ONEFIVESIX nailed the move to their new location. The dining room is warm and intimate, with a beautiful open kitchen that sets the tone. Food was on point across the board with creative dishes like the potato pancake and stuffed chicken wings which were packed with flavour and genuinely blew us away. The steak was cooked perfectly, and it shines when you wrap it in the lettuce with a hit of kimchi. Inventive cocktails were dialled in and balanced with great flavours and smart garnishes. Service matched the food - Sharon took great care of us and kept everything relaxed and smooth. Easy five stars and a must-try.

This is the new location for Korean fusion restaurant 156, which used to be on Cumberland St. We tried several of their classic dishes - the 7-grain stuffed chicken wings, sojebi, and gem salad. For the ssam, we went with the classic marinated short ribs and the tenderloin. The highlight of the meal was the stuffed chicken wings - the meat was very tender and flavorful. As for the ssam meat options, the meat was good quality, but the flavor left more to be desired. The short ribs marinade was on the sweeter side and the tenderloin didn’t have much flavor (seasoning options are provided). Also, the meat is grilled in the kitchen and the plate is kept warm at the table with a candle. But when I had a piece of the tenderloin (within a few minutes of it arriving at our table), it was already lukewarm. A little disappointing, but the staff was nice and they will take it back to the kitchen and heat it up for you when you asked. At the end of the meal the staff brought over a grapefruit digestif which was quite yummy. Overall nice ambience and accommodating stuff, but food left more to be desired given the price range.

One of my absolute favourite restaurants in Toronto. The food and beverage here is consistently outstanding, and open kitchen vibe adds so much energy and authenticity. The stuffed chicken wing has been my all time favourite, it is one of those unforgettable dishes you crave again and again. The mushroom jook is another must order! comforting, deeply flavourful and so thoughtfully executed. You can feel the care in the bite. The servers and kitchen staff are always warm, attentive and genuine as well. Can’t wait for my next visit 😊

I had an incredible experience at 156! From the service to the food, everything exceeded my expectations. Being a Korean food lover, I already tried several traditional and classic restaurants and even though they were good, it’s just your typical restaurant that you can find on TikTok. 156 on the other hand was a total new experience for me regarding the Korean cuisine. It was refined and perfectly executed. The lady that was in charge of our table was super kind and helpful as she explained in detail the dishes we had questions about. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you’re in the area!

Food was beyond my expectation. Mushroom jook was rich and flavorful. Mushroom was nicely grilled and rice was rich. Spanish Mackerel was also great. The fish was well cooked and rich in taste. Bone-in short ribs were amazing. Highly recommended and definitely worth to try, kinda melting in your month. Prime tenderloin was not my favorite cuz it’s medium rare and not usually how I take my steak. All salads and most of sides were spicy. Mocktail and dessert were on the house as their alcohol license was not there yet. Overall a very nice dining experience and definitely good food.

Food was different in a delicious way. They didn’t have their alcohol license so they gave free mocktails and desserts which was a pleasant surprise. There was six of us and the only thing real complaint I have is the food portions are quite small and every one of us left hungry, maybe we’re pigs 🤷‍♂️. The steak portions are small for the price I don’t think that many people care that much about the label chasing of beef grades etc, if that’s what’s contributing to the small portions and high prices. Maybe I am being picky so please weigh in if you try their meat selections. Even the jowl was small for the price but again maybe I’m comparing it to other kbbq’s and this more fine dining so it isn’t fair. Either way for six people no drink the meal was almost $450 maybe we should have ordered more or maybe that’s just the going rate for six people. The dishes are delicious(wings, pancakes, jowl, octopus, tartar). Retrospectively I would have skipped the beefs and ordered more mid and starter dishes. Kitchen is beautiful and people were friendly and hospitable. It is newly opened, moved from a different location, so I am sure they’re working somethings out. I would definitely go again when they have their liquor license as I did see Terra beer on the menu and that’s a treat. Also the sujebi was chewy the way I like and maybe one of favourite dishes. We arrived at 530pm and there was ample street parking at the time. Does $43 for 4oz of prime tenderloin sound expensive? That’s $10.75 an oz 🤷‍♂️ I’d change up that meat menu and get cheaper cuts because none of that meat was special to me. But the signature dishes I understand the prices because of the preparation and uniqueness.

