Excellent Italian food on the Hill. Service was great. The Alfredo was not greasy and the cream was not too heavy, which I like. I had the angel hair pasta with Italian sausage. I prefer to sit outside if it's nice out, it's quieter.

Absolutely the best of the best. Food was fantastic, service was great! Polite, informative and patient. We are most certainly going back.

Best Italian Restaurant on the Hill by far in my opinion. The scumptous Potato Gnocchi is so delicious and never changed in all these years. Staff us warm and welcoming to the customers as they walk in the Restaurant. Waiters & Waitresses are the best, always on top of everything you need or want, they will go above and beyond to make sure you're experience is fabulous. Prices are reasonable to evey place on the Hill. Another good item is the appetizer Eggplant Parmesan. I tried their Chocolate Martini, kudos to the bartender as it was so good. We always leave with leftovers too, but ne I order some Gnocchi to take home too haha. It was my birthday dinner, so they brought out a dessert with cake, ice cream and whipped cream, lordy it was filling and a nice end to dinner. Please support locally-owned restaurants to keep them in our communities.

After a long day at the St Louis zoo we were able to get a reservation at the last minute. We had a charming dinner of house salad, pizza with fresh tomatoes, beef medallion and the appetizer with thin beef slices and fresh mozzarella and a cannoli to top it off. The red wine and pierroni on tap were perfect and the limoncello was a nice touch to end the meal. We love trying all the places on the Hill and always have a lovely time.

A great experience Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. My steak and sprouts were perfect and he loved his seafood pasta. The drinks were strong. Definitely recommend making a reservation as the place was filling up quickly for dinner.

Food was excellent!! The ossobuco is a must try. Very tender!! I am picky on my risotto and i absolutely love this. The manhattan I had was made very well. The salads were ice cold, kinda different with pistachios. Service was incredibly fast. Everything was flavorful.

If you are looking for a great dinner with amazing service, I highly recommend Lorenzo's. Started the meal with fried calamari and an order of scallops. Received hot from the kitchen. Our table ordered a variety of menu items. Hands down the best house salad around. Chicken asparagus risotto, angel hair pasta, pizza and the seafood special were all received exactly as ordered. Everything was hot and freshly made. We ended our meal with a variety of Gelato. If you are looking for great dining experience, try Lorenzo's. You will not be disappointed.

A strong experience with delicious dishes around the table that did not break the bank. Parking is entirely off street, but free. The dining room is a beautifully appointed Italian that's fitting of The Hill. White table clothes and candies on each table. Although our server was very nice we unfortunately had a slow down of attention toward the end. Possibly due to we were not drinking, but it was noticeable. Although we got an initial follow up and one round water refill our water was gone through most of our dinner. I regret the review is tardy and I cannot recall the pasta special I got, I enjoyed. Others had lasagna, pizza and spaghetti with meatballs. The portion sizes were more than adequate and came with bread. I would return and recommend reservations on Open Table. 4 plus, rounding down with slight service slow down.

This was my first time trying Lorenzo's and was pleasantly surprised. The service was top notch, with really attentive wait staff. My partner and I did not have many needs but we were sat next to a table of elders who did, and it was touching to see how well they were treated. The fettuccine Alfredo was nice and creamy, a very generous portion that I had to toss in a to go box at the end of the night (reheated well btw). The Arancini was not my favorite, as the rice taste almost like instant rice. As for ambiance, it was a classic Italian vibe!

A group of seven had dinner there on Sunday night. We had an elderly person with us who prefers dining earlier so we had made a reservation for 5:30. We were greeted and led to a table right away. The hostess helped us get my MIL seated and stored her walker for us. We were at a round table, which I prefer for that sized group. Our server came over and introduced herself and asked for drink orders. She was great and provided good service throughout our meal. We all enjoyed our food! The timing of each course was perfect. I only took a photo of my food, but everyone's entrees looked delicious! There seemed to be quite a bit of seating there and it was full. There were people waiting for tables as we left. I would recommend a reservation! We'd definitely go back!

Absolutely another great place on "The Hill"! Family owned and good is fresh, portions are very generous and taste and quality is what you expect when you go to a real Italian family restaurant. Antonio was absolutely amazing and took great care of us and his recommendation on the house salad was great! Amazing salad and he had the chef make me chicken parm which is NOT on the menu but is my staple meal! The cannolis were outstanding as well! Full bar! Definitely a must hit place!

