Nice cafe with chill vibes. Good for a break or working a bit. My cappuccino was on the bitter side, not that creamy. Would like to try different beans next time!

Mighty Oak roaster always has an inflow of customers. A large reason is that their prices are comparable to other coffee spots, but they also have a large variety of offerings. I personally prefer their iced chai latte (good amount of spice and flavor) but their regular coffee is quite strong as well (cold brew). I primarily come here to do work and study, it is a very nice and relaxed atmosphere. The staff are friendly and actually seem happy to be there, which brings the overall vibe up in my opinion. They also have a sparkling water fountain which is a game changer that I wish other places would have. Highly recommend coming here if you’re looking to relax, study or just vibe. They also have power outlets and their store is very well maintained and cleaned (including the bathroom).

It’s rare to say when a coffee shop is truly unique, and this one is. There is a wood fire roster in the back where they prepare their own beans fresh. The space is elegantly designed. The baristas are welcoming, kind and professional. The coffee itself tastes delicious. You wish you could give 6 stars.

Mighty Oaks is one of my favorite neighborhood spots in Astoria. The iced latte, as well as lemon cake, were excellent. The staff were attentive and it's a great spot to reflect solo or catch up with a friend. I also appreciate the tap and sparkling water available for patrons. Definitely a regular spot for me.

This spot is phenomenal. Truly one of the best coffees I've ever had! We ordered the affogato and the caffè con panna and both were simply divine. The scone wasn't a hit for me but the coffee was so good I will definitely be back here!

This cafe is now one of our must visits in Astoria. The coffee was super delicious and prices were very reasonable. We love any cafes that avoid single use cups and they were very accommodating. Would highly recommend anyone visiting the neighborhood and try out their coffee. Also biker friendly as they have a to go window!

The coffee is good and since they re opened indoor seating it’s a nice place to hang out or get work done, save for a few times the music is loud and distracting. My major issue is that their pastries are not very good. I know that they get them from a local bakery and don’t make them in house but i think its time they explore another supplier. I got a croissant and it was inedible, just stale and greasy from sitting in the plastic and costs about $5 after the tax. The muffins are sometimes dry and sometimes fresh but you will get a blueberry muffin with 2 blueberries or a banana muffin with only the smallest pieces of nuts and no banana taste. t’s disappointing because I like having something to eat with my coffee.

Fantastic corner coffee shop! Amazing drinks especially their Mocha, hot chocolate and espresso! Super friendly staff and ambience of the shop. No dinning in but I’m not upset! If you come once you’ll become a loyal customer forever! We go from quite far away now just because we lived nearby once!

I adore this cafe! The vibe is amazing: bright and bustling with lots of natural light and the smell of brewing. It's perfect to sit alone and get some work done, or for you and a friend to chat over coffee or tea. One detail I love is that Mighty Oak Roasters and Bench Flour Bakers (a bakery-cafe also in Astoria) have a little exchange: Mighty Oak sells Bench Flour's pastries and cakes, and Bench Flour sells Mighty Oak coffee. Support your local neighborhood businesses!

Love grabbing a latte at this cafe! They have lots of milk substitutes for our lactose intolerant individuals. The only thing they lack are flavored syrups, but you can sweeten your drink with simple sugar, honey, or maple syrup at the side. They have lots of options for indoor and outdoor seating. Generally, it's not very crowded, quiet, and easy to find a seat.

I stumbled upon this coffee shop on a walk through the neighborhood. From the outside, it's charming and inviting. The inside space is beautifully decorated in a trendy style with several tables where you can bring a laptop to work remotely. The inside also smells amazing as they roast the coffee beans right behind the counter for all to see. The menu has all of the staples a coffee drinker may want. I got an iced latte that was prepared quickly and tasted amazing. I will definitely be back!

Coffee was delicious! They don't have flavor syrups but can add maple or honey if desired. The coffee is smooth. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon and the spot was chill and packed with ppl either working or mingling. Super chill vibe, airy with lots of light. There's wifi! Service was quick. Barista was nice!

