Back Alfio's buon cibo I dined here for my fiance's birthday, and it was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. I came in especially excited to try the desserts, but everything we had ended up being great. From the moment we sat down, we were greeted by the loveliest server. Unfortunately, I forgot her name, but she was upbeat, attentive, and genuinely kind. It's not every day you get service this good, and she really elevated the entire evening. We started with cocktails, I ordered one that was a blueberry lemon martini. I mentioned to her that I love sweet cocktails, and she assured me she could make it sweeter if I wanted. When she did, it was perfect! For our appetizer, we tried the empanadas. My favorites were the spinach & cheese and the pork, while my fiancé really enjoyed the beef since he doesn't eat pork. They were fresh, flavorful, and a great way to start the meal. For entrées, I had the pistachio salmon, which I absolutely loved. My fiance ordered the duck breast with potatoes, but we didn't realize until it arrived that the dish actually included pork. He cannot eat pork at all, and although I felt embarrassed pointing it out, our server handled the situation with so much grace. She immediately offered to switch the dish, free of charge, and brought us the gnocchi with ribs instead. That turned out to be incredible, the ribs were tender and full of flavor, one of the best surprises of the night. Dessert was another highlight. They surprised us with a complimentary birthday cake, which tasted very much like a tres leches cake (even though this is an Italian/ Argentinian restaurant). It was delicious, moist, and full of flavor, so good that I also ordered the tiramisu to take home. The atmosphere was lively but comfortable. The restaurant was packed, yet it never felt overcrowded or uncomfortably loud. You could hear your table clearly, even with the buzz of conversations all around. Overall, this has become one of my new favorite

Spectacular! This was our first time here and we can for our anniversary. Devon our server recommended the Tasting menu so we took his suggestion and it did not disappoint. Everything was flavorful and extremely well done. The service was top notch as well. We highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!

Our first time visiting Cincinnati and we had the best experience at Alfio’s. It’s a beautiful place, in a nice area and the food was amazing. Our sever Ali was so informative and knew the menu and drinks inside out. She helped us select and also gave us tips where to go shopping in the city. She made our experience so special, and memorable. She even surprised my husband with a cake for his birthday. Also Matt was amazing and made sure we were happy. Highly recommend this restaurant as a must visit if your in town.

So I go to a lot of places in Cincinnati to try out the restaurant the food the atmosphere in the service and when I tell you they have everything everything was amazing Lenore my server was awesome she explained all the dishes to me and she was very informative and compassionate about food allergies . I was able to try the six course tasting menu everything was awesome from start to finish. Small portions but very fulfilling. I left very full and very satisfied. Matt was very patient and very helpful he suggested an Irish coffee with my creme brulee at the end which was perfect. hats off to the chef I did not get to meet but the food was outstanding I mean Beyond 10 out of 10 I cannot say enough positive and good absolutely no negatives about this place I will definitely be back very soon I appreciate all of the warmth, invitingness and kindness that all the rest of the staff contribute to the Great service overall thank you so much

Some of the best food I've had in Cincinnati, and a wonderful spot to celebrate a special occassion. Our server Allie was attentive, and all of the staff were gracious and informed. We loved hearing the little tidbits they shared about the menu (like the butter is made in house, and the pesto is nut free). My husband had the duck breast which was cooked to perfection, and I tried the goat cheese pesto with scallops. We both agreed the empanadas were a highlight of the meal, with the Korean BBQ being the stand out. Don't skip these! Sommelier are on staff to help with wine pairings and offer suggestions. If you're in the mood, the espresso martini is delicious. Not overly sweet, and a great way to end the night. Highly recommend! We will be back.

Last night my husband and I had dinner at Alfio’s with my bil and his wife and it was an unforgettable dining experience. This Italian-Argentinian gem effortlessly blends the best of both culinary worlds. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a cozy vibe. Our table opted for the tasting menu—a six-course journey of beautifully crafted dishes, each one perfectly portioned and bursting with flavor. Every plate was a work of art, both visually and in taste. Our server, Tyler, guided us through each course with thoughtful explanations and insight into the culinary techniques behind them. Meanwhile, Sully, the sommelier, was an absolute gem, sharing what made each wine unique and how it elevated the food alongside it. The tasting menu revolves weekly and I don’t think you can go wrong with this option. Overall, the experience was just lovely. I can’t wait to return and try more of their mouthwatering dishes!