Both time so far I've had a good experience here. They have been able to accommodate us, once inside and once outside on a great weather night. Service was great, quick and attentive. I enjoyed the seafood pasta with a light wine sauce and good amount of seafood (it's a bit fishy so keep that in mind). Their patio is covered which is always great for those "is it going to rain?" Or "dang it's so sunny" days. The inside is cozy, with dim lights and warm ambiance. Why 4 stars? Some is the dishes came out on the cool side for my liking, and the bruschetta was "loaded" but made the bread soft. But to be fair everyone at the table was happy with their food so definitely keep this place in mind for a great Italian meal.

The reason for that three star is due to the different flavors of what was Avery clear Northern Italian cuisine as well as the food coming out a bit cold. The service was absolutely amazing, it was just understanding that the flavors are mush more different than what we expected for Italian food. I do want to try this again, but go in with different expectations for the food and flavors. I really enjoyed the bread and the Caesar salad but my family wasn't a huge fan of the salad.

I met up with a couple of girlfriends at Lorenzo's to catch up on a Friday night and had a great time. All the staff were friendly and checked in often. We all got salads and pastas and split a bottle of wine. There wasn't anything amazing about the food but it was good and we all left full with leftovers. With all the restaurants in The Hill neighborhood, this one stood out for the service.

Visiting from Kansas City and had to try food on the Hill. We had a great experience.

Lorenzo's does provide great service when you are needing to host a small group. I have been here on work outings previously but my most recent experience was for a friend's surprise birthday dinner. They reserved a small room that was just perfect. Our waitress was great. She was mindful of our coordination with the arrival of the birthday girl while still trying to make sure we all had placed beverage orders. There were 11 of us in total. Orders were all correct and delivered to table in a timely manner. Many of us started with the house salad which I like. I then enjoyed the seafood pasta although my shrimp were over cooked everything else was great. Portions are large so a few of us needed take away boxes. They had 2 specials that evening which I cannot recall other than one was meat and one was swordfish. Sorry about that. Good wine selection with beer and spirits available as well.

Osso Bucco was outstanding! Plenty to take home. The fish special was very fresh and cooked to perfection. Wait staff charming and quick. Sat outside on a beautiful evening sipping martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives.

One of our favorite spots in St Louis to spend time with my family and friends. The pasta is very good. There's nothing in the menu less than awesome .

Great place on the hill. Great menu great service what amazing people they have working there and the food is fresh and delicious. Went out for date night for a special occasion and they didn't disappoint. Got seated quickly the servers were very attentive and nice! The wine was very good. We got two different dishes and both were great.

Waiter was so rude. We decided to leave after appetizers and go across the street for dinner.

The food here is excellent. We got the arancini and goat cheese ravioli to share and those were flavourful and tasty! I got their specialty "surf and turf' which was a rib eye steak with grilled shrimp on top with asparagus and potatoes on the side. I've never had potatoes like they made it, they were so interesting looking and tasted different from potatoes I've had before, very good though! The steak was the highlight, very tender, cooked perfectly medium, and enough seasoning to bring out the taste of the steak. The asparagus were good too! I loved how homey the restaurant felt and the waiters were all so nice and patient and kind. Everything was served promptly.

I can't say enough about the food and the service. This place is absolutely amazing. I had the chicken spedini and it was delicious. We all shared the tiramisu, crème brûlée, and the bread pudding. They were all so amazing.

We had a reservation for 8 on Father's Day. Making the reservation was a breeze and staff were very friendly. The food came out incredibly fast and was delicious. As a vegetarian, there weren't too many options for me but the spaghetti was flavorful and probably the best I've had in St. Louis. Will be back!

Everything at Lorenzo's is special. This Italian gem on the Hill consistently turns out authentic northern Italian recipes. It's our 'go to' around the Christmas holidays, and I would say the perfect blend of white tablecloth restaurant and a place with a family feel. You are greeted at the door immediately, and our party took a seat on the bench in the wait area while our table was prepared (we were early for our reservations). Once seated, the service was top notch, and we were not rushed as we ordered drinks, sampled appetizers and enjoyed our entrees. I saw that gluten-free pasta was offered and was pleased that it tasted great. Chicken spedini never disappointments. Veal Milanese is light and also loved the grilled shrimp appetizer. A big hit was the polenta served as a side to one of the fish dishes. It was grilled and quite tasty! Highly recommend for any special occasion. Parking is on the street but I've never had trouble getting a spot on the Hill.

