and inviting, and the staff is courteous and attentive. If thou art in search of a fine establishment in Eugene, Oregon, I doth implore thee to visit Rye.

Yelp
I like this place..well, I have liked this place. I've had very good food here and very good service. Service here is normally quite good. I have noticed as of late that the portions have gotten smaller while the price has gotten larger. I ordered a lamb dish with grilled flatbread and I received two pieces of flatbread that were probably about the size of a domino. 33.00 Portion was small. Luke warm. Good flavor..nothing extraordinary, but good. When the bill came there was an added cost to use a credit card. They are passing along the fee to the customer. Many may understand but I feel this is petty. Rye has utilized the gas station tactic. Pretty lame.

Yelp
We had dinner here last week. We hadn't been to Rye for a few years only because it's been average every time. However, we decided to give it another try. I had the seafood special which was salmon and my wife had the quinoa salad. Both dishes were nothing special. We had chocolates for dessert which were delicious. Unfortunately we weren't privy to the 3% charge for using a credit or debit card. This practice is unacceptable for any restaurant or retailer to ask their customers to pay their merchant service fees. No mention was made by our server about the fee. Any restaurant or retailer that does this is out of touch with the already high prices for goods and services. Merchant service fees are part of owning a business. I can overlook many issues such as bad service, mundane ambiance, but for the prices Rye charges the food needs to be better than average which it is not.

Yelp
Unrelenting arrogance, surly and snootiness from all staff. Have dined there for years for lunch and dinner because they are near work. Food good - but limited menu. who needs to always feel (pick one....) A) I am doing you a favor by waiting on you. B) staff always acts like you are irritating them. C) always a side of stink eye with "I guess we could do that" if you ask for reasonable Modifications like no onions D) you'll also get cheap wilted bitter greens for every salad!

Yelp
What's not to like about Rye; good food, eclectic atmosphere and attentive service. My colleague said, I'd love this restaurant and she wasn't wrong. I ordered the Moroccan lamb sandwich...not like any sandwich I've ever had but no less delicious! The lamb was tender and the flatbread was fluffy...the peppers, hummus, feta and tzatziki sauce rounded out the mediterranean flavors of this sandwich. Deliciousness in every bit! Was literally in Eugene for a handful of hours and other than meeting with my colleagues, I'll remember Rye and look forward to come back.

Yelp
We tried Rye for the first time on a friend's recommendation for a special occasion dinner. The restaurant has a rustic lodge-like feel and not a lot of space, so reservations are highly recommended. We were seated right on time. The menu is short and changes periodically, and since many ingredients are locally or regionally sourced, most selections are fresh. My dinner partner ordered a decidedly German sausage plate with a French sounding name: Choucrote Garnie and a salad. I opted for the catch of the day, served on puréed vegetables, and a cup of the vegetarian soup of the day. Both meals were nicely prepared and presented. Prices for dinner entrees range from upper $20s to mid $40s, plus sides. I didn't see many vegetarian options. Service was mostly efficient but not friendly, and the tables/booths are close enough together to overhear your neighbors talking throughout the meal. Not the most pleasant dining experience from that perspective, but the food was good and wine pairings were decent. Our bill for two entrees with soup and salad and a couple glasses of wine came to over $125. Not inexpensive. We would dine here again on occasion and hope for a different table and server. Parking is available in their lot.

