Penny Drip

Went here with a friend today and got the Cowboy Coffee to drink! It was AMAZING!! The drinks even came with logo ice cubes! We ordered the pretzels and beer cheese as an appetizer and it was very yummy! We also had the chicken ricotta sandwich for our entree and it was so flavorful and came with a very refreshing salad! We will definitely be coming back! Insanely good first impression! Staff was super friendly and very helpful! Love this place!

Great place! More a coffee cocktail kind of place with some stellar food. Service was great although being so busy. If you’re looking for a “west coast” vibe this place definitely has it! Very niche.

This is a really cool hidden gem in Fort Wayne. Everything is very well done and thoughtful. The menu is quaint and offers a nice variety. Clearly, there is a lot of creativity going on here. The drinks are different, delicious and effective which is important to me. One and done! The food is really, really good. Good ingredients that fill you up. The staff are even better. . .Chill and very helpful. My drinks were served timely as well as the food. Chill atmosphere overall.

Very cool place! It's bright and welcoming inside, and they can open the overhead doors for indoor/outdoor seating. They also have patio tables. The baristas are true artistes, my latte pour had the leaf design done very well. More importantly it tasted good, and they can add whatever you like. The have beer wine and cocktails. Great graphic design for their logos too!

Nice atmosphere, quick service, great sandwich and drink! I got the brown sugar special, as an iced latte and it was delicious, espresso was smooth. The breakfast sandwich, albeit messy, was so good! Whatever sauce comes on the sandwich really accentuates a classic breakfast sandwich. Parking was a little difficult to navigate, but if you look on maps before hand, plan your route to park in the nearby lots or at a meter nearby!

My daughter moved to Ft Wayne over the summer to attend Purdue. Penny Drip is definitely my favorite stop when we visit her. The lattes and coffee are consistently amazing. The best thing though they have are VEGAN BREAKFAST SANDWICHES!!! It's hard to find vegan breakfast stuff that satisfies the way this does. I live in a smaller town near South Bend/Mishawaka and they do not even have this basic breakfast concept anywhere. My husband and daughter also love the non vegan breakfast sandwiches too. We started coming because of the vegan stuff, but continue coming for the excellent quality of food and coffee. It's always the highlight of my month when we get to visit! Penny Drip is like no other in my opinion. The idea of coffee, alcohol, and amazing food is next level genius. The atmosphere is welcoming and the people working are always friendly and seem to happy to be there.

Did not have food. Only coffee and drinks. Latte was great! Decent drink selection. Espresso martini was not my favorite. Tasted good, presentation was nice, but the ground espresso beans on top were a little much for me. Looked beautiful though!

this is one of the few places in fort wayne with a very good reliable latte!! they have very unique flavors and options such as there pickle lemonade. also you MUST try there beer cheese and pretzels. they are amazing and always come out piping hot :)

A really nice spot in downtown Fort Wayne. Went here on a Saturday morning. Restaurant space is very clean with some tables and bar seating. Staff was very friendly and service was great. They have lots of caffeine options for the morning but also a great assortment of cocktails. Both the avocado toast and breakfast sandwich were great. Prices are very reasonable. I would definitely recommend checking this place out.

More of a bar than a coffee shop Penny drip is a unique place in Fort Wayne. By far has one of the most unique environments. They have a bar that leads into a barber shop that leads into a book nook area. In terms of a bar, it's one of my favorite bars in the city. In terms of a coffee shop, it falls about average. The staff here is super knowledgeable about the business, they all have great attitudes and seem like they want to be there. Food is good but a little on the pricy side for bar food

Industrial-style bar and cafe with a chai spice aroma encapsulating the space. Things you should know: I. PARKING There is a free, private parking lot to the left of the building, sharing spaces with the neighboring barber shop. Easy and convenient. Plenty of spots open around 1pm on a weekday! II. SERVICE Timely III. QUALITY The black Americano I ordered here isn't as dense and acidic as I'm used to. A little watered down but the price is unbeatable..! Then again, I'm visiting from metro Atlanta, so prices in Fort Wayne, in general, seem more affordable..! IV. CAPACITY Fair amount of available seating around 1pm on a weekday. Seems like a good spot to camp out and knock out some work or catch up with friends. It's not too loud either.