We’d been looking forward to 156 reopening, and the return did not disappoint. The new space feels like a reinvention: a distinct brand and atmosphere while still carrying the thoughtful touches that earned them recognition on the Michelin Guide. The design is elegant—warm wood tones paired with forest-green accents create a modern, refined aesthetic that still feels welcoming. The open kitchen, framed by an acrylic partition, offers just the right glimpse into the heart of the restaurant, connecting diners to the craft without dominating the room. Even the washrooms continue the clean, considered design. Speaking with our server, I learned that part of the move stemmed from limitations with their previous landlord in Yorkville, making this Queen West and Dovercourt location feel like a natural next step. It was reassuring to see much of the same staff, which signals stability and continuity. And it wasn’t just the team—regulars from Yorkville were also in the room, now traveling across the city to dine here. That kind of loyalty says a lot about what 156 has built. As for the food, every dish reflected the same balance of care and intention as the space itself. The sujebi (hand-pulled dough) was both familiar and inventive—elevated with perilla butter and a zucchini purée that gave the dish a layered, modern character. The scallop was cooked with precision and paired beautifully with the sauce and textures of the dish. The beef tartare offered contrast and depth: tender meat against crisp buckwheat, accented with gochujang paste and sesame powder. The pork jowl was deeply satisfying, but the standout was the wagyu striploin—rich, expertly cooked, and enjoyable even without embellishment. All in all, 156 has returned with confidence and refinement. It’s a strong addition to Queen West’s growing culinary scene, and I’m excited to see how they continue to evolve.

Wonderful night out with friends at 156. This delightful gem is hidden on Queen West so a bit difficult to just walk by and pop in unless you know it's there. Our group shared a number of the small plates and the medium plates, as well as 3 orders of mains. The chicken wings are a must - a pleasant surprise awaits. The tartar was a delicious twist on traditional Korean yukje. Potato pancakes were amazing but not in the form I had expected. Mackerel and sujebi were very nice. The only criticism was that the scallops on the sujebi were overly salty. We ordered the tenderloin, marinated skirt and the hangar. All were very good, but would recommend the latter two for flavor over the tenderloin. For dessert the bingsu is a must. Fancy version of the same Korean dessert, but with some interesting twists to the ingredients. The shaved ice was a dreamy cloud. Service was great. Attentive and ready with good recommendations. Definitely will return to try the rest of the menu. Ps. In terms of cocktails, had the spicy gochugaru margarita which was really good.

Amazing dinner! We started with the oysters, chicken wings and beef tartare. Highly recommend the chicken wings and beef tartare, the oysters were also good but I think they were more similar to oysters you can find elsewhere. For the mid, we got the pork belly and sujebi. Both were great, the pork belly was very tender and the sujebi had a nice combination of flavours. For the ssam we got the bone in short rib. Highly highly highly recommend, it was extremely tender. Service was good, there was a slight delay after our appetizers but I think the kitchen was very busy. The restaurant had a nice ambiance, perfect for date night or a birthday dinner.

Came here for a case team dinner and was pleasantly surprised! The Korean fusion food has great flavours (very rich and vibrant) - my only complaint is that the plates are quite small. We started off with a few small plates - the gem lettuce salad, mul-hwe, and the chicken wings. The gem lettuce was their take on the Caesar salad - super creamy and cheesy, but with the addition of candied walnuts and oranges. It was one of the more delicious salads I've had in a while! The mul-hwe was decent; the gochujang added a nice spicy kick while the radishes and kiwis provided a sweet relief. That said, it wasn't my favourite. The chicken wings reminded me of the Chinese ones stuffed with glutinous rice. They were, no doubt, laborious to make since the main part of the wing was deboned. I wasn't a huge fan of the stuffing - it was too crunchy and sweet for my tastes. For the middle plate, we got the mushroom jook. This was their take on "congee" but was more similar to a risotto. The flavours were absolutely amazing! It was cheesy but homely all at once. Would definitely get again! We also ordered the striploin ssam, and, in addition to the lovely sides, we also got one portion of the white kimchi. The kimchi was so good! Light and tangy. The sides also helped a lot with the ssam flavours - loved the spicy and vinegary mix! We were still hungry after so added two more small plates - the potato pancake and the stuffed pepper. I didn't try the latter, but the former reminded me a lot of hash browns... but with the kicker that there were mussels inside. Was really a nice profile - next time, I'd prefer to get this instead of the mul-hwe. Finally, we wrapped up with dessert. The cornpop bingsoo was a fan favourite - something about the snowy white ice and the brown butter crumble just made it light and delicious. The banana milk tiramisu was good, tasted exactly like banana milk. The drinks here are great as well - both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Service is friendly and fast. Would definitely recommend to come again!

