Came here on our way from Utah for a dinner on a late Saturday and they had only the thali. We waited for about 10 minutes for our food and the thali was actually good; the roti was bit different than our regular roti. The ambience was good and was part of a series of restaurants within a building. They have clean restrooms and upbeat ambience. Parking was available on the side street which is paid parking on most days.

This is my favorite restaurant in Reno! I brought my friend visiting from NYC here because she's vegan, and she said it was the BEST Indian food she's ever had, so we ate there twice in one day! I love the somosa chaat (lunch menu) and the kombucha is always good. Plus the family who owns it is very sweet. The food tastes like it came off a cooking show, it's that good. 12/10!

Google
Displeased at the "vegan" options offered at Thali. I initially went in planning to purchase a vegan burrito but was upsold to a dish called "bunny chow". I asked if this could be made vegan and was told that it could. Upon receiving the dish and taking a few bites, I discovered paneer cubes made of dairy. I am certain it was not tofu. The yogurt sauce on top was suspect too. Unfortunately this all transpired right before they closed so I didn't feel I had any recourse to go back. I don't understand why my food was made with dairy despite my confirming that it would be made vegan. [EDIT/UPDATE] While I appreciate the owner confirming the kitchen error and admitting they served non-vegan food (dairy/paneer) for a meal explicitly ordered as vegan, I feel this serious situation was not taken with the gravity it deserves. Furthermore, being addressed as "Dear 'Tree'" in quotation marks by the owner in their public apology is unprofessional and highly disrespectful. I was a paying customer who received an incorrect and potentially harmful product, and the response's tone adds insult to injury.

Google
I absolutely loved this place. Delicious masala dosa (note: only available at lunch time). I’m only visiting Reno for a couple of days but I might come back tomorrow for a second round.

Google
Wow this place was delicious and the owner was so hospitable and welcoming! I was looking for “good authentic” Indian cuisine and I literally felt like I was transported to India! I had the chai tea which was one of the best I’ve ever had. The flavor and portions were top tier. I will definitely be back here when I come to Reno again.

Google
Had an amazing lunch at Thali in Reno thanks to my friend Deepa! Authentic Indian flavors, warm atmosphere, and the best samosas! Thank you Thali for making my first visit special and accommodating us tapas-style. So much flavor to go around!

Google
My new favorite restaurant in Reno. Truly the most gorgeous Indian food imaginable; I’ve never eaten anything spiced so exquisitely. I’m still in disbelief of how truly exceptional the food is (you won’t believe how amazing lentils can be until you eat here) and all I got was the standard to-go plate. Nothing like seeing a whole cardamom pod in a rice pudding, too! The jar of pickled Meyer Lemons is just, so good. I lived in NYC for a while and have eaten a LOT of North Indian food and none of it holds a candle to Thali. This place is a true treasure WOW. THANK YOU.

Google
While traveling we are always on a look out for pure veg restaurants. Searched and found this place. The food was like home made. Roti dal chawal sabzi and chutney were all very good. It was all freshly made. The ambience was ok but we were not expecting it to be great either as long as we had good pure veg restaurant. Parking is available in a paid lot just a block away and the restaurant can take care of the parking for the first two hours. A must visit if you are in the area.

Yelp
Delicious and unique spot! We arrived out of the pouring rain about 35-40 mins before they closed and stood awkwardly near the counter for a minute or so, not sure what to do or how it worked. I believe it was the owner that came over to greet us and confirmed our order - two standard (vegetarian) plates. I explained my allergy (tree nuts! Cashews usually abound in vegan/vegetarian food!) and he said not to worry, we would just avoid the vegan yogurt. We waited about 15 minutes for our two plates to be brought out, and immediately dove in, both out of hunger and out of feeling bad that we arrived so close to closing time. The owner/server/cook came by to ask if we wanted any refills - I said "yes please but only if it's easy, I know you're closed now and we got here late!" He said it was no problem, to take our time and relax and not feel rushed. I didn't realize it but they have one set plate per day with three main entrees. Our dishes were a potato curry, a lentil curry, and a spinach curry. Spinach and potato were our favorite and we got refills of both, along with more bread and rice. Everything was delicious and hot, so comforting on a rainy cold night! It's a small place that I imagine would get crowded during peak hours but even so, it's definitely worth a visit if you're in the Reno area!