Yelp
Really enjoyed our meal here. Nice cozy atmosphere. Great service . Huge cocktail list. Everything on menu sounded good was hard to pick. We loved the warm goat cheese salad, steamed mussels. Main courses were large portions- duck breast and lamb schnitzel. Everything we saw going to other tables looked tasty. Enjoyed chocolates for dessert with coffee. More of a fancier night out- our entrees were in the $30s but delicious. Looking forward to going back. Big outdoor patio looked nice also

Yelp
We flew into Eugene to watch Ducks and one in particular graduate today. Dinner reservations had already been made in advance and we could only get a 8:30 spot. We decide to go an hour early and have a round at the bar before being seated. First thing I noticed was that they had the roll up "garage door" open to the patio and the weather at 74 degrees couldn't have made it feel any nicer with what one Yelp reviewer called a "rustic lodge" feel with its wooden interior. Our waiter was very nice and poured us some waters while he waited for our drink orders. Their cocktail menu had more than several different than the norm "oh, I wanna try that" kind of drinks. I went ahead and told the host who had a I am the owner kind of vibe that we were here and he said he would do what he could to get up seated quicker. After our drinks were served the waiter stayed engaged to conversation with us just adding to great vibe of everything Rye. Shortly thereafter the host approached us and said he had a table for us and it would be waiting for us whenever we were ready to move (total zero rush required on our part attitude). We took him up on the immediate 45 minute earlier seating time and looked forward to what was to come. We had one main waitress but more than several other servers brought and cleared plates throughout the meal. Being from out of town we ordered several appetizers to get a better variety of their culinary flare. We shared the calamari, which had a perfect and not greasy one iota. Next was the steamed mussels that was in a broth I can promise you that a drop did not go to waste. Third was the cheese and charcuterie board that was beautifully arranged with everything just being so right together. Lastly was the French onion soup that was small in size but mighty in flavor. I made the mistake of ordering a glass of wine that didn't come by the glass and the waitress shortly came back with a wine list to help find me a proper replacement. For my main I ordered the Chinook king salmon that was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. Everyone else enjoyed their mains as well. For dessert we shared a single slice of the goat cheese cheesecake that finished off the night perfectly. The night wasn't without one or two slights but as fine as this meal was I'm gonna leave it at that. I will say if you would like maybe a special occasion, upscale, eclectic, gourmet restaurant in Eugene this has to be the place.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in town! I always recommend it to anyone asking for places to try. It should be on every local foodies list. The duck is my favorite, it's always cooked perfectly! The service is usually wonderful as well. It's a cute spot with outdoor seating as an option. They also have chocolates you can get, I always order some to go after our dinner. Overall, the price is worth the food and experience. I'm never disappointed coming to Rye.

Yelp
Lovely interior and area for lunch. Server was perfunctory and multi tasked as bartender and assisting the kitchen. My cocktail was average compared to other espresso martini drinks at other area restaurants. The mushroom squash melt was good but needed a denser (seeded whole wheat maybe) sandwich roll and the delicata squash would have fit in the sandwich in a more cohesive manner if sliced in rings rather than thick sticks. I opted for a cup of onion soup rather than fries. The soup was definitely onion soup. I liked the ambiance and will return to try out the dinner menu.

Yelp
Food was so amazing and service and ambiance was good too. The carrots and tomato burrata appetizers were phenomenal, unique flavor and the sauce was sooooo good

Yelp
Ahh this place is SO GOOD! Pleasantly surprised as my family and I came in to eat dinner here on a Friday night after a long week of moving here. We ordered the short rib, pork chop and quinoa salad w salmon and it was all so delicious! I also had a grey goose martini and they made it exactly how I asked. This may be our new favorite restaurant. 10/10!

Yelp
Delicious food! Nice ambiance. Attentive service. I went with two friends. We each ordered completely different entres and all felt like ours was the best.

Yelp
The food was really fresh! Everything we ordered we ate. Service was friendly. Ambiance, very nice place and well decorated.

Yelp
A lovely, casual eatery with classic continental cuisine, all well-prepared and served by a friendly waitstaff. We had french onion soup, a caesar salad (the most disappointing part of the meal -- too much garlic, not enough/any anchovy), mussels (delicious!), coq au vin (perfect on a cold day) and pot de creme (rich and enough for two). Bonus: keep an eye out for the handsome server who looks like Michael McDonald circa 1983 :)

Yelp
Our first time here and we absolutely loved it. Charming staff, nice dark, sultry chilled ambience. Food, super solid. Definitely go to when in Eugene! Yummy choucroute, poutine, omg the side of CARROTS with feta, pomegranate, dried chile paste, carrot puree!!!

