A short hop west of town, this family‑run spot turns out peppery brisket, jalapeño‑havarti sausage, and an excellent burger. Ranked top‑10 statewide by Texas Monthly in 2025, it’s a worthy detour for serious eaters.

Dayne’s isn’t merely a barbecue joint; it’s where meat lovers gather. Some say it’s the best BBQ joint in Texas. It could be. But, what they’re doing with their kolaches borders on divine mischief. Probably the some of the most delicious, soft, golden kolaches you can find. They make you rethink your morning priorities. Come Thursday, Friday or Saturday morning when the doors open at 7am, skip the line at Starbucks and feed your soul. Grab a breakfast burrito or taco that tastes like heaven but costs like mercy. It’s a reward for surviving another week in this wild republic we call Texas.

A well liked place by locals and tourists. After a moderate wait I ordered the loaded potatoes with prime brisket. The meat was delicious unfortunately there was very little to give an accurate opinion. I think it was under 2 oz. I may have to return to try something more substantial

We’ve been super excited to come try Daynes and check off another location on our passport. The experience was subpar at best. From the cashier down to the food. The cashier/ordering process is very fast food like. “Hi, for here or to go?” “Okay what can I get you. What else? What else? Is that all? Okay total is ___” Then the food comes out, it looks amazing!!! I got almost through my burger before finding a blonde hair stuck in the melted cheese….and for reference I have very thick black hair..I go to inform the staff, and he did offer to remake it but I was already at the end, there’s no way I would have finished another burger. But the attitude seemed as if I was bothering them, and the apology seemed very dismissive. The Frito pie beans were actually amazing!! The burger was truly great as well, until the hair. The Mac & cheese was okay, a little on the dry sticky side. The breadcrumb topping was a nice enhancement. Brisket also was a little dry in comparison to others we’ve visited on the TM top 50. My husband says the loaded potato was very good, but the brisket portion on it wasn’t proportionate to the amount of potato. I’m glad we checked off another location but I don’t think it was #7 worthy unfortunately..

Phenomenal! Stopped in while I was in the area and I must say…everything was beyond excellent. They definitely earned the “Craft” in their name at this BBQ gem. From the prime brisket to the potato salad to the slaw and then to top it off with the Banana Bourbon Delight…wow! Makes you want to slap your pappy😜

Went here after a rainy day in Ft. Worth. The line wasn't long, and I was able to place my order quickly. I ordered the Trinity platter, and asked for lean and moist brisket. The moist brisket was good, but it had not even a hint of smoke, and tasted more like a pot roast. The lean was good, had a hint of smoke, but was pretty salty by my standards. The ribs were cooked perfectly, had good flavor and were tasty. Thank God they didn't have a sweet flavor to them. The jalapeno havarti sausage was the absolute star of the meats !! Great flavor, great taste, excellent balance of heat, and the cheese was perfect. The Frito pie beans are absolutely delicious. I wish I had gotten another order. These are a definite side they I'll come back for. The Mac and cheese was good, nothing special.... Just, you know....it's mac and cheese. The yellow sauce isn't my cup of tea, but the original sauce is pretty banging. Overall, it has a good atmosphere, and prices are what you'd expect for craft bbq. I'll come back again, but probably skip the brisket. Definitely get the sausage and ribs again, and try the pulled pork and different sides. My meal cost me $52, and that was without tip.

My husband and I went to Dayne’s today and had a great experience! There was plenty of parking, we arrived at 10:15 and were able to order around 10:45 when they opened at 10:30 so not a super long wait! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! The place was also incredibly clean. The burger was A++ best thing on the menu!! It was fantastic. The brisket has a great flavor as well. The ribs were a little too fall off the bone, but the flavor was excellent. We enjoyed both the mac and cheese and the flaming hot street corn. Overall we loved it and would definitely be back!!

Oh boy, was Dayne's a treat for the soul & senses. Brisket that falls apart on your fork, perfect smoke ring, absolutely delicious. Smoked Havarti Jalapeno Sausage...damn lucky we got there before it sold out... incredible. We tried every side except the Mac & Cheese and everything was top drawer, especially the potato salad. Simone and her crew have captured Texas on a plate, while the service from everyone was like your favorite Aunt spoiling you at a Sunday get-together. Get there early, know the lines to get in are well worth the wait, and look forward to your next visit to Dayne's Craft Barbecue.

The first thing I did today after I landed in Dallas from Phoenix was head here and it was absolutely amazing! The food, the staff, the ambience… everything and the experience was 10/10. I ordered way too much food but I had to try it all, especially the sausage. I learned about this place from a Meat Church YouTube video when I was looking up how to make my own sausages. I made and smoked the Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage Dayne created in the Meat Church video and it was one of the best sausages I’ve ever made. I knew his restaurant was one of the first places I had to go to and it was worth every penny I spent to fly down from Phoenix. Anyway, let’s talk about the food! The pork spareribs were absolutely delicious and the biggest surprise for me. The seasonings, the bark and the glaze is some of the best I’ve ever had. I just ate the ribs as is and my gosh it was so good! I didn’t have to add any bbq sauces. It was another level of delicious. The brisket! I had a piece of lean and fatty brisket and it was easily one of the best briskets I’ve ever eaten. I wish I made a video of myself eating the brisket because that brisket made me say, “Oh my god this is so freakin good.” The fatty brisket melts in your mouth and the lean brisket’s tenderness was so delightful to eat. The seasonings and bark on the brisket were perfect. I shredded half the lean and put it on one of the pieces of bread to make a delicious sandwich. I would come here alone for just the brisket! The jalapeño havarti sausage was the one I was looking forward to the most. When I make sausages, there’s this texture you know when you finally cooked it perfectly and didn’t mess something up like overcooking it. Well, their jalapeño havarti sausage I had was cooked perfectly and tasted SO GOOD! The cheese, the jalapeño, the flavor and the smokiness were flawless. This was easily the best sausage I’ve ever had and I wish I could’ve tried some of the other ones there too. The beef short ribs were available and I knew I had to get it. The short ribs were everything I expected and better. It was so tender, juicy, and flavorful. The meat came right off the bone and like everything else, it was seasoned and cooked perfectly! I really loved taking a bite out of the bark and meat because it was just heavenly to eat. My two sides, the mac n cheese and loaded red potato salad were both incredible. That panko topping on the already tasty mac n cheese was a perfect addition. I’m not sure what else was in the red potato salad but sheesh that was so good. The lady at the cash register, I think her name is Freya was very kind. I bought a shirt before leaving and she told me they could do a pit tour but the person there was not there today. Maybe the next time I’m back from out of town, I can come for a pit tour. My visit was well worth it and the food is by far, some of the best BBQ I’ve ever eaten. 10/10 experience and I hope to come back to try more of the menu. Their pitmasters do an amazing job 👍