Yelp
Located in the West street market, Thali has a very small menu which features vegetarian and vegan options. I forget the names of the dishes but I got some donut shaped dumplings and something that reminded me of a savory crepe but cooked more like a quesadilla. The tomato chutney was the stand out with its complex flavor and bit of kick, though I found the meal to have a bit too much salt. The kombucha was pretty good and I assume it to be homemade and not super carbonated. Probably one of the better vegetarian meals I've had and probably the first place I'd suggest if a vegan was looking for a lunch spot. Service was decent

Yelp
Thali is my all-time favorite Indian restaurant! They have such a unique concept: instead of a standard menu, they serve a set meal that changes daily based on seasonal ingredients. Every dish is fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. The food comes beautifully plated with rice in the middle, roti on the side, plus yogurt and a dessert. Everything is vegetarian-friendly, and they also offer a vegan version (they'll simply swap the yogurt for a non-dairy option). The restaurant has a small seating area up front, a larger shared dining space with plenty of tables, and even outdoor seating for the warmer months, so there's always a comfortable spot to enjoy your meal. The staff are always friendly and easy to talk to. Serj, the owner, is great, you'll often see him around the restaurant greeting guests and helping out wherever needed. The whole place has a warm, welcoming energy that makes you feel like part of their community.

Yelp
A unique concept with amazing food. It's a set vegetarian menu, so you need to be open to tying different dishes/flavors. You're served several different dishes, which were all delicious. I had saved this restaurant to go to, and forgot why, but was in the area. Walking up, I was hesitant on what to expect. The visible front of the restaurant was empty. Glad I didn't let that deter us. There's an enclosed courtyard in the back with 2 other eateries (that I didn't know existed), where people were dining with live music being played. Truely enjoyed the experience and food. P.S. If you're not a vegetarian, don't let that dissuade you. It's worth trying out.

Yelp
Exceptional little spot in Reno. The staff was very helpful for the dinner options (fixed seasonal vegetarian plates with 3 entrees, roti, raita, pickled veggies, rice and a dessert that you can either order standard or bottomless). The entrees included a veggie curry, a bean dish, and a lentil dish. All of the dishes were flavorful and complimented each other, it was exactly the veggie boost I needed mid week. My only regret is I don't think I'll be able to make it back for the lunch dosa, which from the other pics looks phenomenal.

Yelp
To be fair, I can't really eat here yet but we were there last night for a mixer. I ordered a Lassi and my bestie got wine. I saw food being prepared though and it looked amazing. They definitely deserve a try if you like Indian food. They don't have an actual menu though just one plate with options. Employees were so nice, friendly and accompdating and that right warranted this review. It's also a cozy setting where you can sit and enjoy time with friends.

Yelp
This was my second time eating at Thali. I first came here years ago when they first opened. I love the flavors and Indian food. I have to say the parking is a little challenging. Tonight I came with a group of friends. I ordered the all you can eat plate. Our server , Nehal, was so friendly and helpful. She was telling us that lentils have the same amount of protein as eggs. Loved the attentive service. The plate consisted of all vegetarian dishes. Such a fun evening out and experience!

