"Part museum, part restaurant, Papiamento operates out of a cunucu house that’s over 175 years old. The best spot for this fancy date-night dinner is the outdoor tables set around an illuminated pool and under enormous trees with lights hung from their branches. The menu highlights Aruban standbys, like oyster soup and keshi yena, and entrées served on hot stones. Don’t miss the pan bollo, a take on bread pudding made with a custardy liquor akin to eggnog called poncho crema. "Papiamento Restaurant Located in a former home built more than 100 years ago, this intimate restaurant excels in ambience and Caribbean specialties. Outdoor tables sit next to a pool and pretty tropical gardens, while the dining room boasts an array of European antiques. A son of the restaurant’s original owners, the current chef specializes in such dishes as bouillabaisse, crunchy okra, and cinnamon-and-brown-sugar sweet potato mash. Also on offer is seafood prepared with local spices and coconut milk. Papiamiento was a whole vibe not just a restaurant! The former house turned bar also has a humidor and cigar room onsite, wine cellar, several court yards, and gorgeous outdoor seating year round. The food is also 10 out of 10. Remember you need a reservation here because people are fighting to get in here for the food and the spectacular ambiance. #vibes #outdooreating #ambiance #5star #aruba

Unfortunately the only thing going for this place is the atmosphere. The view is gorgeous. The food, however, was incredibly bland & the wind made it nearly impossible to enjoy the food as the table covers consistently flew up and over. I spent most of my night trying to keep the table covers down. I also had to consistently flag down someone to not only be served, but to also check out. TLDR; If you want a nice dinner alone, this place isn’t it.

Best meal we have had in Aruba. It is truely an experience more than just a meal. We were lucky enough to get seated next to the pool and have Ruth and Ginovanni take care of us. Take their recommendations! The ambiance is indescribable, the food and service were impeccable. Papiamento’s will be the first reservation we make each time we come to Aruba from now on.

This place is very overrated. The food was not good at all for the price you're paying the quality was very low. The rack of Lamb on the stone had a lot of fat on it and barely any meat. The grouper had no flavor I had to ask staff for salt and pepper. The only thing that was good was the appetizer , which was the cheese and the Caesar salad. Aruba has plenty of places to try. I would pass on this location.

With so many options, we were a bit torn on where to go for our anniversary dinner, but landed on Papiamento. And I am so glad we did! We had an incredible experience. They staff was kind, welcoming, and accommodating. Service was a little slow, so don't expect to get in an out in a rush. Such a unique atmosphere and we truly loved it! The food was amazing and different from the usual, the wine list is expansive and they did help us select the right bottle for us, and it was just absolutely beautiful. The wine celler is something to be admired and the cigar lounge is small but mighty. We will definitely recommend this place to everyone! Thank you all for a lovely dining experience

We had a reservation at 7:30, showed up at 7:45 and had to wait to be seated, understandable. Second the table was wobbly and had to get 2 people to come stabilize it. Next came the drinks, they were good. Then came the app, the brie brulee, which was also good but only came with 3 small pieces of toast. Next came the steak tenderloin (not served on the stone). Asked for medium well and it came out more like medium rare. One had to be sent back. It was good but I wasn't impressed. And the servers, one mainly, was less than attentive. I probably won't be back, though the atmosphere is it's biggest draw.

The ambiance was incredible! This restaurant is fully outdoors, and you’re seated in what seems like the backyard of a house, around a pool. The service was great and the food was delicious. We enjoyed the empanadas, lamb chops and various fish dishes. Our favorite meal in Aruba.

Beautiful, spectacular dining on an outdoor patio/garden. Fabulous drinks (we both had G&Ts, Hendricks w/ Fever tree, lovely garnish). Service was excellent (and we were not rushed at end of meal). I enjoyed one of the “stone” meals (fish comes still cooking on a hot stone), my wife had an excellent fish dish. Very special spot. Highly recommended!
