Got a breakfast burrito, and it was delicious. Salsa bar has hot, medium, and mild choices, with the hot being genuinely spicy. It also has pickled veg, and radishes. Service was great, food was prepared promptly, and prices were very reasonable. Burrito came with a bag of tortilla chips. The dining area is pretty spartan. While not much to look at, it was really clean and well maintained. I love this kind of small business tucked away in the corner of a strip mall. The treasure is the food. I took my food to go, on my way to the airport. It was perfect.

Very good carne asada fries with big portions. My husband and I split a plate and were both quite full after. Would recommend!

My dad went to get us breakfast and after ordering he noticed that instead of the staff focusing and making his order the staff decided to make and serve two customers after him instead , which made him concern about how his order was gonna come out . Not only was his concern correct , the food was clearly over cooked and burned, it seemed as if half the ingredients were burnt away from neglect of focusing on one order at a time . That fact that the staff decided to take care of two customers , that came in after my dad had already placed his order , tells you a lot .We believe that they burnt our order and tried remaking it with the burt food as my dad was there for over an 1 hr. Think twice before spending your money here and think twice if you think this a good place to feed your family, this place is going down hill if it hasn't already. All our food was burnt and disgusting we couldn't eat it because we started to felt sick and actually started vomiting instead. WORST PLACE EVER !!!!!

One of my all time favorite Mexican food spots! Lengua burrito is fire! Always fast and friendly service no matter the time of day. It's been about a year for me because I live in Cincinnati now, but you bet your rear I always stop in here for some grub when I'm in town. So good! Five stars + all day, everyday! Thank you for the great food!

Very friendly and accommodating to my 2 young children. We ordered the chicken taquitos and the shrimp cocktail. My kids are picky and they loved the taquitos, rice, and beans. The lady that helped us with our online order went out of her way to provide everything so my kids can share the taquito plate in the restaurant.

I recently visited Taqueria El Tapatio restaurant. I had an amazing experience! I got a nice welcome from the restaurant owner. She was kind and helpful. The Taco Al Pastor was delicious! Perfectly cooked, with great flavor and perfect garnishing! Along with that, they offered me complimentary chips. Plus, you have a variety of different sauces, salsa, etc. I would recommend this place!

This place is back to being my favorite again. The carne asada here is the best they trim all the fat and other stuff off of the meat so its tiny pieces but its pure tender meat unlike other big name places where the meat is chewy and stringy like rubber and harder to eat.

Erica and the team at Taqueria el Tapatio are world class. They understand three simple things for a great lunch spot. Speed, quality, and service. I have an hour lunch. I can eat at tapatio drive back and still have thirty minutes to nap. The quality of the food is amazing. I eat here four out of my five meals a week. The one thing you'll never forget while eating here is the friendly service. They feel like family with an inviting atmosphere and delicious food. Do not miss out. And experience this great hole in the wall spot.

Ate here a few times before food is good , service was great the only complaint here is to watch out for what they charge you for they have 2 menus with price listing meals right above in display as you enter , but they are both wrong according to staff, versus what the actual cash register charges you it's super confusing and annoying , the girl working there was super nice and apologetic when I asked why I was being charged a complete different cost ?? There's actually 3 different prices she mentioned they where going thru a transition not sure of what ?? But the manager needs to get their job done right to avoid confusion, I also noticed the portion very small compared to other times ,taste was great , NOT the multiple price confusion and their smaller portions , honestly I was just hungry to go elsewhere, but definitely I won't be back there - I hope this helps someone out there.

The birria tacos were just okay as was the bean and cheese burrito Big misses The consume for birria taco was very bland. The rice that came with the taquito plate combo was not edible. Do they not have anyone tasting their food? Chicken taquitos were really dry In total spent over $60-which was not worth it- Will definitely not come back again.

Was craving carne asada fries and this spot came up. I usually go to Alfredo's, so I was excited to try it and compare. portion size did not disappoint -- it looks smaller, but they hook it up. the fries are thicker, the added pico really takes it up a notch, and their green salsa ties it all together. I always grab horchata wherever it's available, and this one hit the spot. The staff there is also super friendly!

Pretty good spot for tacos! We were at the indoor kids gym next door and decided to get some food for lunch. We both got taco plates - I got 2 beef and one chicken, hubby got all chicken. Plates cane with rice and beans. Decently priced a d the food was yummy! Staff was friendly! Would come back!