Penny Drip is such a fun spot! Yesterday we went for a drink after a movie at The Cinema Center -- had a Cowboy Coffee, which was tasty and balanced. I love that you can always get a coffee or a cocktail and both are delicious, and $5 Old Fashioneds on Tuesdays make for a nice tradition! The menu is small, but complete. I have had a great salad there, yummy pretzel bites with cheese, the pickle pizza (YUM!) and an outstanding breakfast sandwich. Plus, the my servers are always very helpful and friendly!

Very hipster place. There's a barber shop connected to it, which is a smart idea. They had some food and desserts, but most of the menu is just drinks. Banana Bread Latte - Espresso was smooth, but it's lacking in flavor. It had an aftertaste that kind of tasted like banana bread, but that might be a stretch. 2/5 stars. Miel Latte - Espresso was smooth as well, but this one I couldn't taste much honey or cinnamon. It's like buying a grocery store drink out of a carton. 1/5 stars. $7-8 is pricy for an artisan coffee drink, especially when United or Mocha Lounge is cheaper and they taste better. Very disappointing. Maybe the alcoholic drinks are better, but I don't drink. The couple next to us got desserts, but they didn't seem to enjoy it. The bartenders put on a nice show. 2 stars, one for the smooth espresso and one for the bartenders.

Great local place for brunch or cocktails at any time! Super great cocktail menu with variety and fun flavors, as well as highballs. The food is always simple yet complex in flavor and the service is fast! The big window with a breeze and the patio area really let you enjoy the downtown atmosphere. Super cute space and I love the ceiling with the copper embossed tiles! Great spot to visit if traveling morning or night! The cowboy coffee was delicious and the dill in the egg sandwich gave it a special creative touch to a casual breakfast sandwich. They also have a barber shop if you're in need of a trim ;)

Great place for a drink - coffee or alcohol - and a snack! I ordered an espresso martini and the pickle flatbread. They were both great! Plenty of seating inside. Looking forward to warmer weather as their patio looks nice as well! Parking is somewhat limited, but street parking is available.

My wife and I love this place for a pre-dinner drink and maybe a flatbread or warm pretzel with beer cheese. Don't miss the coffee Negroni, black margarita, homemade gin and soda, or the cowboy coffee!!

Came here on a Sunday morning with some friends after hearing good things. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They have an extensive menu with tons of different options. I don't like coffee but they have other options. I ordered a peppermint vanilla chai but it wasn't great. It tasted like warm milk with no peppermint. I would suggest coming here if you're a coffee fanatic! I also heard the food is good but I haven't had the chance to try yet. I would come back again just to try some other things. They have a great space. The ceiling is a looker and they have a cool logo mark on the ground as you walk in.

Fantastic location for brunch, cocktails with friends or even for dinner. Love the service love the drinks love the atmosphere everything we've had here has been delicious from the avocado toast to the GK hot pretzel to the breakfast sandwiches. This is a must try in Fort Wayne. My fave is the bloody Mary with a housemade bloody Mary mix... Amazing !