Yelp
So it's GREAT that they open early BUT, they don't start their Q til 1030. So that was kind of a bummer. Since that was the case...kinda glad I was a little behind on getting there. Got there about 920a, thought guess I'll wait, maybe get to go, eat on road and while waiting in line for Goldee's. Ended up ordering the brisket burrito, good breakfast burrito, but wasn't what I was there for. I ended up eating the burrito and waiting til 1030 for them to start the lunch Q. Brisket shreds easily and has a good smoke to it and a good smoke ring like Q is supposed to. Ribs by itself are D-licious!!! Good evenly spread rub, fall off the bone meat. The apple coleslaw is amazing..super refreshing...I like the apple in it. Best coleslaw so far..almost same as KFC, and sorry to say that's my fav, so if you like KFC, you'll like theirs. Potato salad is good.. The people here are super friendly and seems like almost all Q spots are the friendliest...need to pass that love to other retailers

Yelp
The Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ List takes you to places you can't even pronounce, and while on a trek to Dallas, I made an intentional stop in Aledo, Texas, to try Dayne's Craft Barbecue. This was my first trek to Dallas since May, and since I was locked in on my Texas Monthly passport, I knew I had to stop at one of the heavy hitters before attending a wedding with my girlfriend. Outside, Dayne's has plenty of space, with grass lots available if worse came to worst. For arriving at 11:40 am, there was still plenty of parking. There was a train track right next door, so if you're coming from I-20, be warned of the tracks. There was a small line, which is expected for a top 10 BBQ joint on a Friday. There was only one cashier, probably to help filter the people eating and the people waiting to get their food because it was pretty filled inside. The cashier was extremely welcoming and helped us decide what sausage link to get, with this week's black pepper brat special being an easy pick for him. Having been driving from Austin on an empty stomach, I was pretty hungry, but all things considered, it only took about 30 minutes from getting in line to getting my food. It's pretty efficient, and we immediately got a table after ordering. Yes The server was even more welcoming than the cashier as he brought us our food. He explained everything about the restaurant, from their traditional red BBQ sauce to their special Carolina gold sauce that had a Texas twist to it. Everything looked incredible on the tray, and I'll share my thoughts on everything. Brisket: I ordered a fatty piece of their brisket, and it was heavenly. The Carolina gold sauce definitely added extra flavor, but the brisket was already super flavorful and almost melted in my mouth. Black Pepper Brat: Their weekly special brat for 10/3 was easily one of the best sausages I've had on this journey so far. It was almost Cajun-like with its pepper base, but the sausage itself was super flavorful and juicy. I'm the most impressed by this. Pork Ribs: Not my favorite ribs from this journey, but they fall off the bone and are very well seasoned. They were a little too smoky for my liking, but my girlfriend seemed to really enjoy them. Apple Slaw: I've had many slaws in my life but have never been huge on it until I had Dayne's apple slaw. It's the right mix of crispness from cabbage to the juiciness of an apple. I'm super pleased with this. Frito Pie Beans: These beans were compact. Some beans can be a little juicy, but these Frito Pie beans topped with Fritos, crema, and jalapeños were so incredible and were destroyed by the two of us. Flamin' Hot Street Corn: This is the second BBQ joint I've been to that added Flamin' Hot Cheeto dust to a side, and I can say that it pairs better with this corn than with macaroni. I demolished it on my own with no help from my girlfriend. I hope she was okay with the one bite she had. My fault. Dayne's is one of those barbecue restaurants that feel integral to the city. Though tourists like myself might come through for their stamps and to try a high-ranking joint, the typical patrons are Aledo residents eating at their hometown BBQ joint, and the love that Dayne and company put into this makes me jealous of the almost 6.7k residents who can swing by almost any day of the week. I sent a picture of my tray to my dad, and his response shows how lucky I am to be at Dayne's: "You suck and I hate you." RIYL: Visiting cities you would never visit otherwise