This place was amazing. The staff was excellent, our server was on point and the beef ribs were tender and Gnocchi were little pillows of flavor. 7/26/2025 - another fantastic visit for my birthday. Food and drinks were on point as always. Alfio and his staff work hard and are talented, it shows. Thanks for the great time as always.

Lenoir was our amazing server. So sweet and had great recommendations. The ambiance is very romantic. Dark and candle-lit. The bartenders were awesome and made my partner a mocktail on the spot that complimented his skirt steak meal! The empanadas were delicious and one of our favorite parts of the meal, especially the Korean bbq. The skirt steak was cooked well and the wedge fries were crispy and buttery. Very thick cut but still good. The chimi churri was light but nice. Ordered two pastas: 1. The agnolitti was good. A smoked flavor with the sauce and squash and the short rib was perfect. 2. The veal short rib was ok. The sauce was delicious but the meat was a bit tough and not my favorite. The caramel tiramisu was good but more like a chocolate cake than tiramisu. I am a classic tiramisu gal so I would not order this again. Overall it was a great experience. This was our second time here, but the first was a NYE menu - which was also delicious. We will be returning for sure!

Had a lovely dinner here on a weekday night. The tables were spaced well to allow for intimate conversations. The decor was chic, and the servers and front-of-the-house staff were very friendly. Started dinner with their infamous Empanada Cuarto, which included one each: spiced beef, Korean bbq, spinach & cheese, and chicken carnitas elote. While I loved them all, the last one was my favorite. These were followed by a Poached Pear and Fig salad with honey truffle vinaigrette, which was very large and very tasty. Our table chose two pastas to share, which came in a unique yoked serving platter: Angus & Five cheese and Veal Short Rib. The latter was made with creamy white truffle sauce. My entree was the Seafood a la Goat Cheese Pesto, which was tasty but a rather strange name as it was simply 3 scallops on a mound of pesto pasta. It was good but on the salty side, so if you need to watch your intake of salt, I would pass on this one. In reviewing the name of this entree on their menu, I see that it should have included Alaskan lump crab meat, which it did not. Wish I had noticed that when dining..... Had the Tiramisu for dessert which was a refreshing way to end the night. 5 stars for food and dining experience, but removing one star for the missing crab meat.

Four little words could describe our experience at Alfio's. They are "dark", "noisy", and "bad food". The best thing about our experience was going to Graeter's afterwards to try to get the taste out of our mouths. The food was so salty, and the smoked Bolognese tasted like an entire jar of Liquid Smoke had been poured onto the dish. The wine pour was the smallest I've seen in any restaurant yet. It was a scant 4 ounces at best. We split two dishes and they wanted to charge us a splitting fee of $10. When we sounded perturbed, the waiter said he would take care of the charge. Bad business.

Great Food and great service! Pasta choose two was very good. We got the 4 cheese and short rib one. My lamb chops were cooked perfectly. My son's short ribs were excellent. My wife got a seafood dish and liked it. The dessert was great and my son got one for his birthday. My wife and I shared a salad and it hit the spot.

One of my favorite dining experiences year to date. We started out with some cocktails at the bar with a very friend bartender. Drinks were made very well. Dinner kicked off with some different empanadas with one of them being wild boar. All yummy. We also had the mussels. They were fantastic. As for dinner, I had the special of the day which was a Chilean sea bass over risotto. One of most flavorful dishes over risotto I ever had. It was great. Wine selection was good too. The on-site sommelier was great. She recommended some good wine. Overall staff was awesome we especially Cam. Highly recommend.

