"This upscale downtown sushi restaurant has its own delivery service and has been offering pick-up since the beginning of the pandemic. Ryu is well-known for the 100 percent sustainably-sourced seafood that graces its rolls, but it’s also now delivering amazing desserts — like milk and cookies — from sister establishment Livia Sweets." - Yara El-Soueidi

If you're a sushi lover and you're looking for a restaurant that offers fresh and delicious sushi, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. The sushi here is some of the freshest and most flavorful that I've ever tasted. Each piece is crafted with care and precision, and the combination of flavors is simply exquisite. The service here is also very good, with friendly and attentive staff who are always willing to help and answer questions. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also quite nice, with a modern and elegant decor that sets the tone for a great dining experience. However, the biggest downside of this restaurant is its price. The prices here are very high, and this is definitely not the place to go if you're on a budget. While the quality of the food and service is definitely top-notch, the prices can be a bit of a shock to the wallet. Overall, if you're willing to pay the high prices, this sushi restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

The ambiance and decor are really nice, vibe is good, staff are very friendly and attentive. The miso soup was quite salty and the tofu wasn’t soft. Not much to it so I would suggest to skip it. As well the seaweed salad was really boring, not much flavour or seaweed. It looked beautiful but the dressing was off or lacking some needed vinegar punch to balance the sour of the green papaya. Again I would suggest skip it and focus on the sushi. The sushi was excellent, but again I can only give 3 stars as they were out of tuna (or was being reserved for a special roll that we could not eat due to dietary restrictions). Overall I would say this was not great considering it’s quite pricier than other places. I will try again though…

The sushi is absolutely amazing! The fish tastes so fresh and it just melts in your mouth. The atmosphere is very calm yet great music is playing in the background. Cocktails were delicious and fruity that it makes you feel like you're vacationing at the beach. And the dessert! This blueberry pie was outstanding, it's made by a Japanese baker just for Ryu. In terms of $ it is more on expensive side since you are paying per plate but if you are looking for a wonderful night for a special occasion or just want to treat yourself, I would definitely recommend going here.

My favorite sushi restaurant in Montreal! Bluefin tuna is sooooooo delicious and the Japanese sea urchin is like a dream! The price is very reasonable if you consider how fresh and premium the ingredients are. A lot of them are shipped from Japan every day. Service is also excellent. Better make a reservation as you can tell them the specific fish you like so that they can reserve for you

One of our fave places to dine. Although on the pricier side, the food and ambiance are worth it. The staff is very friendly and professional. We had them pick for our table and we were very happy with the choices. Overall, we loved the makis, the sashimis and the truffle shiitake roll. Would come back and recommend.

Google
very good nigiri sushi, hand made and shaped well, the ration between rice and fish is great as well. ingredients are fresh and they do have some seasonal and high end ingredients like bluefin and sea urchin. bit pricey but overall worth the money.

A tad on the expensive side however the taste was worth everything. I highly recommend trying out their paradise sushi and sanzai sushi. Their sashimi platters are amazing as well.

Google
Good high-end sushi place. Similar experience to a restaurant like Jun I, but prices significantly higher, which seems unjustified. Some fish are uniquely offered here. Sashimis and specialty makis were great. Nigiris had too much wasabi for my tastes -I wish they asked before putting it in every morsel.

Yelp
OpenTable took our reservation for Ryu Westmount and charged us $75 to Make rez. We received confirming email from the resto and OpenTable. When we arrived at Ryu, the place was closed and had been for days. When we called, we got another Ryu branch (it's a chain) who were unhelpful and hung up on us. Since they are closed but will still take your reservation fee, I cannot recommend.

Yelp
Food was amazing. I'm giving it a 4 star cause its definitely overpriced and they screwed a few things up for our allergies and the wait staff was a little meh for the price you pay. Bill at the end wrong as well. Make sure you look over the bill. Like I say the food was really good though. 4 stars.

Yelp
Stopped into the newly opened Ryu for lunch with my mom this week. A nice addition to the Greene avenue lunch scene. It's a little more upscale than a lot of the cafes in the area, when we came in for lunch on a weekday, they asked if we had a reservation. We didn't, but it wasn't a problem. We both had the poke bowls, my mom had the vegetarian and I had the salmon. It was excellent, beautiful presentation and very flavourful, with a generous portion of salmon. The fish was very fresh. There were a lot of other interesting things on the menu, mostly sushi, maki and sashimi, with some great lunch specials, that I am looking forward to trying. This is a proper sit down restaurant, not a place to grab and go a quick lunch, so I would say give yourself at least 30-40 minutes if you plan to eat here. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are on the higher side, expect to spend $20-30 per person for lunch, but the quality is well worth it.

Yelp
Ryú's location on Ste-Catherine Street in Westmount opened today. I discovered their Peel location earlier this summer thanks to a Yelp review and have been loving it ever since. So I'm super excited for this new location that just opened around the corner from my office. I was walking by today and saw that they had opened, not to waste any time we headed in for lunch. For a restaurant operating on their first day I must say the things seem to be running very smoothly. The only thing I noticed was that they were not yet ready for take out orders, by next week they said they will. The fish was super fresh and very nicely presented, as is always the case at Ryú. This location is quite a bit more roomy than the Peel street location and is decorated in an urban contemporary theme with an Asian influence. All very nice. They also have a large coffee bar set up and seem well equipped. Overall I was really impressed and all signs point towards the food maintaining the excellent quality that I've come to expect from Ryú.

Yelp
Love their chic decor, creative sushi. Amazing taste and fresh of everything I ordered. The waiter was friendly. Great Japanese tea, absolutely one of the best sushi restaurent in Montreal. Recommend!

Yelp
Tuna poke was good. Maki rolls were fishy. Salmon poke had too much mayo. Service was very slow.
