Port Aransas Art Center

Great staff, welcoming and knowledgeable. I believe the entire staff are artists of different levels of accomplishment. The Center has a fair assortment of art from local artists. If you visit Port Aransas, the Art Center is well worth the time to have fun and view some great art pieces. The art is also for sale at reasonable prices.

The Art Center of Port Aransas is a beautifully curated gallery featuring local and international artists living in the area like myself 🤍 Most artwork is inspired in the natural surroundings of the area, you will find landscapes, birds, fish, and abstract pieces inspired in those subjects. Coming in the gallery makes a great day activity for all the family, kids will love to look at fun art, parents will love the amazing photography, and if your walls are all occupied, there is gorgeous wearable art, hand made one of a kind jewelry, statement pieces and other small souvenirs. Most of the artists volunteer at the gallery on a daily basis, so you may get lucky and meet some of us during your visit. We are happy to have you here, see you soon! 🎨🖼👩🏽‍🎨

I am an art junkie while vacationing and love to collect local art so I definitely did not pass this up. There was a very nice lady and gentleman running it, they were very nice letting me sit and sift even offering wine. I definitely spent more than I needed to but not as much as I could have because there were so many great pieces. I did notice that they had community art area so it is really cool they do classes because we like to support local. The small note card sized prints ended looking great in frames that we got from Hobby Lobby, it was 3 cards per frame with matting.

I attended their First Friday event in November, 2018. It was a nice occasion with a very good turnout. There was a lot of variety to see: paintings, sculpture, stained glass, jewelry, photography. I saw several pieces I really liked. There were snacks and drinks (wine, punch, and a mixed drink) and live music which was nice. I went with my friend and we both had a very nice time.

Breathtaking beautiful pieces! So many wonderful different mediums in this enchanting gallery, I couldn’t decide which one I liked the most. We were in a rush, so we couldn’t stay long. I can’t wait to go back and purchase some art! Thank you for being so friendly and welcoming! We loved this gallery!

The art was fantastic! I wanted to take so many pictures but they do not allow you to take pictures or video which I understand. It’s private art very beautiful place very well lit many beautiful pieces we wanted to buy the whole place!

Absolutely amazing!!! One of a kind art from local artists and you can purchase it all and take lessons as well! Friendly staff. I took my teenage granddaughter and her friend and they were amazed! Highly recommend this as part of your beach vacation!!!

Greeted by front desk lady upon arrival. She offered us wine. Probably best place in town to survey local artists work for purchase. Quiet. Personally would suggest leaving the kids behind for this outing

Seems like every community these days has a non profit " Art Center". I'm a strong advocate for all art all the time. On the surface it appears the director of the Port Aransas Art Center is currating the pieces for sale nicely. I didn't see any thing I thought was less than worthy to hang there. They have plenty to choose from if you're in the market for local artist coastal subjects. Go!

Beautiful and nice place to find a special unique gift. My boyfriend bought me a handmade car air freshener glass container filled with fresh essential oil. The paintings and photos were also beautiful by local artists. Nice little hidden gem.

We visit the Art Center every time we're in town and always end up with some treasures to take home. The selection, quality, and value is amazing.

We didn't know our rental shared a fenceline with the Art Center. In fact we didn't even know the center existed until we arrived! This place wound up being our favorite thing to visit aside from the beach! The art is expansive, encompassing several mediums (wood, glass, ceramic, canvas, etc). We visited the Art Center three times in three days. The volunteers were refreshingly friendly and when I'm back in Port A this place is tops on my list! Enjoy!

I got off the Port Aransas ferry and headed inland to find a beacon of beauty and "hurricane" hope in the Art Center of Port Aransas. They opened their brand new building right before Hurricane Harvey. Luckily, the building was very well built and they sustained only a small bit of damage and are now fully repaired. Light, open and airy galleries with meeting/classroom spaces, some groups in the community still repairing their own spaces have found the Center a welcome spot for their own meetings. This modern, calm environment is so welcoming, and the art is astonishingly beautiful. Yes, you can buy everything. And you will want to! Art classes, music, art festivals and more are in the works, so check the website for details. There is ample parking. #PortAStrong

There are a lot of gift/souvenir shops in Port Aransas, but if you are looking for something from a local artist, they offer a wide variety of items - including paintings and jewelry at a good range of prices. The workers were very friendly and helpful. I ended up buying a small painting that I look forward to finding the perfect spot for.