I was visiting friends in Cincinnati on a Friday night and dinner plans was a last minute thought. Alfio's buon chibo just happened to have an opening for 815 on OpenTable and Italian/Argentinian sounded fantastic to all of us and Hyde Park Square was only a 15 min drive away! Also, after previewing the menu, the chimichurri made me tap "Book Now". The restaurant was loud, in a good way, like a big family party (not like a party full of obnoxious hipsters-I was recently in a very loud restaurant, in a bad way, in Hyde Park/Tampa, Florida). Alfio's was warm and inviting, the red colored walls, dim lighting and everyone felt local. There was a bar and the restaurant space was like a rectangle, extending toward the back. We were seated in the back near a corner of wine bottles. My 2 eating partners were local and it was their first time dining in. But they had sampled their tasty empanadas at a Taste of Cincinnati festival, which made them add Alfio's to their list of restaurants to try. The hostess was lovely, and we had Alli? as our waitress & a sommelier who helped us pick wines. We tried one of the Argentinian wines not on the menu, a Trapiche Malbec. And a Barbarossa. Our waitress was the best - so friendly, took the time to explain all the dishes, never felt rushed and had a beautiful sincere smile. I felt she really enjoyed working there. There was a tasting menu (which had lamb and duck-my partners were trying to observe no meat Fridays, which failed in the end), a Specials Menu, and a booklet for the wine list. We started with the Empanadas Quatro, Funghetti, and 2 appetizers from the Specials Menu-lobster deviled eggs and lamb arancinis (4 pieces). We tried to cut the empanadas in threes, for us all to sample (we should have gotten a 2nd order); I was able to try the spiced beef or korean bbq? And it was tasty! My partners loved the spinach/cheese and corn? The Funghetti has no mushrooms (which was why I wanted to try it) but its name comes from the mushroom cap shaped pasta! It was still delicious- bits of butternut squash, sausage?, chimichurri sauce. It was my fav app. The deviled eggs were good, nothing special. Lamb arancinis were served hot and crispy with a white sauce smear - each ball a perfect 2-3 biter. We shared the flame grilled halved romaine Caesar-delicious dressing with big chunks of shaved parmesan (oh and crunchy tasty croutons!) My partners got the Choose Two pastas. Agnolotti (very rich/heavy w/ the gouda and short rib) & mushroom ravioli (wonderful). Gnocchi (definitely tasted smoky) & i don't remember his 2nd pick. I was torn between the skirt steak (the chimichurri was sparking my curious tastebuds) and the Halibut from the Specials Menu (which they say rotates often). I went with the skirt steak and it was my favorite dish of all. It was recommended to be served "medium". It was served on top of grilled Asparagus and large Yukon steak fries. My 2 dining partners sampled the steak and both loved it too. The generous amount of chimichurri sauce drizzled on top of the steak = perfection. We took the potatoes home for a future air fry snack bc they were delicious too! It was my belated bday dinner and our waitress gifted us a carrot cake with goat cheese frosting- little bundt shape and moist. Perfect for sharing. But we also tried the limoncello creme brulee which was a nice palate cleanser, not too heavy/light, creamy & lemony. Looking forward to coming back and trying the tasting menu and basically everything else! And I cannot compliment the service staff enough - incredibly attentive, sincere and friendly.

Conor sold us on the tasting menu and we were not disappointed. The meal was exceptional from beginning to end. The interior was clean and inviting. The vibe was "fancy" without being pretentious. The service was attentive and friendly.

Probably the best restaurant I've ever been to. The chef puts his all into the plate and you can taste the passion in all the food here. Ally took great care of us and made it such a great experience for my wedding anniversary. Ps. Do the chefs tasting.

Alfio's had some great dishes, but the service felt very slow. The servers were nice and knowledgeable about the menu. The price of the dishes were a bit high for what you're getting. The ambiance was great and a good date night spot. I got the angus 5 cheese and agnolotti pasta. The agnolotti only had about 2 pieces of the pasta. The duck bacon fettuccine could've been better, it was nothing special. The appetizers I think were the best part of the meal. We got the scallops, fried zucchini and empanadas cuatro.

What a truly memorable meal. The staff was wonderful and the food delicious. The cuisine is fresh and innovative. Can't wait until next time.

Made reservations here for my wife's birthday while we going to be in Cincy for the weekend. We are both fans of Italian & Argentine food & the reviews had us excited to come here for weeks leading up to our visit. We came in at 8 on a Thursday & it was very busy but we were seated immediately & my wife was told happy birthday by the hostess & our wait staff. We started with the espresso martini which I have to say was very good. I've never had one with such a substantial foam as this. It was like a foamy pudding top & the mix was great. Then we had the Caprese & the empanadas Quattro (plus the wagyu special for the night) so there was 5 of them. Having had empanadas in Argentina in the deep Andes & the cities I thought I had eaten the best out there but let me tell you these were the exceptional. I can't even pick a favorite because they were so good. Maine were the gnocchi & ravioli & duck bacon fettuccine. We were honestly so full at this point we couldn't finish it. It was great the next day for leftovers. Nicole was an excellent server & was very patient & helpful with us. She gave my wife a to go dessert for her birthday. Great food, excellent service, & wonderful atmosphere. Don't hesitate to dine here!

