Food was very good I ordered the sweet and sour chicken plate with house fried rice and it comes with an egg roll. The portions are huge and for the price this is definitely a place to try! I will be back to try other things on the menu. The staff was great as well

Got combination diced chicken and shrimp and got mostly rice. Very disappointed for a $14.66 with tip. Maybe I got the wrong thing…foods good so I may just try something else in the future. Update: thank you for the feedback back. Last night I was tired and didn’t go through the whole tray, but man yall really do pack these trays; saw a lot more shrimp this morning 😃 I definitely will be going back. Can’t wait to try more!

Great place. Have had food here twice now. General Tso Chicken. Taste good. PLUS BONUS both times....not sure if always like this but order of 2 came with like 8 cookies! I love fortune cookies!! I try to stay healthy and not eat out but I will be back some time ! Thank you

@June.2025 I ordered No.70 Moo Goo Gai Pan, small size. It comes with Jasmine rice. It was very tasty. I especially liked the chicken, it was probably poached beforehand, and tender. They say it’s small size but it was not very small to me, was just perfect for one meal for me. Stuffs were nice too. The paper bag was soaked with juice out of tray and the bottom was broken when I was walking. I almost wasted the food. You might want a plastic bag.

Food was excellent!! Generous portions very flavorful. I had Happy Family and the meat servings were outstanding. My husband had sesame chicken fried rice and egg roll. Egg rolls are Huge!!

My friend picked us up dinner. She got the spicy shrimp and broccoli with Lo mein and I got the sesame chicken with fried rice. The lo mein, Shrimp and Chicken were all good. The rice was hard and needed to be cooked longer. They came with Egg rolls which were both delicious.

This is place is heaven for a vegan, many of the dishes do not contain animal products besides the meat. Replace that with tofu, and you have a delicious variety of options to choose from, from black bean tofu to sesame/orange tofu. They even have vegan-friendly spring rolls in addition to their normal pork egg rolls.

Absolutely outstanding! The service was friendly, fast, and attentive from start to finish. The Chinese food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked—easily some of the best I’ve ever had. A true 5-star experience

I always get the Singapore noodles and I have to say it is the best around!!!! Also, for as busy a place as this is, their service is quick for a cook to order takeout place! Love it!

This is one of the best Chinese American spots I've ever been to - Greensboro is very lucky to have them, along with Golden Dragon, which has been serving great take out since the 60's - started by Der Hong Hanson, a native of China and a graduate of Greensboro Senior High. But to this restaurant - begun in 1998 and still in control of the same family. It is primarily take out, though inside seating is available. This place gets busy and it is best to call in your order, park a bit away, and plunge in. I have ordered from here often, probably 25 times or more. In fact, we would plan out our Super Bowl meal, and we would go Chinese American much more often than wings. We would order certain items from here, certain from Golden Dragon ( Chicken Wings, Pepper Steak, and Pork Fried Rice) and some from China Express (Black Pepper Chicken) Here we would go with Shrimp Egg Rolls, Pork Fried Rice, and Vegetable Lo Mein. Not a single dish would disappoint. I ordered those three plus Crispy Scallion Chicken, and that knocked it out of the park again. Their Crispy Scallion is the very best I've had.

Golden Wok is a solid choice for Chinese-American food, but the prices are a bit steeper than average for the area. I got sesame chicken, vegetable lo mein, and an egg roll. It came out to $17, which is pretty steep for takeout, but could be worth it for superb quality. Unfortunately, my meal simply was not "superb." It was good, but not much different than other local places. The sesame chicken was good, no complaints, but not something I would pay a premium price for. There are simply other places that serve the exact same thing, at a much lower price. The egg roll was very good, very large, perfectly filled, but very greasy. I would order it again. The lo mein, on the other hand, tasted flat and dull, and I actually added salt to it when I got home. With the added salt, it was delicious, but again, nothing particularly special. Whats more, I expect takeout food, particularly Chinese-American food, to come adequately salted. Umami is the name of the game, and between soy sauce and MSG, I shouldn't have to doctor my food up when I get it. When we ordered, it was pretty crowded inside, and they quoted us 17 minutes. However, they're pretty speedy, and the food came out in around 10. All in all, I'm not upset about the experience by any stretch, but this won't be replacing my regular place.

