A great value deal! Burritos are MASSIVE and such a great price. We brought ours to the beach for a picnic and would highly recommend. Super flavorful food for a great price. Would absolutely come back next time we’re on Kauai

Google
I’m from Houston Texas so my Mexican food standards are high, but this place had good rating so I decided to try it. I got the carne asada and the shrimp. Shrimp was good, not the carne asada and I only got sour cream and grilled veggies on the tacos. They LOADED it with sour cream like it was a sour cream taco with meat added to it (you can’t see in picture because it was all sagging at the bottom). It ruined it and they had like 5 little veggies.

Google
Absolutely loved the fish burrito and my spouse ordered the fish tacos. Cooked to perfection and it there was so much food that came with every portion. Can’t wait to come back and try the shrimp tacos or carne asada!! Highly recommend. (No seating to go only)

Google
East coasters here so the bar is kinda low, but we thought the food was good. This place is tiny & busy and the parking lot is a mess, so don't expect much of a vibe. The service was friendly and efficient and we enjoyed our food on our deck instead. Thanks!

Da Crack in Poipu is the kind of spot you’ll be dreaming about long after you’ve left the island. 🏝️ Their shrimp bowl 🍤 was absolutely loaded—bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors, perfectly cooked shrimp, and just the right ratio of rice, beans, and toppings. Quick service ⚡ and generous portions seal the deal. 🐟 A standout on the menu? The fish bowl featuring the catch of the day—grilled to tender perfection. It’s fresh, local, and tastes like a bite of the ocean 🌊. Paired with your choice of sides, it's clean, satisfying, and seriously ono. 🤙 💳 Just a heads-up: there’s a nearly 4% surcharge for using a credit card. Not a deal-breaker, but good to know—cash 💵 will save you a few extra cents (and surprises). Whether you're a carnivore 🥩, pescatarian 🐠, or plant-based 🌱 foodie, Da Crack delivers casual island eats that totally hit the spot. I’ll be back—with more cash and an even bigger appetite. 😋🌺

Google
Overall the crack is delicious Mexican food in kauai. Fish tacos are where it's at. Love the addition of fajitas peppers and onions to their menu. I had both the fish tacos and a carne asada burrito both were delicious. I highly recommend you load them with everything to make them extra good!! Pro tip it's a walk-up only window no seating so take it to go.

Google
Great Mexican take-away with just a few minor slips Delicious food! This small roadside arcade spot offers a full and easy-to-navigate menu, great selection, tasty shrimp and well-seasoned meat. Definitely one of the better take-away options in the area, and open almost all day, which is super convenient. Only downside: they forgot the Pepsi I ordered, didn’t include napkins or cutlery for the bowl, and the food was slightly cold by the time I got to it. But overall, a solid choice. I’ll definitely be back.

Google
This is a small food joint near the poipu area. This was a quick grab. The ono fish taco was pretty good. The grilled shrimp taco was tasty, but didn’t like the cabbage and crema combo with the shrimp. It’s more like a fusion Mexican food. If you are really hungry and in search of food, it could be one of your options. This is a take out only place with no seating

Yelp
I come to Kauai every year and every time we come here we bring new folks. Da Crack is always good!! Keep in mind.. there is no seating there, but don't let that stop you! The food is amazing, service is great and it's worth the stop. We always get a fish burritos but had a few people get things like quesadilla, beef bowls and everything was delish! Make this a stop when you're in Poipu!

Yelp

Yelp
Best shrimp burrito have ever had, and as an old Californian that's eaten burritos from SF to LA to SD and Mexico, that's a lot of burritos. Wife loved her shrimp burrito bowl. Roughly 80% of the shrimp sold in California originates as frozen from Vietnam; by contrast, the restaurants of Hawaii typically source fresh local shrimp. The owner(s) and staff of Da Crack clearly care about their product, quality ingredients prepared right - seafood not overcooked, properly spiced, fresh flavorful veggies, well balanced so one flavor doesn't overpower. Thank you to everyone at Da Crack.