Adding another Michelin Guide restaurant to my list! Came here for our Valentine's dinner. Make sure you get an easy-to-get reservation on OpenTable before you come. We came on a Saturday night and they were completely booked up, and most likely if you were a walk-in then you weren't getting a table for the night. Also agree with someone mentioning that right as we walked in, they told us we had an "out-time" which felt like sort of unwelcoming comment right off the bat. Maybe it was the delivery of it but it was like oook. Ambiance - It's got that Toronto vibe, decor is nice, like a nice casual luxury. Didn't feel stuffy, but the place is narrow. Music was at a medium volume in the background, so it's got a nice lively buzz to the ambiance. If you're looking for a super intimate/quiet place, this might not be 100% what you were looking for. - Food Gem Lettuce Salad - Good - Would order this if you like salad, but I wouldn't say it was a game changer - Had lettuce with bits and pieces of nuts and I think bacon? Textures were great - Would try something else next time Beef Tartare - Recommend - Everyone mentions this one and for good reason! It's these two pockets of goodness with the tofu skin on the outside, and fresh beef on the inside with spices and super flavourful, would recommend! Chicken Wings - Recommend - Also another good one! These stuffed chicken wings were really tasty and flavourful. It had a nice crispy coating on the outside. Mushroom Jook + Truffles - Recommend - Very similar to a risotto. I really like this kind of texture and love truffles so I really enjoyed this dish. It might be too "goopy" for some though. Skirt Steak - Recommend, but any of the steaks/proteins should be great! - I don't know what I was expecting as I didn't see the pictures, but I really enjoyed the experience of this being like a korean bbq with all the little side dishes and wraps and sauces. Big fan of everything here together like the wasabi crema, chimichurri, etc. Banana Tiramisu - Banger - Yes. Banger. I LOVE tiramisu though so I might be biased. I didn't really taste the banana milk, but I loved how not-sweet it was, and had the perfect texture of a tiramisu with the light and fluffy cream and ladyfinger biscuits. - Service - Was good. I wouldn't say absolutely stellar per se. We had a few different staff members rotate in and out and it seemed more like a free for all rather than someone focused on us. Some were much more friendly and warmer than others. I also felt like compared to the other Michelin restaurants we've been to, they weren't as quick or attentive, but it's a really high standard so I get it. Consistency - One thing that bothered me is that my friend came a week before, and really talked up the mushroom jook with truffles. I LOVE truffles so I was really hyped about this, but when we got it, it looked like we received half the amount of what he had. Not sure what's going on there, but it would be nice if it was consistent across the board, especially for a high end restaurant. Bill came to about $315 for two people with two rounds of cocktails. Was a good spot, but definitely for the special occasions!

The beef tartare ($15) are flavourful bundles of joy - for your mouth that is. Sweet, savoury, and spicy elements combine with the minced beef before being stuffed into fried tofu skin. An egg yolk drizzle adds a thick creamy element while the chives a burst of freshness. If the avocado mousse wasn't so over salted the hiramasa ($25) would have been perfect. A generous portion of yellowtail incorporated a hint of heat from white kimchi gel and horseradish along with briny bits of oiji (a Korean pickle). While the avocado helps bind everything together, it was overly seasoned, so I ended up scraping most of it off to allow me to taste the fish. The little toasted seaweed chips were a great choice to scoop this up. The intensely flavoured appetizers did leave the Korean bouillabaisse ($34) tasting flat. Perhaps it's why the kitchen chose to serve the bouillabaisse with the white kimchi on the side. Ultimately, it lacked the saffron hit that makes the seafood sing. At least there was a decent number of clams, bay scallops, and haddock and the thin circles of rice cake were an interesting chewy texture against the seafood. The #AvecJayden's white kimchi ($8) supports a fellow chef - the sous chef of Richmond Station who began perfecting his recipe during the pandemic and later starting an enterprise to sell it. Given it doesn't rely heavily on spicy gochujang, Jayden's version is light and fresh so didn't detract from the seafood. Give me an entire dish of sujebi ($37), the slices of silky Korean pasta swimming in a decadent buttery sauce. Chunks of duck leg, meaty maitake mushrooms, sweet corn, and fried sage made this the highlight of the meal. There wasn't an ounce of fruit in the banana milk tiramisu ($13), but I don't mind. My best guess as to where the banana was incorporated may be the cake. Regardless, the dessert satisfied and aptly fit the menu's description as being not too sweet. The kitchen's efficiency seemed to put a strain on the front-of-the-house. Even though service was friendly, they were so busy running food and drinks that switching plates became an after thought. A new plate would be ideal between the starters and the bouillabaisse, at least we managed to get one for the sujebi after waiting a bit. Dinner also seemed rushed with little time between dishes. I didn't feel like I could really settle in and relax without letting the mains go cold.

