I only took one picture of the steak quesadilla, but the rest of the food was amazing!! 🤤 We had an adobada quesadilla, carne asada fries, spicy shrimp taco, a shrimp vampiro and the birria burrito. We love this place and can't wait for the Goddard location to open!!

West street location is awesome. Both others do not have the same vibe. Food is great. Delicious!! Service is always awesome. But recently it has changed. Portion size has been modified. I appreciated the generous portion sizes but they have recently changed that. It seems your getting half the amount. I also believe they changed their margaritas. Cheaper product or less alcohol. Not sure. Hope they don't lose what made them who they are.

Had the Birra taco, chorizo taco, Birra tostado, and carne asada tostatdo....all excellent!! Haven't had tacos that good in a long time!! Can't beat the price for the amount of food!! $19.50 that included a cerveza!!!!

Street tacos were ok. They come with guacamole, onions, and cilantro. I didn't know guacamole was included and don't like it. But other than that... Taco was good. Chips and queso were AMAZING! Birria ramen is legit one of the most delicious, mouth-confusing thing I've ever tasted ever. 😋 We will definitely go back again.

If you haven’t tried the cheese shell tacos here, you’re seriously missing out! Hands down the best I’ve ever had crispy, cheesy, and packed with flavor in every bite. The food overall was top-notch, fresh, and full of flavor. On top of that, the service was just as impressive fast, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell they really care about making sure customers have a great experience. Between the amazing food and the outstanding service, this place easily became one of my new favorites. Highly recommend!

Food was delicious. Just enough seasonings. I ordered the burrito La Revu. Steak and shrimp. My sons had something different, they all loved their choices. Order when you go in. Then go, find a seat.

These guys have hit the motherboard on food quality and menu options. The food is just fantastic. The West Wichita location is in an old building but the owners have done a great job of updating the property including a new parking lot. All the food is fresh, the service is good, seating is comfy. This restaurant has become my wife and my favorite place for a quick Mexican meal.

The reviews we read really built up Tacos TJ. The street tacos were fine though not super authentic. There are better tacos elsewhere. The star of our meal was the guac and homemade tortilla chips. These were really good! Fountain sodas are almost $3 each. On our visit, the servers seemed harried and not friendly.

They did not skimp on the meat in their items! Amen amen ! Had their birria Crunchwrap and it was so good! Stuffed with so much goodness and the meat was very tender. The outside was crisped to perfection, and I appreciated that they served it already cut for you to enjoy .

This is not authentic by any means. This Overall this place was a disappointment. The service while ordering was pretty good but everything else, especially food was horrible. Pieces of meat were raw in taco. Horchata was disgusting and tasted like the powder they mix with water didn't dissolve. The side of beans was not good and beans were super sticky. The salsa was very bad and was provided in little plastic bags. Wasteful.

From a Texan the Revue' was amazing! Far better than Chipotle. A great lunch and filling.

We ordered for 20 + steak & chicken street tacos with all the fixings and rice with beans. Food was HOT and fresh! So, delicious! Service was outstanding and packaged very well. Including plates, napkins and utensils. Extremely clean and welcoming when arrived to pick our food up. Definitely will be back and I highly recommend.

Self service style with ordering right at the front. They have you a number then you find a table to seat yourself. The Spicy Shrimp taco was great with fresh ingredients and spicy (red) sauce. The Birria Ramen was unique with great flavor and lots of meat. However the noodle needs some work to improve the texture I added the red sauce to Ramen and it actually enhanced the flavor even more.

Everything here is just okay. The birria taco plate does not come with consome. The tortillas are very small and the Mac and cheese is straight up Kraft. They guacamole I just seasoned, mashed avocados with no onions or tomatoes. They could dial back the prices for the low quality they're serving.

Super yummy, quick, and good service!! We were driving through and decided to stop and pick up a burrito. I got the TJ burrito and it was sooo good !! I added sour cream and cheese and man did that just elevate the burrito. My boyfriend got the La Rarevu and loved it. He said the shrimp was perfectly cooked. The meat ratio to other ingredients are definitely good! The green salsa was delicious with a Smokey taste. Loved the red sauce as well. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely stop in again.

We went for a girls lunch on a Wednesday and they were very busy. Typically I don't go out to the west side of Wichita often but happened to be somewhat close and my usual west side Mexican didn't open until 5pm(sorry San Cruditas!) I looked for the best tacos on a Facebook group and saw multiple tags for TJ 664. Odd name but who cares? The food was pretty good! It lacked heat for me, but overall good flavors, good atmosphere, and decent pricing. The fries actually were the favorite and I'm not a potato lover. The service was lacking but the people that were working all appeared pretty young. The meat for the Birria was tender, the cheese on the fries was actually really nice, the guacamole also was good. I would eat here again if nearby. San Cruditas so far has still been my favorite Mexican in town but I moved here from Texas. I like my heat. This was definitely above the Wichita standard. If you need a good lunch this is definitely a contender.