Yelp
Okay...I'll start by saying the food was good, not great, but the experience was horrible. Their website, google and every other website showed they opened at 7am. We tried to find out more information; what time to show up, is it full menu or select items, how long is the line at 8am, etc. We showed up around 7:45 on a Saturday. 1 person in front of us, we think we hit the jackpot. Get to the order station and my wife asks if everything on the chalkboard was gone, the cashier stated, "no, that's our list from yesterday." we also learned that at 7:45am on a Saturday that they only have BBQ Tacos and Burritos...the full menu was not available until later. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN GOOD TO PUT ON YOUR FRICKIN' WEBSITE!!! the website didn't even show tacos or burritos as an option. we were upset but decided to at least try a couple tacos, ordered a brisket taco, sausage taco and a barbacoa taco. the cashier stated they're out of barbacoa...yet it WASN'T on the chalkboard, but items from the previous day were. DO BETTER. food came, the brisket was good, cheese was cold and not melted at all. the tortilla was the worst tortilla in the history of soft tacos. it seemed like it was meant to be a fresh flour tortilla but cooked about 25% of the way. it was tough and doughy, NOT SOFT & FLUFFY. the sausage taco was a disappointment. it wasn't BBQ sausage links chopped up, it was breakfast sausage...NOWHERE did any sign mention this. I'm ordering a sausage taco at a bbq place and get breakfast sausage, not linked sausage...just be aware of you want to try the sausage taco. overall, bad experience...but the food wasn't horrible. we want to come back when they have a full menu and hope they make the additions to the menu about breakfast only before 11am and that the sausage taco is breakfast sausage, not link sausage.

Yelp
Best: OG Burger and the side of broccoli and grape salad. Can skip: bacon brisket They open early! When we arrived around 10:30 AM on a Saturday, there were no parking spots along the entire first row (there are other parking spaces farther away). The line was only a few people out of the door, so we were inside ~10 minute after arriving but it took about 35 minutes in the inside line before we were able to order. The surprising part was that it took an additional 25 minutes before our food was finally ready (total time waited = 60 minutes). There were no seats inside after we ordered, but people were sitting down waiting on food. Even though they have devices on the tables to keep away flies, there are still lots of flies landing all over your tray of food. They have all the typical meats and sides along with a few fun choices. The fried bologna melt was a fun one, but ultimately not that interesting. The OG burger is a must. The sides were decent. The meat was good. The brisket is pretty salty. The bacon brisket is basically all fat. The pork ribs were very good. The pulled pork was some of the best pulled pork I've had. The turkey was lovely (and made such good turkey leftovers to eat as a cold cut the next day). Overall, good food if you're willing to wait in line and at the table an hour and drive outside of the city to Aledo.

Yelp
Great food. Super delicious meats cooked to perfection. Our favorite is brisket and pulled pork but have tried the rest and it's all great. Sides are very imaginative spin on many favorites. We love the beans and spicy corn but also head turn at the Cole slaw with crisp apples! It's order first then sweet people bring your food on trays. Simple wonderful family fine place for Sunday brunch

Yelp
In Arlington for a concert with my teen daughter, I knew I had to get some stamps on my Texas Monthly BBQ passport. Aledo was not too far east, so I planned that as our stop after commuting from Houston. My daughter seemed apprehensive claiming she really wasn't a huge fan of bbq. And as we came in, we saw that pork belly lumpia was a special but now unavailable. She asked me to order. So I did. A smoked bologna melt. Brisket. Broccoli and grape salad. Hot Cheetos street corn. And a cocktail from their convenient and cozy bar. From the moment she took her first bite of the bologna melt, Dayne's made my daughter a believer. She loved everything!!! She said it was worth drive and wanted to come back again. Dayne's, thank you for a terrific experience. She was right. Absolutely worth the drive.

Yelp
Barbecue Glory = Dayne's. Today's lunch search led us to Aledo, 20-30min SW of Fort Worth. How did we just find it?! You wait in a quick line to order, fill your tea/soda (or grab a beer/cocktail from the tiny bar), find a table, & your food is brought to you by the nicest staff. Meats by 1/4lb (brisket, turkey, bologna, brats, etc.), burgers, Q sandwiches... so much AND all so good. Sides are modern takes on slaw, potato salad, street corn, but the mac n cheese is something religious!!!!! Definitely worth a visit, but arrive hungry ;-)

Yelp
People are super nice and the food was great. It was my first time, coworker suggested the fried bologna melt. You've got to try it! You won't be disappointed the guy delivering the food was super nice, brought a smile to our face.

Yelp
A friend and his son were driving across country to move from CA to VA and wanted to come visit us because we hadn't seen them since my husband and I moved to TX two years ago. Our friend hadn't been to TX before either so we thought we could make his short stay as Texan as possible so we took them to the #7 ranked BBQ according to Texas magazine -- Dayne's Craft BBQ. We got there a little after opening on a Sunday. There was a line, but it wasn't going out of the door. My friend's son was hoping for breakfast burritos, but they weren't serving any that day. So we ordered a Trinity Platter which consisted of 1/2 lb brisket, ribs, and 1 sausage link and 2 small sides (we chose Mac & cheese and the Fritos pie beans) We ordered an extra 1/2 lb of brisket and 1/2 lb of pulled pork. Then we searched for a table. Thankfully there were some tables outside under the covered patio, underneath an electric fan. It was hot, but not too hot (for TX). For our visitors, it was quite hot because they were coming from San Diego. Anyway, the food got there and it was absolutely beautiful, but also very delicious. I especially loved the sausage. It was their sausage of the week, a mix of berry and gouda. The combination of the sweet and savory and cheesy was a flavor explosion. I actually still think about it and it's almost a week later. As a Filipino, I love that their Friday special is smoked pork belly lumpia. I have yet to try that. Overall, wonderful food, great service. The lady in the front was so sweet to my friend's son. Would definitely come back! I can definitely see why they made it in the top ten best bbq in the great state of Texas!
google avatar

Kristine B.