156 cumberland is a hidden gem in the heart of yorkville. This restaurant is known for its modern and refined Korean cuisine. We were surprised by the strange design of the dining room in that there is no bar. If you are looking for a happy hour bar spot, this might not be the place for you. Regardless, we were delighted by the hospitality of the staff and the delicious food. We started our meal with the beef tartar and gem salad. The beef tartar was very unique as it comes served in a tofu skin boat. The dish is beautiful to the eyes and a perfect small bite to start the meal. We then had the gem salad. This salad was a mixture of flavours that I would not normally combine, however they worked perfectly in a harmonious bite. The gem lettuce was tossed in an asian dressing with a Cesar salad flair and topped with candied nuts, caramelized pork belly lardons and orange segments. All of the components made for a balanced bite. We then had the bbq ssam dish with hanger steak and crispy Brussel sprouts. The ssam is an upscale take on Korean bbq. The platter of perfectly grilled beef and bonchon came to the table as a true feast. Ssam is a platter of different components to build your own lettuce wraps. The three different sauce offerings each had a different flavour which made for lots of different tastes and the different pickled veggies add the perfect zing to the dish. Finally the Brussel sprouts were piping hot, crispy and sat atop a sauce that was a true umami bomb. We went to 156 cumberland on a Monday night and it was packed with guests. The quality and flavours of the food and attentive wait staff are clearly reason for this restaurant's popularity.

Very tasty food, but really lacked in terms of service. We came for an early dinner (5 ish) and were one of 4 tables in the restaurant. The server was initially very attentive and provided good recommendations, but once we got the food we never saw the server again - we even had to flag them down several times to get the bill to pay.

Was excited for this place based on the very high reviews both here and on Google. Felt it definitely could have been better, especially for the price you pay here. Ambiance was great and service is also very attentive. However the food, just doesn't hit. KOrdered the Potato Pancake (16), Korean Bouillabaisse (34) and Mushroom Jook (28). Potato pancake was probably my personal favorite with a good amount of mussels and pretty good tasting. I really wish this was larger for $16 but it was just 2 small slices. It was delicious but portion is not there. Korean Bouillabaisse was ok at best. The good part here is the haddock but the clams had that crunchy sand taste. Scallops were extremely small, barely noticeable honestly. Mushroom jook was decent taste wise, lots of mushrooms and rice cakes but that was about it. For a korean fusion I expected a bit more flair here. Portions for both the Bouillabaisse and mushroom jook were quite small again, for the price. Portions are really lacking, taste is decent, really can't give anything more than 2 stars.

156 Cumberland... more like 100/10 Cumberland! This meal was one of the highlights of my year so far. Everything was elegantly presented, meticulously prepared and just freaking delicious. We ordered 3 rounds of drinks-almost ordered all of the cocktails offered, an appetizer feast, a huge main and both of the desserts on the menu. All the drinks were expertly crafted and the food... executed immaculately (with all the proper authentic but refined flavour profiles)! The kitchen even accommodated us by making 3 of each appetizer instead of having us order a whole other order which would leave us with an odd extra. That thoughtfulness and flexibility made the whole experience even more elevated. The interior here is cozy and vibey. It's dim which my camera didn't love. But nothing some flash or a designated light friend can't solve lol A few standout dishes and must orders are the beef tartare (the variety of textures in this bite sized pocket was insane), stuffed chicken wings (SO stuffed with delicious glutinous rice), the beef short rib platter (my gosh the short ribs were so tender and made for the most perf ssam) and finally the banana tiramisu (I still think about this dessert till this day... so unique but at the same time... makes SO much sense. I AM OBSESSSSEED). This place is a must visit! Their menu changes occasionally so there's always something new and delicious to try.

The decor in this place is so elegant! If you want to impress someone bring them here, perfect for a special occasion or fancier date night. We got: tartare: presentation was . The bean curd pocket gave it a slightly sweet taste, the meat was fresh and there was also a subdued spicy kick to it. baby gem salad: it was nice to have a vegetable dish in the mix and it was a good portion! I liked the addition of peaches in the salad. mushroom jook: loved the mushroom flavour here, similar textures to risotto sujebi: think if it as spicy thin rice cakes with shrimp and mint. injeolmi: I liked the crunch of the thinly sliced nuts. I didn't really taste the flavor of injeolmi, it reminded me more of vanilla and salted caramel instead. Quite sweet though, perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth

This little place in yorkville is solid from beginning to end. I truly have only to recommend this place and just try it. The customer service guides you easily and friendly to choose dishes. I highly recommend sharing. I didn't have a bad dish. The definite standout like everyone else was saying was the beef tartare. An absolute must! At the time, the only thing I thought they could improve on was the washroom. Was a bit disappointing considering how on point everything else was.