Yelp
I love burritos so when I say this is the best burrito ever- it is saying something! I loved the burrito and would go back every day! They are super quick and helpful. Super fun local vibes!

Yelp
one of our FAVORITE meals on the island, and very much worth the price given the quantity and quality of the food. we ordered takeout from here and took it to Poipu beach nearby to eat at sunset, watching the turtles come out - amazing idea. food was good and very filling

Yelp
It took a few visits but I'd finally arrived at a conclusion: Mexican fare in Hawaii is sub-par, avoid it. When, on my most recent visit, I discovered the window in the wall that is the entirety of Da Crack, I was intrigued. The reviews were good from yelpers I trust, the steady stream of customers spoke volumes, and the combination of those things caused me to break my own rule. I ate Mexican food again, in Hawaii. But, as they say, past performance doesn't dictate future results. This time I was pleased with the offering. This is the best Mexican fare I've yet sampled in Hawaii. I opted for a carne asada bowl which was positively overflowing with ingredients. There were enough good tastes in the bowl that I was basically able to stop eating by the time I hit the rice (brown or Spanish are the two options); I was full and rice is always the part that interests me the least. The carne asada was different than what I generally favor, as were all the flavors, in general, but the combination of it all was still good. Bottom line? I was pleased. Da Crack is literally a window. All orders are to-go and there's no place to sit nearby. Still, it's the best Mexican fare I've found on the islands and the only such fare that I've not regretted after sampling.

Yelp
Takeout only, no seating available. Shrimp tacos were alright, fillings and side of beans were pretty bland. It gets super busy during lunch rush. People working are friendly. Tip: 5% cash discount. ATM available inside the market next door.

Yelp
Da Crack is aight! Coming from Socal, it's hard to measure up to the quality of Mexican food we're accustomed to. I ordered the fish bowl, and the ono was fresh and delicious of course. The salsa was lacking in flavor - more like tomato sauce than salsa. If you're looking for Mexican food in Kauai though, this will satisfy the craving.

Yelp
Arrived on a Friday afternoon at around 3 pm and there was barely anyone here. Everytime we drove by here though at around 5 or 6 pm, there is a long line of people waiting. We tried the following combination: -Bowl, shrimp, brown Rice, lava, chipotle sour cream, olives -Bowl, chicken, mexican rice, pico de gallo, chipotle sour cream, cabbage, guacamole (it is an extra cost for the guac) The lava was so spicy but mixed well in my dish. Shrimp was not rubbery at all. The husband said the guacamole was a good add as it added more flavor to the dish. Both dishes were flavorful and was not bland at all. We appreciated that each bowl, they placed each side by side vs mix the ingredients together as I liked mine more mixed and he liked mixing it piece by piece as he ate through it. Overall, I definitely recommend Da Crack! Fun name, great food.

Yelp
Best tacos ever!!! Good portions. Great flavor Recommend. Highly We'd like to go. Condor burritos next time. Fantastic!!

Yelp
Delicious burritos! We were craving some Mexican food after a long day hiking, and Da Crack hit the spot! It is a small, takeout-only window with a simple menu (customize your own burrito, bowl, or taco) in a parking lot, but can draw some big crowds. Most people seemed to stand around their cars eating. Paying with cash gives a small discount too! We tried the shrimp burrito and the Carne Asada burrito, and both were very tasty and quite large! The shrimp was a little hard to find at first, but there was actually a generous portion stuffed in the middle. The meats were well cooked and very flavorful. There is a small market next door with some benches outside if you are looking for a quick place to sit down. I will definitely be back next time we are in Kauai!

Amy H.

Yelp
We found Da Crack, a delicious hole-in-the-wall place, after we saw the sea turtles at Poipu Beach. Real tasty food. No picnic tables.
google avatar

Norma N.