I recently moved to Astoria and passed this on my walk one day. After reading about it online, I was intrigued by their wood roasted coffee. I stopped in on a summer day. The atmosphere and decor were indeed charming. I loved the colors and design elements of the bar and the industrial wood fired roasting machine was obviously unique to Mighty Oak (and something I have never seen before). I tried to capture some photos to share on yelp and send to my friend who loves and appreciates coffee, and that's where my experience here went downhill. I am not an influencer and maybe took 5 or 6 photos on my phone. Discreetly, as I know it can be annoying but an employee made comments about me taking photos, thinking I couldn't hear. Their comments were not only rude but also made me feel unwelcome. There are other ways to let a patron know if there is a photo policy, which I didn't see anything about. I don't think they truly cared I was even taking photos, I think they were just had a rude and off-putting personality. The employee they were talking to did not respond to them and just kind of smiled, probably realizing I can hear and was aware of what was going on. Regardless, after just wanting to get a delicious cup of coffee and try a place that was new to me, I left feeling kind of stupid and disrespected. The coffee here was decent but nothing to write home about. It was on par with what you'd find at any other independent coffee shop in NYC, which was disappointing considering the unique experience and coffee mighty oak offers. The rudeness of the staff overshadowed any positive aspects I can think of, so I will not be returning.

Great space to get a coffee to go on your way to the subway or stay and work. Good coffee, lots of windows for natural light, several outlets along the bench for your computer and light music so that you can actually think. We were looking for a coffee shop to work at near the airport and this spot was perfect. Lots of places to grab coffee but most shops are too small or not a good space to work and some don't have restrooms for customers! This place hit all the marks. They have oatmilk and seasonal coffee drinks which I love. I tried their matcha and I also tried their autumn spice latte. Both Excellent Ran out of vegan baked goods but they've only been open a couple weeks. Definitely check them out!

How impressed I am with Mighty Oak Roasters. What I had heard and read about them lived up to expectations. Mighty Oak Roasters was our third eatery of the day, and we noticed immediately that we were walking into an outstanding (by Astoria standards) coffee shop. We could see the coffee beans and smell them, and above all, the coffee was excellent. I ordered a traditional iced coffee with milk, and my partner ordered a regular tea. At the time, we were not hungry as we had just come from a nearby pizzeria, so beverages were the order of the day. Mighty Oak Roasters stands out because of the coffee and the balance between java drinkers and the space to sit, relax, and work on a laptop. Outside, they have the best awning for any coffee shop I have seen in the area. You immediately know this place is a cafe just by looking at the name. Yes, an outstanding recommendation. The owners got the balance right!!

Excellent Coffee Shop if U are in the area. I had a Cortado that was most excellent!! It was my first time here and I am ashamed that I did not leave a bigger tip... after trying me most excellent Coffee.. it was way above average...

Love love love it here. The staff are so amazing and kind. They also seem to genuinely enjoy their work and love the craft of making coffee. Every barista I've had has acted like it was a pleasure to serve me and as a former barista I loved their attitude and work ethic! Coffee is great but very strong so keep that in mind. I wish they had more food options though. Perhaps salty options that aren't just bread. Like a quiche or something similar. Environment and decor is very cute as well and they have many plugs for working there. Overall great vibes.

Cute coffee shop in queens and perfect for a specific situation. If you have to fly out of LGA in the middle of the day but have to work, and don't want to spend hours and hours at the airport, come here. They have plenty of outlets and tables. Very bright with lost or natural light and great WiFi and delicious coffee. They are also 2 blocks from the LGA route bus stop, so you can work here in the morning and then jump right on the bus without worrying about a couple of transfers. Really enjoyed working here this morning and now I'm caffeinated as hell.

BEST espresso beans I've ever bought!!!!! Also jumping to the other side of spectrum-- decaf lattes are delicious here. My abuelita only drinks drip coffee and decaf after 12PM, NEVER a latte but she'll forever get a latte (decaf) here because they're that good!!!