Yelp
This was some of the best brisket we've had! Highly recommend! I had the beans Fritos pie and it was really good too!
google avatar

Yelp
Shut the front door!!! Texas Monthly got it wrong. Way wrong. I mean #7 top spot in the state is pretty good. Glad to see they got some recognition. But it's #1 in my book. Sliced Brisket and Pork Ribs? Enough said. Congrats Ashley and Dayne and entire team. Just one suggestion. Can you please make an area just for us locals to enjoy your food and not battle with half the world to eat here? Good problem to have!

Yelp
Great ambiance, food and service. We're so lucky to have them in Aledo. Their Barbecue is delicious and their sides are great.

Yelp
Best frito pie I've ever had. The line is long but worth it. The server was super awesome. He came and sat down next to our table and described everything.

Yelp
Wow - another great meal from Dayne's! We had to be in the area for an appointment and while we've had some of the food from Dayne's, my wife had never been "to" Dayne's. So today was the day. We arrive at about 11:45 on a Wednesday. The lot was nearly full and there was a decent line inside. As we got to the front door, Dayne and Ashley were sitting on a waiting bench outside on the front porch. Some entity was there taking their picture and later interviewing them and their staff. We got in line. It took about 10 minutes to make it to the ordering register. We ordered: - The Trinity Platter (with Mac and Cheese and Broccoli Grape Salad as sides) - Bourbon Banana Pudding dessert x 2 (to go) The food took about 10 minutes to prepare and was brought to our table. The server just followed the sound of the beep from the pager and called out my name. The food was great. - Pork Ribs: We especially enjoyed the pork ribs. So tender and flavorful. - Brisket: The brisket was equally good. - Sausage Link: I wasn't sure which of the 3 sausage choices to order as my wife had left the line to get seating, so I went the safe route and got the Texas Beef sausage. I really wanted the Havarti / Jalepno. Oh well - next time. The sausage was good. Definitely had a beefy flavor to it. - Mac and Cheese: Really nice Mac and Cheese. - Broccoli and Grape Salad: This was good, but surprising. Everything but the grapes are finely chopped, as in food processes chopped. Then the grapes were halved and folded in. Tasty - just different. - Bourbon Banana Pudding: Haven't eaten it yet as it's for dessert tonight. Next time, we'll likely get the Trinity Platter again and get the Frito Beans and Potato Salad as our sides and probably the Havarti Jalapeno sausage or similar, depending on what's on the menu that day.

Yelp
The best BBQ hands down!!! We got the biggest plate for the 4 of us and left with lots of leftovers. There were 2 kinds of sausages. That was my least favorite of everything I ate. The brisket had a good bark on it as well as a ring. The flavor was great. The meat was moist. The cuts were good. The smoked turkey was moist. Had a good smoke flavor and it was plenty. The ribs were amazing. I don't know what they did but they were amazing. Did I say the ribs were amazing because they were amazing. The pulled pork had good flavor and moist. The sides were great. We had them all! I never had beans with Fritos but it worked! Broccoli salad with grapes were nice refreshing side. Mac n cheese was very cheesy. Red potato salad, good. Corn with hot Cheetos crushed on top had a nice kick. Apple coleslaw was great. We did have to wait about 45 minutes but there was a nice breeze.

Yelp
Dayne's Craft BBQ It's my birthday so I said let's go try this place we saw on TikTok. Dayne's is about an hour from where we live but that's normal for us as we make that drive to our regular BBQ spots. We ordered the Trinity Platter. It comes with a 1/2 pound of brisket, ribs, and sausage. We also added another 1/2 pound of lean brisket and the jalapeño sausage. Atmosphere was small town country store with a seating area inside and out. Service was fast and customer service was friendly. The Brisket Definitely get the fatty or moist. More flavor and juicy. The lean, was a little dry but still tender. Definitely used sauced on the lean but fatty is where it's at. The Sausage Sausage was the awesome. Probably the best on the platter. Seasoned well. The jalapeño havarti sausage was on point. Really good. The Ribs They were ok but just didn't do it for me. Not enough seasoning. Didn't really get the smoke I'm use too nor the sweet glaze finish. Felt they were over cooked as they didn't hold up to the bite test. The Sides The mac n cheese was simple. Add a little black pepper and it reminds you of Luby's mac n cheese with breadcrumbs but it was missing the creaminess. The Frito Pie beans are a must. It's like ranch style beans met bbq beans and brought chili cheese Fritos in for a wild night. The Dessert The Banana Bourbon pudding was good. Makes me want to try the chocolate lasagna pudding. Definitely hit the after meal sweet tooth. Overall, good visit!

Yelp
Get the OG Burger, will change your life!l lol. Do not leave without order 1lb of the BEST BRISKET (FATTY) & a couple of Jalapeño/Havarty links!!!

Yelp
That line allllllmost got me. 45 minutes standing in line, both inside and out, but thankfully we survived it and were lucky enough to grab a booth. Food came quickly as BBQ always thankfully does. We got the Trinity (3 meat w 2 sides), added side of burnt ends and turkey with 2 other sides. This let us enjoy the beans, coleslaw, mac and potato salad. Came out to about $90. Every bite was phenomenal. Seriously best BBQ and sides I have had in a very long time. I'm not sure I will brave that line again anytime soon but glad we did it today.