Yelp
The food was extremely good First time I eat everything on my plate !! The vibe is so old school , slow and relaxing . Service is no slow it all ! The guy at the bar was so nice and fast ! Honestly one of my fav spot in Eugene .

Serena J.

Yelp
We chose this restaurant for our 5 year anniversary, because we had been before and enjoyed the food. Our experience this time was unfortunately a disappointment. The service was poor, despite the meal being delicious. We ordered another appetizer, which didn't arrive until after our meal, which we also had to flag down a different server to order, in the first place. Our drinks were not refilled, despite moving empty glasses to the end of the table. For $30-$40 an entree, we'd expect better service and a better evening. It's doubtful we will return.
google avatar

Josh B.

Yelp
We arrived a bit early for our reservation and it just seemed that no one really cared- albeit I heard a wait person said they were slammed. We were seated a little early and our app and salad came out in a timely manner. Our entrees took about an hour and by that time my kid had had enough. We took our food to go instead and it seemed like it took forever to get them out to us. Upon eating (10 minutes later) food was just so-so. Beef short ribs were a bit overdone, shrimp n grits were flavorful but not great and seafood pasta was meh according to the kid. Kid is actually 22. I think the confluence of events in our day and that they were busy intersected in a bad way. There was also a smell that my kid noticed. I did too but it went away for me. I'll give this place a maybe and I'll try again next time I'm in Eugene...

Yelp
The service and food are always excellent. Lunch and dinner menus are varied & delicious.

Yelp
Driving to Washington made a pit stop. Yelped nearby fresh salad . Food was fresh although they were closing in 15 minutes. Service was great. Our waiter was a friendly young man. Ordered the steak and fries as a main dish and a roasted cauliflower salad with chicken. Everything was freshly made. Steak Perfectly seasoned and cooked medium just as requested. Deliciously juicy. The fever Tree tonic was a refreshing. The ambiance had a good quiet indoor outdoor airy atmosphere. Definitely recommend 100%. :)

Yelp
My favorite Eugene dinner. They always have a number of great entrees including fish and lamb. And the chocolates for dessert are the perfect two bite sweet end to a meal we have always talked about. And if that was not enough, the selection of bourbons and ryes is the best in town.
google avatar

James L.

Yelp
Excellent I'm guessing it was boring last time we went here a decade ago? We will be back, for sure. The ambiance is warm and comfortable. I ordered the khoresh-e fesenjoon, a Persian sweet and sour chicken stew with pomegranate, walnut and fried onion, served with saffron rice & Lebanese cabbage slaw. I don't know what makes the slaw Lebanese, but it was good. The whole thing was just excellent. Hubby ordered seasonal mushroom gnocchi with a porcini infused cream sauce. It was so savory with so much flavor, total umami fest. All in all, it was a wonderful dinner. I look forward to returning soon.

Yelp
My wife had her birthday dinner there on Thursday August 22nd. This was our first visit and immediately the waitress was put off by our group of 7. She was not attentive to our table and when we wanted the check split between the couple at the table, she refused and said that there was a gratuity added for tables over 6. That was not a problem for anyone if she wanted to limit her gratuity then so be it. But her refusing to do anything with what the bill was.is absolutely appalling. This was most definitely a one and done for us. Rather eat anywhere else

Slappy C.

Yelp
You don't even need to go past the appetizers and salads to have an outstanding meal here. Everything else just comes as a bonus. Staff is friendly and quick and the food is sensational. Pricey and sometimes busy, but you can grab a spot at the bar and have a drink and a snack and leave feeling satisfied
google avatar

Ken J.

