I had a very disappointing experience at Skins Amsterdam. When we walked in, there was only a minimal greeting, and the staff completely ignored us afterward. While I waited in line, one of the employees started chatting with her friend about personal matters, never once acknowledging me. When I asked another staff member for help finding a specific makeup product, she just pointed to a mirror and went back to talking to her colleague.
At checkout, every other customer had their items nicely wrapped, but mine was simply shoved across the counter. I know I didn’t buy an expensive product, but that shouldn’t matter. Every customer deserves respect and proper service. On top of that, we couldn’t help but feel that we were treated differently because of how we look. What made the experience worse was how the employee leaned over and looked into my bag, as if she was suspicious of me. It was uncomfortable and disheartening. As I left, just five minutes before closing, they even slammed the door behind me. Truly disappointing and unprofessional experience.