Yelp
I've been a fan of Dayne's since they were a food truck serving amazing BBQ in Fort Worth. Now I drive over an hour from Anna to Aledo to get my fix! My favorite item on the menu is the OG Burger. Everything about this burger just hits all the right notes on your taste buds. Fresh meat, greasy cheese and all the fixings pressed between a sesame bun make it one of my favorite burgers of all time. And trust when I say I've had my share of burgers across the country. However, you can't go wrong with your traditional BBQ plate either. Their brisket and Beefy Texan sausage are also a must in my household. We also enjoy the beans, sans the frito pie part (picky kid!), Mac n cheese, and their desserts always hit. Overall, you can't go wrong. My kids even love their grilled cheese sandos! If you're in Aledo, I'm jealous you live so close. And if you're not, make the drive. You will thank me later! Pro Tips: Grab a drink (in my case a DP or cold beer!) from the bar in the back to enjoy while you wait if there is a long line. Also, I was told they make OG burgers everyday now and have upped the quantity, so they rarely sell out. ENJOY!

Yelp
TOP TIER BBQ! Highlights: the best banana pudding ever and great meats. The Meats: The pulled pork has a perfectly seasoned rub that allows you to taste the spice and the smoke. Complete with a superior fat to meat ratio, this BBQ is perfectly juicy and bursting with flavor. The brisket bologna was so good. Sides: Mac and cheese is creamy with perfectly crunchy bread crumbs that add a very nice texture. Sauces: The red sauce is a go to for the pulled pork with a nice mild, somewhat sweet flavor. The mustard based sauce had a beautifully complex flavor that is like a Carolina mustard BBQ shaking hands with a German mustard. Dessert: the bourbon banana pudding was the best banana pudding I've ever had. It's a salted caramel drizzle on top with some butterscotch morsels in the middle and thick, creamy pudding on a base layer of Nila wafers. Service: super quick, very friendly cashier, and clean restaurant with outdoor seating. Very worth the drive from Fort Worth or Dallas.

Jessica V.

Yelp
The best BBQ experience we've had. Hands down. Food was incredible, service was friendly and enthusiastic... the perfect place for our family to come together over a table of deliciousness. You can just taste the heart and soul that goes into this food. Standouts among a consistently stellar spread included the brisket, bacon brisket, turkey (who knew?), street corn, and brown butter cheesecake. And don't sleep on the OG burger! We loved every bite. Thanks Dayne's for a wonderful meal!

Yelp
Bad day for Daynes. Nowhere on their website do they mention serving breakfast or that they start serving lunch at 10:30. We drove for over an hour to get here today (Saturday) to be limited to tacos, burritos and fruit kolaches. The tortillas were terrible. Seemed stale or not cooked properly. Very hard to chew through. I had the brisket, which was good, but couldnt get past the soggy egg and tortilla to appreciate it. Had to smother it in bbq sauce...which is a crime. Got here at 8am and they said they were out of barbacoa...so that limited the taco meat options. Also...the sausage taco... it isn't sausage link. It's ground sausage. What??? No onions, pickles or jalapenos were available to put on our brisket. What a disappointment. We ordered 3 tacos and 1 koloache, it was $25. NOT WORTH IT.

Yelp
Behold, fellow carnivores and smoke-chasers: the meaty pilgrimage has officially begun. I kicked off my Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ Tour with a belly brimming with anticipation, a fresh stamp-ready passport in one hand, and a custom t-shirt on my chest that screamed "50 Reasons I'm Not a Vegetarian." Reason #1 now proudly smeared in brisket juice. Destination One: Dayne's Craft Barbecue. From the moment I stepped up to the weathered wood facade of this sacred meat chapel, I could smell the holy trinity of Texas BBQ salvation: brisket, ribs, and sausage. No frills. No fluff. Just smoke signals to your soul. Inside, rustic charm meets BBQ grit. There's a giant metal cow logo looming like the guardian of the goods. A saloon slinging beers and brisket-fueled cocktails. And a mounted beast on the wall rockin' a patriotic top hat like he's Uncle Sam's meat-loving cousin. This place didn't whisper BBQ vibes, it hollered 'em through a megaphone made from mesquite. Simone, my BBQ spirit guide for the day, greeted me with a smile and a stamp. I ordered like I was drafting the All-Smoke Hall of Fame. I sat down, passport stamped, t-shirt inked, stomach growling like a smoker at dawn. Then they delivered the tray. Folks, this wasn't lunch. This was an altar of barbecue devotion. I sampled everything: pure research, of course, before boxing up the rest to bring home and eat lunch with my wife, the Side Dish Sage of our household. The verdict? The brisket was a smoked miracle, tender enough to make a grown man weep into his red butcher paper. The sausage had that jalapeño pop and creamy Havarti melt that made me nod like I'd just heard Willie Nelson sing. Ribs? Fall-off-the-bone like they were late for church. The turkey had a peppery bark and smoky depth that'd win over any dark meat loyalist. Sides? Oh yes. The loaded red potato salad was creamy with a crispy kick. The flamin' hot street corn was truly flamin', like Fourth-of-July-fireworks-in-your-mouth hot. The crisp apple slaw was a crunchy, tart palate cleanser. The broccoli grape salad was sweet, nutty, and fancy enough to wear boots and a bow tie. And dessert? You know I didn't leave that rodeo unwrangled. My wife called dibs on the banana pudding faster than I could say, 'Wait, that was for sharing!' I didn't argue. As for the Funky Monkey, I don't know who named it, but I'd give that monkey a medal. This meal had no weak link. Not even close. Before I left, I snuck a peek through the window where the magic happens. The staff put in a call and introduced me to Alex, the pitmaster himself, in his smoky domain. With pride, he gave me a behind-the-scenes tour of the pit room, a wonderland of iron, fire, and flavor. Those pits? They're not machines. They're instruments, and Alex is playing symphonies in smoke. TL;DR: Brisket tender enough to make a grown man cry. Sausage that kicks like a jalapeño roundhouse. Sides that could run for office. Dayne's isn't a BBQ stop--it's a BBQ destination. And with my t-shirt now stamped and stained, I'm one bite closer to smoked meat immortality. BBQ Passport Stamp #1: Complete. 49 more to go. Pray for my belt.