After enjoying their coffee several times at another restaurant that uses their beans, I wen't out of my way to visit the Mighty Oak flagship. I've had the drip coffee (black) and cortados from here a few times and they were both disappointing. I wanted to think the first couple were just flukes, but both the drip and the espresso drinks are consistently weak and bland. I mentioned to the other restaurant that uses Mighty Oak, that their coffee is better than at the actual roaster/flagship and was told that I wasn't the first person to bring this up. I was also hoping Mighty Oak would have more roasts available to try but found out that there is only one day a month when they serve any coffee besides standard house and espresso roasts. Give another chance as I tried here twice. I think its not my cup of coffee. Sour when you drink as cold brew. And they recommend that their coffee is great in all styles. OKAY

Cute neighborhood spot, with a cozy hipster vibe (which I'm into), de-licious coffee and yummy treats. Their dirty chai is one of my new favs. Service is quick and friendly with an outdoor service window if on the go, counter service and a small amount of seating indoors for getting some work done or catching up with a friend.

Excellent baristas, coffee, and whole bean product. Smooth and efficient service - even when slammed people are helpful and able to get drinks out as timely as possible. Great seating for working or catching up with a friend.

My iced cortado was good. No doubt about it. But when I asked some questions about a drink the barista who took my order acted like I had demanded that she make me a Starbucks Frappuccino- her tone was not called for. At the end of our exchange she told me that they shake up the drink; my response was "oh you don't need to shake it." And she said "That's how we make the drink ma'am. We don't go OFF MENU here." Lol! Didn't realize I had walked into La Bernadin.

I cannot reiterate this enough. I love their coffee but I truly hate going there. Their system is truly dreadful and I walk away shaking my head every time. I am pleading with the owners to please do something. Please and thank you.

This cute cozy coffee house is a great addition to Astoria. When you walk in, you'll experience the incredible aroma of roasted coffee infiltrating your senses. Ahhhh! They have a great selection to choose from- including macadamia, oat and soy milk for those who are lactose intolerant. I ordered a nonfat capp- it was good. They have a fabulous array of desserts as well..banana nut bread (disappointed they were out) coffee cake, and an assortment of cookies and delicious cocoa and peanut energy bites. There are a number of small tables with patrons working on their laptops. Ohhh and the have free WiFi (insert applause). Great place to get work done. The staff was friendly & knowledgeable. Prices are consistent with other coffee houses in the area. I would def recommend & plan to return.

Intense coffee! We are used to espressos and stronger coffees but their coffee will wake you right up! Without thinking and being in the rush we gulped it down - don't do that! I thought my heart skipped a bit - it's that powerful! They brew their coffee on premises using a spaceship like machinery. They also have drinking choices besides coffee and offer plenty of seating (there were many people reading or working on laptops). Sadly, no outside tables. Service is knowledgeable and pleasant! Place is very nice overall! Parking is tough (street), but considering the limited choices for nice online cafes in Astoria area, this place is scoring 5*.

Came on a rainy Sunday afternoon and was surprised by how large the store was inside the seemingly quaint row house, with plentiful seating options even around peak customer time. There was a wide variety of caffeine options available. I opted for their seasonal Autumn Spice Latte. My small cup latte came at a hefty price of $7, which is on par with what one can expect from a boutique coffee shop. Unfortunately was quite disappointed with my selection, that consisted of little more than a heavy infusion of cinnamon and foam. The atmosphere was exactly what I wanted though, for a casual coffee date. This place is a perfect representation of the burgeoning hipster scene in Astoria. Specialty cold brew options? Check. Craft coffee? Check. Oakwood long tables and open-ceiling concept? Check, check, and check.

Please go get the affogto. Literally the most delicious thing I have ever tasted!!! It's a scoop of vanilla gelato and espresso. It was $6 for a small thing of it but honestly it was the perfect amount and so delicious.

Recently open coffee shop and roastery in the neighborhood. Coffee drinks all around are excellent as you'd expect from beans that are roasted in-house. They've also hired experienced barista and it shows. And they have carbonated and still water on tap. The decor and design is standard coffee shop vibe. They did go with a rosetta design on the floor tile in the restroom which is a nice touch. The bar stools at the front look awesome, but are probably the most uncomfortable stools I've ever sat on. They should add a couple of benches outside, that would be killer in a neighborhood with so many dogs. They're on a corner, it would be so perfect! The only really disappointing thing about Mighty Oak is the pastries. I tried a few things on various visits and they were all dry and bland. In fact I threw out half a peanut butter cookie once it was so mediocre (and I LOVE PB cookies, you don't understand). I realized on today's visit that all they're pastries are either just vegan or vegan AND gluten free. Well there you go, that's why the pastries taste they way they do. I only stop in for the coffee these days.