Yelp
After trying Thali at the Diwaliwood Yelp event, I knew I had to visit soon. I visited Thali the day after Thanksgiving and it was the perfect post-Thanksgiving lunch. Thali offers authentic Indian cuisine in a way that no one else in Reno does. We ordered the Utapam and Samosa Chat, both of which were delicious. I am looking forward to coming back to try the Thali dinner, which most Indian restaurants don't offer. There isn't much service at Thali. You order at the counter and your food is brought to you, but water is self-serve at the counter. The restaurant itself is cool and features different artwork. Overall, I'm glad I gave Thali a try and can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Had the samosa chaat and jasmine kombucha, so fresh and delicious! Sat outside in the shared patio area and they delivered my meal to me very quickly.
google avatar

Yelp
Didn't realize this wasn't a normal sit down restaurant. It's one seasonal dish every day, you can pay for one plate or all you can eat. One plate was good for me but my friend needed the all you can eat. (Only $2 difference) Food was good and the ambience was very cute but my god was it hot! So uncomfortable we rushed to eat do we could cool off in the 100° outside! would have liked to stay longer but it was unbearable:/
google avatar

Alisa B.

Yelp
Overall, it was an okay experience. My friends and I all got the all-you-can-eat thali, which came with wheat roti, rice, yogurt, dessert, and 3 various lentils/saag. The food was decent quality, but nothing special. My favorite parts were the saag and spiced rice dessert. The "all-you-can-eat" aspect was interesting to me. Since it was busy, we had to flag down staff to get refills of each item. It was cool that we could also refull the roti and rice! However, service was slow due to the busy food hall around us. This business is located in the West Street Market! Really bustling on a Friday night. The seating area is shared with the different shops and restaurants in the building.

Yelp
Randomly came to this place with friends when our original spot was closed. I knew this place was close but never got to try it til today. I told the person at the counter I was down for a surprise and I liked everything and I wanted a good amount of spice. Got like veggie crepe with a yogurt sauce a stew and like a butter sauce to dip in with savory donuts. Was super happy and probably the best vegetarian food I've ever had. Also in the back is a nice vibe with other restaurants and a cool stage where they have concerts Sometimes.

Yelp
This is the best South Indian food I've had in town. Could never find a good Dosa, finally found one! The menu is simple and the service was very quick and easy. Definitely want to come here for dinner and try the unlimited thali plate. West street market is a really quaint and nice spot with other small restaurants grouped together so you can try a bit of everything. Love this location.

Yelp
Amazing food! Great service. Stopped here for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised with the authenticity of flavors! Impressed my MIL too:)

Yelp
Amazing food and customer service. I recommend the refill platter. We sat outside and they bring everything to you, including your refills. What a delightful experience and high quality, authentic food.

Yelp
The food here is incredible!! I had a wonderful lunch with my visiting friend and she agreed that the MASALA DOSA was one the best we've had. Everyone working was very helpful and friendly. I especially appreciate that they can make any adjustments needed for anyone with a restricted diet. Thali is a perfect place to go in the summer to enjoy the beautiful outdoor seating!
google avatar

Miles R.

Yelp
This place is delicious and a great deal. For $20 I got UNLIMITED refills of 3 entrees and bread, plus some sides of yogurt, dessert, and chutney. The chefs were really nice too. We went on a Friday afternoon and it was pretty calm and quiet. I will definitely come back if I'm in the area.

Yelp
Another home run restaurant in downtown Reno! We ordered two different dishes that came with three different flavors for dipping. The spices used were tantalizing. A large Sikh family was there for lunch and I watched them as they ordered some pretty good plates. Service was great and it was in a food court with a vegan restaurant ( the Fixx) and a very cool pizza place ( the pizza collective). I highly recommend this place for a fun place that serves wonderful authentic Indian cuisine.