Each Christmas season I visit St. Louis we go to Lorenzo's! We went recently on Christmas Eve and it was fantastic. I know there are a lot of great Italian restaurants on The Hill, but this is a good favorite, esp for northern italian dishes. It was packed, but the service moved fast!! Like I was shocked how quickly the kitchen was turning around dishes. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. For appetizers we got the calamari and the grilled shrimp scampi. My favorite was the calamari- it had zucchini and spinach with a tomato saffron sauce. The Grilled shrimp scampi was good, but a different take on it than one would think. It wasn't garlic and buttery, but had white bean spread, arugula, peppers etc. We also got a fish soup (special) and Caesar Salad. Caesar salad had parmesan crisps underneath- great flavor!! The main dishes we got were the Sea Bass (special), Chicken Spedini, Grilled Barramundi, and the Potato Gnocchi. I tried all of them, which were good. Star of the show: Chicken Spedini - chicken breast breaded and stuffed with spinach and a flavorful pasta on the bottom with asparagus. Highly recommend!!! For dessert, we spilt a creme brulee and espresso martini, which were both excellent!! Great pairing. As always we will be back here. Overall experience 5/5.

This 1/2-Italians first experience on The Hill. Loved the very walkable / safe neighborhood with so much character and local, no-chain options! Probably a good choice that my friends picked a northern Italian spot since I tend to be more critical of southern Italian restaurants since my (wonderful cook) Italian mother was from the Rome area. Tried the polenta appetizer, Bibb salad and potato gnocchi. All three were excellent! While the gnocchi was good--both well cooked and soft / pillowy--I did find the cheesy sauce to be a bit overwhelming due to the size of the entree. Also I'm used to gnocchi being rolled after it's cut and while it probably didn't change the taste much since the sauce had no problems clinging to it, I just felt like I was missing that step. Probably from all the years watching mom do that when she made hers. The luganiga (pork sausage) in the sauce was delicious! I also learned of Volpi salami (whose store was closed by the time we got there) from being on the Bibb salad. But from looking at their website apparently I can find their products at select 7-11's, Walgreens, Sprouts, Sam's Clubs, Trader Joe's and Tom Thumbs back in Texas. I'll definitely be tracking that down once I get back! I would have preferred the crusty Italian bread to the soft white bread that we were provided with, but I understand that may be a northern Italian thing? Service from Jen and her team was beyond fantastic! When they had what seemed like five+ people bring out our entrées very quickly there was no doubt we were being served freshly made items that didn't sit under heat lamps as one server tried to deliver all six! Ambiance was perfectly fine. A bit bright, newish and "tan" looking which did not give the feel that "it's been there forever". Food ordered (sorry no photos, was too busy enjoying the meal to even think about it!): POLENTA Creamy herbed polenta with mushrooms, Italian sausage and truffle oil BIBB SALAD with Volpi salami, mortadella, parmesan croutons, red onions and sweet vidalia onion dressing POTATO GNOCCHI House-made with luganiga and arugula in gorgonzola, fontina and parmesan sauce

We had the absolute best experience here last Saturday. Being that it was the weekend before Christmas and VERY busy and we didn't have a reservation, I had set the bar relatively low for this experience. We were immediately impressed by the hostess who had a table for us right away. My husband and I were quickly seated and our waiter Irvin came and took our drink order. He recommended a delicious entree with a pasta that wasn't on the menu. Everyone was prompt, water was always full, food was hot and delicious. The busses was kind and on top of his job. I was just incredibly impressed with the experience! In a world of sub par restaurant experiences and overpriced meals, we had an above average experience with fantastic food and excellent service. Make sure to check out Lorenzo's, you will not be disappointed!!

I was looking for a spot to have dinner with a friend on a Friday, and Lorenzo's had a opening, so we figured we'd give it a try! Overall, it was a good experience, but not one of my favorite local spots. Food: we shared a bruschetta and had a pasta dish each. The bruschetta was amazing! The pastas were good but not particularly memorable. There was also bread for the table, which I thought to be pretty average. Service: really efficient, no complaints! Ambiance: the inside of the restaurant was okay, but felt a bit like Olive Garden.