Food was great. I had quesadillas with the prime beef. Excellent and flavorful. Queso and homemade chips were my favorite. My husband had a burrito with shrimp and beef which was big and a lot of food. He also had the guacamole that he liked. It is an order at the register and self-serve drinks kind of place. Definitely will go back.

My GO-TO mexican restaurant! So many good menu items too numerous to list, but the top two for me are; spicy shrimp tacos and carne asade vampiros. Oh, shoot! I really have to tell you 1 more, anything with Birria is super scrumptious! Nice casual restaurant with a full bar and outside seating. Service is great, food is hot and fresh! Rush to Tacos TJ and fill your belly.

First time at this location and most likely my last. So I placed my order and the kids got the order messed up. Wait 30 min for food and the order was wrong. They did nothing to fix it. We had to get back in line to reorder.. and wait another 30 min. It was literally a waste of an hour and money!! Double check your orders before waiting for your order..

This place is good if you are close by, and not near the more authentic taco spots. Or just starving. My visit today was mediocre. I ordered some quesabirria, vampiros tacos, and al pastor tacos. They weren't bad, but in my opinion severely lacking in flavor and spiciness. They served the quesabirria broth on the side, and it was also lacking flavor. The quesabirria was strangely prepared with beans inside of the tacos and consommé. They were not fried with cheese either, instead they tasted like regular carnitas tacos with cilantro, onion, and beans? Very odd. The salsas are MILD, and I'm talking like basically tomato sauce with zero spice. I was very underwhelmed with my experience here, and really wanted better tacos for the hefty price of 36.00. Service was slightly unfriendly too. I suggest going someplace with authentic tacos, where the salsa is spicy, and flavor is abundant. El Fogon is cheaper and has better tasting tacos.

We had chicken and birria tacos on this trip. Anything with birria is fire. Their birria consommé is my very favorite and I love it! Honestly I haven't had anything there I haven't liked. Get this in your belly, you won't be sorry . Service is spot on too!

2nd time here. It's always good. Beer is always cold along with other drinks. Service has always been good for me. FYI: you have to order up front and then go find a seat.

Tacos TJ 644 is a GEM! I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. I travel to Wichita frequently, so I am alone when I dine. I grab a seat at the bar and order off the digital menu. The bartenders and staff are super helpful and are attentive enough for my needs- this is in response to the reviews that don't like the "fast-casual" style. I can't comment on that. The atmosphere is fun and the restaurant is clean. Spacious and spread out for dining. Even the bathrooms are spotless. The tap beer selection could be better. They have all the usual Mexican beers (Pacifico, Modelo, etc...)but could do with a wider range for the beer snobs. I hear they pour a strong and tasty margarita. Full liquor behind the bar. Chips and salsa (not complimentary) are fresh and very good. I'm not a fan of the guacamole- I prefer a chunky style with tomatoes, onions, and this is more like a very smooth avocado purée. Now for the main event... tacos, quesadillas, and vampiros (tostadas)! All the meats and topping are plentiful and SUPER tasty! Every time I come here I eat until I'm stuffed, and then order one more to go. I've had the spicy shrimp, the carne asada, the chorizo, and the al pastor. All have been AMAZING, and I would heartily recommend the food to anyone passing through town. The last time I was here they served the entree with a side of sautéed onions, and even those were excellent! Pricing is on the cheap side with most items in the $2-$8 range. Granted you'll order a few things, but still I'd consider this place a good value. To wrap up: go to Tacos TJ 644, and explore the menu. You're not gonna break the bank and it's a fun and delicious dining experience. I've been here 3 times, and I'm not even from Wichita! I think they'd make a killing in Omaha, and told the bartender to pass it on to the owner he should expand up there. I'd gladly visit. * I wish I had taken more food pictures...

The Spicy Shrimp Tacos are so good. Now every time when I go to Wichita I want these tacos. So when I visit this restaurant is where I'll be. It's always has a full dining room which means it's a good place to eat.

Cute little place. I got the highly recommended spicy shrimp taco! Out of this world delicious. Since someone said the carne asada was good I decided to get carne asada quesadillas. They were good and flavorful but my favorite was the spicy shrimp taco. I will be back!

Really great dining experience! It's different and felt fun! The menu looked really good although I went with a recommendation of carne asada quesadilla w/ side rice and beans. My son had a carne asada burrito. Meat was tender and tortilla was homemade! They serve packets of salsa which is their own brand, very good! There's a full bar! Great selection of spirits and outdoor patio seating. Inside everything is very open and I loved the old wood style framing and pillars, it's a totally laid back environment .. at least that was the feeling I got. Definitely worth checking out! They have drink specials too! Music that lightens the atmosphere

Currently the hottest Mexican restaurant in town. Delicious, quality food and superior drinks and cocktails that won't break the bank. My favorites in a taco, quesadilla or vampiro are adobada, birria and carne asada. My favorite burrito is the La Revu. The birria plate is also very good. You really can't go wrong with anything there. My favorite place to sit is at the full-service bar. Great for watching TV on the big-screens and talking to the bartenders (Greg & Sunny). They also have a party room in the back that can be reserved. Favorite drinks are the Margarita Cadillac and Pina Colada.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant and my experience was exceptional. I ordered six different tacos to get a sample of all the menu flavors, and the tacos were amazing. In particular, the Spicy Shrimp, Abodada, Choriqueso and Salceado tacos were noteworthy. The customer service was very good and the staff were friendly. These are the best tacos I've had so far in Wichita, I highly recommend this restaurant.

