Visited the Farmer's Market on Weds from 3-7pm. Lots of parking, but still hard to find a spot if showing up after 5pm. Not a ton of vendors tbh. Good quality fruit and tasty food available for purchase. Most people bring a blanket and some snacks, then chill on the lawn while they watch their kids run amuck. There's live music for the last hour next to the water too!

Peaceful place during the golden hour. A lot of water activity during the day.

While I’ve never seen any skiing competitions here, the park near the rowing club is spectacular. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises. You can usually see small boats going by and people walking their dogs. A great place to just bring a blanket, maybe a picnic, and just sit and enjoy yourself. Miss this place since moving out of Long Beach.

Originally designed for olympic events, it's now became my favorite place to unwind, meditate, take my dog for a walk or even do the occasional fishing adventure. One of long beaches hidden gems.

Beautiful low key outdoor space! However it is surrounded by quite neighborhoods. We felt unsure to be able to picnic there until we saw others hanging out there. Plenty of free parking.

Nice spot for a car photo shoot, Right by the water as some people were fishing, people riding bikes, joggers passed by

Yelp
LBC Marine Stadium has my favorite secret slice of grass area with dogs allowed. Free parking. BUT no restrooms. There are trash cans though. There is a concrete path for strolling or jogging around the marina. View is amazing from the grass. Boats, and wake boarders performing tricks and such. Across the street where the boat can dock on the beach is full of people beaching it on the sand. There are restrooms there. No dogs allowed. Not really meant for swimming and playing in the waters but we still see people do it. Call LBC Park and Recs to make sure this patch of areas are not reserved for any events too. No overnight parking. Located near the Rowing Association.

Yelp
I spent the morning in the area of Marine Stadium to support a family member running the Long Beach Classic Half Marathon. This beautiful location was the starting/finishing point for the run. Located adjacent to Mother's Beach, you'll see many people rowing and kayaking. The area has kayak and paddle board rentals. Plenty of parking, restrooms, a playground, and in close proximity to 2nd & PCH and 2nd Street if you're hungry.

Yelp
How does one participate in sports outside of school or in a professional environment? If you're like the folks who showed up this past Saturday, you get out of your comfort zone and try something new. In this case, the Long Beach Dragon Boat festival was the challenge at hand, and I had the privilege of paddling alongside my fellow colleagues in the corporate division. As a complete noob who just did a handful of trainings, I had a really fun time. The age range for this dragon boating is inspiring, and you can't say that about many sports. The venue around here in the mornings most weekends are full of people training in rowing/paddling sports. The weather can be pretty foggy early in the morning, but it warms up slightly throughout the day, staying mild compared to the inland temperatures. During the festival, tens of hundreds of tents are set up for teams to regroup and rest in between their assigned heats. It seemed jarring initially that we were set up camp so close to residential houses, but I'm pretty sure their used to it by now. Parking and traffic in the morning can get hectic, so I opted to park a little further and closer to Mother's Beach, but the earlier you get here the more options you have. Turns out this will be the site for a few LA Olympics events in 2028, so looking forward to visiting when that time comes.

Yelp
After the recent snowfall in the Los Angeles area, we had hoped to see the snow topped mountains in the distance. It is possible to do so in winter months, however they were not visible at all that day. In any event, a peaceful place to stroll.

Yelp
Marine Stadium is a long aquatic gem in Long Beach that provides peace, fun, zen, beauty, freedom, exercise, and everything to the community and for entertainment. It held many events such as Dragon Boat Race annually, the farmer market each week, church, people practicing their water skills, biking, jogging, walking, picnic, mini hike, and etc. I see beauty on the side walk and the water. Enjoy!

Yelp
I've never been here specifically for the Marine Stadium, but I've run through here annually in October during the Long Beach Marathon. Recently, I participated in an inaugural half marathon in August where the start and finish line was at the southeast end boat launch ramp parking lot. There were ample parking and restrooms along the southern stretch of sand. The northwest end has a grassy area as well as 2 tennis courts. The northern side also has parking and small stretches of grass with the rowing center at the end. This looked to be a nice place to get in your exercise or to just relax and enjoy some fresh air.

Yelp
Great spot for a Regatta. You can sit on the beach, or watch from your car. The restrooms are typically stocked & clean and the facility seems to be run well. Marine stadium offers lots of free parking, offering 2 full parking lots and plentiful street parking. I enjoy watching the cranes, pelicans and ducks in between races. The horticulture around this area is stunning!

Yelp
This area is super chill. It's a branch off of the ocean but it's very much like a long lake. Calm waters perfect for small watercraft and you'll see lots of water skiing up and down the small channel. The people in the area are all just out enjoying the day. Walking, jogging, biking, some sitting in the shade or by the water. There are sandy areas and some nice shaded green spots on the far end. It's kind of off the beaten path and that's probably how this community likes it. I haven't found it overcrowded but I don't know if that's just a result of the current pandemic. I'll see what it's like next summer, but even if busy, it's still a nice spot to get some recreation in.

