Both Big Chill Cakery and Creamery are, at best, okay. Their products — whether pastries or ice creams — are nothing out of the world. The taste is decent, but far from what the hype suggests.
What’s really disappointing, though, are their hygiene standards — which are quite poor for a brand of this reputation. The outlets often feel cluttered.
The so-called “rush” and “popularity” seem more self-created than genuine. It’s not that customers are buying in bulk; the main reason for the crowd is their painfully slow service. Despite having 6–8 employees at any outlet, only one or two actually attend to customers while one person handles billing. The rest are usually idle or doing tasks that don’t seem to add any real value.
Overall, Big Chill looks impressive from the outside, but the actual experience — both in terms of taste and service — is pretty underwhelming.
