Great ambience that leads to good dining experience. The staff are very friendly and the owner speaks good English, so a pretty easy place for foreigners to check out and enjoy. The dishes are yummy, with some pleasant surprises on the flavors. Definitely a great place to chill and enjoy with friends! We managed to walk in, but do recommend to make reservations beforehand.

I strongly recommend this restaurant. It’s okinawa Chinese restaurant i think? Umi budo is very goooooooood!!! It’s very special because I had never have umibudou with cream cheese and crackers and some 🍋 lemon! It’s very very perfect!❣️ and goya chamburu i dont know how to spell yeah good as well. And omlet in taiwan version. It’s really similar to Thailand so I kindly like this dish haha. Alcohol is nice. Staffs are so friendly and very polite 💙💙 I will come back again for sure!

Went on a Tuesday at 8pm and it was pretty full but they made space for me at the counter. Really friendly staff. Food was really nice and want to try new dishes next time.

A place to go if you want atmosphere and super good food. I love to go and stand by counter. They will make smaller portion for me if I go by myself. they also make this mapo-tofu without meat for me. Everything is good so try as many as possible. Opens til late night. Reservation recommended if you go with a few people

Trendy, local Okinawa fusion restaurant in the west Shibuya suburbs. Run by an owner chef who has a passion for wine, this small shop has some good small plates with original flavors. Located around the restaurant are shelves of wine that you can handle and buy. Nice place to hang out with a friend and catch up to small bites and good food. Gets crowded so definitely make reservations. Counters are somewhat narrow so opt for the tables .

Truly special spot in Shibuya area. Tama-san and his family deliver on delicious dishes, fine wines, excellent service, and overall wonderful ambiance and experience. Definitely recommend the gyoza, umibudo appetizers, yodaredori chicken, and basically anything on the menu. Have not found a mediocre dish yet. Dishes go really well with a beer or bottle of wine. Reservations a good idea but not always needed

Not sure if it’s an insult to the main islands that this is the best food I ate in Japan but what can you do

Yelp
This restaurant is located between Omotesando and Shibuya. The taste is inspired both Okinawa and Taiwan. The cost is casual and the food is nice. There are many kind of wines.

Yelp
We found this place when looking for La Boutique de Joel Robuchon, which happens to be just above this restaurant in the Maronouchi train station. Loved the chicken soba in a sesame sauce. It's a bio restaurant, meaning organic! They did offer an English menu, which was quite helpful. I ordered the chicken soba and my husband ordered the pork soba. My broth was hot and my husband's was cold. I far preferred mine. His had seaweed over the pork, which gave the whole bowl a fishy taste. It was definitely full of locals on their lunch breaks. The food came out in a flash and the quality of the ingredients was very impressive! Worth checking out if in the area.

Yelp
"Ryukyu Chinese TAMA" is an interesting place, serving a combination of "Ryukyu" style food (Ryukyu is the old name of southernmost island, Okinawa) and Chinese food. In all honesty, I personally didn't see much of "Chinese" in their dishes and mostly it was Okinawa style. But the food was good even for me who is not a huge fan of Okinawa style food. It's just very different from what I grew up eating and can't get used to it. Putting that aside, the place was packed and seemed very popular. It was lively and the service of the staff was pleasant. I really liked their noodle dishes and it made me want to come for lunch next time. Interestingly, they have lots of wines lined up on the walls, within a reasonable price range. The downside is that it's a bit of a walk from any station, but the atmosphere is very good, not fancy but not too casual, thus can be used for a date. I actually saw several couples and it's definitely a "good to put on your daily-use list" type of place. By the way, I give it a relatively low score just because I'm not Okinawa kind of guy, and thus it's very personal. For most other people, this place should be rated higher.
