After overcoming some recent hard times, I stopped in here to treat myself today. I was so disappointed by the unfriendly, unhelpful vibe that I felt compelled to write this review in hopes that the feedback will help the store do better. I worked in restaraunts and other customer service roles for 20 years and know these jobs can be challenging. However, it's part of the job description to make customers feel welcome and attended to. Despite being the only customer in sight, I was not greeted or acknowledged by the staff until I'd been standing at the counter for awhile. I finally got a minimal, "I'll be with you in a minute," with no eye-contact and no actual greeting. The person then moved so slowly, and interacted with me in such an unfriendly, robotic manner that I gave her the benefit of the doubt and thought she must be having a very hard day. As I stepped aside and waited for my order, a customer walked in and was warmly greeted with full eye-contact and a smile by the same server who had taken my order. This was confusing and I began to feel disrespected, since I hadn't acted any differently than this customer had, and I now knew the server was capable of being professional. When she handed me my order, I again smiled, said thank you and attempted to make eye-contact, and once again got nothing. I decided to say something and I got a defensive response, and a loud, over-the-top, insincere apology. I've never been to this store before and have no desire to return. I'm an older person who still expects to be treated with common human decency, especially in a service industry setting where I am a paying customer. Please train your staff better. Thank you.