Wow. It had been a long time since I had been in for a meal at Alfio's. Exceeded expectations with every dish. I was a bit surprised to find that there weren't tables available without a reservation on a Tuesday when most restaurants are either mostly empty or closed. After the meal, I totally understand why. Based on the meal I just had there, I'd put Alfio's in my top 5 restaurants in Cincinnati. More than just a casual dinner, Alfio's is special enough for the biggest celebration, but the menu is flexible enough for an upscale small bites meal on a Tuesday. One of the few places that I consistently find something new to try on the beer list, and for you wine afficianados, the wine list is excellent.

Leann our server knocked it out of the park. We split zucchini app so good. Split the pear salad and it was perfect Bread was served and it was really good. Husband had the goat cheese pesto pasta and loved it. I had the zucchini seafood pasta and it was amazing.

One if not the best restaurants in Cincinnati and our favorite Italian restaurant. My wife and I have been coming here for years to celebrate special occasions or just a random Thursday. The Short Rib Gnocchi might be the best thing on the menu with fall off the bone short rib, but honestly, it's all delicious. We also enjoy the arancini and the empanadas as starters and the tiramisu for dessert. If you're into espresso martinis, it's also one of the best in the city. You can't go wrong here, everything is delicious and the service is fantastic.

This was our first visit and to celebrate our 51st wedding anniversary. The place is cozy yet not too small. We were seated right away and our server, Ally, was a delight. She was prompt and attentive as well as very well informed of the menu items. Ally asked if we were celebrating a special occasion and brought 2 flutes of champagne, compliments of the house. Considering we were there on a Saturday and the restaurant was quite busy our food came out in a reasonable time. My wife's house made cream of mushroom soup, the soup of the day, was delicious. She also had the pasta duo of veal short rib and wild mushroom. Again she said it was delicious. My flame grilled Caesar salad was an interesting presentation as well as quite enjoyable. The 10 ounce skirt steak was cooked to my preference, rare rare, and was superb. I enjoyed the grilled asparagus and the steak fries were cooked perfectly. Ally checked with us several times but not to the annoyance level. All brought a small chocolate bundt cake to share for dessert as a freebie. We shared the tiramisu and that was also delicious. All of the food is prepared in-house except their limited baking space means they buy their breads. I can say nothing negative about the food or service and the atmosphere is great as well. Ally was a wonderful server. Certainly worth the 1/2 hour drive from our home.

My wife and I went for her birthday; did the chef's tasting menu with wine pairings and were not disappointed. Each dish was mindfully crafted but not over the top, well-balanced, interesting, and genuinely enjoyable. The wine pairings were lovely and each meal and pairing came with sommelier explanation and background. The corner booth seating was a bit odd for a date night, but understandably improvised given how busy the restaurant was.

Greeting immediately upon arrival and being seated is extremely helpful. Scully our server was spot on excellent from the moment we were seated. We began with the fried zucchini perfectly cooked with a marinara sauce My partner had the seafood with the pasta. I had a pheasant special with risotto. The most succulent , juicy and delicious combination of flavors and for dessert Tiramisu Amazing delicious and Scully was exceptional with details and service

I absolutely love this place! It was one of the best dining EXPERIENCES that I've had in a while, and I'll give most of the credit to the sommelier. We ordered the tasting menu with wine pairing, but to spice it up a bit we got one of the cheap wine pairs ($60) and one the expensive pairs ($100) so we could see if we could tell the difference. The sommelier would also switch them up on us, it was almost like a game and we had so much fun doing it. They said they switch up the tasting menu, so I am super excited to try this out again!

The food was top notch. Service 10/10. We had the short rib and skirt steak and it was super! Desert was great also. We were there for our anniversary and they gave us champagne on the house and an extra desert. One of the best meals I've had in years!

The food here was amazing. You really can't go wrong. I didn't get a picture of everything since it was gone before we knew it lol. We started off with some cocktails and then we split the muscles zucchini, and empanadas for appetizers. For our first course we did salads and pasta. For our main (which is not pictured) I got the pistachio crusted salmon which was very good. We also really enjoyed the Bolognese, which had a nice smoky flavor to it. The chicken Parmesan was a very large portion. The only thing we didn't absolutely love was the seafood pasta wasn't a big fan of the flavors.