Yelp
Had a chance to visit this establishment on a Sunday afternoon after church. There was a line and we waited for probably 15 minutes outside and weaved our way inside. The food was great, and there are seating inside and outside. I will have to say that I really enjoyed the mac and cheese, oh the mac and cheese. Highly recommend it. There's even a bar, separated from the the registers up front, So if you're into getting a beer or some liquor, there's a place for that. Unfortunately on Sundays they didn't have the brisket sandwich, which is a local favorite, so we will definitely have to be back on another day to sample that delicacy Would I recommend this place? Absolutely, without a doubt. There's plenty of parking outside. You might have to walk a little bit, but don't be discouraged. You see a line, coming out the door, it is common and they try to move the line pretty quickly. Quickly. The only challenge you might have is finding a table. But don't be discouraged, patrons move in and out of there quickly. The cool thing is that if you want to take some of it home they do have a frozen versions of their food up front, so that way you could take it back with you. Looking forward to going back

Yelp
Food was delish! The place is super cute, my favorite was the flaming hot corn!!! They sold out of ribs so we had pulled pork instead but it was very good!

Yelp
The location was cool the food was really good not my favorite of all the bbq places I've been. (Snow, interstellar, Goldie's, pecan lodge, meat anywhere, saltlick, terry black) all around but the bacon brisket was unique to find here and the taste was spectacular. They have a great menu and I liked the ambiance of the restaurant. Service was great very friendly. Didn't try the burger, but was told that's what they do best. Next time. Great spot with good bbq for sure.

Yelp
Our fun bbq trail commences! This spot made Texas Monthly BBQ so had to check them out before the masses came out. Our crew of 9 got there an hour and half before open, and we were the only ones there. So no need to get there early, seemed like the crowd showed up about 20 minutes before open FYI. We loved the grassy, open area so the kiddos can run around, and lots of shaded area when the sun came out. So being the first ones there, we ended up being around 10th in line because everybody parked and went straight for that door. No qualms at all, line went quickly! Do know if you're going to dine in, seated is extremely limited, I'm talking 6 tables indoors. There is minimal patio seating as well. Plenty of space on the grass and can do picnic style!! Okay onto the meats!! Brisket was juicy and tender, the ribs were top notch, the bologna was just...everything. I'm a beef rib lady so always gotta try one, and I've yet to meet one that wasn't worth the price. It was perfect!! My friends enjoyed the Turkey and my son loved the OG burger. It was smashed and greasy with all the crispy bits. The sides are what definitely sets the place apart. The eloté corn is fire, apple coleslaw is refreshing, but everybody raved over the frito pies. I only got a small bite before it was demolished!! This place is definitely a gem with decent prices and amazing 'cue!!

Yelp
Dayne's is the kind of place that ruins other BBQ for you, because once you've had their brisket and ribs, everything else tastes like a sad backyard cookout. The brisket had the perfect bark and smoke ring, ribs were tender without being mushy, and the sausage had legit snap. Sides are creative without trying too hard, and everything feels crafted with care. Service was friendly and quick even though they were busy, and the whole vibe is relaxed but buzzing with BBQ energy. Easily one of the top spots around

Yelp
Look I'm not going to say anything that hasn't been said a million times. This place is phenomenal food. Walked in on a Saturday and the place was packed. Even with all the people there we managed to get service quickly with a smile and had a very little wait on the food. We still managed to get a nice down home feel to the place. The brisket is hands down the best brisket in the DFW area. It had great pull and amazing flavor. The ribs were incredibly good too and meat almost fell off the bone. The Apple Slaw and the Mac and Cheese were so good and made a great balance of the meat. The OG Burger was a good burger for a smash burger (I'm not a fan of smash burgers but objectively this was good). The dessert was a banana pudding and pretty much a chocolate pudding also. Both were solid.

Yelp
Dayne's BBQ is absolutely delicious and the servers are extremely friendly and welcoming however there are some things that are very frustrating. Their prices are absolutely ridiculous for the amount of food you get. My wife and I went and got a 1/2 lb of brisket and a small side of mac and cheese with no drinks and ended up paying close to 40 dollars. On top of that the roughly 40% of the brisket ended up just being fat and there were just two slices of briskest..... It was incredibly frustrating because the food is absolutely delicious and the staff and atmosphere are great but management should really rethink their prices and plate sizes. Sadly I don't think we'll go back because we end up spending a fortune for no food and always leave hungry.

Yelp
This was my first trip to Aledo since they moved out of Fort Worth! I picked the perfect day and time. It was Wednesday around 1:30! I ordered as soon as I walked in and got prepared for my meal! I ordered the OG Burger, probably the best in DFW !! Top 3 for sure! I got the Bean Frito Pie for a side . The burger was juicy and delicious and I finished all of the beans as well. I washed it down with a Topo-Chico but they have plenty of other beverage options including beer and cocktails! They also now serve breakfast which is awesome including in-house bacon Get to Dayne's ASAP

Yelp
Was in Aldeo for business and my buddy wanted to grad some barbecue for lunch and said he knew of a place. Food was spot on and the meats were tender and juicy. My fave was the turkey breast and jalapeño sausage link. And the Mac n Cheese was spot on. The waitstaff makes you feel welcome and they are very friendly. They take the time to ask if you are a first timer and if so they will explain the lay of the land so you know where everything is at to enjoy your meal. This place has that good ole local vibe which sets the perfect vibe while enjoying your meal.