We got dinner here last night, after reading all of the reviews and we were less than impressed. For one thing - the online ordering prices were significantly higher than if I would have called in or eaten there. My online price was $11 higher than what was on the store receipt. There's NO mention of the price differences online, and I only realized once they handed me my receipt and it was 46 versus 57. This seems very deceptive to me. The sesame chicken was bland, and we only received one container of rice for all of our meals to share. We ordered chicken chow main, and instead received an order of wet, unseasoned cabbage and plain chicken with fried noodles on the side. We were very disappointed especially considering all the positive reviews. We will not be returning for subpar food, and deceptive pricing practices.

Been coming to get Chinese takeout here for as long as I can remember. The guys running it has a a great process going and orders come out fast, ready, and correct. The nicest guys too and make sure you get what you want/need. Food has stayed good throughout the years and glad nothings really changed. Recommend.

Still as good as advertised. Always a solid option in the area for quick Chinese food. There's always a crowd in here, and rightfully so. I can usually get here around lunch time so get the special. Nice size portion that I always have leftovers to eat later. Prices are very reasonable. You have to get an order of the crab rations. Perfect compliment to your meal.

Had the best beef and broccoli I've ever had. The pan fried dumplings were also so delicious!

This is my go to place for takeout Chinese Food! The food is great, and the service is awesome!

This place is amazing! I go here quite often and the guy at the counter already knows my order lol. The food is always fresh and delicious! I always get the sesame tofu with the vegetable fried rice which isnt on the menu, but if you ask for it they'll know exactly what you're talking about! As a vegan this is super convenient for me! They also always play great music :)

This a visit based on a recent yelp review of Golden Wok. I order the Chow Mein to see what the complaint was. The poster had complained about it coming over rice. After trying the dish I understand the confusion. I had to do some research but yes, on the east coast it is not unheard of to have chow mein over rice. When the order was taken I was asked if I would like that with noodles. But wanted it as the poster had received. At first glance, a very white meal. Chicken, bok choy, onions celery and snow peas. The sauce was plenty for the dish and it was served with white rice. It was as described. A good dish. I personally would have liked it over the noodles as well but this is what I ordered. I got an egg roll (as always). Hand made egg rolls are hard to pass up. Of course I got the dumpling sauce to go with it. Great service and good as always.

The food is fantastic. I had house fried rice without chicken but with extra pork and additional eggs (extra charge). It was delicious and there the number of shrimp was generous. The pork egg roll was tasty, too, and they're larger than the average pork egg rolls at other restaurants, and fresher tasting. I took away one star because they offer an inferior "soy sauce" in those ugly little clear packets. I tried to tell the guy at the cashier and he had no clue. It's not even soy sauce...it's made of water, corn syrup and caramel color! There probably isn't a soybean within miles of the manufacturing plant where they make these awful things. So the message from Golden Wok is, "Here's your delicious food. Now enjoy it by drizzling it with water and corn syrup." They need to get some Kikkoman packets in there. For that reason, I'll always order takeout OR bring my own SOY sauce with me.

Everything about Golden Wok was GREAT. The cleanliness and friendly greeting when you walk in the door. The healthfulness in ordering what you want. The food was EXCEPTIONAL!! The conversation was lively, and the noise level was no louder than to be expected -- well actually a little quieter. I will give this place three more stars if it was a possibility. Sorry there's no picture but the food was too good not to dig in....

This is my go to for the absolute best Asian food in Greensboro. Even when I just want a little bite this place is perfect. Stopped in today after Christmas shopping and had an egg roll and some amazing wonton soup. The best in town. Don't just take my word. Try them.

