Apollo Beach Visitor Center

It's a great stop to learn about the flora and fauna of the Canaveral National Seashore. There is a small display, a small gift shop and a film you can review. The Canaveral National Seashore is beautiful and well worth a stop. (Warning, there is a nude beach in area five for those who prefer to see their sun worshipers clothed).

**You must exit the park before 6:00 p.m. It was an incredibly beautiful place. We saw dolphins and even an armadillo, and our child absolutely loved it. We were enjoying the scenery so much that we lost track of time. When we tried to leave around 6:10 p.m., the gate was already closed, and we were stopped by a park ranger and received a fine. I was very surprised and didn’t say much at the moment. It was my mistake for not realizing that you must exit the park before 6:00 p.m. Please learn from our experience — make sure you leave the park before closing time.

Nice to visit. Very informative at the visitors center. Also have short video to watch. When out on trails make sure to bring bug spray! Walked the beaches, not a lot of shells but still nice walk

Was able to drive out to this area while vacationin in Orlando area. Great perk having a lifetime national parks pass via my service enlistment. Am able to enjoy places that I would normally pass on. Area was pretty green and clean all around. Not very many people out swimming, so felt as if the locartion was all ours. A must revisit with other family and freinds when the time allows.Staff was ablove and beyond in welcoming us on our visit.

Very cool place and the staff at the visitor center is top notch. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

We visited while in town for vacation. The Rangers were nice with any information we wanted. We took a couple of small hikes, but about halfway down the road after paying at the entrance, the road was closed... too bad 😏

Awesome place to visit. If you come in the summer bring bug spray to walk turtle mound, or any other hiking. The beach has TONS od shells!!

Our family greatly appreciates and values the National Parks and the variety of parks within the system. We have family in central Florida and always enjoy visiting the coast. When I learned that Canaveral National Seashore had a visitor’s center at Apollo Beach, I knew we had to visit. We were greeted by gopher tortoises upon our entrance into the park. We stopped at the overlook on the right and were overwhelmed by the beauty. We saw several species of butterflies, many orb weaver spiders (what the Seek app identified as a golden silk spider), and some beautiful flowers. The view of Mosquito Lagoon and the Atlantic from the highest point is incredible. The staff in the visitor center is fantastic. We always enjoy getting our cancellation stamp for the passport books. We spent a good bit of time exploring the visitor center and noticed a storm coming in. We went out to the dock behind the visitor center on Mosquito Lagoon and watched it move closer. We started towards the beach and saw even more gopher tortoises but the rain was pouring, so we never made it to the beach. We definitely want to come back and look into possibility of canoeing. I wanted to get a picture of the sign at the entrance but it was pouring so we missed it. We’ll get it next time.