Yelp
I was duped into coming here, a carnivore invited to what I thought was a standard Indian restaurant. I thought I'd be noshing on fish pakora, butter chicken, and goat curry. Instead, I discovered I had been invited to a vegan/vegetarian only establishment, and didn't know until it I sat down and looked at the menu. That being said, even though I wanted meat... What I got wasn't bad. Tasty, in fact. The restaurant also has a cool vibe to it, and in fact had ANOTHER restaurant inside sharing the space.... But also vegan. I can't for the life of me remember the names of the little pillow things I got that were served with three different sauces, but it was delicious. The pillow things had a great texture, very cloud like, but nice to chew. It soaked up the various sauce nicely, as well. The samosas were.... different. They had some sort of sweet sauce on them, and had been cut open/exploded, and some of them were missing filling. Still, for the most part delicious. The potatoes and veggies it was stuffed with had a great texture, and the shell was crispy. The naan was... Naan. Perfect textbook example of garlic naan. Nothing bad to say. But I will say this... It takes a loooong time to get your food here. Came for lunch, and took a solid hour for everybody at the table to get their food. And so, this carnivore gives a VEGAN/VEGETARIAN restaurant a 4 out of 5. One star off for taking a long while to get the food, and for the exploded samosas missing filling. Still, if you're vegetarian person, I could see this place being absolutely delectable. You should definitely check it out, as everything is seasoned very well. As for myself, I probably won't return (just being honest) because while delicious, this place REALLY made me miss the meats.

Em C.

Yelp
Wonderful food. Love this place. The options are vegan or vegetarian and you can choose to have either one serving of everything or for just a few dollars more you can have unlimited refills. Incredible

Yelp
I went for the first time for lunch, and it was fabulous! I love South Indian staples like the masala dosa and channa masala (chickpea stew). The food is delicious, filling, and healthy. Just look at the pictures! Each dish is spiced perfectly and made fresh. Service is friendly and accommodating.

Yelp
I love Thali!!!! I really like how authentic it is to Punjab culture. I also love that it's family owned and you and peek in the kitchen and see the grandma or someone cooking. Service is wonderful and cute little space in west street market! Often, we will get wine from Archive next door and eat inside. They will also serve you if you're in Archive. It's a great unique date night! 10/10

Samantha R.

Yelp
I could eat here everyday. This was like eating at the most wonderful family home for dinner. The cook made us as much fresh gluten free roti as we could eat at no extra charge and our family ate 16 of them! The curries were unbelievably flavorful and their chai was sweet and delightful. I can't wait to come back, it was so lovely to be so well taken care of with all of our dietary restrictions (gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian). We cleaned every crumb off our plates.
google avatar

Meg K.

Yelp
The food is so good and fresh here! Truly a gem in Reno. Super easy to make everything gluten free and vegan, too.
google avatar

Jayci S.

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch on a whim and the food was amazing! Perfect amount of spice. Best dosa in town for sure. Service was relaxed and efficient. It's a fun spot located in West Street Market alongside of other small businesses to try. My husband and I look forward to coming back for their dinner special soon!

Yelp
After 7 years I think it is time for an update! I have come back here many many many times over the last 7 years and I have to say, they are really consistent. Staff are friendly and helpful, the food it outstanding, and the prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of the meals. As always, the meals are made from fresh and locally sourced food. The spices and flavor notes are complex and very appealing. All the dishes are vegetarian and most are or can be modified to be vegan and/or gluten free. This is is the first time I have had lunch here since Maya's moved to their own location. The lunch menu is different from their evening Thali menu. You have a choice of different items. This time I Joined a friend for lunch. We both started off with Cha, a lovely spicy warm creamy concoction , perfect for a cold winter day. I ordered the Samosa Chaat, she ordered the Chana Masala. Both dishes were delicious (yes we shared) and while there were similar ingredients the flavors were quite different. The samosa was spicy with a bit of heat served in a bowl of chana dahl. The seating in the restaurant itself is very small. We opted for one of the booths in the common area. The sun shining through the plants on the window sill made for a lovely homey ambiance. You order at the counter and the food is brought to your table. You pay after eating. Service is not super fast, but it is a small family owned business and the meals are freshly made and the meals are worth the short wait. And yes - I will continue to come back.
google avatar

Nima B.

Yelp
I guess I'm picky about my South Indian food looking at all the reviews as I was not impressed. I ordered a masala dosa and the crepe part of the dosa was thicker and not crispy which is opposite of how I like it. The potato filling was cut really largely with the skin on the potatoes which I was not a fan of. Not to mention the AC was not working on a HOT day which made the experience worse.
google avatar

Kason G.