Yelp
The quality of the food is ok. Not as I expected with all the ravings but ok. The price is very expensive to a point you get nickel and dimed to death. My togo order did not even include sauce! What gives? Where is the service? If you want ok expensive BBq come here so long as you understand service is very lacking.

Yelp
OMG! The moment I walked in, TANTALIZING smells wafted to my nose and watered my taste buds! The customer service lifted me off the floor and to my seat, where I enjoyed the best brisket sandwich of my life. It was a spiritual experience. The flamin' hot street corn was SO DARN GOOD that I 'bout fell asleep from overeating. Seriously, folks-- this place is now a landmark in my world. I see why people are moving to Aledo. Slay.

Yelp
Great service! The food was absolutely amazing, especially the egg rolls, which are only available on Fridays, I believe. Our family absolutely loved this place and will 100% be coming back!

Yelp
Okay Funky Town, here we go again! With so much 5 STAR BBQ people are starting to pay attention... I know, technically Aledo is Ft. Worth with a drive, but here's another killer BBQ joint with a great patio, and great bar! As I have said before, it seems the local ruling these days are burnt ends. Can you do them, are they good, and can they get you into the conversation of some of the more "famous" burnt ends in the area. The crown has now been passed. It took a specialty, but when as they say, "When you got it, you got it!". Prepare thyself for the following words: Blueberry Lemon Burnt Ends. They are better than you can imagine. All the flavor comes through... the lemon gives a great drop of acid against the sweet blueberry. There's a reason it's the most popular lemonade ever... and they made it BBQ. Not some stupid version of a sugary sauce over bad burnt ends... but utter perfection! But the hit the highlight list, they have to pass the trinity, and it goes like this: Brisket--Killer and moist, one of the best smoke rings I have seen, and NO liquid smoke to be found! Winner Sausage--they were out. I substituted the bologna. Simply the best I have ever put in my mouth. I don't know what they are doing here, but they are after some crowns! Ribs- perfect. Sauce: this is the bonus round. If I HAVE to go for it, you lose a point. If I want to... well, that's on me! When the bartender recommends you go for the Yellow Sauce, with the Bologna on the Potato Bread, you don't ask questions. The sauce isn't my favorite, and has a spice I couldn't pin down... but the BBQ was so good without it, it didn't matter! My head bows to the new king in town! 5 Stars for crushing it... and being some of the best in TEXAS!!

Yelp
After driving an hour we had really high hopes! We sprang for the Trinity Plater and chose the mix of fatty and trimmed sliced brisket, we also chose the havarti sausage. The platter came with your choice of two sides, sadly almost every single side was sold out at 3pm on a Saturday. There were three sides left, we went for the broccoli grape salad and the flamin' hot street corn. We also ordered the bologna melt and bacon brisket. We did ask a few questions before ordering and let's just say customer service could be improved a lot. Definitely not the friendly service you receive in the Dallas area bbq restaurants. The employee begrudgingly answered questions and was very short with us. Nearing the end of the conversation she asked if we would like to try a sample, I'm not sure if she realized how she was coming off or maybe being short is just her personality. Now to the food, the meat was good. Two out of four people in our party liked the havarti sausage, the cheese had a very strong flavor. The ribs fell off the bone. Our brisket was very fatty but had good flavor. The bologna melt was super heavy on the mustard and it took over the sandwich. Everyone in the group liked the bacon brisket. Now for the sides, the broccoli grape salad had one grape, no dressing just a dish of raw broccoli. The flamin' hot street corn was spicy. The heat was the only flavor you could taste and it wasn't the flamin' hot crumble on top. It could be because it was the end of the pan. As soon as we received our order they ran out of street corn. The meat is good but you need great sides and enough of them that you can provide service for an entire day.

Yelp
Meh on this place. Note NO burgers on Sunday. The brisket was mid. The blueberry sausage was good, but the casing was difficult to bite through. I did LOVE the beans. The corn was okay. Does any place in Texas use fresh corn off the cob, or is it all canned corn? By 12:30 on a Sunday, the only dessert was chocolate lasagna which we did not order. Also the "bologna coming soon" sign has been up for months. Get on it, or take it off the menu.

Yelp
A+++++++ We have been there a few times and 5 Stars each time!! The Burger maybe close to the best Burger I've had.

Yelp
Dayne's was our 100th 'cue stop in Texas, and the 400th nationwide. It is one of the current Texas Monthly Magazine top 50, but we would rank it in the top 30. BBQ fanatics should consider this a must stop. We started with the Texas Trinity, with turkey as a fourth offering. We piled on the sides-- frito beans, apple slaw, mac 'n cheese and street corn. And somehow, we saved room for banana bourbon pudding. The whole, including tip, came to $82.80. (service was really friendly). The buttery smooth fatty brisket featured a classic central Texas rub that yielded good bark and a great pink ring. The jalapeno havarti sausage was tilted strongly to the peppery side, which is just the way we like it, while the turkey proved moist, with a buttery texture. In turn the ribs were beautifully done, separating cleanly at the bite but with an understated rub that allowed the flavor of the meat to shine through. The slaw, street corn and frito beans made for terrific sides, but the mac 'n cheese lacked that special something that would put it over the top. As for the banana bourbon pudding ... it could have used more bourbon!

Yelp
Food was to die for!!! No need for knives here! Meat was so tender and seasoned to perfection! And the employees were top notch! If I could eat here everyday I absolutely would!!!