Yelp
The atmosphere and cocktails were great but the steak for 37$ was underwhelming- thin and tasteless - if this was a New York strip they must have got it not from a reputable butcher. I've had similar in Alabama. Or any back water. Eugene or is not a foodie town for sure.
google avatar

Vanessa H.

Yelp
We came here for a NYE dinner. I'd say our whole experience was "Good not Great" but far from bad. My husband had the duck special of the day, the duck was very tough and hard to eat but the bed of sweet potato (or butternut squash?) purée was fantastic. He says he would have gladly eaten his weight in those! I had the Gnocchi which I thought was very good. Creamy and flavorful. Our server was pleasant and attentive! Drinks came out quickly too!

Yelp
I have driven past here for some time swearing I would try it. I had a craving for onion soup and of course Yelp brought this up. Since it is my birthday we decided to kill two birds with one stone. I could not have chosen a better place to celebrate the upcoming year. The old fashioned I ordered was one day the best I've had. The onion soup was perfection. The food, the service, the beverages were all top shelf. I highly recommend this place for a nice evening out.

Martin H.

Yelp
Somebody else left a review that this place is " soul-sucking. " How true that comment is! Look for it here on Yelp. I didn't quite understand that until I visited this lousy restaurant. Everything from the service to the food was horrible. Even the guy who checked us in for dinner was an ass - no greeting, no nothing - not even follow me. The people who work there don't care about your dining experience whatsoever. They're totally just in it for the paycheck. I understand that to an extent. Supposed fine dining usually calls for a dedicated staff - not here. But, if you want a good tip, you give good service even if to just say hello and be as accommodating as you can. I was a server for over 20 years so I know about good service. The bartender, the server, even the damn host all acted completely bothered by our presence. Wait! Aren't we coming to your establishment in the hopes of good service and a good meal? Apparently not. How can this terrible place get good reviews and rank high on nice places to dine in Eugene? Some restaurants try to ride on those reviews forever; they don't last as more people visit and get terrible service and worse food. Rye is just another place that goes down on one of the worst places to eat in Eugene. I'll make sure to spread the word all over town every chance I get. Save your hard-earned money and DO NOT COME to this horrible restaurant. I realize fine dining is lacking here. But, Rye is not fine dining in any sense of the word. Again, the service, the food, AND the atmosphere are all severely lacking. Unfortunately, I had to leave one star - can't put zero or below like Rye deserves.

Yelp
This is a go/to spot! One of the best in all of the Eugene area. Lots of unique drinks and food, and the atmosphere is always buzzing.

Yelp
You decide. We made a reservation for 5 nearly 60 days in advance. Cancelled it 5 days before the date. The date was U of O graduation. The restaurant charged us $125 for the cancelled reservation. No phone call was made to us prior to 7 days to confirm the reservation. Nothing was said to us when we called to cancel. After charging us, they explained the policy was $25/person if cancelled less than 7 days before event. My world...,. unconscionable. Customer service doesn't seem to be on the menu.

Craig H.

Yelp
When I go out to eat or when write about a place here on Yelp, it's always about the food. While the food was outstanding (more on that later), I want to start with kudos, compliments, and appreciation for our server. She was in a word fantastic: very knowledgeable about the menu, attentive and so forth, but really stood out was her personality. While all good service is friendly, what I felt was something more rare: authenticity. Perhaps it was because our dinner conversation was about AI, but the human connection and its importance to a remarkable meal can't be overstated. It elevates the food. Speaking of which: the elote style roasted carrot were exceptional and, like the za'taar salad, shows what results when creativity, craft, and the right ingredients come together--pure food goodness. Our dining companion couldn't stop raving about his salmon. Dessert was fantastic--rich and sweet without being overly cloying. A long review so I'll wrap it up with a simple EAT HERE!

Paul R.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. The restaurant is unique and welcoming. Great drink and dessert combos.

Matt T.