We were visiting from out of town and decided to eat Mexican food and came across taquería el tapatío since we stayed at the Ramada. Let me start by telling you this hidden gem a hole in the wall was so delicious 10/10 we tried the menudo and it was The atmosphere was great. Staff very friendly establishment claim. Grade A

We came here since we saw they had lengua on the menu! We got Lengua tacos, Al Pastor tacos and Carne Asada Super tacos. The regular tacos comes with onion and cilantro. The Super tacos actually has guac, sour cream and cheese along with the onion and cilantro. The menu needs to be updated since it has the same description for both items. The Al Pastor was delicious, great flavor! They skimped out on the meat for that if you ask me, but probably because it's so good. The Lengua was good too. The Carne Asada as a Super Taco really puts it together. I recommend getting at least 1 Super Taco. They also have a salsa bar with 3 types of salsa, limes and radishes. Love when restaurants have this!

I'm still dreaming of that lengua burrito. The tortilla is thin but still holds all the ingredients well. The meat is in a sauce and not dry. The rice does a great job of holding everything together. Ahhh, until we meet again Tapatío. I'll be dreaming of you. Also, their chips are really good.

Small restaurant serving Mexican food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Typical fare of burritos and tacos. Enjoyed the breakfast burrito which we split between the two of us. Definitely was sufficient to satisfy both our appetites. Prices are pretty reasonable and the food is delicious. Seems mostly like a carry out place although they do have a number of tables inside. No outdoor seating and parking is in a lot shared by several stores

I've been going to this place for years now. Last two times I was there, I've been disappointed with their food. It used to be tasty, big portion and great service. I'm not sure if there is a new management or they just changed things up but the burrito was half the size it used to be. They lacked on the ingredients and I felt like I was biting into nothing but plain rolled up tortillas. They hardly put any onions and cilantro too so it lacked flavor. Salsa was watered down with no flavor. This happened last time but I thought it was just that day. I gave it another try and it actually got worse. The price of this sad burrito was $13.45. It's not worth the money. I rather go to a restaurant or a taco stand like tacos el venaydo.

Consistently delicious and friendly service! My go-to is the veggie taco salad. I haven't found a better one anywhere else in the area. YuM! I recently tried their breakfast burrito and ordered it with "less egg" and I swear each bite was like heaven! They have a salsa bar which is always fun, too.

I recently discovered this restaurant in search of carne asada fries. They were generous with the portion size. A few weeks ago I tried their suiza quesadilla and it was also amazing. Service is quick, the food is delicious. The lady upfront is always so nice and friendly! Can't wait to try more from their menu.

Ugh I gave them another chance ordered on DD because my favorite spots Alfredo's & Casitas aren't available for delivery and UGH. How do they have more than three stars?! Old, bland beans. Bland rice. Flavorless carnitas. Wayyyyy too much onions and cilantro that also tasted old. Paid extra for cheese and sour cream and I couldn't even see it in there. The lack of diversity in Burbank makes its residents think this is good Mexican food. It's actually some of the worst I've had.

The tacos and burrito were good, but they didn't clean the shrimp. Disappointing and disgusting. We've ordered from this restaurant for years, but never any shrimp dishes.

Great little locals spot serving traditional Mexican cuisine in a very relaxed atmosphere People are genuine and friendly and the service is good Food is generous and well portioned and delicious The breakfast combination at $12 is a great deal (see pics) as was the Menudo also $12 Fresh salsa bar to help yourself to red green and spicy salsas as well as lime wedges pico degallo & radish slices If you are lucky old mate out back in the kitchen may even serenade the place while he is cooking ! Was kinda nice to listen to while enjoying our brunch and supporting local business Car park out front that you can normally jag a spot in , only down side was no coffee but you can get that right next door from Dads donuts , no bathrooms here so go before you get here or hold it ! Great if you just need a quick bite

I hope whoever now owns/runs this place sees this because they need to save this place. I've gone here for 8 years and somehow it's taken a big turn in the last year. I could make this much longer but the main thing we've noticed is they barely heat up the food any more . The taco tortillas are barely heated on the griddle and the meat is barely heated up as well. We've had to finish heating up/cooking the food ourselves when we got it home (and we live close by). Please at least have your pay your old cooks come back for a couple days and show the new ones how to cook

What a waste of money and drive time over to this place. I got a chicken burrito that was full of hard gritty burnt chicken totally inedible. Fish tacos are white washed with weird gauce sauce. French fries are hard and old. For 56$ I threw most of it away. I would call to complain but they don't give a crap I'm sure. And I don't think I'll ever go back here. The asada burrito was edible but the meat was not very tasty. Nasty. I miss highland park.