We went to Penny Drip on a hot summer early evening, and it was fairly busy, but we didn't have a problem getting a seat and we found a table that was not in the sun. The crowd was mostly 30ish or younger. The garage style doors were open and it is on the corner of a busy 4 lane street, so many times the sound of loud motorcycles and cars drowned out the conversation and the music. As it was early evening the sun was shining in the place and about 90 degrees. You seat yourselves, and you order at the counter, and then someone brings out the drinks and food to your table. So it is a minimal service restaurant, but when you pay, before even getting your food, you are still presented with the option on the pad to tip the usual 15%, 20% 25% or custom. Tipping used to be based on service after the fact, as this is a half self service I'm not sure anything over 10% is justified, although I did give them a decent tip, I'm not sure that was justified for just bringing our food out. Anyway, that is an industry wide issue and not specific to PD. The expensive drinks were very good tasting. I ordered a Cafe Mexicano but they were out of an ingredient so I got the Black Margarita, $12. The others ordered a vodka and tonic and one of the other designer drinks. The margarita came in a very small glass which was filled with mostly a single very large but cool ice cube wit PD initials. The drinkable portion was very good, but maybe half a cup or less. The other drink, $12, was also in a small sized stemmed glass, smaller even than a champaign glass. She said it was good. The vodka and tonic, $10, was reported to have little to no vodka. The BLT was excellent, but for $16, I don't know. The flatbread pickle chicken pizza, $16, was not my thing, and we also had the avacado toast, $10. I've had better. Everything seemed to be drenched in olive oil. We are older, so maybe this is not our demographic, and maybe it would be better as a coffee place in the morning or lunch. The person who rang me up was very nice, but the person who dropped off our food seemed indifferent when we asked for something, so I kind of felt like I overtipped. Would I go back? Maybe for a coffee or breakfast bagle, or maybe lunch. If I was a young hipster with money on a date, I might hang out there, but I'm not.

Caramel oatmilk latte + bacon, egg, & cheese bagel sandwich is an incredible combo. So glad I came & tried this place out! I need to come back for an evening and try the drink/cocktail menu! Service was quick & friendly. Atmosphere is good, it's just a little small inside so it can get crowded easily.

Located in downtown Fort Wayne, Penny Drip is the perfect place for remote working. There are two doors you can enter through. The glass door off the patio gets you directly inside the coffee shop. If you walk through the big wooden door, you'll end up in the barber shop and then have to walk through it to get to the coffee shop. While the coffee shop was a little bit busy during my Wednesday afternoon visit, there was still plenty of options for outdoor and indoor seating. A few regulars seemed to be taking up the space at the bar. Which, if you plan to work a while, is a good location since there are outlets for your devices. There is a larger table inside that's good for groups, and some smaller tables as well for those dining or working alone or with another person. Penny Drip has some neat seasonal drinks. I tried the blueberry blossom. It was just as beautiful as it was tasty. The coffee shop also offers cocktails, so it's a nice place to wind down after a day of work. The food is also excellent. I was a little bummed that they were out of sourdough and chicken during my most recent visit, so that took away the option to try the BLT and add chicken to a salad. However, I tried the casear salad with bacon and it was pretty amazing. It was affordable ($13) and a nice portion size. Penny Drip has a small parking lot. If that's taken, there is 2-hour street parking nearby. Parking enforcement is no joke in downtown Fort Wayne. I had 5 minutes left on my meter during my most recent visit and parking enforcement was waiting to write me a ticket. If you stop by on the weekends or after 5 pm, there are also some nearby parking lots that you can park in.

3 stars because the sandwich really is flavory and I love that the taste is always consistent the last 3 times I continued to support this lil Spanish replica. HOWEVER, it's ALWAYS puzzling asf to me when you are a fresh face in a place or it's LITERALLY 7AM OR you read others reviews on how "friendly" staff is but you walk in and besides yourself there's only 1 other person there yet the individual behind the counter doesn't look up, or bother to say, hello, one moment, I'll be right with you! Like if I wasn't hungry I would have really walked out solely based on the service I received today. But oh well, I got a good warm sandwich to start my day so ‍. Oh, they too also forgot the sauce that always came with it before but again they were "swamped" with customers so oversight, out of mind I guess I don't know if I recommend to BIPOC but you might experience that friendly service if you are to their likeness.

Amazing Place. Wish my town had a concept like this. Great for morning, noon and night. Our dream came true with a craft coffee cocktail bar! We've had sausage sandwiches, americanos, espresso martinis, hella good coffee drinks. Also they imported a bubble machine from Japan that makes him and sodas with a long tall ice cube in it. I'll get photos next time and add them to this review. This is a five star must stop joint.