Had a chance to diner here by myself on a weekday night. 156 Cumberland sits along the the busy Cumberland street that has restaurants littered left and right. This restaurant sits unassumingly up some steps with no real sign. The interior is clean and white, very polished feel that wouldn't give you the impression of a Korean fusion restaurant. I started with a berry cocktail that was refreshing and delicious. That was a great start before the U10 scallops hit the table. I was pleasantly surprised by how many scallops came with the dish and the flavor was on point. Each bite had a lightness to it that came with the flavor of the ocean. Then came the coup de Grace. The Sujebi was a perfect combo dish. It had the playfulness from the Korean rice cakes but the elegance and richness of a French dish from the duck confit. The corn in the dish gave it just enough sweetness and crunch to balance out the dish. I asked for a little red pepper flakes which gave it the perfect kick I was looking for. Will definitely be back to try out other things.

4.5/5 Very good Korean fusion restaurant. - Beef Tartare with crispy shallot or garlic? With gojuchang sauce, stuffed inside inaru tofu skin. So so good - Sujebi: great dish. Not too salty, noodles were chewy because of the potato starch. - Trout roe dip: quite sour for my liking - Scallop: good but again, a little too sour - Banana tiramisu: they used the Korean banana milk in this dessert. Very good!

Elegant, Korean restaurant with modern twists on classics. Service was 10/10 - our hostess was polite, attentive, and promptly served us. In terms of dishes, here's the ratings: Potato Pancake - 3.75/5: The potato pancake itself was amazingly crispy and delicious. However, the spicy mayo on top overwhelmed most other flavors. Beef Tartare - 5/5: Uniquely served as an Inari, this was the best dish of the night. The Beef Tartare was seasoned nicely and there was a generous amount of greens on top, giving the entire dish a light, clean taste. You could easily eat 2 or more plates of these. Mackerel - 3.5/5: The veggies on top did a good job cutting some fattiness of the mackerel, but overall this dish is too heavy. After a few bites you get tired of it. Drinks were superb! We opted for their fruity drinks - refreshing & delicious. Overall, a very solid experience. The creativity of the menu and wonderful service are plenty enough reason to come back.

I threw my wife a surprise 50th birthday party with her Korean girlfriends at 156 Cumberland and it was a great success! It's such a treat to have an authentic yet modern Korean restaurant that is killing it, and doing a better job than so many of the other touristy, unoriginal restaurants in the Yorkville area. In my opinion, 156 Cumberland is one of the best restaurants in this district. They seem to be pretty new on the scene, but I was so impressed with their service, the food and the overall vibe. After hearing about how much everyone at the party loved this restaurant, I came back a week later with my wife to try this restaurant for myself. We started with a potato pancake which was delicious but a small portion The second dish was Korean bouillabaisse which was excellent and full of clams, scallops and rice balls in a savory soup. It was excellent, I only wish there was more of it. Finally. The main course was the beef short rib ssam, which really took this meal to over the top. The ribs were cooked perfectly, and were so delicious yet moist and tender. We thought the meat was cooked perfectly and the amount of meat was impressive. The lettuce, sauces, and dressings were also high-quality. It was provided the perfect crunch, textures, and complementary flavours to complement the delicious short rib. For me this dish is what put the meal over the top. We love 156 Cumberland and I have to rank it as a top dining destination in Yorkville!

