"The longtime ballroom has been replaced seamlessly by a new venue, which has taken over the space and operations." - Harry Cheadle

"Dine and Dance in Seattle Feel like learning to East Coast Swing, Salsa, Tango, Waltz or Kizomba while you're in Seattle ? From events to classes, to venue rentals and Footloose -inspired advocacy (repeal the 'dance tax' in Washington State), this is the perfect place for a creative date night. The organization is made up of three venues that include the Century Ballroom, the West Hall and the East Hall (pictured). Be sure to check online in advance for availability and times that certain types of lessons are taught, and then make a reservation. You're in the perfect place for dinner as well, in that hip East Pine St and 10th neighborhood, but wouldn't you know that the Century Ballroom owns a lovely dining spot on the same floor of the building where you'll be dancing. The intimate Tin Table is a great spot for a cocktail and some food to fuel all of that movement. Have fun!"

No Anchor Will Close Temporarily During Current Dining Restrictions | Eater Seattle

"Partnering with The Tin Table on a GoFundMe, Century Ballroom — long a popular venue for dance classes, parties, and events — is helping try to cover rent and operating expenses at the historic OddFellows building as owners seek funds to bridge until normal activity can resume." - Gabe Guarente

Love their ballroom dancing social on Sunday afternoon! The class at the beginning is easy to follow and really helps introduce the basics, and some of those older gentlemen are the absolute best walzers you will meet in your life.

The bar is quite comfortable, serves drinks and good food which is great to wait for the ballroom to open. The salsa classes are ok, you rotate partners so be warned. You would only get a taste of salsa to the classes so think of them as a way to socialize. After the class you can stay and dance past midnight. Definetly a peculiar gathering as you will find expert dancers as well as guys just looking to impress

Very friendly instructors, spacious practice hall, bright and pleasant. Ideally bring a friend or a partner, solo dancers may not necessarily get paired up. The new year eve dinner and party are awesome!

I've been coming to this gorgeous historic ballroom for over 2 decades. It feels like my dance home. Such amazing memories, friendships and of course, dances, here. Century Ballroom is a MUST SEE if you are a dancer living in or visiting Seattle. <3

This venue offers an excellent atmosphere for enjoying and dancing to Latin music. However, the DJ tends to focus on classic salsa, and there is a dedicated space for bachata. The crowd is mostly mature, with a mix of sugar daddies, cougars, and the local community from Seattle.

It’s been 3 years since I’ve last come here and when I did it was a great experience but I was surprised at the change, the layout is completely different now, the bar is completely separated from the ball room. I went on Thursday for Bachata dancing and found there to be almost all couples with very few single people sprinkled in. I thought it was going to be more of regular Latin dance night but these people are serious about dancing lol! The only good thing was the drink called Improved Manhattan, that drink is smooth and packs a huge punch!! Other than that I won’t be going back on Thursdays lol!

The Oddfellows Building at 915 E Pine Street has been a Capitol Hill landmark since 1908. Originally built for the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, the building’s upper floors served as lodge halls, while later decades saw it host a rotating cast of arts organizations, including Freehold Theatre, Velocity Dance Center, Reel Grrls, and Annex Theatre. In 1997, Hallie Kuperman opened Century Ballroom on the second floor. The space became central to Seattle’s social dance scene, offering classes and events in salsa, swing, tango, and more. It housed two main ballrooms: the larger North Hall, with wide, unsprung wood floors and large windows facing Cal Anderson Park; and the more intimate but still spacious West Hall, with high ceilings and a quiet grandeur. In 2009, Kuperman opened The Tin Table restaurant across the hall, which remains known for its extensive cocktail menu and relaxed, upscale atmosphere. Century Ballroom closed in March 2025. In April, Reverie Ballroom opened in the same space under new leadership, continuing the dance tradition while expanding into other movement arts. The ground floor includes Oddfellows Café & Bar, Molly Moon’s Ice Cream, and other shops. The area is lively at night, especially during events. Parking is limited—expect $25–30 in nearby lots or try for street parking. Walking alone is generally safe, though some may prefer company. Post-pandemic, Capitol Hill has regained its vibrancy, with abundant bars and late-night food. Nearby hotels are limited; more options exist near Lake Union, Belltown, or the University District.

I *LOVE* this place! A temple for social dance. This is one of my favorite ways to see community, mingling, sharing connecting.... And I always feel welcomed. I have done both classes and socials here at the ballroom. One of my favorite parts is that almost every social has a lesson to go along with it. So if you don't quite know the dance, or if you're going out and someone in your group doesn't know all the steps, its totally fine, just show up early and you'll be dancing in no time. Keep your eyes on the calendar for fun upcoming events such as live bands, cabaret shows, specialty dances, and fun events! They have a punch card system for folks who come all the time, and all level one dancers get in for free to their respective socials so that you can practice! I've been dancing for 5 years now and this is where I feel most at home dancing
