Montgomery Curb Market

5 stars because I'm new to the area and it's the only market that I've been able to locate with fresh fruit, vegetables, eggs, herbs, tea supplements, mushrooms, plants, hot foods, knick knacks, homemade jewelry, lip gloss/ deodorant, baked goods, and lots of other things! Plus everyone's welcoming and kind! Go out there and shop around (Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays)....and if you know of any more Farmers or Farmer's Markets...let me know- Please 🥺

It was nice. I got there thirty minutes before they closed so a lot of the vendors had left but I still was able to get my peas I've been wanting. Lady peas is one of my favorites. Purple hull. I also noticed they have lots canned camp stew, pickled everything. The prices were very reasonable. The people were very friendly.

I am glad that vendors are coming back now consistently as we adjust to the new normal. Since this place is only as good as the vendors that are present, there was a period of time when it was not as full as in years past. I had a great visit and was pleased to see many people enjoying the various booths.

Locals farmers market with organic produce and meat. There is also small local businesses selling homemade food/drinks. Really love the soap from Aunt bubble’s booth.

Fantastic market, great local fruit and vegetables. Great customer service. Protip: Find the " Lost Creek Herbs" table, they have a rare find that you will thank me for later. PAWPAW'S!!!!!!!!!! If you have never had this magical fruit, well you are in for a treat. Also see if they have any PawPaw ice cream left, it's pure heaven. When you stop by, tell them Cameron and Brooke said "hi". 🙏

The curb market itself has been in Montgomery for decades and I have never been. I took a moment to check it out and I do like the premise but noticed that on a rainy Saturday less than half of the vendors were present. A few vendors really stood out though like the Lavender Pig and the Gent selling loose tea. There was also baked goods and fresh fruits and vegetables. The building does seem to have a leaky roof so watch your step. I'm sure that during crop season it's hopping a little more, maybe also before the holiday season as I saw lots of empty booths with holiday decor

Great place to get your veggies, baked goods, spices, flowers and crafts. Love it here.

The concept is really nice. It’s similar to that of a flea market or swap o Rama but the options and quality was very limited. The location definitely could use some adjusting. My first impression is that I would not go back nor recommend to others. I definitely thought it would be better but it was nothing like any farmers market I’d ever been to. I’m guessing the weekends are not the best days to go like maybe all the farmers were absent because they prefer weekdays. I never saw so many turnips in my life. I was hoping to find some good fruit maybe it’s my own timing and it’s off season. In either case I’d rather come to a curb market or farmers market outdoors. The gloom and doom look and feel to this one just was not very user friendly. I didn’t feel the need to take photos but it’s in a decent spot but much like a lot of things in Montgomery poor zoning and planning.

Still going strong. Was worried covid would take it out. Open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, this downtown farmers market is always a treat. I hate I only have time to visit it during the summer. It's a inside farmers market so it's open well into the fall. I love buying fresh produce here. My last visit I bought a munch of okra for just $5! I also found out that my husband's cousin sells fresh loose leaf tea here. It's really good! You can also find sellers with ready made goods like cakes and canned products.

Got "lunch to go from" Debra's. Her chicken & dumplings are DELICIOUS. I would come back to the market just for her. Most of the marker is empty though so -1 Star. The other 4 are just for Debra. Delicious. She also takes cards so that's a huge plus.

I think this place is hit-or-miss. There's a lot of local foods and baked goods, but the farm offerings are of varying quality, particularly at the end of a season, so be sure to inspect before you buy! My recommendation is to make a full loop around before deciding what to buy from a given vendor. One vendor had buried a molding tomato at the bottom of the container of tomatoes I bought, so look closely! Also, it's not all local. For me, a key characteristic of local farm food is an absence of those annoying stickers you get with store-bought foods. And from my experience at other local farmer's markets, the stickers are not required for sale. So, when I see plums with stickers on them, and boxes of them stacked behind the counter, it looks an awful lot like Costco-sourced fruit being passed off as local. Just something to consider. Otherwise, there are a lot of stalls offering fresh-baked goods I have yet to try, and others with fresh stew you can eat there or take away. It's worth checking out, but it's certainly not the greatest farmer's market in the world.