OK... my last review of the year and it's a good one! I had a couple of other ones I wanted to write up but I didn't want to leave '22 on a sour note. I wanted to leave this year on a HIGH! And nothing gets better than 156 Cumberland! Been here a couple of times. Hmmm... when? BM and AM. That's Before Michelin and After Michelin Guides Recommended restaurant nod. Not all Michelin Star or Recommended Places are snobby, high priced establishments. AND not all places in Yorkville have to be exclusive, expensive, and elitist. Welcome to 156 Cumberland. This down to earth, modestly decorated spot is where you go when you don't want the same old thing. For Koreans like me, I don't go out for Korean Food unless someone wants to go and makes demands or bribes ... LOL... because I'm kind of saturated with the food of my people. So when a restaurant takes Korean classics and infuses French cuisines for multicultural Toronto Denizens, I must go!!! The menu here is imaginative and very comforting. Korean food has always been a warm comforting hug on a cold Canada night, and they don't lose that here at 156 Cumberland. The food here is created by Chef MJ - the master of the back of the house! AND his charming wife, Jenny, is the manager - mistress of the front of the house. What a lovely couple and how they make magic here is awesome. MJ creates and Jenny makes sure the staff provides exemplary service to their voraciously hungry, but patient with outside calm demeanour, diners. I on the other hand was out of control as usual... HeHeHe... ! I'm sure everyone has had a look at their website and probably skimmed through the menu and had a heart stopping, stomach growling moment on the Braised Short Rib. Let me tell you, I completely forgot about any of the other dishes when this came out. The presentation, the aroma, the cook, the side dishes, the... yes.. I can go on and on... but I won't! I'll just say that it is THE MUST TRY DISH of the YEAR! And since the year has come to an end, it should be your MUST TRY of 2023! I can go into great length how perfectly seasoned with hints of Korean bbq galbi marinade. I could tell you how amazingly tender and juicy each segment was. How each morsel was umami taste explosion. BUT I won't... oops sorry! How about you just go and give it a try yourself. The price for such an amazing meal, with the location, and the Michelin Recommendation, is more than reasonable. Many of my friends have gone and some have gone again already. What are you waiting for? This Korean give this Korean inspired place 5 Kimchi Stars - LOL!!!! Happy New Years! This 156 Cumberland is a restaurant recommended by the Michelin Guide. You definitely should put this place on the very top of restaurants to try!! Known for modern Korean with a French twist. The dishes are beautiful and the flavours are irresistible and unique! The restaurant is chic and feminine with gorgeous chandeliers. My favourite appetizer has to be the Beef Tartare and love the twist with Gochujang Stuffed Chicken Wings with Sticky Rice so delicious. We also had the Persimmon & Sweet Potato Salad. Mushroom Jook almost risotto like served with a poached egg and flavourful with truffles. The Beef Short Rib is braised for 24 hours and served with Korean Banchan + lettuce wrap. The Sujebi, another must have is handcrafted Korean noodles stuffed like a ravioli with pork and shrimp ragu. For cocktails, the Toasted Marshmallow Martini was so tasty made with Korean Rice Wine. Injeolmi Parfait is not too sweet ..luxurious and creamy. The Purple Potato Donut with Buttermilk Ice Cream was very unique and a great way to end the night!! Opened just one year ago! Congrats to Chef MJ and @156cumberland for an outstanding menu. It is no surprise this place made it on the Michelin recommended list.

I was very impressed! The service, the atmosphere, and the food were all perfect! They were able to accommodate food allergies and each plate had a fun twist on classic Korean dishes.

I went to try out this place for some Korean fusion food with some friends. We enjoyed the atmosphere and service here. The vibe is perfect for a date, and our server was warm and explained the menu clearly. Going to the food, we started with ordering the beef tartare and the wings to share. The beef tartare was good and gave a fresh taste, and the wings would have been better if they were less sour. The mains, beef short ribs, were amazing, had a smokey taste, and went well with the side dishes. The Sujebi (Korean Pasta) was ok, but I liked the other dishes better. It is on the pricier side, given the location and ambiance. I would recommend this place if you are looking for something different to try.

Went a couple times and each time the food is great. My favorite two dishes is the trout roe dip (sadly don't see it on there anymore ) and the hanger steak. Flavorful, tender, and execution is consistent. The potato pancake is noteworthy too. Pretty casual place to sit in, no formal attire required. Servers I've had there so far know there stuff and they're friendly

I'm always down for a Korean fusion place. The service was good and they have a cool selection of mocktails. My favourite dish of the night was the deboned chicken wings! I love how they were stuffed with rice and very flavourful. The portion sizes here are on the smaller side. So it's more of a drinks with tapas place.

Had a wonderful dinner here! Everything from food to drinks to service was really great. Pricey, but worth the experience. Baby gem - I've never been so blown away by a salad. Mainly the dressing. It was so savory and delicious! Chicken wings - deboned and stuffed with grains, and glazed to perfection in a sweet and savory sticky sauce. Such a great starter and fun to eat! Sujebi - this was like nothing I could have expected. The "pasta" is flat, circular, and has some chew like a Korean rice cake. The sauce was great - really enjoyed this dish! Halibut - I've never had such tender and flaky halibut. The XO sauce was stronger than expected - quite spicy as well. It was a bit much in comparison to the delicate broth. I loved our dinner here - it's definitely a treat but such a fun and unique meal!