This review is solely based on cocktails. Simply a great watering hole doing some pretty innovative shit with high quality spirits and coffee. Easily the best espresso martini in town...and their little japanese gin tap job is something you gotta fuck with. Ambiance dope. Music dope. Bar tenders dope. Expense not dope but ya gotta pay to play. Wife says their bloody mary is straight hood.

I stopped by Penny Drip last evening with my adult son. I had seen so many great photos on YELP, I just had to try it. The location has a small parking lot, but the Berry St side offered street access parking. The building is easy to access and appears to have two entrances. I entered through the first door, I'll warn you, the first entrance is also for Executive Barbershop. You'll immediately notice three barber chairs, which were full of clients when I arrived. Just past the barbershop, down the hall, is Penny Drip. It's a small hipster space with a bar area and table seating, as well. Once I was firmly in the Penny Drip area, I noticed there is another glass door entrance that I could have used. It is also where they offer seasonal outdoor seating. I felt almost aged out of the atmosphere. One thing that made me comfortable was the music choices. Very subtle and soft old school classics. James Brown was lowkey playing as I placed my order. Music is one of the great equalizers and it offered me some comfort in the space. My son and I tried the New York Chopped Cheese. It was the special this weekend only. The bun was soft and the meat and cheese had awesome flavor. It was worth the trip. The establishment offers other menu items for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. As for the staff, no one was rude or discourteous, nor were they dismissive, they just weren't engaging, at all. I think that added to my discomfort. Since my parents live in the area, I'm sure I'll stop in again.

A busy hipster stop tucked in this little yellow building in downtown Fort Wayne. I love that they're open early and late. The food tastes great and is well plated. The back corner table is kind of chilly during the winter.

Met a friend for coffee and ordered a lavender oatmilk latte. It was delicious, and the coffee tasted great. The atmosphere inside is also very nice. It was a little confusing, since there's a barbershop right next to the cafe, but if you walk through there's more seating for the cafe. Overall it was a very nice, chill environment. Because of where it's located trying to get to the parking lot was not easy and I ended up parking on the street.

Although parking can be tricky, Penny Drip is worth a visit. I stopped by after work to meet a friend, and we had a great experience. The staff was so friendly, both our lattes were excellent, and the atmosphere was lively. We will be back!

Another trendy hipster kind of coffee shop . By far the most expensive coffee I ever had. You pay 25% tax. However, nice place to hangout.

Absolutely LOVING this new addition to downtown Fort Wayne! I attended the soft opening and loved it. They offer cocktails and coffee and have great small plate items. I really enjoyed the beer cheese & pretzels (pretzels from a local bakery!). The nitro cold brew with oat milk is great, and the Aperol Spritz was perfect. Parking is a little tricky, so street parking is definitely your best bet! Indoor and outdoor seating available.

A bunch of friends decided they wanted to meet her. This was my second time and it was a much better experience! The staff made us feel welcomed and were genuinely kind! They also engaged in conversation with us as well! My frozen Irish coffee was strong and delicious! The curry chicken sandwich was wonderful (fun fact it is not made with eggs but does have mayonnaise in it). The sandwich had just enough curry but it was not overpowering! Reminded me of a sandwich I had in an English Tea House (called Coronation Chicken). It was a bit pricey at $15 but I knew that going in so it was not a shock. With a 20% tip it was a little over $30 I was hesitant coming back to PD because of my previous experience and after the way my previous review was addressed. However, this experience was better and I will be back!

Delicious food & friendly service. Wasn't up for a mixed cocktail but I'm excited to come back another time & try one of their options!! Nevertheless, the latte & avocado toast were amazing. And I love that their shareable options are actually big enough to be shareable - sometimes it's a toss up. Awesome!