Our first experience with Chinese take-out since moving to NC from New England. Had heard many discouraging comments on overall Chinese restaurants, but someone recommended Golden Wok and we thought we'd give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised. The wings were enormous and cooked perfectly, the beef in the fried rice was HUGE and so tender. Place was very clean and staff was efficient and very friendly. My only issue (and not really an issue) was the Shrimp and Lobster sauce. The shrimp were large and cooked perfectly, but this was not the Shrimp and Lobster sauce I am used to. The sauce is clear, more like an egg drop soup, but had PLENTY of shrimp and vegetables, with egg drop. We were skeptical at first, but it was really quite good! Also they don't have BBQ Ribs ON the bone, only boneless which I am not a fan of. I would recommend this place as I've heard so many discouraging comments about other places in the area. Give it a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Strip mall restaurant in a small space, with several eat-in tables. Many take out customers evident on multiple visits. The food here is excellent. Delicious lemon chicken, fantastic Chow May Fun curried noodle dish with chicken, shrimp, roasted pork. The Chinese cuisine here is as tasty as you will find anywhere.

I've had the food before and it's good overall, but the recent service experience was so poor I had to review. I ordered online in advance through yelp. Arrived 20 min later and it wasn't ready. It was crowded and I was fine waiting. I gave my full name and they continued to call names. I never left the establishment. 45 minutes in my husband goes back up and the bag was just sitting off to the side. I wasn't called. I had a neon shirt on and there was no communication. When she gave over the bag she just stared. Not a great experience.

My favorite place for egg drop soup. Now I finally purchased a meal - Crispy Scallion Chicken. It is delicious!!! I purchased it for dinner and there is plenty left for lunch and/or dinner tonight. It's the best Chinese food I had in 35yrs!!!!! I say try it if you are in the fence. The best in Gbo & Raleigh ! !!!!! The staff is awesome as well......

Ordered right on time. Hit! Hot! Hot! as in temp. Taste great and consistent each time I go. Wish they sold a small side of veggies just to add on to my meal.

This place has been a favorite for Chinese food in this area as long as I've been in Greensboro, since 1994. Family run and they will roll out the red carpet for you for sure. They will all remember your order, your name and how you like your food prepared, if any special requests. The food is always fresh and flavorful. The prices are very reasonable for what to get. My fave is the diced chicken and shrimp with broccoli and the general Tso's chicken. Just come in and see John or Eddie at the front and their hospitality and food will make you want to come back. The restaurant is clean and simple. Seating is good for a quick dinner or lunch. It can get quite busy so I prefer carry-out Check the hours as they do try and have a life outside the restaurant Treat yourself!

It's good. My first try with them last night I'd probably rare 3 stars but I'm granting that there would be a bit of a decline in quality from traveling a half hour home from work and sitting a bit. Good flavor, but I wouldn't say they're as good as Jade Garden, so that still has my lead. Solid though if you live closer by. Food was done quickly, even despite being dinner rush on a Friday. Food is packed in tin foil containers, so I'm not sure what that other reviewer is talking about with not being wasteful. Good egg rolls. Wish they still did shrimp toast and had chow fun with the thick noodles. Hard to find those around here. I'd get them again if I was gonna have locally, but otherwise I wouldn't call it my go-to spot.

I was in the plaza doing some shopping and decided to grab something in before calling it a night. As I departed from Ross, Golden Wok caught my eye so I decided to hear over! Before walking in, you could see the cleanliness of the restaurant from the outside. It's super bright with vibrant colors which adds to the curb appeal and draws you in. Upon arriving at the county I was immediately greeted and presented with a menu. As I figured out what I wanted, the aromas of fresh garlic and the sounds of rice being fried captured my attention and made me even more hungry. LoL!!! Deciding on the General Tso Chicken combo and substituting the Vegetable Fried Rice for Pork Fried Rice, I placed my order and took a seat, paid, and took a seat. As I was waiting for my food, I could tell it was going to be a good dish. People were in and out picking up their orders and you could tell by how they interacted with the cashier that they were repeat customers. This is always a good sign. Upon receiving my food I was once again captured by the aroma. This time it was the aromas of General Tso Chicken and a fresh out of the grease Pork Egg Roll!! Oh yeah... Let's Eat!!! Upon opening my tray the visual alone let me know this was going to be a good eat. LoL. The General Tso Chicken was perfectly made. Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The sauce has a perfect level of spice with a hint of sweet. I'm talking goooooooddddddddd. Truly a 10 out of 10. The Pork Fried Rice wasn't dry, had the perfect golden fried color and tender meaty chunks of pork. The Pork Egg Roll was packed full of fresh fixings and fried to golden egg roll perfection. I truly enjoyed my Golden Wok experience. If you're in the area and looking for something with great quality, great flavors, and filling... You must stop in.