Lorenzo Trattoria is one place I tried at the Hill. I came with high expectations. It is more casual than I expected. Service is okay -- Not fantastic and a little slow. I tried the Calf's liver ($30). The flavor of the balsamic reduction sauce is really good, but it's a bit heavier or chewy than expected. Portions are huge. It is alright -- Not exactly my cup of tea.

Overall great but with a couple of downsides. Pros: - The service was excellent. Dot, our waitress, was absolutely awesome. We came here on the day where there was a bicycle race which restricted parking in an already crowded parking environment. We were a bit grouchy having to walk a half mile in, but Dot put us at ease. They need to give her a raise. She is a major reason why we will be back. - Food was great. I lived in Italy for almost 3 years. The veal risotto reminded me of the risottos I had there. The polenta with sausage was excellent as well. I am not an Italian sausage guy, but this was very good. I would like them to try a version with crispy pancetta instead of sausage. The eggplant Parmesan was also very good. Only drawback there was I wanted a bit more tomato sauce. My Dad had the veal Milanese which was very good. It was a bit different from other types I have had in that there was a heavier breading on the meat, but it was still something I would get. Cons: - We made a reservation during a community event that we did not know about. We would have appreciated if the staff would have warned us about it, as parking is already at a premium in "The Hill" area of St Louis. We would have booked a different day. This is a bad on the owners. We also heard staff having issues getting to work that day. This cost them a star in my rating. - The seat padding needs to be replaced. We will be back.

First, I really like the ambience of the restaurant. It was slightly dim, with candlelight and white tablecloth. There's just enough tables in the main eating area. Everyone was enjoying themselves throughout the room, a lot of talking and chatting and laughing, but you can still hear everyone at your table without them hearing you. Firstly, we were brought wonderful Italian bread with unfrozen butter. Unfrozen being the key. We ordered the beef toasted ravioli, which was a special appetizer that evening. The sauce was red, and tasted beautiful. It really tasted like fresh tomatoes. The toasted raviolis were slightly smaller than I had hoped, but the four of us got three each and that was nice. I ordered a side house salad. It had wonderful, toasted pistachios, and a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. That was wonderful. For my main entree I ordered the Grilled Beef Tenderloin Medallions. Perfectly cooked, atop a bed of garlic mashed potatoes with a wonderful red wine reduction sauce, with asparagus. It was rich, heart and awesome! The asparagus needed another 2-3 minutes on the grill. For dessert we went with the Chocolate Mousse Cake, adorned with fresh strawberries. Again, it was fantastic. We had a great meal.

Northern Italian Cuisine on The Hill! Chef Brad Burns coined the Mozart of Meatballs, the Beethoven of Breadsticks, the Sultan of Steak, Papa of Pasta, and the Duke of Dessert. Lorenzo's on the Hill in St. Louis is a Northern Italian cuisine standout. The diverse menu, accommodating various tastes and dietary needs, ensures a fantastic culinary experience. From the exquisite shrimp scampi to the flavorful shrimp risotto, each dish was flavorful and beautifully presented. Despite our fullness, the tempting dessert options were unfortunately left unexplored. Perhaps a reason to go back. Check them out!

Service was great, we had no reservations and it was Valentines Day. Was able to get seated with no problems,was there when opened, Food is also Great. Seafood pasta was fantastic, chicken Alfredo was also fantastic, tons of very tender chicken. This is now one of our favorite restaurants on the Hill. Thanks

This is an excellent special occasion restaurant. It has a low lighting ambiance with candles on the table.the food and service is good- they had a "plethora" of servers so we did not have to wait for anything. Also, we were not rushed through our meal.drinks were good, food was good, and service was excellent. Their prices are reflected in the excellent service and food. We had a person with special dietary needs, and they were able to accommodate without any issues.

Excellent and authentic food using the freshest ingredients. It's rare to get a salad that crunches when ordering for delivery. Highly recommended!