This is by far my favorite restaurant in cincinnati. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. The tasting menu for the evening is hand picked by the chef himself, and if you pair it with wine it is delightful. All the flavors burst in your mouth and are unique but also comforting. This is my third time coming and we just touched a few options off the menu but even those are just as wonderful as the tasting menus. They have a wine connoisseur on staff to provide recommendations and the waitress also knew the menu like the back of her hand. At any time of the day you will get the best atmosphere and welcoming pace to enjoy the best meal in cincinnati.

We, a party of four, dropped in at Alfio's Buon Cibo: Italian Argentine Cuisine for a marvelous dinner. Alfio's is set on Hyde Park Square where the Cincinnati elite and young urban professionals congregate. Because it is right on the popular square parking can be an issue. We of course had made reservation at this high end restaurant well in advance. We found the restaurant to be comfortable and attractive. Despite it's upscale nature and higher than average prices we did not find it stuffy or pretentious in any way. Everyone was very respectful and pleasant. The service was quite outstanding in every respect. Our particular waiter had an amazing acquaintance with the menu and made many helpful suggestions. I notice that at least one reviewer complained about the noise level. We had no problem with noise. I will say that the inside is pretty dark and it was a bit difficult to read the menu. Our excellent waiter noticed this and brought a small light to our table to help us in this regard. Alfio's menu is well rounded, pricey, and in some ways exotic. While this is a top notch restaurant I will say that it is not a "perfect" restaurant: where would we find this? Here is how I will break the evening down. Ambiance....comfortable and attractive. Wine and cocktails very good. Service...outstanding, among the best. Atmosphere...pleasant. Food, let's talk about the food...pro's and con's. We started our meal with the Empanadas Cuatro and some special croquettes with multiple dipping sauces. These were all really great! Delicious. Rate them an "A+." The main course of Lamb Chops with white truffle mashed potatoes with caramelized Brussel sprouts and mint chimichurri was excellent. Rate it an "A." I ordered a salad ala carte which was a stalk of romaine lettuce supposedly lightly grilled with shaved parmesan cheese over it. Not only was this not worth the additional cost but it was a failure of design. I was so disappointed in this so-called salad, especially with the thick shavings of parmesan cheese which made it seem as if I were chewing pieces of tasteless plastic. Alfio's really needs to rethink this. Rate it a "D" for poor, certainly not something you want to pay for. The Veal Short Rib Stuffed Ravioli with a creamy white truffle marsala sauce was good but not great. Rate it a "B." The Gnocchi Bolognese also had the shaved parmesan cheese that tastes like plastic, otherwise it was fairly good with a tasty sauce. Rate it a "B+." The Smoked Chilean Sea Bass over a tasty, spicy risotto was very good. Rate it a "B+." The member of our party who had the Seafood Zucchini Pasta with sauteed shrimp and pan seared scallops said it was very good and rated it an "A-." For dessert the Apple Bread Pudding with apple butter sauce and a praline crumble was heavenly. Rate it an "A+." All in all, Alfio's is a nice, yet fairly expensive restaurant, with a very creative menu and generally delicious food. The service is outstanding but they need to revisit a few food items. The food is not uniformly outstanding. But, rate the overall dining experience Five Stars. We had a most enjoyable evening.

I don't know why I haven't been here before. Wow! One of the best meals I've ever had in Cincinnati. The service was top notch and made us feel so welcome and special. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and were served complementary champagne and a dessert in addition to the one we ordered. Various staff came by to wish us happy anniversary. The stars of the show were the Korean BBQ empanada and the short rib ravioli. I can't stop thinking about that creamy marsala sauce with the ravioli. If you're celebrating a special occasion - this is your place!

What a hidden gem! We had never heard of Alfio's before we noticed their menu for restaurant week and then saw all the positive reviews on Yelp. We had a delicious meal in a cozy and relaxed environment. The cocktails were very good; the old fashion was a personal favorite. Bonus point for the personalized ice cube with Alfio's name in it! We started our meal with the empanadas cuatro. It wasn't an easy choice because they were all so good, but I would say the spinach and cheese was my favorite. For dinner, I had the ravioli duo which was fantastic! Very rich, but oh so good! At the end of our meal, our table shared the apple bread pudding, which was one of the best bread puddings I've ever had. The meal and entire experience at Alfio's was the best we've had in a long time. We will be back!