Local coffee brewer. They make roast their coffee on premises. Had their coffee black and it's dark, not acidic and goes down smooth.

I live in the neighborhood and have been checking the construction status of Mighty Oak Roasters, so I was happy to see that it opened while I was away from NYC. I really liked the spacious interior with huge windows that fills the space with natural light. I could easily imagine coming here for coffee and to get some work done. Coffee tasted great too! The only concern for me is that the pastries collections don't look too good to me - I tried the almond pound cake that looked the best, but it was overly sugary as I'd expected. I'd be happy to take any recommendations on which pastries to try, but I would like to have a better pastry selection. Otherwise I'll bring my own handmade butter cakes to pair with the coffee here.

Experience 1. Sampled Cold Brew - intriguingly good, unlike any I've tasted so far, will come back for a more in depth analysis. 2. Black Coffee (House Blend) - bold and roasty going in, delicate sourness settling, nutty at rest, pinch of bitterness going down. Service - Busy today, enough to drive any barista crazy but my barista held it down. He kept his composure under pressure, answered all my questions and kept a positive vibe all while taking orders and making everyones drink. This is not easy to do alone and a unique quality that only a few baristas possess. Congratulations young man! Recommendations - not today

coffee is bitter. they had no AC when it was 86 degrees outside. strange bathroom. go elsewhere unless you want to sit in a sauna.

Honestly, the best beans in the city. I drive 10 miles to get these freaking beans. Pricey, but I'm a coffee snob. 18 bucks a bag. Suke Quto and La Inteligencia are my favs.

Consistently amazing coffee! They have a rotating choice of beans from various origins, but everything is delicious. I love that they're eco-conscious and partner with other local businesses.

This was just okay. The cashier/barista had some sort of judge-y tone and coffee/tea-snob attitude. I ordered something off-menu (earl grey tea latte) and she seemed fazed and incapable of imagining it so I said kind of like matcha latte (the only tea-based latte on the menu) except with earl grey tea. She proceeded to say well matcha is made with powder... so what? And yes, I know that matcha is made with powder, thank you very much, but I just wanted earl grey latte. They were offering earl grey tea, so I didn't think it was going to be an issue to ask for it in latte form. Finally for those who may have a snarky follow up - I went to a coffee shop to get tea because my pregnant self has decided I cannot stand coffee so I have to get my caffeine fix from tea.

I live around the corner and really wanted to like this place, but my first few experiences have been disappointing. I've tried the lattes, espresso over ice, and drip coffee. The coffee is really good, but it's so expensive! A large drip coffee is $4. (If I wanted to pay those prices on the regular, I'd live in Manhattan!) It would be a great place to meet for a first date -- if the place wasn't full of people tucked in working on their computers. I've never found a seat in the 4 or 5 times I've visited. I've tried two of the baked goods one scone and one muffin. The scone was ok, but the lemon poppyseed muffin was awful. I'll try a few more visits before I fully give up on this place, but so far it's been a disappointment.

This place is my new neighborhood staple. They don't mind campers like myself and in fact have outlets underneath all 25ish seats in the place for laptops to use, and the wifi doesn't have a time limit. This can be a good place to socialize but a much better place to get some work down. Music is good. The coffee, it goes without saying, is basically perfect. I have a sweater that basically smells of mighty oak now. Points also for the wooden oak ambiance, it's like drinking coffee in a forest. My only complaint is that the in house coffee roasting machine can be a little noisy, but obviously it's not annoying enough to stop me from showing up almost daily.

Very nice spacious coffee shop and so needed in this neighborhood. Very Nice decor, nothing overwhelming, friendly staff and convenient for working. Music is on but not loud, people working here are respectful and of course coffee is GREAT! I tried iced cortado and it was a good discovery. They offer free still or sparkling water which is really thoughtful. Sadly I don't live in this neighborhood anymore otherwise I d be a regular visitor.