The quality of the food is alright, seems clean, but if you're expecting to get your food on time you'll bee waiting! Both times I've been here they told me 15 mins. Both times I waited 45 mins to an hour. All I ordered was wings & rice. Second time I called it in, came in the store after waiting 20 mins, then waited another 35 mins b/c they never called my name out or put my food on the black cart where it should have been. Get outside & my food is barely warm.

Golden Wok is the only Chinese take out place where they're always busy, and that shows how consistently good the food is! I usually order on weekdays and grab their lunch special since it's really affordable and the wait wasn't too long, about 10-15mins. Their lunch special runs from 11-3pm Monday-Fridays and everything is under $10. Such a great deal! I ordered the general tso's chicken since I was craving something spicy. Oddly, it tasted like sesame chicken since it was on the sweeter side and I couldn't find any spice since it was missing the dry chili peppers. Nevertheless, I still ate the rest because it was still very good. My order was still fresh; Chicken had a nice slight crunch and the fried rice was great.

Best tasting Chinese food around. The food is fresh, crispy, and cooked to perfection. I don't mind driving 20+ minutes to eat here.

I was referred to the Golden Wok from a hotel and placed my order. To my surprise and pleasure it was very tasty. Will definitely order from there again when back in town.

Golden Wok is my go-to for Chinese in Greensboro and beyond. It is NY Style single page menu with options for everyone. Even if you don't see it on the menu, just ask - Eddie & John will take care of your dietary needs. You don't go here for the Formica seating and linoleum floors - but rather for the food - it's plentiful, fresh, and more than filling! Do not hesitate to order. Be sure to place your Christmas day order early if you are planning to make Golden Wok part of your holiday dining options!

WOW! Just WOW! Chinese used to be my favorite food. Then something happened along the way and it started to all taste the same: greasy, dried out, bad taste, stale/ old tasting, too much soy sauce to hide the not so fresh ingredients. The list goes on. This place tough! This place is amazing. The food is so fresh and delicious. It is actual flavor! Chicken and cashews: good poems of chicken, cashews, and some of the best fried rice! Great flavor! The carrots were a bit Al dente which I loved! Not soggy, over cooked crap. Looked like it was cut from a knife in their kitchen vs an old frozen bag of carrots or pre mixed rice. Veggie Lo Mein: not salty from excess soy sauce. My 2 yo loves noodles, but has hated Lo Mein from every place we've tried except this place. She loved the noodles which anyone with a toddler knows is nothing short of a hallelujah! Especially when entering the extra picky phase! The general Tso's also had great flavor. Sesame seeds added on accident, but the worker called it out and asked if that was okay (which it was for us). The egg rolls are huge and also felt fresh. They remind me a little bit of an imperial roll. Definitely a must get if you like egg rolls. The crab Rangoon: not greasy and had really good flavor. The wanton wrapper is a bit thicker than my personal preference (I prefer it lighter and flakier). Best Chinese food since I've lived in San Francisco!

Yes, yes with the Golden Wok hype! It certainly is worth 5 stars! Excellent, polite service. Clean environment. Reasonable prices and portions. Freshly cooked and yummy. I wish they were near me in DC or FL. I'd be a regular. Meanwhile, head on in!

First time trying here and like golden dragon in the Greensboro area. The food was really good. Staff was friendly, atmosphere is clean and the ambiance was nice. The pork lo mein & veggie fried rice is good and the egg roll was really good. I do recommend getting some good chinese take out for Greensboro

Just an update of a 5 star review! I ordered my usual-a mini buffet for family coming over! I'm telling you guys, I walked in about 20 after calling (needs a little more time on the weekends) and was third in line w no one behind me. By the time I got to the front paid and turned to walk out, there was a line to the door. Call ahead people!

Honestly, Golden Wok never disappoints. You get A LOT of food for minimal price and it taste great. Given how busy they are their service is good, I get my order quickly, and my order is always right. I would recommend getting a combination plate since it comes with a large egg roll and is enough for two people. If you're looking for a night in and craving take out Chinese food-this is the spot.