Yelp
Rye is a consistent performer for my family and a favorite spot for us to get together and break bread. The staff is always accommodating, helpful, and has a great grasp of the menu and supporting beverages as well. The menu is creative and well executed, and I can't remember the last time we had a meal with any issues. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
First off, the restaurant was noisier than I expected. Our table was in a little nook, which made it feel private, but a combination of one particularly boisterous group (obviously not Rye's fault) and the bar which winds through the restaurant ensured that there was a lot of loud talking and laughing along with the clatter of glasses and ice while drinks were being mixed. Appetizers were much better than the entrees. Poutine with a duck-confit demi-glace, and a citrus & halloumi salad. The salad was unique, but not unwelcome. The poutine was everything you want in poutine with the added brightness of a slaw on top that made the dish. The entrees were good, but not as creative or unique as we expected, especially compared to the appetizers. We had the mushroom gnocchi and the lamb sauerbraten, both of which were cooked really well, but didn't strike either of us as outstanding must-haves. Okay, except for the roasted broccoli that came with the lamb. Somehow that broccoli was amazing, and I was heartbroken that I only received 2 medium sized pieces. In the end, the food was good, but given the price we probably won't be coming back, unless were planning on making a meal of several of the appetizers.

Yelp
Rye's atmosphere is comfortable and sexy. It has very homey food, and impeccable cocktails. The duck poutine is an absolute must! The service is always friendly and strong. I chatted with the owner last night about their tipping, well, no tipping program, and he had some really great perspective and future plans around it. He said during the pandemic it's been challenging for his employees so he decided to give them raises, and take away tipping. He said they loved it at first. He also said that since people are dining again, he'll likely keep them at their wages and allow tips to come back. Since the workers were asking for them to come back. He expressed understanding the importance of fairness between the kitchen and the sales floor and made it pretty clear from our conversation that he felt like it was up to his team to decide what was best..hopefully they can all come to the best conclusion for the workers. I had the poutine, the beet salad, and the French onion soup. We also got the duck entree, pot de creme, and pecan maple peanut butter cup. All of which were great! The charcuterie platter is actually a proper cheese and charcuterie board as well! I also appreciate that they offer truffles for dessert. That way you can get a little sweet treat if you are full! I will definitely be back for the poutine!!
google avatar

Jason R.

Yelp
Very mediocre food for a big price. Atmosphere is very dull and off putting. Service was okay nothing special. For the price tag there's definitely better in Eugene

Elle S.

Yelp
Gave Rye another chance after a few years of hiatus after the "tip free phase" resulted in disappointing dining. The comment below indicating a "soul sucking vibe" could not be more accurate though for its current state. The entire experience was uncomfortable. Service is a "be happy we are serving you at all" at best. Giving two stars because the poutine is good, even though they took our plate before we were done without asking. Would I call it fine dining? Definitely not. Did we get fed? Yes. Will we go back again? No. It's insanely expensive for just ok food. Eugene is a rough food scene but there are most definitely better places to find something good to eat without such a step price tag or indifference to customer service. Also be aware, they will sneakily add 4% charge for using your card to pay.

Sharon H.

Yelp
For a Wednesday evening dinner at the Rye there was a decent inside crowd but not too noisy which it can be at times. The service was good from the waiter and those assisting-most of the wait people are pleasant. The food was well presented and of good taste. The pricing seemed to be a bit on the high side $28-$38 for an entree but always consistently delicious. The ambience is fine not great but satisfactory. it is a popular restaurant due to its location, service and preparation. The amount of food is by no means more than one person can consume but is just enough. Since it is the casual northwest most patrons are in very casual wear(men in denim for the most part) as is some of the waitstaff. All in all it is a consistently good place to have an enjoyable meal-lunch $$ Dinner $$$

Yelp
Impressive place. This will be a nice treat whenever in Eugene. We didn't have reservations but they seated us very graciously right away despite a busy evening. In future I won't take chances and will be sure to make a reservation. I'm from California so the price of the New York steak is just amazing. These were delicious, fresh, perfectly prepared. Wow. I started off with a bowl of their homemade beer cheese broccoli soup. So good! Our server recommended a lemonocelli and gin cocktail that was so refreshing and delicious I had another. To top it off I had one the dark chocolate and orange salted candies. Perfect dinner!