What a great place to go if you're in a hurry or you want to sit back and enjoy your dinner or lunch. These guys are great! I started going to them when they were serving their meals out of a truck over by the river. So happy to see them continue to grow. Your food is phenomenal along with great service. First time we tried it. The A/C wasnt working or at least wasnt keeping up with the heat. Food was only ok, not anything to rave about. They do have some good mixed drinks & margaritas. They should add black beans to their offerings and make sure they change out the Spanish rice before it gets old & crunchy, as ours was. The service was not great either, you order at the register, and when our food came to the table the waitress didnt even ask if there was anything else we needed.

This has become my "go to" Mexican restaurant. I always get the "quesabirria" and a birria taco. The blend of the roast beef and spices is just perfect.

I'm in my 50's. My favorite food is tacos and I've had them all over the U.S. and Mexico. These are the best I've ever had. Hands down. Unbelievably good. The pork, Pollo, shrimp, chorizo, Carne Asada.....all of it. They're good size and relatively cheap. I live 3 hours away and I'd be willing to drive that far for them. If you're anywhere close, check this place out. Seriously the best tacos I've I've ever had.

If you're looking for basic tacos that look pretty, this is the spot. Their micheladas were more impressive than the food tbh. Salsas weren't spicy at all.

The food is decent and they pour a decent margarita. My issues-- You have to stand in line to order and then wait for food to be brought to your table. The "servers" forget you exist once your order is dropped off, but seem to want gratuity. If you want another drink, you can't order it from the "server," you have to go stand in line again and then wait for it to be brought to you. It's a very odd "sit down" concept.

OK: I have to reveal something: my Los Angeles-born wife is a taco snob. Naturally, moving to Wichita for work was somewhat difficult as she feared not being close to good Mexican food. Those fears melted away after she took us to Tacos TJ! What looks like a former Sonic Drive-Thru from the street is now one of the best taco places she's ever been to! While we live on the east side of Wichita, this place is WELL worth the drive over to the west side for dinner! There's plenty of space both inside and out for the family. If you too are a member of the taco-suffering diaspora from southern California, look no further - Taco TJs is your salvation.

Mannnn, can we take a moment to talk about the birria quesadilla tacos sooo good and I got one on flour and one on corn with the dipping sauce. I will say don't waste your time with the flour one, the corn was hitting. Service was quick and they were happy to help me and my husband make out selections since this was our first time. We will Be back!

Michelin star Mexican food... coming from a vegetarian/pescatarian it is the BEST Mexican food I've had in a while

This was our first visit. I had seen the sign, but didn't pay much attention until we bumped into a gentleman at a Bel Aire business that morning , and he said it was great. so we decided to go that evening and he was indeed, right! We ordered the tacos which are street taco size with plenty of filling, and very tasty and nicely presented. Looking forward to trying the quesadillas on our next visit as the table next to us, and they were delighted with the food. The service was very good and she explained some things to us because some of their items are new to us. It doesn't seem to be your run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurant. As you enter the store, it feels a little bit like a fast food Mexican restaurant because you order at the counter, but then they bring the food to you and apparently they bus the tables for you. They did for us. We look forward to another visit soon.

Any time I am in Wichita, I make it a point to visit Tacos TJ. The new location has a full bar too, and they serve up easily one of the best tacos I have ever had in Wichita, and that's saying something because there are some really good taco spots here in town. The tacos here are a little bit different in the sense that the food is more Tijuana style (hence the "TJ 664" in the name), and they also have some of the best birria tacos I have had anywhere in the country. On various visits here, I have also tried the spicy shrimp tacos, the steak burrito, the steak tacos, and the Taco Salceado (double tortilla, prime steak, spicy shrimp and various veggies and cheese). None of these dishes will disappoint you, but the spicy shrimp and the birrias are by far my favorite items from the menu. Their tacos are slightly smaller than other places in terms of the price, but the restaurant is still worth a visit for any taco snob.

We ordered a variety items to go. The carne asada vampiros, carne asada quesatacos, birria tacos with consome, and spicy shrimp taco. My favorite of the bunch was the vampiros--I will definitely order that again. I loved the cheese on it, too. I've never noticed vampiro at other restaurants before so I wanted to try it. The spicy shrimp tacos were flavorful, too. The consome for the birria tacos was okay--I haven't had enough varieties of this to know what it's really supposed to taste like. I think the beans kinda threw me off. But I will try again sometime.