Came here on a Sunday night with two friends. We were able to find street parking nearby. The place was busy, but we were still able to be seated immediately. The interior is dimly lit at night for a more romantic atmosphere, but overall, the vibe of the place is not overly fancy. Our server was kind. The complimentary bread is pretty average and comes with butter. I ordered the potato gnocchi and enjoyed it, though it did not stand out to me. The texture was more like a lump of dough than a buttery ball that melts in your mouth. Additionally, I found the sauce to be on the saltier end. However, I do think that the ingredient profile of the dish overall was fantastic, making it delicious to consume nevertheless. I'm not sure that I would come here frequently, as the place does not necessarily stand out to me, but I wouldn't be disappointed to eat here either.

Lorenzo's is outstanding. This might be the best Italian in the hill. The veal picatta was truly the best picatta sauce I have ever had- absolutely divine! The goat cheese ravioli comes in a similar sauce and is a must try as well as the fettuccine Alfredo. I know it's a basic dish, but it's made incredibly well! This place did not disappoint!

Our anniversary dinner - we had calamari, two different pastas (so good), free bread as the appetizer aside from the calamari, and dessert! I loved it. It's romantic and fairly priced. Would go again.

In town for a conference and was told told that Italian food was a must. Lorenzo's was absolutely amazing! We were able to get a table without a reservation and our waitress, Jennifer along with Pablo, provided excellent service. She provided us with the specials for the day and shared her personal recommendations. We shared the fried ravioli as an appetizer and I went with the seafood pasta for my entree, both were delicious! For dessert, we got the Black Forest cheesecake and the dulce de leche gelato to share. The gelato had a nice buttery finish that was perfect! If I'm ever back in the area, I'd def be returning

I dined here with my family recently and it was a memorable experience for sure. I'm sorry to say that I did not enjoy any of the dishes I tasted (arancini, angel hair pasta and the potato gnocchi), but I was more so put off by the service. Our server (Chris, perhaps) has a nonchalant/apathetic schtick that made us uncomfortable. I felt like we were getting bullied by this man. I'm not looking for silver spoon treatment, but I didn't feel he was pleasant or accommodating at all. I learned here that it's important to me that the staff thanks me for coming in (leave you wanting to come back) and this server just set the bill on the table. Some people find this charming as I could see from other tables, but I will not be back after this experience.

The Hill usually does not disappoint and Lorenzo's was in that category. Really nice and comfortable interior. You feel like you are dining at someone's home. The meal was great as was the service. We had calamari and it was cooked perfectly. Entrees were the usual Italian fare with some fish and beef dishes. The bolognese was great, salads were fresh and tasty. No lasagna here but that's okay because you need to try other things! Head here for great Italian food.

The food is delicious, the ambience is family friendly but still very nice and the service is great. Been there Twice on visits to St Louis. Will definitely go back.

I was so appalled to be asked to leave because they needed our table. We were waiting for a to go dessert order as well as service was slow all night. The food was good but come on. We were 7 people and were drinking spending $$$. Shame on you Lorenzo. Will not go back or recommend. Thank you. UPDATE: The next day (today) the owner called and offered an extreme apology and was first class all the way. Please note... the food was delicious and never an issue. Thank you for your kindness Lorenzo.

The ambiance was great, and so was our service. We both ordered an Old Fashioned, which was twice the size of some other places. The Bibb salad was also vast and delicious. We split the polenta with sausage and mushrooms, which could have been an entree. My entree was the Seafood pasta. It wasn't my favorite style, but it was good.

The smells coming from the kitchen, I knew we were in for a great time. While my date was looking over the wine selection Jim our server recommended a red that was fantastic. With mussels to share to start are dinner experience. My date ordered the Braised Ossobuco with saffron risotto and orange gremolata. That risotto was delicious! I had the halibut special with yukon potatoes and carrots shavings. I will say we couldn't stop eating off the others plate. Way to go Chefs! Denise came and swiftly cleared our table just in time for us to order dessert. We had the the crème brûlée and with the last sips of our red enjoying such an amazing dinner experience. Thanks to everyone, we will be back.

After a long drive into town, my wife found Lorenzo's online. We were so happy with the food and the service. I believe the spaghetti bolognese was the best I've ever had. The staff were friendly and the food was hot & fresh.

We would recommend Lorenzo's. Clean, friendly staff, and really good food. We had a party of 5 and everyone enjoyed their meal.