I have had my eyes on this place for awhile and was excited to try it! The service was great and the atmosphere of the place is really nice. I had the forget me not drink which had a really strong floral taste. It wasn't my favourite but not bad. I also had the yellowtail crudo to start. It was really fishy, I wasn't a huge fan. I got the Sujebi which I really liked. The hand-pulled noodle is quiet similar to the Korean rice cake texture. The flavours were unique and worked well together. I also ordered the halibut, which really threw me off because it was a bit over cooked which made it dry. My friend's halibut was also over. I later chatted with another friend who came here a few weeks ago, and said her halibut was over cooked too! It was a shame because the sauce and the pairings for the fish were really good. We were a group of around 10 people, because of the small kitchen, things didn't come out together. We waited about 15-20 minutes for the entire table to get their mains. I would say it's about $60-70 per person including drink, app and main. It was a decent meal but for the price point, I would probably try something else next time.

I had high expectations after the Michelin nod and reading fellow Yelper reviews on here. For once, the Google reviews were more accurate because there were just more reviews. Thankfully, because of Google, I was warned about the 90 minute seating. The server also warned us at the beginning. That was all fine, until at the end, one of the servers who only poured water for us all night, told me after I had paid the bill, "we need the table back now." I didn't even know what she had said because you would expect the last thing that someone says to you at a restaurant would be "have a great rest of the evening"... or something to that effect. Lol. I asked her to repeat herself and yes, she repeated these words to me- quite sternly. To complain a bit further- we were rushed out not because my boyfriend and I were chit chatting and taking our sweet time, but because the food came out pretty slow. It definitely was not on us. If you can't handle a 90 minute service, then please don't enforce a 90 minute seating. Now on to the food. We did not try the short ribs because we were not that hungry. The best dish was the halibut. A nice cook on the fish and great textures combined in the dish. Grilled enoki was a great idea, and the barley worked really well in this dish. Everything else was so so. The sujebi reminded us of mapodoufu- it worked I guess, but I was hoping for the essence of sujebi, and this was pasta. The chicken wings were meh. I don't understand what everyone here is raving about. I'm not sure that the barley was a good choice. The beef tartar was done pretty good but the temperature and the crunch on it was a bit off putting. The bad- the injulmi dessert is plain awful and sweet- nothing to do with injulmi. Could be called marshmallow parfait. We also got 2 cocktails but they were pretty bad and so we stopped ordering the drinks. The clientele and vibe were also a bit strange for us. Everyone was very very young. Not that this affects anything. We just were wondering why that might be. It felt like a regular korean restaurant for sure in terms of decor and interior design. Not very elevated, which is fine. I only care about food, and not being rushed out and feeling comfortable eating. 90 minutes is also not standard which they claim on Google reviews. Any restaurant I go to in this city does NOT have a 90 minute seating. I didn't understand why people were so upset in the Google reviews but having experienced it, it really kinda sucks. It's not an experience I would like to repeat, or recommend to anyone.

surprisingly, blown away. I did not expect the food to be this good. to be frank, I'm not even a huge Korean food lover and I'm usually a bit skeptical about Asian fusion places. But every dish hit the spot. The drinks were delicious. Great for an Asian pallet. majority of the drinks for refreshing and fruity. All the ingredients were seasoned perfectly, and produce/meat were very high-quality . Must Treis include the sashimi platter, beef tartare, the jook, and the octopus. The only dish I thought was OK was the steak just because it was quite pricey for a mediocre piece of meat. But everything else was divine. I would recommend coming with 4 to 6 people and get every single item on the menu. Though I would note that the dishes are quite small and slightly pricey. I came with three other people, and all the food we ordered did not fill us. I would definitely come back here for a double date or celebration meal. staffs were overall quite friendly, and interior was simple and elegant. Not too loud great for chatting.

Cute restaurant in the heart of Yorkville! I was one of the first customers that night but the restaurant filled up quickly and was full by the time we left at 8pm. The service is great with friendly waiters who try to customize your order based on your group size. It's a good spot for a date or girls night. The cuisine is European-Korean and I think to some people, it may sound "strange" to fuse these two cultures together. But I do think it works and it is primarily European tasting with a hint of Korean/Asian flavours such as miso, gochujang and soy to name a few. Do yourself a favour and get the chicken wings and "congee"! Those were the best dishes for me that night. The wings are stuffed with rice inside with a crispy exterior. I wish I got more wings but then I wouldn't be able to try more things on their menu. The "congee" was also tasty. It reminded me of risotto with lots of mushrooms and we added truffle on top! The beef short ribs were also very tender. It's interesting to see Asian inspired flavours presented so elegantly a plate. I would recommend you to check this place out.