Yelp
My favorite place to eat in Reno. The food is so delicious and full of flavor. I come back every time I can. Great ambience too (either in Thali or in the market hall).
google avatar

Tylar R.

Yelp
Still amazing as ever! Increased my rating because the food is always amazing! The staff is super sweet and friendly, and the ambiance is soo fun to hang out in

Yelp
Found this vegetarian Indian restaurant on Yelp that I thought would be a good option for my wife, who has a gluten allergy, and my friend, who is vegetarian. Upon walking in there was some confusion as their set up is super weird. For some reason, you order at the register but then don't pay until after your meal. After ordering, you're asked to have a seat in the back. The dining area in the back is set up like a food court, with a couple other businesses also sharing the same tables. We waited so long for our food that we thought they forgot about us and/or forgot our order! In fact, we even placed an order at the Vegan Mexican restaurant for chilaquiles that were ready within minutes! As we were contemplating going up to cancel our order, the drinks finally came. Geez, took like 20 min! Our food then took an additional 10 to 15 min to arrive!! The food was alright but the service and wait time really turned us off! After our meal, we were required to bus our own tables and then go back up to pay! And to add insult to injury, they even asked for a tip even though there was no table service or bussers! Overall we had a terrible experience and definitely won't be back!!
google avatar

Sharon H.

Yelp
Strolled into this restaurant, nice and cool building after spending the morning at Wingfield Park (4th festivities). Outstanding service, great food choices and nice size dining room. I plan on coming back with my family.
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
I was surprised by the tastiness of the food and how everything was vegetarian. The sauces are amazing and pair well with garlic naan. The samosas were fried and crispy with a good combination of seasonings on top. Their yogurt drink was not my thing. Seating is in a small food court where you buss your own plates. There's street parking outside, so prepare to pay for meters if it's not a holiday or Sunday.
google avatar

Omega F.

Yelp
The food at Thali was fresh, delicious, and packed a spicy and flavorful punch! The location has plenty of other restaurants in case your group is all in the mood for something different. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating to choose from and it's just a quick walk from the river in a great area. The service was super swift and easy as well.
google avatar

Denisse P.

Yelp
We came in to try the kombucha on tap and the food was delicious. the ambiance was great and the service was exceptional. I highly recommend you come here. I loved that everything is vegetarian and they are vegan friendly.
google avatar

Ben B.

Yelp
I love this place. Fresh, delicious, healthy, Indian vegetarian Thalis (combo plate). Lovely staff. Very family oriented. I will come back for sure when I'm back in Reno.
google avatar

Yelp
I can't believe I've never left a review for my favorite restaurant since moving to Reno 5 years ago! This place is unforgettable. There are always new things to try because they serve local and seasonal produce. They scaled their business beautifully and serve lunch and tea in addition to dinner. This restaurant is located in downtown and is within walking distance of many local attractions. They validate parking in the parking garage on 1st & Sierra. They also have cooking classes! The staff is generous and kind and the whole place has a wonderful vibe and it is my all time favorite restaurant!
google avatar

Kaylie A.

Yelp
One of my favorite go to spots when meeting up with friends or when I have people visiting from out of town. It's a fun location becuase it's in the heart of downtown without feeling like it... we all know reno gets a little ratchet sometimes and this cute street does not. It's kindof part of a food hall but the food is amazing. They serve it as a plate of many little dishes and that's what the menu is for the night. They also have kombucha on tap and gluten free naan which is so hard to find! Yummy
google avatar

Adonis H.

