The 10 Best Restaurants In Wimbledon

"A bright and fun spot in Wimbledon Village, Patara is a go-to for a casual first date or when you need somewhere that’ll keep your whole family happy. But one of the main reasons we like it is the outdoor terrace. It’s a hidden garden where you can enjoy a top-tier Thai green curry that’ll have you dousing your tongue with water before going in for another bite. The casual indoor space is nice too, if the weather’s being British, especially if you’ve got a bowl of hearty lamb massaman in front of you. The Thai menu spans noodles and satay—and everything is pretty good." - rianne shlebak

"If it’s alfresco dining you’re after, Thai restaurant Patara has one of the biggest garden terraces and a pretty good cocktail menu to match."

I visited this beautiful restaurant with a friend and we were both extremely impressed with it. First impression, we both mention upon entering was the delicious smell of Thai food that meets you as soon as you walk in. The restaurant is tastefully decorated with a a lot of attention to details mixing traditional and modern, creating a welcoming and inviting atmosphere. The food was delicious, we went for the buffet and tried everything they had to offer. Thai cuisine is my favourite and I know very few places that deliver the authentic Thai flavours outside of Thailand, but this is definitely one of the best I have tried. Their Tom Yum was full of flavour, the papaya salad was amazing and my favourite dish which have only ever found in one other restaurant, Yentafo noodles! They were extremely tasty and authentic. Like I said we tried everything and we loved it all. We were so impressed with this little restaurant, drinks were very good as well. I had a passion fruit virgin cocktail and it was so good I had to order a second one. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant as it is definitely one of the best I have ever visited.

It was my first time visiting this brand in Wimbledon after hearing great things about their buffet, and I must say I was very impressed. The setting and layout of the restaurant are stylish and welcoming, and from the moment I walked in, I was greeted with friendly smiles from all the staff, which instantly made me feel at home. The buffet selection is fantastic, with a wide variety of authentic Thai dishes to enjoy. I particularly loved the freshly made papaya salad – my absolute favourite Thai dish – and the noodle soup, which was cooked to perfection and reminded me of the flavours I know from Thailand. Even though I was already quite full, I couldn’t resist ordering a main course as part of the buffet and went for the king prawn Pad Thai. It was beautifully cooked, with the perfect balance of salty, sweet, and tangy flavours. To finish, I treated myself to the Thai desserts, which were served in delicate bite-sized portions. The coconut sweet was especially delicious and rounded off the meal perfectly. What truly made the experience stand out, though, was the service. All the staff were attentive and professional, and a special mention must go to Joob, who looked after our table. Her attention to detail, warmth, and professionalism were outstanding – one of the best waitresses I’ve ever come across. Overall, this was a wonderful Sunday dining experience. I’ll definitely be returning to try more dishes, and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic, tasty Thai food in Wimbledon.

My partner and I had a wonderful time at Patara. The service was first class with very friendly and welcoming staff, who were very knowledgeable of the dishes on the menu. The food would give the high end restaurants a run for their money, our dishes were well flavoured and the meats/fishes in the meals were very tender, which enhanced our dining experience. Very happy couple and will be bringing families on our next visit - hopefully sooner than later!!

This is the best Khao soi I have found in London so far, but I decided to order from the other menu this time. The food was nice but small portion, and a bit long wait time but acceptable as it was a Friday night. The services were excellent. My parents enjoyed it.

Best khao soi I’ve had outside of Chiang Mai. Amazing appetizers too. Pamela was fantastic. Such great service. We can’t wait to go back and try the brunch buffet. Super authentic food with the freshest ingredients.

We had an incredible time at Patara. We opted for the tasting menu for two and it was more than enough! Every dish was divine including the brownie which was decadent. Highly recommend this place ! We will be back

Actually it was my special day. And I spent over £130 but did not receive good service. One staff member kept forgetting my requests and rarely came to the table. Even when I asked for something simple like the drinks menu, she ignored me. Her attitude felt disrespectful, and the service was very poor. The beef green curry I ordered at the end was extremely salty. I asked for it to be remade, and another staff member kindly accepted, but when it came back the taste was exactly the same. I could not tell if it was a new dish or just the same one returned. I had to eat it because I needed to pay, but when I went home, I had to drink a lot of water. On top of that, another child was running around the restaurant, even coming to our table and shouting, but no staff made any effort to stop it. This made the dining experience even worse. I understand that food can sometimes be disappointing, but the staff member’s unfriendly and careless service was unacceptable. With no smile and no effort to be polite, I truly felt ignored. Because of this, I will never come back, and I cannot recommend this place to my friends.