Such a great addition to the Fort! Love the fact that they are open late + do special events. Great place for a day date, girls night, or to grab a quick coffee made with love. Large unique drink menu, alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Soup/salad/sandwich/small bites menu, but great options. We ordered the Burrata Dip, Poppyseed & Brussel Salad, and Parm & Prosciutto Baguette. DELISH! All were superb, but the Burrata Dip is out of this world. It has a kick so head up! Kinda wish the sandwich had more toppings on it...maybe some tomatoes, arugula, mushrooms, capers, etc. They also typically have a featured menu item each week. Friendly and personable staff. Super chill and relaxing. Highly recommend to locals and those in town visiting. 10/10

First time here and it won't be the last! The iced vanilla latte was perfection. One of the best I've had. I know it's not hard to go wrong with this particular coffee but theirs was perfect! Not too sweet and the ice cubes are awesome. The food is great! I was pleasantly surprised. Everything tasted wonderful. The pretzels and beer cheese were SO good! I can't wait to get back in to try other items. Also, the atmosphere is great, I love the cocktail menu as well. Much to choose from. Our service was top notch as well. Great little spot A+ gold star

Big fan of this place. I love the creamy, smooth acidity to their espresso, and the espresso martini is excellent. I can't say I'm in love with their sense of style, but it's also very new, still growing and learning how it fits into the landscape of downtown Fort Wayne and I'm still learning how I fit into their space. Still, I love the work they're doing and they'll see me around often!

My wife and I stopped in during a bike ride for a sandwich and drink. Service was friendly, helpful and let my wife sample a cider. Food was good, price was reasonable. Definitely a good place to stop at!

Penny Drip has the best espresso and matcha I've ever had! Every drink is specially made and their food pairings are also delicious. Definitely a hidden gem!

Very trendy place that was cute. Staff was nice. I've been a few times and tried different items... WAY OVER PRICED. It's big city pricing for all of their items. Their coffee is very acidic and weak. I've tried two lattes and both times they've had grounds in it. Their gin and tonic was all tonic. Irish coffee was weak coffee and heavy on the Irish part. I've never tried their baked goods or food, but it's too expensive for me to go back and give it a try. The place is a nice thought, but poorly executed.

Finally got to try Penny drip for lunch. An impressive list of coffee-based cocktails for sure. The margarita was tasty and strong. My salad was fantastic. But I was really disappointed with the potato soup... tasty but it was about a half a cup for $8. I literally wanted to ask why they couldn't fill the tiny bowl up. It's made of potatoes for f's sake.

Overpriced drinks. Awkward location. My "cold brew raspberry tea" tasted like someone took a glass of water and someone whispered 'raspberry' from 3 miles away. However, the staff was very nice and the interior was clean and aesthetically appeasing. Only thing keeping this from being a One star. Disappointed.

Penny drip had a very friendly staff and a delicious lunch menu! I had the avocado toast and my boyfriend ordered a sandwich. We were both very impressed!

Small expensive drinks and when you leave an honest review that isn't 5 stars the owner throws a tantrum like a child. This place won't last, and good riddance honestly.

Really wanted to like this place, and given the reviews I thought I would. Bartender was fantastic, other than that not so much. Way overpriced, and the drinks are incredibly small. The old fashioned was okay, but I took the ice cube out and the drink filled 1/4 of a tiny glass. Ordered a beer and it came in a thick mug, likely only 10oz of beer. Sad to say, I will not be back.

Ever since this place open up, it's just so surreal even if quiet or busy the place is just very lovely, it's cozy when you head inside to have a drink when it's too cold outside. And it's also really nice to have a drink outside of the bar at the patio just to relax and enjoy the scenery. Also it's very convenient and the walk to this bar is nice. I will always recommend this place and portions to me are a good size.

Staying at an Airbnb in the area and I've already come here 4 times. Honestly best iced vanilla latte I've ever had. Also their espresso martinis are great. A little pricy but hey the quality is worth it.

I was visiting Ft Wayne in Sept and went to the fabulous Art Museum there. Penny Drip is just a couple of blocks (at most) away on Lafayette St and the perfect place for lunch. Had a delicious chicken curry sandwich and another salad, as well as a couple of their pastries. Staff super nice and helpful, our food came out quickly, was nicely presented. The best part was that we entered the restaurant from the side entrance, which leads you through an extremely neat and clean barbershop - very cool!!! Love the decor as well...

Mexican firing squad, super light and refreshing if you enjoy tequila. The atmosphere is super chill and has outdoor seating.
