Parrillada El Alemán

Loved eating here. The half portion with fries deal is excellent and the fries are hand cut and fried (delish). Waitress was lovely (thanks Natalia!) and suggested some things. For the daring try Molleja and for the sweets lovers try the Manjar del cielo

I wanted to love this place. The service was great but the Parilla was not. The decor is epic.

It became famous thanks to the Anthony Bourdain show but if you are looking for a good place to have BBQ please go somewhere else. I went there a few days back and everything was reheated food, even the fries.

You have a seating area both inside and outside and tables are always available. The Asado (barberqued meat) is not the best of all Montevideo but truly a great place for meat lovers. Do not expect high quality hamburgers and fries. The burgers here are offered with oven baked bread and burnt fries. Come here for meat. That's what they are better at preparing.

If you're looking for the typical Uruguayan neighborhood (BBQ) parrillada, this is the place. Ask for a " brasero" this is a sampler of Uruguayan BBQ, beef(different cuts), chorizo, blood sausage, kidney, tripe, provolone cheese,a whole assortment of BBQ goodies. Food was delicious, abundant, not expensive, but there's no AC, and not even a fan.

Primera vez que fui. Por fuera el lugar no impresiona demasiado, y por dentro tampoco, pero es cómodo para una cena sin mucha planificación. La comida me pareció bien. Estaba rica, pero no diría que era particularmente deliciosa (creo que a mí me quedan mejor los chorizos hechos en casa). Nos atendieron bien. La moza se presentó y fue muy amable porque pensó que éramos extranjeros (solo mi acompañante lo era). De todas formas, la atención fue buena y la comida vino rápido, aunque luego tuvimos que esperar un buen rato para que nos cobraran. En general, todo el personal del lugar es muy amable y te dan una cálida bienvenida cuando entrás. Da la sensación de que realmente les gusta que hayas ido, lo cual da una muy buena impresión. Es probable que vuelva alguna vez si ando cerca. La pasé bien y comí bien. Nada wow, pero bien. Y muchas veces “bien” es más que suficiente.

Parrilla exquisita, se come muy bien pero no dan un buen servicio. Si vas, anda con tiempo, ya que hay una moza para afuera y otra para adentro, si vas un fin de semana anda con paciencia, a nosotros nos tuvieron más de 20 min esperando que limpiaran una mesa. Demoran mucho en atenderte y más en traerte la comida. Se olvidan o se confunden las cosas, entendible porque es una sola persona para todas las mesas que hay.