We had the perfect dinner here for my birthday last night. We did the 6 course tasting menu with wine pairings and it was all so amazing! They even let me switch out the filet for a lamb chop instead as I'm not a steak eater. Highly recommend the tasting menu!

How many times have I walked by and not noticed this place? Too many. But we attended a birthday party here last night, and I loved everything about this place! I even woke up this morning thinking about it... It's very cute inside, long and narrow. And very nicely put together. Fine dining behind a "blended in" facade. Service was excellent throughout the evening. Some of the party had appetizers and salads, and we all shared. Possibly the best Caprise Salad I ever had! And a perfect size to share. Actually, I would say everything was big enough to share. My date had a duo of ravoli...shortrib and mushroom, and it was oh so good. I had Chicken Parm and it was hugh...I have several meals more in my refrig and I can't wait to dig into that. But the star of the show was dessert...a Chocolate Cake with cherries and a whipped cream icing. Two of us couldn't finish one piece, and I just assumed the birthday couple had provided the cake to the restaurant, but no...apparently it's their signature here. That cake alone will get me a return trip. Actually, everything from the wine thru cake would get me back. I may have a new favorite place. It's located right in the center of Hyde Park Square, and there's a parking lot in the back. It's rare I get this excited about a dinner, but in this case it's a given. Cannot wait to return...again and again. And now I know to share!!!

We did the tasting menu and it was absolutely fantastic. The service, ambience, and food were all to notch. Our server Cam was next level. One of my top two favorite restaurants in the city.

A wonderful classy Italian place with great quality in everything they do! Price w/ Tip $80 | Rating 9/10 Pros: Quality, creativity, flavorful, any occasion. Cons: Group over 6 not advised. For a friends birthday they decided to try this place near Hyde Park! We arrived on time (others were late) and were seated promptly. Our server had been here 8 year, knew all the details, matched our younger slightly chaotic energy, and kept the water and bread topped off. The interior is classy but not pretentious so if fits well for any occasion or style from casual to more formal. The food and drinks are all made in house and curated by the chef and it shows. Pasta and all flavors involved were perfect. For the first time I had a well cooked salmon at a restaurant and pistachio crust with the butternut squash puree base was INSPIRED! Even the drinks were a home run although slightly small imo. The biggest perks were the little things like ability of the location to fit out groups chaotic style, but also the other more patrons, the free and steady bread, and the general fun. I do recommend this location!

Still the best "fancy" place in the neighborhood. We popped in on a Tuesday without a reservation and luckily they had a cancellation and we got a high top in the bar. Sully was our server and he was fantastic. He basically ordered for us and everything was so good. We had two empanadas, bread, the scallop appetizer and the duo pastas. I'd order it all again, just fantastic. They have the best, most unique beer choices in the city. Not a big offering, but a diverse one. We'll be back for sure!

This is my new favorite restaurant in Cincy! Better than all the ones that you've heard of. It maintains that personal feel. Alfio is the chef/owner and really cares about his food and customers experience. It was hubs bday. We ordered the 6-course chef tasting menu. At $180 for 2, it's is an insane deal. We also did the wine pairing which is 6 wines to go w the 6 courses. We were told the tasting menu changes weekly. Alfio himself came out at the end of dinner and it was so fun to meet him and ask some q's about his inspo. Our server and the som were both very timely, friendly and knowledgeable. My fave course was a lamb chop & duck breast combo paired with Gorgonzola potatoes. The carrot spiced soup has originally sounded like the least appealing course, but it was amazing - thick, creamy, and just the right amount of spice. There was a lobster in puff pastry dish w a little bisque-like sauce on that was out of this world and the lobster was cooked perfectly. Decor was casual enough to make you comfortable. Noise level was medium. Could have a convo fairly easily. And the stemware for the wine was v nice. I hate when a good wine is served in stemware where the rim is too thick. So that's always an important touch. Cant wait to go back and get the tasting menu again.