Yelp
Thali is a great spot to enjoy some of the more uncommon Indian flavors rather than the usual Tikka Masala or Butter Chicken vibe (not to say those dishes aren't delicious in their own right). But it is nice to enjoy Indian cuisine in a lighter fare when you don't want something so rich. The food is seasoned perfectly and each dish always goes so well together! We're always met with great service and the price is well worth it for what you get, all you can eat or not. I'm not vegetarian by any means, nor do I go out of my way to eat organic, but this place is an awesome spot to go to when you want something light but still filling if you ever do fall under those lifestyles! Highly recommended for lunch or dinner. Don't forget you can also refill on the dessert!
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
Never before have I had an unlimited meal feel so limited. The single portion thali is $18. For only $2 more you get "unlimited" servings. Sounds great in theory. Those unlimited servings feel very limited when the waiters don't come back to your table to bring you more. If it's a staffing issue, I would just prefer to go get my own. Since that's not an option they need to have a better system in place to bring seconds, thirds, fourths, or whatever number of unlimited portions you request. Food was excellent. Some of the best daal and sabzi I've had from anywhere. It's awesome that they don't just remove items when you request Vegan but actually substitute, a Vegan yogurt for example. If you're only getting a single thali for $18 it's ridiculously expensive, however. The first portion they brought out was like a taster size. If you're only getting that for $18, you're getting robbed. If you purchased the "unlimited" serving, be prepared to wait. If your patience isn't unlimited, you'll be lucky to get another serving. This easily could've been a five star place if service was up to par.

Yelp
Sonny hands down makes the best Indian food in town. Veggie, organic, and locally sourced ingredients. Wash it down with the fresh local kambucha drink. I come here at least once a week, since it is affordable and is always made when you order it meaning it is always fresh and never old.

Rashed K.

Yelp
This is probably the fav. place for many because of the ambiance! Also, old Bebo's coffee location was right inside - they have a place for concerts inside! Thali is the Veg restaurantst option in town and a little restaurant to explore in Reno! By the way, they also have cooking classes for community outreach! The owner practices sustainability and they do not use plastics! I do not know how many know about it, but Thali was highlighted many times for this.
google avatar

Yelp
I am so impressed! We came in on a Saturday night and it looked pretty popular. We got the vegan thalis and let me tell you... just WOW. As a Gujarati and an Indian American, I love thalis and will try them anywhere and everywhere from India to all over the United States, and never have I encountered a location that was so inclusive to vegans. Normally, other places will just remove anything that isn't vegan and give you the rest of the items for a vegan "option" but this restaurant went above and beyond. When we got our plates, I was surprised and skeptical to see yogurt in it in addition to the rotis looking like they had ghee on it. I was thinking, they must have messed up or they don't know what vegan is. I tried a spoonful of the yogurt first and turns out it's Forager - a super familiar taste of nondairy yogurt! I was beaming! They also actually had a vegan dessert - a mango kheer! I've never been to a restaurant that includes options like these for vegans. Beyond their inclusivity, the food was delicious. Everything was super flavorful from the sabzis to the daal. For instance, the carrots in one of the sabzis were delicious when they touched my tongue. I don't think I've ever enjoyed carrots as much as I did in this sabzi before. I also personally am not super into Indian pickles but surprisingly I could do these! Truly a diamond in the rough! I never would have expected to find a gem like this in the heart of Reno. I can't recommend enough! Don't wait and visit now!

Yelp
Wow wow wow 100% organic Indian food! we were blown away by the kindness of the staff and the yummy deliciousness of the food. We meet the owner Surge and Chef Sonny. Incredible human beings!! Incredible people make the food taste incredible!! Thank you Thali

Yelp
Thali is one of my favorite restaurants in Reno. It's a great way to get some great, clean food that satisfies the soul. You know the saying, "made with love"... well, you can taste the love in their recipes. Last nights dinner was amazing! Amazing blend of Northern and Southern Indian flavors! The vegan plate is my favorite! Great people, great energy, great food!