Yelp
This place has everything that you want in a recreational park. It's scenic, safe, clean, frequented by friendly neighbors, and most of all, a constant cool breeze keeps it comfortable through all seasons. The bathroom is actually quite clean for a public restroom. Across the street, a new bathroom was just constructed next to the tennis court, so you have options when it comes to facilities. Street parking is plentiful, and when there is an event, the parking lot becomes available (but usually requires a fee). There are many summer events at the location, including concert at the park, family movie nights, and farmer's market with live music every Wednesday.

Yelp
I love coming here to walk my dog and enjoy the view of the water. This is where the rowing comps were held in the1932 and 1984 LA Olympics. It will probably host it again when the Olympics come back to LA in 2028.

Yelp
Marine stadium This is a cool spot where boats race but also where they host New Years run. Which my daughter ran today. Was a very nice run and very cold but I slept in the car lol Place is fun very big park area only thing was that restroom was closed that part I was not happy about. But this is kid friendly area. Also bike lanes and running is best here

Yelp
Nice place to run, walk, row, boat or waterski :) Always a nice mix of people when I come by, from just about every age group and walk of life. That makes it a great place to people watch or--of your feeling sociable--even say "hi" and converse with them. The park side has a grassy are for you to play, sit or hangout. On Wednesdays there is a nice farmers market with a variety of food and wares to check out. Prices are not cheap, but reasonable there.

Yelp
Been coming here for a few years now. Always really quiet and relaxing during the week mostly, HOWEVER, first time my wife and myself experienced something strange while soaking in knee deep water. Something was " biting " the tops of our feet here and there, almost felt like a gentle sting ? I looked down and saw what looked like a tiny grey slimy thing. We think it could be some sort of salt water leech ? And it left a very small blood droplet after shaking it off. This did happen in the water, and not on the shore and sand. I know sand fleas can sometimes bite, but this was in the water on the shore. If anyone can provide any good info regarding this, please do so... Sort of strange to happen there.

Yelp
Good place to wakeboard, but you have to watch out for those people who think they need to show off how fast their boat can go. First off it's illegal and why must you show off to people who already have boats in there. Please be respectful of others in there and we are all just trying to have a good time.

Yelp
K...*scratching head*...same place as listed for a FREE Summer Concert Series event attended last week, hosted by The Orange County Wine Meetup Group? (http://www.meetup.com/ocwine/calendar/13739282/) b/c their address posted: 5316 E. Eliot St, Long Beach, CA 90803 If so, then YAY!!! It was GREAT!!! Both the venue & the outdoor, easy-breezy weather-friendly, fun live bands/singers performing. Even kids can enjoy chalk-drawing or dancing w/their fam impromptu on the soft green grass. So what else to do there but enjoy a summertime fave treat; an evening picnic w/hundreds of close strangers sharing the same street-lit water reflected, LB bridge gorgeous view?! After the music fades, a romantic place for 2 or gathering of friends, strumming guitars can definitely stretch out the warm cozy night.

Yelp
This is where you go when you don't want to worry about parking, finding a spot to lay on, or being intimidated by too many super hot people. Great little hidden spot with white sandy beach, grassy park, calm waters protected from the currents. Very relaxing.

Yelp
This place is the WORST place ever!!! Don't come here. It's so bad that I will not even upload pics because I don't want you to get eyesores! Seriously, I'd hate for you to waste your time coming here with all of your friends to bother me in my calm, serene me-time! Go somewhere else, and let the regulars enjoy this gorgeous place!! (This place deserves 5 stars by the way)

Yelp
I don't know how great it is. I came for an outdoor craft fair. But there was adequate parking and available restrooms. Lost a star because it was confusing how to get here with the GPS. Could have been marked clearly.

Yelp
Marine Stadium is a great place to race, but my only complaint is the parking. It's terrible, forcing many to park on the streets in the residential neighborhood that surrounds it.

Yelp
Long beach junior crew, masters rowing teams, and some college rowing teams all use marine stadium I love it and it's also really fun for speedboats too...

Yelp
Today is my 2nd time here this summer. This is a hidden gem for the whole family. Feels like a private beach. Clean, quiet, easy parking, clean bathrooms. A real vacation spot.

Yelp
You can really tell there has been decades of history at this landmark. When I walk my dog here, I sometimes imagine what it might have looked like back in the day. Wakeboarders come here everyday, and there is a sandy beach from which to spectate. Also, this is where they have the small local Wednesday Farmer's Market.

Yelp
We go there for the boat races. Looking around, the small beach area is nice...but very small and narrow. Great if it is not a busy weekend

Joey B.

Yelp
Water skied here more than 200 times. Thanks to the city (and the 1932 olympics) for providing this great place. Nice boat races too. I miss the grand stands.

Yelp
It's a beautiful place to hang out. That's where we have our summer concerts in the park and it's so peaceful and beautiful and fun! Long Beach is truly the coolest city in So Cal and I love living here!