My job ordered here for lunch today via door dash. The food was amazing. I ordered the 3 enchilada plate with rice and beans and the cheese quesadilla with a large Horchata. I highly recommend this restaurant. The enchiladas were great have a nice kick to it. Not to spicy but just right. The rice and beans were really good as well. The only reason i will give this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because my company ordered 10 dinners, and one dinner was not included in the order.

For a guy that eats Mexican food quite a bit, this place is a hard pass for me. It could've been a bad day, but the quality of food, flavor, taste and freshness were not here or there. The service was just okay. Otherwise - thanks but no thanks; as I prefer my Mexican food (off a truck or at a restaurant) that smacks with flavor, not bland, chewy and rubbery. Note, the ambiance is a hole in the wall vibe in a small strip mall.

Had the menudo taste like US menudo and not authentic like Mexico. I know it's hard to get authentic Menudo but this didn't even come close let's not forget the fact that the service was poor and the portion of meat was not worth the price paid. The tortillas that came with the almost meatless soup we ordered tasted very bland like they had been sitting out from the day before and were just reheated. Tried the chili and chips no hint of spicy at all and the chips were stale. Overall a terrible place to eat. I would not recommend anyone to eat here.

We were craving menudo and decided to try this spot. It was not good, at all. Very salty and greasy. I had to add water to it to make it edible. The staff was also too busy to help the customers, laughing and joking. Maybe they should focus on their quality of food first. Sorry, not sorry.

Love El Tapatío! It's old school Mexican and the food is good! The service is quick and friendly. I always get the lengua burrito because it's somewhat rare to get in Burbank and I love it. It's low key seating, I always get my food to go since I live down the street. Although I've lived in the neighborhood for almost 7 years I only recently discovered it. I come here regularly now.

Still open. A few menu changes Sadly, no potatoes. There just isn't enough room in the small kitchen to keep everything back there. The chairs and tables are all removed for your health. Still a delicious quick bite for torta and tacos.

After an afternoon at the Griffith observatory me and my boyfriend where starving we had already planned to como to taqueria el tapatio because we searched up Mexican food on the way to the park I also wanted my boyfriend to give the Mexican food in southern cali a try as he is from Texas the place is nothing fancy it's has old basic tables very small and no restrooms inside. That was not what brought us though. I saw many good reviews and we were on a budget so we said let's go! All the food was fresh my boyfriend ordered the chicken enchilada plate that came with Mexican rice refried beans three enchiladas and some salad which guacamole sauce that tasted so fresh and Mexican cream ( sour cream) the chicken was nice and shredded and the red salsa for both dishes was spicy and made from fresh chiles you can taste it in every bite very savory and aromatic. My boyfriend was very please with the food he enjoyed it so much. My burrito was massive! We easily could have shared it between the both of us If we weren't so hungry it was loaded with rice beans steaks and guac So soft and cheesy! To top it off we had three street tacos just for giggles the corn tortillas were so crispy and hot they were not greasy neither was the meat it was charred to the right point! I'm going to end this review with saying how great the staff was I told them it was my boyfriend's first time trying the Mexican. Food in Cali And we had a very nice talk with them about our day and make sure we had a good experience!

Wow...what a decline. It used to be decent. Now, the place is always filthy. I arrived to an empty restaurant while two employees stood there chatting. The place was filthy. No excuse as there were no customers. Took long to wait for two burritos while the two employees chatted up a storm....never lifting a finger to clean anything. Will never go back . Do the owners not care ?!?

We used Taqueria El Tapatio catering for a backyard party over the weekend and they were excellent! Food was tasty and plentiful, all of our guests enjoyed them and were very impressed. We had tacos, quesadillas, and all of the sides. Everyone went home happy! Highly, highly recommended.

Good location for quick simple Mexican food. Rice and beans are good and brought me memories of the time I was a cook at a Mexican restaurant. Salsa bar offers you mid to spicy salsa with lime wedges and pickled carrots and jalapeños. Interesting to find potatoes in it. Overall good Mexican food at a reasonable price. Busy for takeout.

This restaurant has definitely changed in the last year. Yelp even removed my question about whether the ownership is different now. This used to be our solution for quick relief for weeknight dinner with great flavor, however, the last couple of trips I've noticed the salsa is completely different, chips are dry/stale and the food is just not what it used to be. Something has changed. I won't be back.