Yelp
Was at it again food was on point flavorful! I had some fish tacos that were grilled to perfection not over cooked. The beans and rice were tasty and didn't disappoint. During our visit we will be eating here a couple of more times. Friendly staff and always hear them helping cuddling through their menu. No seating to go only but it gives you the opportunity to go to the beach and eat.

Tom A.

Yelp
Really good take out - we tried a shrimp bowl, fish of the day bowl a quesadilla and a chicken bowl. I highly recommend ordering online - when you go to pick up you can go to the little side window next to the window where people line up for walk up orders. The amount of food is filling but not huge. The price is good - not cheap - you don't want dirt cheap fish or shrimp anyway. Is it "incredible "? Does not need to be. Enjoy

Yelp
Stopped by the area for some fruit bowls located in the small store next door and saw this place with a long line and good reviews! We decided to try it out! I got the bowl with pork, they gave a good portion of meats. However I wasn't a fan of the taste. For me, it tasted like straight up paprika. A bit overseasoned and made the meat taste dry. My bf got the surf & turf burrito. Althought it looks like a good portion of meat/shrimp in the middle... towards the ends it was more rice and beans. Maybe we came on an off day? However, customer service was great. The cashier was nice & friendly. Although there was a long line, our food didn't take forever to get to us.
google avatar

Yelp
Solid Mexican food! Super busy on a Tuesday evening. Highly recommend ordering online and picking up. No seating in the restaurant, strictly take out. Pretty easy to get vegetarian meals, that's always a consideration for us. We all got bowls - you can customize your bowl with protein and type of rice. The bowls didn't look like a lot but they are super filling and oh-so tasty! Would have given 5 stars if we didn't have to wait 45 minutes for food after ordering.

Devin M.

Yelp
This was a great place to stop for a quick.bite. The burritos were very big and tasted fantastic.
google avatar

Jevonah K.

Yelp
This is the spot for good Mexican food near poipu. They have a pretty standard menu: tacos, burritos, taco salad, enchiladas, etc. Service was friendly and helpful in recommending shredded pork for our burrito. The portion was large, and we split the burrito. This restaurant does not have inside seating. It's more of a to-go spot. Probably would be safe to call to order ahead for large orders. Reasonably priced, $12-15 for a burrito. Definitely give this spot a try if you are visiting the south shore of Kauai.
google avatar

Caroline E.

Yelp
This place is so good! I got a shrimp and beef burrito and it was amazing. My husband got a carne asada burrito that he loved as well. The staff was friendly and the food came out quick! Will definitely be back for more burritos
google avatar

Vanessa S.

Yelp
If you want a hassle free dinner, the burritos are the bomb. The ingredients are fresh, plan to wait a bit! We went into the grocery store and got our shopping done while we waited. This place normally has a line and it's totally worth the wait. Got the beef burrito, plenty of shredded beef and my mother in law got the shrimp tacos. Loved both!
google avatar

April F.

Yelp
Great Great food. Efficient ordering system, friendly staff. Couldn't ask for more. Quality ingredients, cooked with flavor and assembled to make the ultimate bowl or burrito. We opted for bowls and each of us was thrilled and happily fed with our choices. Shrimp is perfectly prepared. Not rubbery or over cooked. Carne asada was a favorite as well as a bowl featuring pork. Everyone loved their bowl and everyone was stuffed!! Happily stuffed!! We've been here numerous times throughout the years, DaCrack has been a consistent staple. Never waiver; hard work paying off!! Mahalo
google avatar

Cassie C.

Yelp
We waited for 45 mins just to get our order wrong. The food didn't have much flavor. It's more hyped up than it should be
google avatar

Charlene L.