Since my first visit/review a month ago, I've been here once a week. My goal is to try new things every time I come. So far we've had the sesame chicken, crab Rangoon, (another) general tso, and tonight was chicken shrimp in garlic sauce with lo mein. 10/10 for everything, every time. My friend got chicken lo mein and said it was the best one she ever had. Consistently the best place. See you next week, thank you!

I've had Golden Wok pre pandemic and can say this place has changed dramatically since then. A recent visit had me realizing this place stands head and shoulders above the rest. I've had Chinese food on the West Coast many times and this compares to it. I can't say there's anything that original about the menu, you get a selection of all the typical take-out Chinese dishes, and they're done really, really well. It's not just chicken chop suey, it's DELICIOUS chicken chop suey. Their white rice is perfectly sticky and dense. For me, this place ruins all the other Chinese options in town. The beauty of all this - I'll have leftovers for dinner tomorrow as well. The large orders of dishes are epic.

Friendly cashier and staff! Stopped by for lunch and ordered off of the lunch menu roast pork Lo mein and chicken in garlic sauce both accompanied with veggie fried rice. Food was great. Veggies nice and fresh and oiled perfectly chicken was tender and fried rice not greasy-a plus. Pork lo mein full of roast pork and very tasty. Would definitely come again! My only complaint is the use of styrofoam cups and food containers. We did not order to go so it would have been nice to be served in a more earth friendly container! Otherwise pleased and will come again!

First time ordering here but I will be a repeat customer. The food was excellent. We ordered Sweet & Sour Chicken, Pepper Steak and House Soup. Everything was delicious! We ordered all large sizes as we like to have left overs to make another meal. OMG the portions are so large, it will easily make 3 meals. I wish I had taken pictures but I didn't - next time I will so you can see how much food you get.

I am doing a 2nd edit and changing to 5 stars. Earlier today they made an error. I was not happy with their response to the error. Since then, they reached out to me and apologized for the error and they requested the refund themselves. I did not have to call Grubhub. This is a sign of good customer service. Redeemed! Good job!

We decided on Chinese food for dinner. Nothing close is really very good so after reading the reviews on Yelp we gave this place a try. I must say I finally found it. A place that serves good Chinese food. The person who answered the phone was very polite. Even read my order back and asked if we wanted anything else. When we picked up they even reminded me to get the mustard and duck sauces. The food traveled nicely and was still hot when we got it home. We ordered the combination dinners. A General Tso chicken and a Spicy Hunan beef. We also got two spring rolls to try even though egg rolls came with the combos. Both dishes were outstanding. Both rolls were delicious. The combos had a little spice but not hot. Can't wait to try their other items especially the lo mein. I highly recommend this place.

Quality takeout at a great price. Super efficient ordering and pickup process. Easy parking. Nice packaging. It's not really a place I would dine in, but there are tables if you choose. I picked up takeout after work and drove home (about 45 minutes) and everything was still piping hot. The General Tsos is much more flavorful than most places, with a little spice. The chicken was perfectly crispy and the rice was great.

My second review, the food is amazing, I've order several different dishes and I'm never been disappointed. This establishment it's always crowded, the wait is not that long. I highly recommend the Golden Wok if you're looking for Chinese food within High Point Greensboro area.

I don't post reviews much but I really enjoyed my meal. I ordered a sweet and sour chicken meal with fried rice and an egg roll and this has been the best Chinese food I've had since moving down to North Carolina from New York. The egg roll was so crispy and full of flavor, didn't taste rotten liken every other place I've tried so far. The chicken and rice came plan with the sauce on the side and I loved that, kept the chicken crispy and rice fresh. I definitely will return and try something else soon. Also super friendly staff, seems to have a lot of regulars that come in and the staff knows their names and orders. This is just my experience. Thank you Golden Wok!

I have never eaten there, I've only done takeout. I will say they have great food and friendly service. Everything we have had has been good.

Our new favorite Chinese. Despite how busy the restaurant was, our food was ready quickly and it was hot, fresh, delicious and the portions were generous. The staff was friendly and helpful with our selections. The dining room was clean and the prices were fair. We will definitely be back soon!

Recently moved to Greensboro, NC asked coworkers where I could go for lunch. Golden Wok was recommended and did not disappoint. Fast friendly service good food.