This is my go to burrito spot in town. Food is always consistent, great quality and on point. I always get the super burrito no beans, extra onion and cilantro ! The staff is always super nice and friendly as well. Haven't tried something on their menu I didn't like. 10/10

We stopped here because of the reviews, hoping it wouldn't be one of those that don't live up to what others say and WOW! Just WOW! We have a 5 hour drive home and we just keep talking about how good this place was! We were a family of 8 and everyone had nothing but amazing things to say. We got nachos, sopes, tacos, quesadillas, ceviche! Everything was immaculate! For sure saving this place to come again.

my favorite taqueria place. i always get the burrito wet with their secret hot sauce - el deablo. it is the best flavored extreme hot sauce that hits perfect with the carne asada. it's even better if you request sliced pepper in the burrito itself. service is fantastic. ambiance is small strip mall in Burbank. excellent donuts and beer nearby. it offers the perfect trifecta- Mexican food, donuts and beer in one stop.

This place never disappoints! I love their tacos, fresh ingredients, yummy pastor (my fave)! They have a great selection of proteins to choose from. I had their cheese enchilada last week and their super nachos with pastor today. I visit here maybe 3-5 times a month! The salsas are so good, I go with the green salsa since it's the least spiciest. Going to try their hard shell tacos next week. Parking is decent and theirs a great donut shop next door.

Taqueria El Tapatio is a solid option for Mexican food, if in the area . This place has been a Burbank favorite for the past few years and rightfully so. They have a wide variety of Mexican favorites, including seafood . They also serve menudo on weekends and are open for breakfast. I have tried multiple items from here and haven't been disappointed. The burritos are a nice size and they pack the tacos with a generous amount of meat. The salsa bar has a nice variety of salsas and tortilla chips come complimentary with every meal. The cashiers aren't the friendliest but nothing over the top.

I used to really enjoy this place but the service has just gone downhill. They close super early and never update their hours advertised. I placed an order thru DoorDash which was accepted, waited 20 mins outside just for the clerk to tell me they didn't have any more orders. She said I had to contact DoorDash to get my money back. Side note I once came in to pick up an order, asked for a side of cilantro & onions and the clerk literally used her unwashed hand to scoop some into a container. I let that slide because it was a clerk, not the chef but poor customer service and consideration is not something I can look past. This place doesn't seem to like being open and unfortunately I'll have to stop coming here AND recommending them.

was craving chicken enchiladas. looks good, tastes good so far... kinda spicy, but im not a fan of super, spicy. if i start to sweat, that's too spicy...! so far so good... plus, it's next door to the don't shop. kill 2 birds with 1 stone... ok. it's spicy... too spicy...! im dying man... whew-eeee...! no mames güey...! guess it's rice & beans tonight... pass on these enchiladas... eat well my frenz...

This taqueria is a really good Mexican food take-out option in the Burbank area. It was a Saturday afternoon and I hadnt eaten anything all day. We made the short drive from REI in the Empire Center to the corner of Victory Blvd & Buena Vista. There is free parking in the shared lot. Tapatio is in tucked in the corner of the plaza. The menu is quite extensive. Everything from tacos to burritos all the way to full-on sopes plates that come with rice, chips & beans. I was craving a a burrito and spotted a super burrito on their menu ($10.99). I went with carne asada in their version of a loaded burrito that also comes with rice, beans, guacamole, shredded cheese, sour cream, onions & salsa. I went with no cilantro. I have to say, prior to going there I had read some reviews that said there was nothing big as far as the size went on the super burritos. That made me a little hesitant to order it. But I thought the burrito was big by most standards. I dont really know what was expected by those disappointed. I couldnt finish it. I had to leave the very end and I tried my best to finish it but we also ordered tacos so it wasnt the only thing I had. The super burrito was packed with well-seasoned, tender carne asada. Good flavor. They didnt skimp and I appreciated that. At $10.99, its certainly not a cheap burrito but you get a lot of food. We also ordered a couple of their special potato tacos ($3.30?). 2 crispy shell tacos served with shredded cheese, lettuce and crema. The potato tacos were delicious. I really liked them. I've had potato tacos before and these are comparable to some of the real good ones Ive had in the past. I def recommend getting their potato tacos. We also ordered 4 tacos, soft tortilla ($2.63). 2 carne asada, 2 al pastor. These tacos were also real good. They don't skimp on the meat and it comes with a good amount of onions, cilantro and salsa. Al pastor had good flavor. My lady was real happy with her order. Covid-19 precautions are in place at this restaurant. Socially distancing cues are on the floor, employees had masks and gloves on, there is a plexiglass barrier at the counter to protect the employees. No indoor dining at the moment. All the tables and chairs are not in use. No outdoor dining. Take-out or delivery via various apps only.

Parking is almost impossible and the service is reallllly realllllly slow. Like, how long does it take to make 4 tacos? A reallllly long time apparently. The guy sitting next to me finished a huge bowl of mendoza while I was waiting. For 4 tacos. I eventually got the tacos, but they were just OK