Yelp
I had their fish (ahi tuna) burrito and it was loaded with toppings. I recommend calling ahead in advance since they can get pretty busy during meal times. The food was ready when I arrived! Prices are fair given the portion size. My husband and I shared one burrito since we weren't that hungry and it was perfect. There's no seating since they just have a takeout window but we went across the street to the shopping mall and the benches were a great spot to enjoy our meal. There's also a lot of parking too.
google avatar

Lara K.

Yelp
Is Da Crack basically a knock-off of Chipotle? Yes, but you're in Kauai so just relax and enjoy. The hype is real - tasty burritos and chips, you can't go wrong. Especially after a long day out in the sun, there's nothing like these yummy island burritos. Bonus points for cool wall art to admire while you wait! This is a little hole (window) in the wall - literally - so there's no seating or eating here, unless you opt to chow in your car. No judgement.

Aparna N.

Yelp
Great fish bowl! Loved the spice level and freshness of the fish! They had the nairagi fish today. It was perfectly grilled. The wait was around 15-20 mins, not too bad. Totally worth it. No place to sit and eat, just take it to-go.
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
One of our favorite places to eat in Kauai! Truly one of the best burritos I've had. I love their shrimp, Mexican rice, and chipotle sour cream. Definitely try it out!!
google avatar

Sam S.

Yelp
As a San Diegan, I would call this Mexican inspired vs true Mexican food, but it's nonetheless delicious in its own right and very reasonably priced for the island! My go to order is a burrito bowl with shrimp, and my husband trades off between tacos or a burrito. The shrimp in particular is a must try. Would highly recommend and it makes a great beach lunch!
google avatar

Wendy D.

Yelp
This little gem tucked away just outside of a grocery store, surprised us with its delicious Mexican food! We went there after a surfing lesson with (Endless Summer Surf lessons which were also fantastic). We weren't expecting much from this tiny place, but we were hungry and other places were closed. The food was fantastic, and I was thrilled to find so many gluten-free options. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
google avatar

Gage G.

Yelp
What a cool place! We came over here to shop at the grocery store but immediately noticed this walk-up restaurant because the line was sooo long! Once we brought our groceries to the car we immediately got in line (thankfully it died down a bit). Their menu is super gluten free and vegetarian friendly, and they marked every item super clearly with appropriate symbols. The staff was very friendly and the kitchen was super efficient! We only waited about 10 mins, and the food was AMAZING! We might even go back again today. It's a small place and easy to miss, but it's very worth it!
google avatar

Youngsung K.

Yelp
4 stars for the tacos 1 star for the chips which were super stale and not edible Would recommend Sleeping Giant Grill up in Lihue instead!
google avatar

George G.

Yelp
Best shrimp burrito on the island. Wasn't a busy day today so didn't have to wait to bite into why I visit Kauai every summer. Had too many shrimps to count in the burrito. Love this place.

Lisa G.

Yelp
Excellent fish burrito. Carry out only. Highly recommend. Very popular place. Always a line.
google avatar

Yelp
Taco Libre is sadly closed on Weds so we thought we'd give this place a try. I'm sorry but their food pales in comparison. The chips are meh, the pico de gallo was flavorless and needed salt and cilantro. The guacamole was heavily mixed with sour cream or yogurt to add filler to the avocado. Not good :( I got a pork burrito bowl and it wasn't terrible but nothing memorable. The pork did have a good flavor but everything else was just ok. Service wasn't great. The woman taking orders had a bit of an attitude when we told her they forgot to include our sour cream on the side.

Maureen Z.

Yelp
Yummy food, large portions, great attitude. We got ours to go and went to the beach to enjoy. Shrimp bowls, carnitas burritos - so yum!