We went on a Friday, early at 5pm because we have two elementary age kids, the staff were wonderful, excellent service. The food was very good and true to their Northern Italian cuisine style. The kitchen accommodated our request to split an adult entree for our children because they don't eat from the "kids menu" often. We also were pleased with a simple scoop of ice cream that was off menu. This location is not as busy as other locations on The Hill, but needs more hype! Its a great place, highly recommend! For 3 entrees, fountain drink, and 1 dessert, we came in under $100, so had to be generous with the tip which was well deserved!

What a fantastic Sunday dinner we had at Lorenzo's! I can't believe that was our first time. If you haven't been then you definitely need to give this restaurant a try. We had a 6pm reservation, were well-received and seated on a 4-person table. Lorenzo's is a Northern Italian restaurant on the Hill with a bright, clean and spacious interior, full bar, fantastic service and equally mouthwatering menu items that will leave you wanting more! We started our Sunday evening dinner with some goat cheese ravioli in tomato basil pancetta broth. Pieces of freshly chopped tomatoes and red onions swam freely in the broth and added to the magnificent flavors of our appetizer. Next, I enjoyed a generous portion of Caesar salad and a tomato mozzarella salad for him. I loved their version of the tomato mozzarella salad as it included a generous sprinkling of capers and chopped olives. To die for! Well, capers are to die for anyway! I ate a portion of his salad after I expressed how much I love tomato mozzarella salads. The red wine vinaigrette dressing had the perfect amount of tanginess to compliment the flavor of the capers. For my main dish, I ordered a veal picatta served over portabella mushrooms, sundried tomatoes, papparedelle, and spinach and it was divine! I could eat this dish 3 times a week which is very unlike me since I don't eat anything twice a week. I was full and did not finish my meal but I wanted dessert, of course! I ordered the traditional tiramisu and ate the whole thing. I have a mixed feeling of pride and embarrassment when admitting this but their tiramisu is THAT GOOD! I was rather tempted to try their ricotta cheesecake but the tiramisu won and I'm glad it did. Everything about tonight's dinner was great and I will definitely be back!

Great place for dinner on the Hill. And one of the few places in that area that is open on a Sunday evening. Having grown up in St Louis, a visit to the Hill is like a step back to my childhood - I cut my teeth on Italian food at the legendary Ruggeri's where Joe Garagiola's brother Mickey was our favorite waiter. Lorenzo's reminds me of that place - several dining rooms and a nice bar area. And like Ruggeri's, this is not casual Italian. Just very nicely appointed dining rooms, white table cloths, but not overly stuffy/formal. Friendly service from a considerably younger than Ruggeri's wait staff. Delicious Italian bread and butter before dinner--wish they had some olive oil with balsamic and cheese on the table to go with it. We were not terribly hungry so we split everything - Arancini, salad, and a pizza. The Arancinis were the size of softballs - nice and brown and crunch on the outside, creamy arborio and cheese and sausage on the inside. Served with a nice, fresh tomato sauce. Highly recommend the Bibb salad with some salami and a nice Vidalia onion dressing. Glad we split it because the half salad was plenty before our pizza. As opposed to ordering one of the pizzas on the menu, we had a sausage and pepperoni pizza with caramelized onion. If you go expecting thin crust St. Louis pizza, you'll be disappointed. This was more of a New York style with a thicker charred crust at the outer edges, and more thin and foldable toward the interior. Loaded with crumbled Italian sausage and the caramelized onion added a nice, sweet touch. We enjoyed our experience, especially since there were few other options on a Sunday evening in the area.

3, maybe 3-1/2. We were hungry! We got the appetizer special, like an eggplant fritter, that didn't taste much like eggplant plus the calamari and a Caesar salad. For entrees, I got the Italian sausage pizza. My kids got the potato gnocchi and the fish special. Everything was good, not great. We also got dessert: tiramisu and the bread pudding. Also good. Nothing outstanding but good. Service was good, too. Our waters were always filled and empty plates were quickly taken from the table. The interior is nothing too fancy so you don't really have to dress up. We likely won't be back. There's too many Italian places to try in St. Louis.

It was good but not excellent. Seemed like staff was in a hurry for us to eat and leave so the next customers could sit.

The service can't be beat. You can't go wrong here whether it's pasta or an entree. Nice wine list. Great place.,