NOT AS EXPECTED! If you are looking for a market that is similar to the Auburn Market in Atlanta or the Farmer's Market in Nashville, you are in the wrong place. I expected this to be a large market that carried a wide variety of products and restaurants. It was our intention to eat breakfast here because some of your best meals have come from Farmer's markets and they always have freshly prepared vegetables available. This market was very small and limited with a primary focus on baked goods and produce. They also had a selection of plants and the most beautiful ferns I have seen in a very long time. They were lush, healthy and flawless. If you like jarred condiments and sauces, you will also be able to purchase those items as well. As a general rule, when it comes to purchasing baked goods, I prefer to either bake my own or go directly to a bakery because I need to know that items are fresh and not prepared days ago. Be very careful because some of these baked items looked as if they had actually been purchased and repackaged. I remember being in a casual restaurant and asking the young man when the cake had been prepared, (it looked odd, like something that should have been refrigerated). He said that he did not know exactly but probably two or three days ago. Not acceptable! The watermelons were huge and beautiful but when it comes to watermelon I need to have samples provided or I need to have a known source. I am not inclined to pay $8 for a melon that I am not sure will be delicious. We didn't purchase anything because we are staying in a hotel and would only purchase items if we were on our way home so that they arrive in good condition. According to the sign, this market is open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 5am.

BRING CASH....Some vendors do take debit/credit cards but always best to bring cash...... This farmers market is open year round every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. I made the mistake by first coming here on a Tuesday in late April. There were only 5 stalls open and not really anything to look at or buy. I gave it another shot thinking Saturday's would be better and it defiantly was. They have quite a few vendors selling the same thing. They have wreaths, plants, cakes, jellies, texas and redneck caviar, chicken and rabbit meat, boiled peanuts, fresh eggs, along with your standard fruits and veggies. I picked up the most amazing Florida corn, tomatoes, red velvet cake and camp stew by Sue. Sue's cakes and camp stew are worth the visit. Her stall is facing Madison and has he picture on the label as well! I think this farmers market is a good basic market I'm just use to the markets in San Francisco and San Diego.

Historic market in the heart of Montgomery Downtown - under the roof, heated in winter, and not too bad in summer. Running three days a week from 6 am to 2 pm. Typically everyone shuts down after 1 pm. Best time to come is in the morning - if you want to make the most of your trip. Plenty of local produce to pick from, you just need to know where to go. Some do resale and repackage vegetable and fruit, but not everyone. South is tricky - not everything is growing well in the middle of summer. I recommend buying seasonally. Don't expect strawberries past June if you want local stuff. I highly recommend Eat South for seasonal fresh produce, Lost Creek Herbs for your herbal and medicinal needs, locally made goat and cow milk soaps at various booths. There is locally grown grass fed beef, kombucha, pork. Many vendors offer free range eggs of excellent quality - chicken and duck. Debra's Lunch-to-Go is excellent and has large following. Stop by Wild Yeast Kitchen to sample locally made artisan bread and croissants. Check out decorative plants and floral arrangements at any time of year, and much more. The market board of directors is constantly working on getting more vendors in to improve the variety of the offerings. The ball is in your court - vendors will only continue to sell if you continue your patronage - that's how local producers make their living.

This year-round, Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday farmers' type market is best visited on Saturdays, when the most vendors show up. I checked out a couple during a recent visit to Montgomery, and this is definitely the one to see in Montgomery. It has a good selection of produce but what makes a visit most worthwhile is the stalls selling various baked and locally prepared foods and goods. Definitely has the kind of southern region feel and offerings I'd hoped for. Everyone is quite friendly and there are some tasty offerings. I make a point of visiting the local farmers' markets in every city I visit so was glad to find this one, but would not say it was on a par with the best I've seen in San Francisco, NYC, St. Louis, Santa Fe, Chicago, L.A., etc. It did, however, meet my expectations and hopes for a smaller-town market.

Very friendly people selling very nice things! The indoor market has stalls with regulars selling at each stall. The sellers are all extremely warm and friendly. One lady sells cage free eggs for $3.50 a dozen. Two stalls on the western side of the building have excellent prices on vegetables! Cucumbers 3/$1 and bell peppers for 50cents. I get the impression that some of the sellers do not grow everything they sell themselves, but add their own crops to items that they ship in and sell. The crub market also has unique items like jewelry, wreaths, hot soups, baked goods, and locally made soap.