Yelp
Where can you find a $15 shrimp burrito unchanged in price since 2019? Checked on this place on ordering over the web site, and the prices were astronomical. $14.50 for a chicken dish, $18 for a fish dish, $18 for a shrimp dish, with the chicken sold out late in the afternoon. Drove in the following day at 530pm. Strip mall, with parking in front of the stores, and on the opposite side against the short curb wall delineating it from the road. Full size pickup parked at the entrance made it difficult for cars to enter, due to the narrowness of the opening. At least he backed it in, with the long cargo bed extending over the sidewalk in front of the stores, and not into the parking lot. Checked the cash prices on the menu outside the restaurant, and chicken dishes were $12, shrimp dishes $15, fish dishes $15. 3.9% surcharge for using credit card. And prices 20% higher when ordering on the internet. You need to specify type of dish, type of meat, type of rice, type of beans, type of sauce, spice level of sauce, type of cheese, whether you want cabbage, olives, or $3.50 guacamole, and whether you want it with or on the side. 30 minute wait for meals, while I acted as traffic coordinator, assisting drivers backing out using three point turns multiple times. Some folks just backed out the entire length of the narrow parking lot. Wife liked her $15 shrimp bowl, and wife's sister liked her $14 carne asada steak bowl, both with pico de gallo sauce and shredded cabbage. I got the $14 flour tortilla carne asada steak burrito. I would have preferred lettuce, or cooked cabbage instead of raw cabbage, but that was not an option. Next time order spicy sauce on the side (SOS). The pork, beef, and steak meats are pre cooked, and sit over hot water vats, and will come out well done, and on the dry side. Folks like Yelpers Dean C, and Henry M who like their beef medium rare are SOL. Finished the foot long 2 pound burrito, and went into food coma the rest of the evening. This place is for people with big appetites and compact cars. Da Crack resembles a crack house with a narrow window opening for transactions surrounded by bullet proof brick walls. I know this based on Hollywood movies and not from personal experience. .

Yelp
I should have known better. Being from California I was a tad hesitant, but after reading some of the positive reviews and seeing the long line I decided to give it a try. Its a simple concept - pick your items and place your order at the window and pick up from the side window. It's nothing fancy, but a fun concept. They don't have tables, so if you want to eat sitting down I was told to use the tables at the back of the grocery store next door. Things tried: - shrimp and fish taco with pinto beans and rice. The tacos were ok - nothing like the street tacos at home. Maybe if the ahi was seared vs well done the fish taco would have been better? ‍ The shrimp taco wasn't bad, but the beans and rice were nothing special. The taco plate just didn't hit the spot. - guac and chips. The chips were good but the guac was made with over ripe avocados and was a bit watery. There's no cilantro or onions or any other add ons so it lacked some flavor. I've always been curious, so I'm glad I tried it but next time I'm in town, I'd pass on this place.

Yelp
Coming from Southern California it can be hard to get excited about Mexican food in other places but I was pretty impressed with Da Crack. We got burritos and ate them out by Spouting Horn at the picnic tables. I had the shrimp burrito with Mexican rice, pinto beans and a plethora of toppings which was extremely filling and tasty. They have a daily fish too which changes and that day it was Ahi which my wife had and enjoyed. I did find a small bit of shredded beef in my burrito which was unfortunate as a pescatarian but it happens at quick service places from time to time. It was all in all a good dinner option in the Poipu area!
google avatar

Matt R.

Yelp
Solid Mexican fare. Nothing earth shattering but more than adequate. I would definitely eat here again.
google avatar

Neal L.

Yelp
Wonderful burritos and quesadillas. Good portions, quality ingredients and friendly, quick service. So glad we stopped! Mahalo!
google avatar

Matt S.

Yelp
Kauai is an early to rise and early to dinner so some crack burritos fit in nice with that timeframe. For a pick up joint it's a good option to the resort food around the area. Kids loved their bowls; however, the quesadillas was more of a burrito than the little one would like to chew on. Chipotle style option on the island and a good place if you need additional cervesa's.
google avatar

Angela H.

Yelp
So so so good. Nice people, fast service and the shrimp and carne asada burrito is the bomb.
google avatar

Teri O.

Yelp
Food is awesome & plentiful. This place is a must go. Thanks for everything, see you next year...
google avatar

Mor S.