Yelp
So, I've been seeing posts with Dayne's OG burger all over FB the past few months, and every time I see it, I start drooling. I just HAD to try this burger! Imagine my surprise when hubby called me up after getting his car services last Saturday morning asking if I "wanted to try that place out in Aledo". I thought he'd never ask! We arrived around 11am so there was already a short line out the door. We aren't typically people who wait around in a line to dine somewhere, but we did make an exception here. The line, while it didn't seem all that long, still took us about 40 minutes to get through. Which isn't bad in todays BBQ line standards. Plus, I was able to grab a few beers from the bar in the back to sip on while waiting. Once we ordered though, our food came out in record speed. I would say less than 10 minutes. So they are cooking it up and cranking it out fast! We both ordered the OG burger with sides of street corn, loaded potato salad, and the banana bourbon delight. My first bite into the burger had my eyes rolled back in my head. SO GOOOOOODDD!! It's very simple with 2 smash patties, cheese, red onion, and special sauce. It was probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. It makes me very happy I don't live in Aledo as Dayne would get all my money. The potato salad was also very good and our 2nd favorite item tied with the banana bourbon dessert. The salted caramel drizzle really sets this dessert apart. My least favorite was the corn, but could be that I'm biased as the one I make at home is in a league of it's own ;) We also bought some cold brisket and sausage to go. You can get these at a discount! The brisket was good reheated, one of the pieces was a little dry, but the rest were juicy and flavorful. I didn't get to try the sausage as my hubby ate it all. I think when we go back, I will stick with the burger and the meats....and maybe a few of those delights!

Yelp
Visited Dayne's today for the first time since the outfit left Lola's. I'm very happy to report that the brisket is every bit as good as when I last enjoyed it. I ordered a sandwich with brisket sliced from the point and it was absolutely everything I am looking for in a properly cooked smoked brisket. Perfect smoke; a crusty, flavorful bark; silky; moist; and pull-apart tender, with fully rendered fat. I'd love to see this on a nice brioche bun but the seeded hamburger bun is serviceable. FYI, I could find no mention here on Yelp or on the restaurant's website about alcohol so I took beer just in case. But the restaurant does serve beer and a limited selection of cocktails as you can see from my pic. I think six bucks for a 12oz can of a non-premium beer is rather steep, but I rolled with it as for me beer is de rigueur with BBQ. My friend and I arrived at 11:15 on a Saturday and the inside line wound around back to the door. When we left around 12:30 the line extended well out the door into the parking lot. There were a LOT of people. The line does not move particularly fast but if you like, one of your party can go to the bar and get drinks to enjoy while you wait in line. There appears to be plenty of parking and seating both inside and outside, with an area out back where I think kids can play. This old building makes for quite a respectable BBQ dive venue. I wish this restaurant, and every BBQ restaurant cut and prepared your meats in front of you as you order, but I know facility limitations and other considerations often mitigate against this. And after all what is most important is what is going on in the smokers and here Dayne, in moving to brick and mortar, has maintained his commitment to cooking in offset stick pits. Thus his BBQ continues to be True Cue. Real craft BBQ, unlike some other operations. Take the True Cue Pledge: http://www.truecue.org/the-pledge

Yelp
This is Texas BBQ at its BEST! I'm quite lucky to live close and hope they never EVER leave Aledo. The OG burger is simple yet the most delicious burger you have ever had. I hope you can get in early enough to snag one. Burgers for breakfast have never been a bad idea. The potato salad is yummy. But this review is about the breakfast! My coworkers and I are obsessed with the new breakfast burritos and fruit koloches they have only on Friday mornings. The key lime is chef kiss!

Yelp
MAN THIS PLACE IS GOOD. I've wanted to come here for a long time but never could align with the hours for some reason. It is worth the hype period! Their barbecue sauce is fire too. It's a cute place out here in Aledo. I'm sure it's much better than the previous setup although I never could make it in there too. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
Field trip to Dayne's Craft Barbecue in Aledo. Great location adjacent to the railroad tracks - just a short drive from Fort Worth west off loop 820. I had all beef bologna, beef brats, apple pie pork-belly and of course brisket - all wonderful The beef bologna was fantastic and now I want try to make some. Sides were also wonderful! Had a great time chatting about everything bbq and even met some of Dayne's regulars. What a wonderful business he has bustling and busy. It makes me very happy when I notice the familiar buzzing of a business focused on customer experience and doing an excellent job. I will be a new out of town regular at Dayne's BBQ. Thank you Dayne for the hospitality and friendly staff.

Yelp
I've been following this place online for a few years, they started out as a food truck in Fort Worth and recently opened a restaurant in Aledo. The pictures of the food always looks so amazing, and after tasting, it does not disappoint! We got 1/2 lb brisket, 1/2 lb pork ribs, 3 sausage links (all different flavors), large mac n cheese, large street corn, small loaded potato salad, and two desserts-banana pudding and cookie butter-something? It was about $120 with tip, which is more than we typically spend but seems pretty average for a trendy BBQ place these days. On the plus side, we were all full :) The brisket was so good! Flavor was great, very moist, no sauce needed. Same with the pork ribs! We loved the jalapeno havarti sausage, but it had a kick! The sides- mac and cheese and street corn were both great and we were glad we went with larges! The potato salad was just okay-nothing special and seemed dry. Desserts - banana pudding was just okay, and the cookie butter one was very good. We would go back! 4/5 overall

Yelp
THE BEST TEXAS BQQ in my opinion!! I have tried so many BBQ places, and nothing has beat Dayne's BBQ. Their meat is so moist and tender, unlike most places. They sell out really quickly so make sure to get their early!