Yelp
Rye is THE most underrated restaurant in Eugene. The food there is excellent, even down to the soups, which are always so amazingly delicious. They use a ton of local foods, and their specials are always inventive and tasty as well. I loved their Poutine, and my regular menu items are the burger and the Steak. Try it, you won't waste your time at any other random pub for good food.

Yelp
Must have caught the server on the floor on a bad day. It totally killed the vibe, even more so than the quality and atmosphere. I lost my appetite., If you want dinner, go elsewhere. There are far better options, with far better attitudes and atmospheres for the price. It's a HARD PASS. What a let down. Lousy facility, way too over priced, over worked and stressed out workers. Someone needs some sleep. The passive aggressive attitude killed it all for me. Never again.

Yelp
Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, great cocktail and wine list. Fantastic specials ( if they have the duck get it) can get crowded fast so make reservations

Yelp
Food was excellent, service was good but pretty slow. What totally surprised me was a new "credit card usage" charge of $2.40 on a $60.00 bill. This is more than what the credit card companies charge the restaurant. I was irritated. Don't know if I will go back any time soon. Don't nickel and dime your customers with unexpected charges.

Yelp
After an afternoon walking around the nearby park, I ended up making reservations for dinner here. I wasn't sure what to expect. The interior is dark and pub like, but the patio was nice and chill. I was freezing even though it was in the 70s, so ordered a warm cup of coffee with complimentary refills. It was hard to choose an entree. Everything on the menu looked amazing. I ended up choosing the catch of the day, which ended up being salmon with delicious veggies, strawberry/watermelon relish and topped with crumbled goat cheese. It definitely set the bar high and made me really impressed with the Eugene dining scene. I almost went back for another meal during this trip b/c it was so good.

Yelp
Visited for the first time this past weekend and was not impressed. Service was decent, food was good, drinks were just okay. The atmosphere was so off putting. Staff seemed so unhappy. Place was dark and dreary. Bar tender was less than hospitable.

Yelp
One word: Poutine. I keep coming back for their poutine. Its becoming a problem. :) It's seriously one of the best things I've eaten since moving to Eugene. In addition, their service has always been great. From the host, the servers, the bartender and the owner. Their bartenders come up with unique cocktails and are happy to give recomendations. They have indoor and outdoor covered seating. I recommend getting reservations as they are often busy. It can get a little noisy because its a smaller dining area, but I think it makes a nice date spot or special occasion night out. You can be dressed up or more casual, and it would be fine.

Yelp
Friendly staff, delicious food, and yummy drinks. We had the flat bread, French onion soup, whiskey sour, and lost in Barbados. For dessert a chocolate martini with pot du chocolate, and the butter toffee paired with Dickel bourbon. Absolutely fabulous. We've gone back 3 days in a row, tried new dishes and everything was delicious. Especially the drinks. Love this place, has such a relaxing friendly vibe and it's a gem !

Yelp
Seems like a popular place. Really cool drinks and the food has been great both times we've been. Portions are a little small, but sort of expected at a place like this.

Yelp
So I admit, I usually end up at Rye and sit in their bar. I mostly come for their cocktails although their food is good, too. If you love whiskey, whisky, rye, bourbon, or everything above, Rye probably has the best selection maybe aside from Meiji. Be sure to try their Old Fashioned or Manhattan; I cannot recommend those enough and they have excellent bartenders. Their food is solid. I usually come for lunch if I'm eating as I find their dinner menu quite spendy. Their poutine is a can't miss and they have a good mix of salads as well. If you come for dinner, be prepared to spend at least $25 per entree. I find their lunch menu to be more my speed. Their rueben, club, and burger are all $14.