We had an AMAZING meal! Handmade pasta (you can taste the difference), delicious dishes, a cozy atmosphere with a refined flare, and excellent service! We drove in from Columbus (1 1/2 hours away) to celebrate my partners bday. Even had booked reservations 3 months out to make sure we could try this place out as it was highly recommended. It exceeded any expectations and was a wonderful dining experience! Alfio's Buon Cibo is located on the Hyde Park Square in Cincinnati. Parking was a bit challenging but we found app meter parking on the street a couple blocks away and walked down. For our meal we started with an appetizer: ~Gnocchi ($19) - lump crab, Pacific NW chanterelles, gnocchi, and cream sauce Our salads: ~Grilled Caesar Salad ($12) - romaine lettuce caesar dressing, croutons, and parmesan ~Beet & Goat Cheese Salad ($13) - fried goat, marinated beets, apple, onion, arugula, and a raspberry dijon dressing The dinner: ~Short Rib Ravioli ($30) - veal short rib stuffed, truffle, mushroom, and a creamy marsala ~Smoked Bolognese ($27) - fettuccine, smoked beef (ground) bolognese, and parmesan And desserts: ~Mediterranean Olive Oil Cake - raspberry icing, pistachio, white chocolate ~Chocolate Moda Antica Cake - bourbon soaked orange & amarena, triple chocolate orange & brown sugar cream icing ~Goat Cheese Cheesecake - whipped goat cheese, brown sugar graham cracker, raspberry coulis Absolutely everything was good! The homemade pastas were amazing and we enjoyed the flavors of each dish. I loved the Gnocchi, Beat Salad, and the Bolognese. We splurged a bit this meal with wine and all the courses. We even ordered two desserts and was treated to one more for the birthday. Wonderful staff across the board and such a lovely atmosphere. It was a perfect evening and perfect restaurant to for our celebration! If you have not eaten here yet you are missing out! It was totally worth the drive from Cbus and if you are in Cincy it is a must!

As usual the food was very good. Unfortunately two issues compromised the experience. Our table was at the front of the restaurant and it was very cold and drafty plus the drapes could not control the glare from the sun. I would never sit there again. While our waiter was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, the time between courses and the wait for the check were excessive. We will return, hopefully without the issues we experienced this time.

Went last night for the first time and was not disappointed. Meal and service were amazing. Great wine selection. Fun atmosphere. Our server Peyton was super.

As a birthday gift, my son treated me to dinner at Alfio's Buon Cibo. What an incredible experience! Our server, Sully, was so personable and helpful. We started with the best darn scallops I have ever had! Delicious. After salads, I had the sea bass "Catch of the Day" which was phenomenal. I am a big sea bass fan and this may be the best sea bass I have ever had. The piece was so thick but so juicy...mouthwatering. My son enjoyed the lamb chops with mashed potatoes. We each enjoyed a dessert- the chocolate tort was my favorite. The dining experience here was second to none. I can't wait to return.

Incredible food, wonderful service, and relaxing environment. You cannot go wrong with any food choice here. We have been several times and the server always makes us feel welcome and comfortable. This is our favorite anniversary and birthday celebration spot.

Have eaten here a couple of times now and have to say it can't get much better than this. Dined here tonight for my girlfriend and my anniversary and had a wonderful experience. Tyler was our server and he did an impeccable job. He guided us through every menu and made excellent recommendations. The food and drinks were amazing as always. We will definitely be back for more!!!

Alfio's is incredible! It's the perfect place to go for a birthday, anniversary, or other celebratory dinner. The wait staff was so helpful and knowledgeable, especially Sarah! You HAVE to try the empanadas-- they're divine. Great atmosphere, great food, definitely worth the price.

TLDR: We got played. I will start this review off by saying that as a former frequent patron, Alfio's has great food and great atmosphere. The 1-star, however, is for lack of professionalism and extremely poor customer service. Alfio's held a Valentine's Day giveaway contest (screen shot attached) to which I worked really hard to make my entry (a reel featuring date night at Alfio's). In short, they never followed up, never did what they said they'd do. I sent them a very polite, private DM asking if I'd maybe missed the announcement (which I know I didn't because I'd been checking back frequently to see who won). Next thing I know, their IG post has been deleted. It doesn't even matter to me that I did not win, it's the fact that they didn't even follow up on it which makes it seem like they just wanted free marketing AND to boost their sales during Valentine's Day week since one of the criteria of the giveaway was that you had to visit. There are multiple layers to this but those are the biggest. To not even acknowledge my message and then delete your giveaway post on Instagram because I messaged you? (it's still on their Facebook, by the way, which it looks like they forgot to delete). Screen shot attached. That's really scummy and unprofessional, bad business. We've been loyal, frequent patrons of Alfio's for quite some time now but this honestly really rubs us the wrong way. We will be taking our date nights elsewhere.

