My fiancé, dog, and I had a wonderful time with Savannah Dan, and I highly recommend those visiting this wonderful city to book a tour try his walking tour.
Without getting into too much detail, Savannah Dan took about eight of us in a big loop around the city's historical district and eloquently highlighted the city's rich, yet dark, history. Some highlights:
-About Oglethorpe, the first European settlers, and local Native Americans.
-Famous haunts that reside underneath squares or inside of notable buildings.
-Where to taste delicious noms, ranging from fried chicken to ice cream.
-Historical events like the Civil Rights sit-ins. (One of the coolest things I learned.)
-About Forrest Gump and certain scenes.
-Dude dresses up in an old school, white Southern suit! (Thanks for going all-out, Savannah Dan.)
Other tidbits:
-Make reservations 24-hours prior, via phone.
-$25 per person.
-Pooch friendly. We brought our dog, Cranberry. (He was very nice to her, too.)
-90-120minute tour. He takes his time and answers questions at the end, too.
My lady and I went on three tours while in Savannah, and I have to say this one was my favorite.