Yelp
Thali is located in downtown Reno and is one of the best Indian spots I've had in a very long time. Mostly because they did all the work in helping me decide what I wanted to eat. I absolutely love this concept of paying for a set meal and being able to enjoy all the different dishes made by the chefs. For less than $20, you are able to have a meal that's "unlimited" consisting of various Indian dal, curries, yogurt, etc. served with roti flat bread. You can ask for more and enjoy it as much as you'd like, and end the meal with some dessert. For me, I wasn't comfortable dining in due to the small enclosed space, so we did end up ordering two portions to go. I absolutely loved the veggies and curries that we had, but was left feeling hungry since I would've totally asked for more if I were dining inside. You have to decide for yourself what that comfort level is and trust your gut. I would love to come back in the future and dine in to really experience their flavors to the fullest extent.

Shaine S.

Yelp
This place has the best Indian food I have ever had. Every time you come in they have something different on the menu so it's always a fun surprise. Everyone that works here is kind and helpful. They really look out for you if you're vegan. The whole menu is vegetarian but can easily be made vegan. Just make sure to ask them and they will get you vegan roti and a coconut yoghurt as alternatives. The pickled veggies and mint chutney I could eat every day and I'd be happy. Seriously every detail is there. After your dinner try their chai tea. It's mind blowingly delicious. West Second street market is also a really cool building that's located right by the river. I love the space and sometimes there's local performances. It's kid friendly and there is a bit of outdoor seating if you have dogs!

Yelp
A very unique dining experience in downtown Reno! I like Indian food, but I don't go out for this type of cuisine often. Part of the reason is because I'm overwhelmed by the menu options and never know what to get. That made this the perfect place to go! They don't really have a menu, the main entrees change daily based on what fresh ingredients are available. You get 3 entrees, yogurt, rice, bread, and dessert! $18 for no refills or $20 for all you can eat--seems like an easy decision to me. This is such a great way to try a variety of different foods and flavors! I'm glad I read some prior reviews on the process of ordering here or I would've been a bit confused. There's only a couple tables when you first walk in, but then it opens up into a shared indoor common space with seating for multiple businesses. You order at the Thali counter then they bring the food out to you. Someone brings by refills for the dishes you'd like more of. When you are done, you bus your own table and then pay at the other counter! It still took about 30 mins to get our food which isn't long for dinner but felt kind of long for an order-at-the-counter place. I couldn't even tell you what entrees we had tonight, I couldn't find it listed on their online menu or on their Instagram where they're supposed to be found. Either way, everything was really good! All the food is vegetarian, a friend with us was stoked about that since it can be hard to find places like that. I definitely got much fuller than I thought I would from this food! I only had about half of my plate refilled after finishing round 1 and that was plenty for me. I had never been in this space before and will definitely come back to hang out on the patio as it warms up. Parking can be tough here as there is limited street parking, but it's an easy walk from a few blocks over. This was a great deal for all you can eat and I'm happy to have tried out a new place with such fresh and unique dishes!

Yelp
It was nice to visit Thali again! I haven't been since the beginning of the pandemic but it is still just as delicious as I remembered. This evening, they served a bean dish, a cauliflower dish, and a spicy pepper and mushroom dish. They also include basmati rice, roti, sweet cardamom rice, and a bit of pickled veggies with each plate. When we ordered, we were told that someone would collect our payment once they brought us refills. I was a little disappointed with the service tonight. They were pretty busy which I can understand but it took 45 minutes to get our food which came out lukewarm and the portions were much smaller than they used to be. After eating what they gave us, we waited for refills for a long time but none came. I had to go up to the counter to ask for refills. It took another 30 minutes for someone to come out. We were told that they were running out of food so they didn't have much to give us. We also had to go up to the counter again to pay for our meal which was a little inconvenient. They increased their prices to $18 per plate which came out to about $25/head with tax and tip which felt like a lot to not receive adequate portions. Though the food was yummy, it felt pretty expensive for the amount of food and the quality of service that we received.

Yelp
We were visiting Reno and found this place. We ordered Masala Dosa and Medhu Vada combo. This was one of the best food I had so far. It was delicious and quality was very good . The staff is really sweet and the service was great. This would be my go to place whenever I visit Reno and want some Indian food to eat.