Absolutely amazing! This was probably the best dining experience I've had in Cincinnati. We went for a birthday and it couldn't have been better. The host heard us talking about the espresso martinis and had one made for right when we sat down (which was amazing). The restaurant was cozy but vibrant with energy. Our table tried several dishes but every was phenomenal. A must get is the empanadas and the braised shot rib, but I'm positive anything on the menu is outstanding. 10/10 must try in Cincinnati.

Great service from Justin at the bar for dinner. So excited that they had great mocktails with NA spirits like this NA Aperol Spritz. Seafood risotto special was so good too.

We had never heard of Alfio's but the restaurant week menu looked good, so we decided to check it out and boy, are we glad we did! The restaurant is really pretty and has an upscale, but not stuffy vibe. Our server was top notch-he gave us a lot of recommendations and was personable but still very professional. Because the server did such a good job suggesting menu items, two out of three of us decided not to order off the restaurant week menu and instead got items from their every day menu. Everything we got was plated well and absolutely delicious. From their special menu, I had a salad with gorgonzola and figs to start with, then a braised short rib pasta with butternut squash and smoked gouda. It was amazing but very rich. Also ordered at our table was the pistachio crusted salmon, the empanadas, ravioli and the bread pudding, which my daughter decided was the best thing she has eaten in a long time. The only thing we did not care much for was their pumpkin spice semifreddo, which was just around the restaurant week. Restaurant Week did it's thing! It introduced us to an establishment we had never heard of and now will definitely go again in the future.

A great evening at Alfio's! We had a large party and our server was extremely attentive and knew the menu very well. He made great recommendations, pairings, and was very personable. The food was good. I had the chicken Parmesan which was a large portion that was easily shareable. The short rib gnocchi was a favorite at the table and the empanadas were a must-try. Finally - one of the best espresso martinis I've ever had! Definitely another must try at Alfio's.

We celebrated my sweet daughters birthday. What a wonderful restaurant. Everything is so fresh and delicious. Our waiter was a delight and I am mad at myself for not getting his name I ordered the duo ravioli short rib and wild mushroom. It was so delicious and rich and I was so full but so happy. Everyone loved their meal even my 92 year old mother who got the strawberry and fried goat cheese salad

I highly recommend Alfio's for a fabulous meal. It was a totally wonderful dining experience! I was celebrating my birthday. The evening started with a printed special menu with a "Happy Birthday to me" on the top. The chef, Alfio, signed my menu after we ordered. We had a lovely Prosecco recommended by our server Sully. The goat cheese and fig bruschetta was a perfect starter. Our main courses were outstanding. I had a stuffed pasta served over their amazing short ribs as recommended by Sully. Both my adult children had a perfectly done salmon dish. For the final highlight of the meal, the staff brought me the decadent chocolate caramel tiramisu with a candle. We will be back soon!

Food was good, but way over priced! We have come there many times before and it was not as expensive as our last visit. No prices on menu and bottled water (2types) were put on our table, served and charged for. Waitress opened 2 bottles without asking and we were charged for them. Total of 4 bottles. We never drank two of them fyi. Extremely loud! Patrons at bar were very well served and it showed. This use to be our favorite place, but something has changed. Between prices and noise level, it will be a long time before we come back.

Alfios is an amazing combination of Argentinian and Italian food. Outstanding service , awesome ambiance . Make sure to try the empanadas they are amazing.

Absolutely divine meal!! We came here in recommendation of a friend and we're so happy they shared this place with us. We had a 6:30 reservation and I had 6pm in my head, so we showed up really early but they sat us right away with no question! Service was extremely friendly but not overbearing. We told her it was our first time and she made sure to highlight her favorite dishes and crowd favorites. I loved how accommodating they were to vegetarian options. She said most all of their pastas could be made vegetarian, which opened up so many more options for me! I got the butternut squash agnolotti and it was out of this world. My husband got the short rib and it just melted off the bone. We ordered the bruschetta appetizer and it was maybe too much arugula, but delish. The salads are also amazing! So many yummy options that I wish we could have sampled them all. Save room for dessert because they are also amazing. The break pudding and tiramisu are to die for. The ambiance is perfect for a fancy date night or celebration. It's tucked back and dark, but not too dark. Comfy seats make staying there for a while really easy. It's expensive, but completely worth the splurge for a nice night out!