Wow! Such great food and service! We had the beef tartare, EXCELLENT! Chicken wings, good! Brussel sprouts and Pork Belly, DELICIOUS! My husband had Wagyu Steak Flap and seaweed rice, YUM! Drinks were also fantastic! Top notch place for top notch food!

While many of the dishes were exceptional, a few of them fell flat, and we generally felt that everything could have been a lot more Korean. In making it more modern, it also seems to have become less flavorful. Stronger dishes: hiramasa and mackerel were both very fresh fishes with very apt amounts of seasoning and accompaniment. The bugak (rice crackers) and sujebi ("pasta") both let the kitchen's craft shine through, with remarkably fresh treatment of starches. The roasted rice ice cream had stronger rice flavor than I ever thought possible. Weaker dishes: Scallops, Jook, Tiramisu. These were just unremarkable and I've made better versions of equivalent dishes at home.

This is probably my favourite restaurant I've been to in for years. I can't remember the last time I had a perfect experience from start to finish. Every dish that came out was well presented, tasty, and different. I asked our server what their secret was and he said they meet monthly to discuss the menu & change the menu seasonally to ensure they highlight in season ingredients. Don't skip the oysters! The white kimchi made it perfectly balanced! The beef was our favourite but everything else was a very close second. Glad I celebrated my birthday here! Service is top notch, food is excellent, and the decor/atmosphere is beautiful.

The menu here is a blend of French and Korean dishes and I've got to say, not only was I impressed with the food here but also the interior decor. That feeling when a restaurant far exceeds your expectations. This small yet stylish eatery uses a combination of Korean food fused with French techniques and wow who would have thought it would be so delicious. We had: Beef Tartare: this was served with Inari (aka tofu pockets), the flavors were on-point, slightly sweet and savoury. The crispy shallots ontop added a nice crunch and the beef was well seasoned and not gamey at all Hamachi: I found this to be refreshing and light but a bit bland. The hamachi was super fresh but flavor wise it could have used a kick or something to make the dish more memorable Mushroom truffle congee: This to me was like a more liquid-y risotto because congee is usually bland but this was packed with flavour. The poached egg was cooked perfectly and parmagiano-reggiano added a slight saltiness. The 3 different types of mushrooms really added layers of flavors and textures. As a truffle lover I appreciate how noticable the truffle aroma was in every bite. So good! Duck Leg Confit: This has to be one of my favorite duck dishes in Toronto. The duck was perfectly cooked , flavorful and tender on the inside yet the skin was super crispy. SO GOOD. Definitely recommend Brown Butter Cake: Served with poached pear and burnt honey ice cream. The flavours worked well together but I found the cake could have been softer and more moist. The presentation could have also been a bit nicer but still tasty overall! From the hostess to our server Adam, all of the staff were incredibly nice and helpful and could feel their genuine love for the food they serve. This definitely elevated our experience. I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu (especially the stuffed chicken wings and short rib)

Food was not bad but not really anything standout. Best dishes were the 30 Oz short rib and congee with truffles. Chicken wing was pretty average. Steak tar tar was average. Squid noodles was ok. Spanish mackerel was ok. Service was a bit off.

Nice environment, creative ideas on menu, taste surprisingly good. Good service, enjoyed the night. Perfect for couple date.

Interesting to say the least. The food gets a 4; service a 2, but since everyone is short staffed, I'll round it up and offer a 4 star rating. The Caesar (cocktail) is obviously a super star! Who doesn't like an oyster as part of their cocktail? The extra salt added to the oyster wasn't great, but you can still enjoy it without making a fuss. The wine list is compact, thoughtful, but lacks variety on the whites. Too many Pinot Grigios... the appetizers were amazing, the fusion of Korean and Western cuisine was creative, interesting and delicious. The beef tartare had amazing textures and taste; and it wasn't the tried and tested pine nuts and sesame oil, it was original. The baby gem lettuce ceasar salad was another display of brilliance and fusion done right. We should have stoped there! The mains didn't live up to the appetizers unfortunately. The fish had far too much salt and the steak was over cooked, despite having amazing sides that were to die for. I think everyone should try this place once and figure out if you want to come back again.

The food was good, but short of a 5, the flavours just wasn't there. High on the list were the oysters and beef tartare.