Yelp
Great Mexican here for an affordable price! Da crack serves up fresh authentic style Mexican food comprised of tacos, burritos, and more. The portion sizes are very generous and affordable! I ordered the fresh fish catch of the day burrito and my girlfriend ordered the chicken burrito. Both were very fresh and had a great amount of flavor. We also ordered a side of guacamole. Would definitely recommend. It is a walk up window so no comments on ambiance or service. Unfortunately didn't take pics!!
google avatar

Holly K.

Yelp
A great find for Mexican food in Kauai.. we got there around 7:15pm on a Tuesday and they close at 8pm. There was a line and there was still people coming behind us. It was a little hard to find at first as the place is between other shops. Food: shrimp tacos were the favorite among the group. Shrimp burrito was also great and filling. If you're not hungry you can share a taco with a friend. I only ate one taco for dinner and I was full. It also comes with beans and rice. The guacamole was a bit too creamy, rich without much spice. Chips are better with the salsa. My husband got the carne asada burrito and he said he wished he got the shrimp. The carne was too spicy for the kids (came with carne and beans for the kids). There was hip hop music playing, dark alley leads to the bathroom in the back that you need a key for. I'd go back again for the shrimp tacos!

Yelp
If you're looking for a quick and easy meal, Da Crack Mexican Grinds is probably your best bet. I drove by this place quite a few times and saw quite a long line which made me think, "should I really get Mexican cuisine in Hawaii?" Anyway, I eventually gave in. I like how they have a sign beside the window that makes it very easy and clear on how to order. I ordered a 1/2 beef, 1/2 shrimp burrito and really enjoyed it. I actually meant to order carne asada but ended up saying beef when I ordered. No biggie, the beef was a tasty beef stew that was both flavorful and soft. The shrimp played a good job in changing ip the texture with each bite as well. Overall, the burrito was enjoyable although I probably wouldn't hype it up as much as I've seen in other reviews. It's a good burrito. Will I order it again? Yes. Does it make my top 10 list of best burritos I've ever had? Probably not.
google avatar

Chelsea M.

Yelp
Hole in the wall , take out only. reasonably priced compared to most other food on the island and decent portion sizes. pretty long line most evenings around dinner time but I'd say for good reason. We did order online though to avoid this and overall wasn't a bad wait at all Solid shrimp tacos and carne asada burrito When I pulled into our hotel and the valet guys immediately said "ohhh you got da crack!!" just by seeing a burrito and an unmarked bag in my hand, I knew it was going to be good LOL ;)
google avatar

Lhaira P.

Yelp
I tried this place while visiting. I ordered almost one of everything on the menu, and it was okay. My family and I love to travel, and we've tried plenty of Mexican food before, so this place wasn't that special. However, they have some of the best customer service; they are always so happy and willing to serve their customers!
google avatar

Daisy S.

Yelp
I'm always hesitant to try Mexican food in areas where there isn't a large population of Mexican people because it's usually very bland and disappointing. However, I stopped by the market next door and noticed that they have beyond meat for vegetarians! They are set up for to-go orders as they don't have an eating area. Their set up is very easy and allows you to customize your meal easily. You follow their steps and add any extras (like guac) if you want. I ordered a burrito with Mexican rice, beyond meat, cheese, cabbage, and their "hot" sauce. First of all, their HOT sauce is not hot at all lol it legit tastes like those canned salsas that pretty much just taste like tomato. If you want a kick of spice I suggest you try their lava? I actually really enjoyed their chipotle sour cream! Cool that they offer different flavors. Overall, it's a cheaper to-go meal in the area and it was pretty satisfying!
google avatar

Yelp
Ckn bowl, they charge $1.00 extra for a paper bowl and had no plastic ware to eat with. Wife said next time we should take our own bowls and spoons so we can eat and not wait to get back to the hotel. It was delicious, I will give em that.