LAST WEEK WAS MY FIRST TIME HERE. As you walk in the place is nice and spacious/ welcoming. Love the decor ..very stylish and cool. The girls that work there seem nice and laid back. HOWEVER, as I went to order an *almond latte..they told me we don't have almond milk....only soy, oat, macadamia or whole milk. I ended up getting it with oat but it just didn't taste the same. The coffee was good but the oat milk threw off the flavor..since it has a distinct taste. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT. How could they not??? It's soo popular and definitely requested more than oat or soy at least. If they offer other milk options why not add Khalifa milk to the list. Your customers will greatly appreciate it. The person after me also asked for an almond milk latte and the person proceeded to tell them the same thing. I'm sure their have been MANY people that have asked for it. I also got a mixed berry scone BUT it only had 1 blueberry and it tasted almost like cardboard. It didn't specify that it's a more healthier version of a scone..so that was surprising. Hmm?! The owner really should inform the company that makes this item..that if it's a berry whatever it needs to have a good amount of berries. Lastly, why so many options of loafs..?? Why not provide more variation like croissants and other baked goods. PLEASE TAKE NOTE!!!

Very good coffee place that is cute for hanging out. I really enjoyed the iced cappuccino. I had a brownie on a different occasion and thought it was very tasty. They have a pretty spacious interior and custom built espresso machines that are worth checking out. The people at the counter are friendly and I noticed they offer oat, soy and macadamia nut milks. Yes, it's pricey for a coffee but not more than the going rate at other local shops these days. Really happy they opened and I hope they start a rewards program soon.

Stopped in to kill some time waiting on a delayed flight arrival. Really beautifully appointed place with great coffee. Wish it was near my place..... Big up for the sparkling water on tap. Unexpected and delightful.

Great new coffee shop in Astoria featuring coffee roasted in house available by the cup or a bag of coffee can be purchased to go. They also have good iced tea and baked goods. It's very convenient how they have outlets to charge phones or laptops.

I'm a bicky pitch when it comes to coffee - and Mighty Oak seems to have thoughtfully presented every last detail perfectly, leaving me a thousand reasons to fall in love. From the ambiance to the in-house wood-roasted coffee, the roaster itself, the compostable everything. A bag of whole beans roasted in-store is priced super reasonably, and the wood roasting process produces an incredible flavor. The baristas are knowledgeable and nice, willing to answer questions and enthuse about the roasts. The look of the seating is understated classy - kinda Gatsby, but not pretentious. And there's a cappuccino design in the tiled floor of the bathroom. Yesss.

Moses gave me INCREDIBLY customer service!!. My mail order went to the old apartment which I moved out from--My fault for not updating. HE DROVE to my old building in NYC and hand DELIVERED to my now NYC address! Who DOES that? This is my favorite coffee even before this happened!

Decent coffee but way overpriced in my opinion. Also frustrating that they're still only doing window service in Feb 2022. There's a way to have the indoor section open and still be safe and COVID conscious!

For being a specialty type place you will think they will have cold coffee to make Iced Coffee, well I was wrong I ordered a pricey small iced coffee with a little half and half and all I got was water down coffee so light I could not drink it. I brought it to the attention of the counter person that it was too light and she kept adding hot coffee. So I walked away and left them with a terrible coffee and $4+ Definitely not worth the money. One of the reason Dunking Donuts is successful "consistency"

So far this is the best coffee in Astoria...My boyfriend and I drive every Saturday all the way from Sunnyside to get it. I get the cappuccino with macadamia milk and he gets the Autumn Spiced latte. Yum

I want to like this place more since it's so close to my apartment, but any time I've been pre-COVID, I haven't been able to find a seat, since people like to camp out and use the wifi. It looks lovely, if there was ever room to stick around. They do get points for their excellent takeout window (card only), even if the customers take up the whole sidewalk. The coffee is tasty, but on the pricey side!

This is probably the best coffee shop in Astoria to work out of. The music volume is low enough that you can have a productive session if you're working remotely. There's a lot of coffee shops in Astoria but most of them to me play the music too loud. The staff is nice and the coffee is good. My only suggestion is that they should look to add food other than pastries to the menu.

Great coffee is hard to find in Astoria so tried this local spot in the area. Decor is nice and clean with several tables. Free WiFi available. Service could be friendlier as the servers looked unhappy and didn't know how to smile. We had the larger size latte with oat milk. Overall flavor was good but my wife saw the barista preparing the drink and noticed them give only one espresso shot despite the bigger size cup we ordered.
